PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Sephiroth watched her while she talked, which made her a little nervous but she didn't think anything of it really. He was pay attention and listening to her, and that's what she wanted. She never thought she'd be the one to tell Sephiroth about his own past, and she was starting to think that this was all a dream. That she would wake up soon and get ready to head to work or go to the gym. Cloud would have a fit if he knew this was happening. That was a converstaion she would wait a little bit to have.
After she was done, there was silence. It didn't last very long, but for Tifa, it seemed to go on forever. This could be the breaking moment, but as she watched him, her worries faded. There was no signs of him getting angry at all, and then he spoke. He believed her, which she gave a nod to. Of course she wouldn't blame him if he didn't. The whole thing sounded like it could have come out of a book or something, especially if he didn't know exactly who Jenova was. It occured to her that she sounded a little insane.
At his question, she opened her mouth to speak, but then closed it. It was a good question, one she had never thought about. What was it that drove him to do the things he did. She thought for a moment before speaking again. "It may have been the thought of you being brought into this world for the sole purpose of being experimented on, or that no one told you the truth about anything? You locked yourself in the basement of the Shinra mansion in Nibelheim for days, I don't think you even slept." The basement light never shut off...
When he said he'd look into it, she gave a nod and looked at the ground. The whole thing was confusing to her. Why she was telling him, when it brought up horrible memories for her. As if he could read her mind, he asked her why she would tell him. Why she was talking to him now. Without looking up, she knew the answer. "If I have a chance to try and stop the past from repeating itself, I want to take it." He wasn't the same person as the one she had fought, so it was the best chance she would get.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Sephiroth tried to hide it, but Tifa could see it. The fact that he didn't know what to say added to it. He was confused. That was not something Tifa expected at all. She expected rage, depression, and maybe defeat. Something other than confusion. Why was he confused? She just told him his father injected cells of what could be classified as an alien into him. Honestly, all she could do was blink at him. Then he told her what Yuffie said. It hit her.
He wasn't fully aware of who Jenova was. He had probably just been told her name, and that was it. Her arms dropped and she looked up at the trees. "Um. Yes, it does. She was right, though Yuffie isn't really the best at explainging things." That was the understatement of the year. Suddenly, any worries of her being attacked were thrown out the window. This man was so far in the dark that she was wondering if this was even the same person she had fought against.
Sighing, she sat down on the bench. Looking back at him, though not with as much concentration as before, she tried again. "I guess you could say Jenova was an alien. She landed about two thousand years ago on Gaia by meteorite, which created the North Crater." She really hoped he knew what that was. "She found the Cetra and took some victim, infecting them with a virus from herself and mutated them into monsters, destroying the Cetra civilization. The survivors banded together and locked it in the North Crater." Right now she was really glad she had learned this history from Bugenhagen.
"Fast forward to more recent times, professor Gast found Jenova and took her, thinking it was a Cetra. His plan was to create a human-Cetra hybrid, but failed. Instead, it made super soldiers, much like yourself and the others." She knew SOLDIERs were enhanced with mako, but she was unaware of the history of Genesis and Angeal, so she wasn't going to be able to take him down that road. They would have to do that themselves.
"Hojo eventually took over, and that's where your story starts. The previous experiments weren't working like he wanted, so he went about it in another way, such as injecting a fetus, hoping it would be different." That was all she had for him honestly, because that was the extent of the information she had. So, now she wait for him to process all of that information.

WOULD YOU SAY I BECAME A HERO?
Tifa wasn't sure what to think about Sephiroth meeting Yuffie before knowing what happened with all of them first. Yuffie, was different. She had a lot of confidence, so it didn't surprise her that she had gone up to Sephiroth by herself. Tifa herself wasn't really thinking clearly by doing just the same, but she knew how to remain calm and not get herself into any trouble. Or try not to anyways.
In a way, she was shocked Sephiroth didn't react to her touching him, though it wasn't like she was attacking him or anything. Her reaction and not thinking clearly in that moment could have ended badly, but it didn't. Whatever reasons Tifa had to believe this was the same Sephrioth she had fought were slowly vanishing and she knew that he was being truthful with her. She was still on edge, but she wasn't afraid in this moment.
