PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Dinner rush had been pretty busy, but Tifa had been glad for the distraction. A lot had gone on in her life, and she was glad to be getting back to it being somewhat normal. Getting back to normal completely would probably never happen, so this was about as close as she was going to get. Dropping the check off with a smile to one of the last tables she had in the bar, she got to cleaning the plates and glasses from the earlier customers.
As she washed the dishes, her mind drifted off with thoughts of recent events. She was still wondering if Sephiroth was telling the truth, but signs were pointing that he was. If he wasn't, what else would have stopped him from fighting her right then and there? Well, maybe the people that were there as well, but he didn't even threaten her. They had a good, yet confusing conversation.
Then meeting Noctis, which had been an interesting distraction. Who knew fishing could clear your mind? Not to mention just letting some things out that had been weighing on her mind. The interaction had calmed her down enough to be able to go see Cloud and tell him what she had found out. The confrontation had gone as she had expected it to, but she knew she had to tell him. She didn't like keeping things from her friends, not things that were that important anyways.
Noticing that her table was ready to pay, she dried off her hands and made her way over. She thanked them for coming in and grabbed the rest of their dishes as they headed out the door. After she had finished washing and drying everything, she wiped down all the tables and headed back behind the bar. Now it was time to make sure she was stocked up and ready just in case any more people were to come in for the evening.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa's mind was racing, as it usually was if we're being honest. The girl had been through a lot, so it wasn't surprising that she constantly had one thing or another randomly popping up in there. Whether it was her wondering what her parents would think of her life so far, to what would be happening in her life if she hadn't been brought to Zephon. It was amazing to think what one little thing in your could do to your future.
Provo was quiet, or it was to her. The circus could be happening right next to her and Tifa probably wouldn't of even noticed at this point. She was heading back to Cloud, and she was pretty nervous. There was a lot of information to tell him, but Tifa wasn't sure how he would take it, or if he would even believe it. Then again, it was coming from her, so the chances were higher than it would be with others.
Walking up to the clinic, she gave a small smile when she saw him sitting on a bench. "Hey." She took the spot next to him that he had offered and giggled at his comment. "You have been here quite some time, I don't blame you for wanting to leave." She herself wasn't one to be in one place for too long, especially not being about to get up or do anything, so she could understand Cloud's want to leave.
Looking at him, she could see that physically, he was doing much better than when she last saw him. Mentally? That was another story. Cloud could be pretty hard to read, even she had trouble sometimes. There was no doubt that anger still resided inside him, and she didn't blame him. There was so much he didn't know though, and she had no idea how to tell him. "How are you feeling?"

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa was a pretty patient person, so fishing was something she was sure she could grow to love doing. It was rather relaxing, and it was pretty much free food. The little fish had been pretty easy to reel in, but she wasn't sure if she would have the technique for anything bigger. Then again, you didn't know until you tried. She promised herself that she would have to come out here more often, even if it was just by herself.
"Beginner's luck. Also, I had a pretty good teacher." She couldn't take all the credit, so she complimented him as well, and gave him a smile back. Tifa was pretty quick when it came to learning new things, mostly due to her having to learn things on her own for most of her life. Not saying her father never helped since her mother died when she was young, but he had to work so they had what they needed. They did their best to live a good life, and she wouldn't trade it for the world.
Giggling, she watched as he put her fish away. "I'm not a terrible cook, but I can't cook anything fancy. I'm sure the cats will love it, since they've definitely probably ate worse." Cats had to rely on hunting sometimes, so eating something cooked was probably a treat for them, no matter how it was cooked. Following his gaze, she looked across the lake as well. The moon was just starting to show, and it was breathtaking.
Noctis was then asking how her first time fishing was, and she grinned. "I really enjoyed it, thank you for teaching me." She was telling the truth, she had enjoyed it. Giving a nod, she was about to say thank you when he mentioned his place being rubble. "About that. I'd like to apologize on their behalf. Well, for one of them anyways." She had totally forgotten that she knew who it was that he had been talking about earlier.
Taking a deep breath, she met his eyes. "The two that were fighting were two of the people I talked about. The blonde is my childhood friend, and the other one was the guy that turned evil that now doesn't know we exist. Which is why that battle happened in the first place. Cloud saw him, memories came flooding in, and he went a little crazy..." At this point, her eyes had went to the ground, hands fidgeting in front of her.
"There's no need for thanks. Everyone is human, even royalty." Tifa was never one to treat anyone any different, regardless of anything in their life. "Yeah, you're right." Looking over the lake again, she sighed a little. She missed everyone back home and hoped there was a chance at going back. Noct's voice grabbed her out of her thoughts and she put on a playful smile.
