PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
"You and me both. I did luck out though with Sephiroth being taken from before he did all the horrible things he did, so I guess that's something." That didn't mean he wouldn't repeat what he had done, but that was something to take care of if it happened. It seemed as Noctis had noticed her reaction. "He was gross. He ran a sketchy part of Gaia, and would have people pick bride contestants for him and pick his favorite for the night. The worst part of it all, he was as gross looking as his personality was." Tifa was never one to judge someone by their looks, but he deserved it.
Noctis stated he should check on Alex and Tifa gave a nod. "That would be a good idea. I'm not the biggest fan of him, but everyone does stupid things." She didn't hate the guy, but she was still a little mad at him for using magic in her bar and trying to put poor Cindy to sleep. "Cats are always a good excuse." Her cat had been there for her when she needed someone, and from then on, she loved the little things. They could sense things you would never expect them to.
Tifa gave a smile and a nod when he agreed to pay for dinner if the cooking attempt ended up being unable to eat. When he requested that they make something without vegetables, she tilted her head to the side for a moment before giving a nod. "I'm sure I can find something. Not your favorite?" It didn't surprise her too much though, everyone had their preferences in food. It might be something to work on later though, even just a small amount could make a dish so much better.
"Absolutely, you're welcome anytime for any reason. Not a lot can surprise me at this point." The company had been nice as well, so there was that. She gave a nod at the baking lesson comment. "Definitely. Baking is a little easier than cooking, though it can be messier as well." His hand was cold as well, but she didn't mind as she tightened her grip on his hand after he turned it over, using it to help herself up.
Tifa watched as the wine glasses went back in the glaive, still mesmerized by it. Focusing back on him, she gave a nod. "At least I know what to expect this time." She moved closer to him, ready.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Giving a nod, she looked up at the sky. "It's crazy to think that we're in a new world, living different lives, but still having to deal with the past." Tifa hoped that made sense with how she said it. As he asked who he should watch out for, she had to think a little bit. "Yeah, there could be a few that might be out for me and my friends. Heidegger, Hojo, President Shinra. Don Corneo probably doesn't want to hurt us, but you do not want to meet him." She gave a small shiver at that one. Honestly, a part of her would rather see Hojo than Corneo...
Tifa gave a chuckle. "That's true, not having rats would be great in a place that served food, so it looks like I'll just have to come by and see them." She was going to anyways, but now it wasn't just because she wanted to. They were also nice to have when there wasn't any customers there and she was by herself. They couldn't talk, but they still provided at least some company around an empty place.
Watching as he looked up into the sky, Tifa had to smile. It was interesting to see the curiousity from someone learning something new. As he started to talk again, she looked away quickly, a small blush on her face. Thinking on his question, she looked at her hands in her lap. "I think it could be possible. It's not like they just vanished, they have to be out there still since people still show up from there." She missed home, but this new world was starting to grow on her.
"Hey, I'm sure you didn't become a good swordsman after the first try. I know it took me quite some time before I was an accomplished martial artist. Things take time, and sometimes it takes a little longer for some. I promise I'm patient, and you can learn at your own speed." Smiling at him, she playfully raised her eyebrows. "Or, if it looks too bad, you can just pay for us to eat somewhere else instead." Honestly, she didn't eat at places often, so she would be happy either way.
Tifa finished her drink as well, feeling it as well. When he stated it was a good night for the wine he had been saving, she gave a nod. "Well you do have a big day tomorrow, so it's like a beforehand celebration. You guys have a plan, and I believe everything will work out. You'll be reunited with your friends, I know it." He was thanking her for the company, and she reached out and put her hand on his. "Thank you as well, I like talking to you."

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Noctis was then mentioning a man to avoid and Tifa gave a nod. "Of course, though I think I'll just take down information on whoever it is I run into and run it by you first." Seemed like he had enemies as well, but that wasn't surprising. Everyone usually did, and he was a prince after all. Plus, from what he had told her, life on his world hadn't been the best, so I was best to ask questions first.
At the mention of stray cats, Tifa perked up. "Oh I'll have to stop by. If anything, maybe having them at the bar would be beneficial too. Back home, customers would always stop to pet them or feed them. I've watched people go from a sour mood due to a bad day to smiling just by a simple cat." Of course, if she did find the cats at the Rising Stones, it probably wouldn't hurt to take one or two home for herself, depending on how close the cats were to each other.
"Yeah, I'm not used to holding things when I fight. Adjusting to the weight and the fact that I could hit things farther away would be some things I'd have to get used to." Having gotten used to close combat, she was a little worried she would accidentally hit someone due to forgetting that she was holding a long object.