Sephiroth's answer wasn't one Tifa wanted to hear. She wanted him to already know the truth, but knew in her heart he didn't. Was she to be the one who told him? They were alone, what if he reacted the same way he did in Nibelheim? She would be risking her life to tell him the truth. Would it be worth it? Could she stop him from repeating history?
Turning to face him, arms still crossed, she looked him in the eyes. "Sephiroth. Hojo is also your father." She wasn't breathing. Well, she was, but it didn't feel like she was. She waited a moment before continuing on. "A scientist named Lucrecia was pregnant with you, with his kid. While she was pregnant, they injected you with Jenova cells." She knew she shouldn't keep eye contact, but she couldn't look away. She needed anything to help her know what he was feeling, even if she wasn't certain it would work.
"Please remember that you are still your own person. Genetics aren't everything."

WOULD YOU SAY I BECAME A HERO?
Seeing Cloud in the state he was brought back memories Tifa really did want to relive again. When he was in a comatose state from excessive mako exposure. At least this time he was awake and could talk to her. She thought it was all over. They had won. Then she was here, and it seemed everything wanted to happen all over again. She wasn't sure she could handle that. The last five years had been the best and worst years of her life. She lost her father, became a wanted criminal, fought for her life. She had also met the people who would become like a family to her. It had been a rush.
Aerith appeared, and she gave a small smile at her friend. Seeing her was still hard for Tifa, but she was happy that she was here none the less. What she said made Tifa whip around to Cloud. "You did what!? Cloud Strife, what were you thinking!?" Tifa was mixed with anger and concern. He knew what Sephiroth was capable of, why did he go after him alone? It wasn't a surprise he was in the state he was. Now she was curious how Sephiroth was. From the conversations she overheard on the way, it seemed he had survived as well...
Watching as he struggled to sit up, only to fail and fall back into the bed almost had her in tears. Grabbing his hand, she went to say to take it easy and lay down. Aerith made it over to him and placed a hand over him. Tifa knew what she was doing, and was glad she was here to do so. Cloud sat up, placing an arm over his midsection. Tifa wanted to take his pain away, but also wanted him to keep it as a reminder that he was in the wrong for what he did.
"I understand your reasoning for doing what you did, but you didn't think clearly." She said and looked at Aerith and back to Cloud. "You know what he's capable of. I know you know better than to charge into action alone after all that we went through." People aren't known for making the best decisions when they're angry, which was why she tried to calm down before rushing into things. "Did he say anything to you?"

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
In all honesty, the events of just moments ago were really just a blur for Tifa. It was too far-fetched for her to really believe that she had a confrontation with Sephiroth that didn't end in battle. She wasn't going to say it didn't end terribly, because emotionally, it did. More for him, but the who thing still got to her. How could someone who had done so many terrible things just...forget? Oh that's right, he didn't forget them. He never knew those memories.
At first, Tifa thought Cloud was right. There was no way someone could do all that and then act like it never happened. Sephiroth wasn't acting, and this whole world was just screwed up! Why would some people still have horrible memories, but others didn't even know who they were? Who created this world, and why would they do that? Was death the thing that brought them there? Tifa was sure they had won that final battle, so she was sure death wasn't her option. Well, she hoped so anyways.
Arms crossed, she made her way through Provo, unsure of what to do next. Should she head back to the hospital to see how Cloud was doing? She had left in quite the hurry, so maybe that wasn't the best idea. Besides, going back there would mean telling Cloud everything, and she wasn't really sure she was prepared to tell him quite yet. Not while she was still processing it all herself. Aerith probably wasn't going to be the happiest with her either.
Looking around, she once again saw the ruined building from the fight. The fight that came from one big misunderstanding on Cloud's part. She didn't blame him though, nor did she blame Sephiroth. They had just fought him, it wasn't a surprise that Cloud still had hatred towards him. Sephiroth, well he just happened to see Cloud at the wrong moment, memories still fresh in his mind. Wrong place, wrong time. For the both of them.
It was a little chilly out, one could tell by the way Tifa was rubbing her arms. It didn't bother her though, she had dealt with far worse weather. Deciding it would probably be best to find somewhere to stay for the night, she looked around. In this new world, she couldn't really tell if there was an inn nearby. She turned to head more into the city when she collided with something, or someone, that definitely wasn't there moments ago. If she hadn't been trained like she had, she probably would have fell over. Luckily, she stood her ground. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize anyone else was out here."