"I don't mind trying again, unless you're scared I'll catch a bigger fish than you again."

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa gave a small shrug at his question. "Honestly? I'm not sure. Apparently Cloud wasn't aware that people can be pulled from different parts in their lives, so when he saw Sephiroth, he just attacked. From what Sephiroth said, he had no idea who we were. It seems he was pulled from before all the chaos happened. It seems as though he's telling the truth, but I don't want to let my guard down." Sephiroth was smart, so there was still a chance he was trying to be sneaky about everything.
"Yeah, my mother had passed away when I was young, so there was really nothing left for me in my hometown." With her only friend gone as well, it was the right thing to do to leave. He then mentioned his father was also murdered and she gave him a small smile. "I hope you get yours too." They had some common ground now, and could relate just a little more to each other.
Hearing the groan, Tifa could help but giggle again. "That's true, you could be walking away empty handed. At least the cats will be happy." Animals were her weakness, especially cats. That was probably due to the fact that there had been so many of them roaming around in Sector 7 that it was hard not to like the cute little things.
"Yeah, you kind of dug a hole there with that one. It's okay, I can keep a secret." She gave him a smile, though it wasn't like she had many people to tell. Even if she did, they didn't know Noctis so it would be pointless to tell them anyways. "I don't blame you for not wanting people to know." All the attention and everything. Though, she wasn't sure he had much to worry about here. Even if he did tell people, it didn't matter in this new world what he was in his old one.
"Right!" Remembering how he had done it, she starting reeling the fish in, making sure to go the opposite way as well. After some fighting with it, she finally pulled it out of the water. It was just a little bit bigger than his, but not by much at all. "There's going to be some happy cats here soon." She gave him a smile and handed him the fish. She wasn't going to use it for anything, so there was no reason to have it. They had fish at the bar, but it was fish sticks ordered from a company.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Shaking her head, Tifa gave a smirk. "No, we took care of it. Well, we had some help, ironically from the guy we ended up fighting against in the end." They had started to take down Shinra from the inside, but Sephiroth took down President Shinra, and Rufus didn't really seem like he was going to continue what his father started. "It was kind of a confusing mess." While it was happening, she kept up. Now that she was explaining it, it seemed like, well, chaos.
Noctis mentioned that it was just him now, and she looked down. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." She knew what it was like to lose your parents. When she looked back up at him, he seemed to be lost in thought, and it didn't seem like good ones. To her, it looked like he was remembering his parents, so she just stayed quiet and watched him. After a little bit, he seemed to come out of it when talking about what she did.
"Oh, it is." She giggled, and realized this was the most she had spoken to anyone in a while that wasn't close to her. Noctis was easy to talk to, maybe it was because they were both a little shy. She shook her head. "No, it's in Sonora. I came here to see a friend who was injured in a fight. With the same guy we battled before." Yeah, we're just adding more crazy to the story, it's okay.
Then it was her turn to get a little personal, which she didn't really mind. It was nice to get it off her chest sometimes. "A couple years back, my town was burnt to the ground. My father was killed in the madness, so I took off. I started new in a different town, which is where I found what would become a good friend. He was the one who owned the bar. He took me in." She was looking over the water, she missed her parents. What was done was done though, no way in going back.
Now she was rubbing the back of her neck. "It's fine. I've been in a lot of fights with monsters and crooks, so I get a little jumpy." His next words made her head tilt to the side. "Knew what?" The question confused her, but it confused her even more when he tried to cover it up. Waiting for an answer, she watched as he reeled the fish in. She made mental notes about how he was angling the rod with what direction the fish was going. Seemed complicated and easy all at the same time.
Covering her mouth, she had to giggle at the small fish. "It's so cute!" It really was, just all small and wiggly. He then mentioned he would give it to cats and she raised her eyebrow. "Royalty and cares for animals? What other secrets are you hiding?" She gave him a smile, and then it dropped. "Well, it doesn't look like it so-" Just as she spoke, her pole started tugging.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
"There really wasn't a government. We had a mayor, but the President of the cooperation locked him away in an office. Basically, everyone was scared of this company because they had a lot of power. Even the workers hated what they were doing, but they were paid well, so they stuck with it." Tifa remembered Jessie's father and what happened to him, and the fact that the company didn't even care about him. They probably had him replaced within a couple of hours. Luckily Shinra had been taken care by the time she was pulled here, and she had to hope everyone was doing well.
As Noctis explained the history of his weird power, Tifa just kind of stared. "One of the gods. You're telling me you have a power of the gods. That's, amazing. Your family must be powerful then." The closest thing she had to anything powerful like that was her materia, and there was a lot of people that could use that. She looked at her Ice materia on her wrist for a moment before putting her hand back on her fishing pole. She didn't want to accidentally lose it in the water.
Shaking her head, she looked back over the water. "No, I just work at one. I am one of the top employees though, but that can be expected when you've ran your own bar in the past. It's nice though, not having to worry about the business part of it. I still help the management a little, but the job is a lot more fun when I'm just a regular employee." No stress of making sure the bills are paid, stock is good, employees are happy. She could just serve and talk to people.
Giving a nod, she looked back over at him. "It was. During my adventures with my friends, weird things sometimes happened. I have to say, ending up here was at the top of my list. It was a rough start to being here, but I've completely uprooted my life before and was able to do it again." She had left Nibelhiem and started fresh in Midgar, so she had some history of being able to get back on her feet again. Not a talent she was wanting to perfect, so she hoped this was the last time she would have to do it.
Tifa hadn't really noticed that his pole moved at all, so when he quickly got to his feet, she thought he had seem something. She almost dropped her pole and jumped to her feet as well, ready for battle. Then he said he got a bite and she giggled. "Good job king of fishing. This is where you have to spin the thing near the handle to bring the line in, correct?" She knew a little bit about this part, but she wasn't sure if there was anything else you had to do before then, so she hoped she was right.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa figured that the secret hideout comment would catch his attention, and she was right. She laughed when he said to back up. "I didn't like to think of it that way, but it honestly was. There was a cooperation that was draining the life from the planet in order to provide energy for electricity and such. We knew there was another way but they wouldn't hear it so we decided to take physical action. And that we did..." She trailed off a bit because there were some things they did she did really approve of, but that was the past now, right?
Giggling, she looked up at the stars. "Funny thing is, he's a very nice man. He has some strong beliefs and is very vocal about them, but he's a teddy bear." Especially when it came to Marlene and his friends. She missed them all, but held onto hope that they were all happy wherever they were. At least she had Cloud and Aerith here, and she would always wonder if anyone else was here.
As she listened, she raised an eyebrow. "A ceremony? Sounds serious." Then again, it might not to him since he sounded casual about saying that's what needed to be done. Something then dawned on her. "So is it just your family then, or are there others? Or do other families have different things they can do?" She realized she was starting to ask a lot of questions, so she just stopped there.
Tifa couldn't help but blush a little bit when he said he bent the rules and could help her if she needed it. "I'm not so sure about soup, but bottles of liquor can get pretty heavy when you have to stock up a bar." Bartending was something she enjoyed and had gotten pretty good at, so when she had gotten used to being in a new place, she got a job doing just that. It paid the bills and passed the time, so she wasn't going to complain.
A small smile crept onto her face and she looked down at the water as he seemed to get flustered at her words. She found herself getting the same way at his next words. "Thanks." That was the best her mind could come up with. Luckily the subject of new beginnings seemed to keep going. "That's right. Went to sleep one night, and woke up here the next." She had finally gotten used to this world until her recent conversation with Sephiroth showed that people could get pulled from different points in their timelines, and now she wasn't sure what to think.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa watched as Noctis seemed lost in thought, and she hoped he didn't catch her staring. Learning about people was something she really enjoyed, and he seemed like he had some stories to tell. Obviously she wasn't going to press him about it, but she would listen if he ever did. Or if they ever saw each other after this. At least she would be able to fish, or hopefully she would be able to at least.
It seemed as though he wasn't going to press the matter of her conversation, though she really wouldn't of minded either way. She liked to listen to people, but she also liked to be heard as well. It was always good to get things off of your chest, and sometimes doing it with someone you didn't really know was better because they weren't on any side and could sometimes provide some outside opinions that helped the situation.
Giving a small smile, she nodded. "I am. I'll be honest, the bar really just provided a front to a secret hideout we had going downstairs. It was a lot of fun though, you get to meet all sorts of people." Shinra was no more for her, so there really wasn't a reason to keep AVALANCHE and some of its secrets. His next question made her giggle a little. "Once or twice. The bar had pretty calm customers, but the travelers sometimes caused a problem. There was a couple of us that ran it, and one of them was a pretty burly man with a gun for an arm so people knew to behave." One look at Barret would make most people shut up.
"So not everyone from your world can do that?" The only cool thing she could do was Materia, but everyone could do that where she was from. He mentioned other baggage, and she definitely wasn't going to press on that since he had said it was a family thing. Maybe another time. "You can do that with anything? Remind me to find you when I need to stock up on anything." She giggled and gave him a smile.