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Everything was turned upside down from what happened in Gaia. In truth, Tifa should not be where she was, and with who she was with. Every rational part of her was screaming at her that this was wrong. He had just tried to kill her and all her friends not very long ago. He had also just tried to kill Cloud maybe a few days ago. Yet, here she was. Standing in the middle of a park with none other than Sephiroth himself.
Except. This wasn't the same Sephiroth that she had come to know. This was the Sephiroth that she had guided to the reactor all those years ago. The Sephiroth that didn't say much, if anything at all, and had been there to fix a problem, not be it. She had to keep thinking that. She had to keep thinking that this could stop her past from repeating itself. She couldn't save her home, but she could prevent others from losing theirs, and her friends from losing their lives.
There was something about his demeanor that eased Tifa. Chills didn't run down her spine when he spoke, she wasn't afraid when he looked at her. Tifa wasn't afraid, she wouldn't allow herself to be. She had walked on egg shells for too long to let it continue here. He recognized the name, which didn't surprise Tifa. "Yes." That was all Tifa said, because she expected what happened next. It happened enough with Cloud.
Without even thinking about it, Tifa placed a hand on his shoulder. It was habit from doing it to Cloud when this happened, and she removed it moments later when she realized. So Yuffie had spoken to him as well? "That must have been Yuffie. She, fought you with us." He continued talking about Yuffie and Tifa couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle. "That's definitely Yuffie. Her way of explaining things can get a little, well, creative I guess would be a good word." At least he had a start on things.
Tifa realized there was so much he didn't know when he mentioned that Jenova was his mother. He didn't know about Hojo and Lucretia, what was done to him, what could become of him. She wasn't sure if she should be the one to tell him everything, so she would have to consider her words carefully. Turning away from him, she crossed her arms and looked up at the sky. "It's a name I wish I didn't know." Sighing, she decided to figure what he did know.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Sephiroth stepped away from her, which was another sign that he wasn't going to attack her. It was quite the opposite it seemed. He was interested in what she was saying, which left her at a loss for words for a moment. This was the man who turned her life upside down, and here he was standing in front of her. It was the same man, but yet, it wasn't. She could fully admit her head was starting to hurt a little from all of this. A new world, with people taken from different parts of their old one. How was this possible?
As he asked what he had learned, she opened her mouth to speak, but instantly shut it. To be honest, she didn't really know everything, but knew enough details to hopefully explain it to him the best way she could. Before she could though, he mentioned he had seen her before. She stared at him for a moment before giving him a nod. "Yes, I was a tour guide there for a while. I was the one who took you, Zack, Cloud and one other to Mt Nibel." Of course, she didn't know it was Cloud at that point.
So, he remembered some of what happened in Nibelheim it seemed, and she could only guess that inside the reactor was where everything faded. He was then touching his forehead, in a way she recognized that Cloud had done before. Though, he didn't seem to be in pain like her blonde friend had been.
Tifa started to nod at his statement that they shouldn't talk there, but instead she was thrown a loop when she heard what he said next. Was he, being funny? Well, attempting to anyways? She gave a small, yet confused smile at that. Either he was playing this all of really well, or he was definitely telling the truth. That he wasn't the same Sephiroth she had encountered previously.
Following him, they made their way to a little park area on the outskirts of town. It seemed to be a dog park, as there were no playground equipment and quite a bit of trees and a few benches. Deciding against sitting down, she picked a spot to stand. "I guess where we left off would be a good place to start. I took you guys up to the reactor, but I wasn't allowed in, so I don't know the full details of what happened in there. I know you saw something in there, somethat that triggered you." She knew this could be a bad idea, but if there was a way to stop what had happened from happening again, she had to take the risk.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa could see that there were people watching them, and she didn't really care. She wasn't going to fight him, she knew she couldn't take him. Now was her chance to talk to him, and there were witnesses as well. She could tell that this wasn't the Sephiroth they had fought not too long ago. That Sephiroth would have attacked at the sight of her. This Sephiroth looks confused, as if he didn't know what he had done. Why they currently hated him so much.
Having calmed down a little, she was ready to get answers. The answer she was given, was not what she expected. "Th-the war?" There was a part of her that was skeptical of his answer. That it was made up. The way he was acting though, the way Cloud had said he had acted, seemed to line up with his answer. She wasn't ready to back down quite yet, but her heart did slow down just a little bit, and her fists were starting to unclench.