"Enticing them with food, just to catch them and eat them later. The circle of life." It all seemed simple enough for her. He pulled out something else and it only made her jump just a little bit this time. She gave a nod as he explained what to use, and she had been pretty lucky in the past to go with what she thought was best, so that was what she was going to go with. She picked something orange and watched as he tossed the line out. Following his instructions, she did the same. Hers didn't go as far as his, but she thought she did well.
"That's one thing I do now about fishing, is that you have to be patient because it can take some time." Some of the people she knew hated to fish because of that. They couldn't sit still. When he spoke to her again, she gave him a smile. "It's not a problem. I don't really like being alone, so this helps me as well. Plus, I'm also new here so it's nice to run into someone that seems nice so far." She gave a playful wink at that part.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa listened to Terra and gave a small smile back to her. "That's good to hear. I would much rather have a few friends that have my back and that I'm really close to than have a ton of friends that I'm unsure about." Cloud was her closest friend, followed by the rest of AVALANCHE. Her and Cloud had known each other since childhood and even though they had drifted apart, she knew their friendship was still there. They were doing their own things now.
Sometimes it was nice to just have someone to talk, and Tifa was just fine being that person to just about anyone. Even if she didn't know the person, she would listen. Maybe it was the bartender in her, but talking to someone that you may never even see again was sometimes a good way to get it all out. You could vent about everything without the fear of them repeating it to anyone.
Giving a nod, Tifa smiled again. "Of course. My friend Aerith is a very compassionate person and always knows what to say and do in pretty much any situation." Tifa wasn't going to mention her friend was also a healer of sorts because she wasn't sure if Materia still worked here and she didn't want to get Terra's hopes up just to find out there wasn't a way to do things like that.
"I'm sorry to hear that. I can understand losing something close to you, especially a part of yourself." Tifa lost part of herself when the fire in Nibelheim took her home, and then when Sephiroth took her father from her. She had gotten her justice, and now the Sephiroth she met here was from before that time and had no idea the horror he had caused. "That's something to be proud of. Though you made a huge sacrifice, it was for a good reason, and now you're rebuilding. That takes a strong person."

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
A blush creeped over Tifa's face at his words. "With the proper training, I'm sure you could do it. It does hurt quite a bit at first, but it hurts less over time." She could rememebered the first dummy she ever punched and it had taken everything in her not to burst out in tears. Master Zangan would not have been happy with her if she would have done that. He was a nice guy, but still very stern in his training. "I wouldn't be very good at fighting with a sword, so I guess we're pretty even."
Thinking about swords made her think about Cloud and she still had a hard time figuring out just how he swung that massive sword he had around. The thing was pretty heavy as it was, but lifting it and moving it around? That was something she could never picture herself being able to do. Of course, she had never really tried it.
They walked in silence, it had seemed neither one of them really knew what to say to each other. She saw him rub the back of her head, and then he asked a question. She figured he would ask eventually, since she had mentioned it already. "Yes, I did. The conversation went a little different than I had planned though." Tifa wasn't sure how far into details she should go with this guy, but he seemed nice enough.
The response she got in regards to fish talking made her giggle. "We all have somthing we can talk about nonstop. I guess mine could be bartending. There's a lot of stories there." Drunk people were a handful sometimes, but they could be entertaining as well. She had run into her fair share of trouble and amusement while at work, sometimes at the same time.
Noticing that he was looking at something, she looked ahead as well. There was a lake, and it was rather pretty. Tifa liked being around water, it was calming to her. The sun was setting as well, and the reflections on the water just made it that more beautiful. No one was currently around, and she couldn't imagine why. The scenery was great, but maybe it had something to do with the fish? Maybe they weren't around at night, so why were they here now? Currently, she was at a loss.
Following him onto the dock, she almost fell backwards when two poles seemed to have come out of nowhere. "Okay, now that was pretty cool." She didn't really know what else to say, it had taken her off guard. Regaining her footing, she walked over to him and took the pole, staring at it slightly. It was honestly a little odd to her that this was the first time she had ever held a fishing pole, since the people in Nibelheim always caught their own fish.
Sitting down next to him, she watched as he showed her what to do. It seemed easy enough, so she copied how he had done it. He explained about the lures, and she gave a nod. "The sturdier the lure, the bigger fish you can get?" She was just guessing here, but that was the option that made sense to her. It all seemed so thin, how did none of it break when trying to get the fish out of the water?