Sephiroth stated she had come to defend Cloud, and she gave a small nod at that. At his next statement, she wanted to scream everything at him. What he had done. Crossing her arms, she looked around. The people watching them seemed to think something was going to happen, and though it still could, the chances were starting to become less likely. She had half a mind to tell them to back off and go somewhere else.
Tifa's head snapped back to him when he spoke next. It was demanding, but not in a cruel way. He wanted to know the truth. Deciding the whole town didn't really need to hear this, she stepped a little closer to him. "Well, to start with. You found out some things about your past, and you didn't take it well. You burnt down a town, and that town happened to be my home, and the town Cloud had grown up in." To be honest, she wasn't a fan of having this conversation out in the open, but wasn't sure if she was willing to go anywhere with him.

PROMISE YOU'LL COMEAND SAVE ME
When Sephiroth asked if they had met, Tifa had to hold everything back. She wanted to just start screaming at him. After all he had put them though!? The battles, the journey, all of that was nothing to him? Cloud had lost his mind in the Lifestream, Aerith had died by his blade, a meteor was summoned to destroy Gaia. He had the audacity to ask her if they had met?? It was like, none if it had happened. Or he just didn't care to even remember the lives he had ruined. He had burnt down her hometown. This was the man who killed her father. Seeing red didn't even begin to describe what Tifa was feeling at that moment.
"How dare you ask me that. After the things you have done to me, my friends, and my family. You destroyed my life Sephiroth. You took everything from me, and now you just stand there, and not know a damn thing!?" She was starting to inch closer to him, fists balled at her side. She knew challenging him alone would be a terrible idea, but she almost did it. Her mind wasn't thinking straight. She had to pull it together, or she would end up like Cloud. Or worse.
Taking a step back from him, she turned to face away from him, trying to hide the angry tears that were streaming down her face. Seeing him brought everything back for her. Her father laying motionless on the ground. Zack running in to try to save everything. Aerith being put in the water by Cloud, never to surface again. Though she had seen Aerith again here in Zephon, the memory was still there in her mind, and it wasn't going away any time soon.
Coming to a realization, she remembered someone telling her that some people were pulled from their own world way before others. Could it be possible that this Sephiroth had never experienced any of the events that she had? He seemed to be confused by her, and from what she had learned from Cloud, it had been the same way with him as well. Taking a deep breath, she turned to face him again as she wiped the tears from her face.
As she looked at him, he didn't seem any older or younger than the last time she had seen him. Was his hair any shorter? It was so long that she wouldn't be able to tell if it was. Deciding to get it over with, she looked up at him. "What is the last thing you remember about Gaia?" To be honest, he could flat out lie to her. She had to really be careful if she was going to try to get this all figured out.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
To say that Tifa was pissed would be the understatement of the year. In all honesty, she wasn't just mad at Sephiroth. Cloud played a big role in all of it. He shouldn't of gone after Sephiroth by himself. At all. He knew what the man could do, and still went after him anyways. The fact that she knew it was in blind rage that it happened was the only thing keeping her from completely losing her cool on him. That, and he was already in a bad state in the hospital.
The last place she heard Sephiroth was at was in Provo, and that's where she was. To be fair, she had never really been here so she wasn't sure where to start looking. Sephiroth wouldn't be hard to spot if she ended up in his vicinity, but she had to find that as well. As she walked, she noticed a lot of people and authority figures around a ruined part of the town. Shaking her head, she walked over to it, knowing very well that was where the fight happened. Looking at all the damage, she could see why Cloud was as damaged as he was.
After a while of just staring at the ruined buildings, she turned to walk away and that's when she saw it. She knew that silver hair anywhere, even as far away as it was. In a rage, she started running, only slowing down when she got closer to him. She wanted to march straight up to him and punch him in the face, but knew that wouldn't be a grand idea. He might still be on edge and ready for battle after what had happened, so she had to play this right.
Slowing down, she approached with caution. "Sephiroth." The anger could be heard in that one word, and to be honest, she wasn't sure what to say after that. She wanted to unload on him, but she was level headed. Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself down. Nothing would get solved with anger. She was willing to hear his side, and see if she believed him. "Tell me what happened with you and Cloud. From start to finish." Her voice was stern, though not angry.