It seemed Noctis was a little confused by going into space, and she hid a soft giggle. "Yes, space. You didn't have that on your world? I never got the chance to go myself, but yes, people do go up there. Makes me wonder if they have anything like that here." From what she had seen though, technology wasn't as advanced here as it had been on Gaia, so she really didn't have her hopes up too much on a spacecraft.
Tifa gave a smile at his sigh, not daring to laugh at him again. He didn't seem upset, so it appeared that this wasn't the first time someone had poked fun at him. "Maybe we'll start out with an easy casserole or something. Perhaps some grilled cheese." Okay, maybe that one would be a little too simple, but she couldn't help it. Luckily she loved cooking, so if he wanted to tap out at any point, she would be happy to finish whatever they were making.
When he poured out the last of the bottle, she gave him a nod of thanks. "Oh, I didn't realize we've been up here that long." That old saying 'time flies when you're having fun' was correct here. Well, a little. Some of their topics weren't too fun, but overall she was having a good time. "I'll definitely have to bring the best wine from the bar to have you try, though I don't think any of it could beat yours."

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
When Noctis said he would keep an eye out for her friends, she gave him a smile. "Thank you, I'll do the same for you." Given the fact that his close friends seemed to all be here, she had to be careful who she pointed in his direction. He didn't seem too liked by some parties from his home world, so she didn't want to send someone who was out to get him right to where he was. The one thing she could think of to do is to find him first if she found someone and tell him who it was.
Tifa noticed the change when he mentioned she had a cat and she giggled. "I see you're a cat fan as well. Yes, I had a white cat named Fluffy. I miss that fluffball." One day she would have a cat again, that was for certain. As he complimented, Tifa was glad it was rather dark out because she was blushing terribly. "It definitely wasn't easy, there were times I wanted to give up. Don't sell yourself short, I'd probably hurt myself if I tried to use a sword or any other weapon." She had decent aim with her punches and things like grappling guns, but that was about it.
Giving a nod, she took a drink. "We did. Cid actually was the captain of a rocket that was supposed to go into space. There ended up being a malfunction and the whole project was scratched by Shinra, which was why he had it out for them and joined us." The memories of Cid's colorful language filled her mind and she had to smile. Through his tough exterior, he was still someone Tifa could always count on.
As he told her about his experiences in the kitchen, Tifa just kind of stared for a moment before chuckling. "I don't mean to laugh, but that's quite an amusing accomplishment. Even if that accomplishment is the direct opposite of what was supposed to happen." It was then that she realized that she was going to have her work cut out for her, but Tifa always rose to a challenge, and she didn't give up easily either.
Noctis agreed with her about Ignis teaching her some new things and she was excited for that. "Well, you know where to find me when he's ready." She knew it could be some time before the two would be up for doing anything after being where they were for so long. Having to stay hidden along with all of that was not going to be easy for them either, and Tifa hoped they all pulled through and could return to normal sooner than later.
Looking up at him, she gave him a smile. "Of course, I'm glad I could help, even in a small way. I think I needed this too, and you're great to talk with." Friends had always come pretty easily to Tifa, but she didn't get too close to anyone quite as easily. There was something about Noctis that made her let down her guard just a little bit.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Giggling, she knew he had a point. "Yeah it was a great time, minus all of that. We exchanged stories and had some laughs. Sometimes that's all you need in troubling times." Noctis then asked if any of friends were there and Tifa shook her head. "Not that I've seen, but maybe they'll show up." Then he mentioned her blonde friend, but she mostly just heard that he didn't say anything to Alex. "Thank you, I'd rather not run into Alex again if I don't have to."
"Oh definitely. Not something we'd want to build without some idea of what we're doing. A good skill to learn though, even if we just learn a little bit." Just enough to be a little helpful was fine by Tifa, but she also didn't want to get in the way either.
Giving a nod, she looked back down at her hands. As great as it was being with everyone, the circumstances were less than appealing. "I'm glad to be here, and to be able to begin a better life, but I can't shake the feeling others back home are suffering still." She was really hoping to find someone from her world that could give her some better news, but so far, she had nothing.
Noctis asking what made her want to learn martial arts and Tifa smiled. "It's a weird story. My cat had run away, so while searching for him, I found a strange man by the stream. I actually thought it he was a child abductor at first, but then found out he was doing a class type thing for the town. So, I went, and I enjoyed it." Thinking back on it was a little embarrassing, but Master Zangan and herself could laugh about it now.
Shaking her head, she laughed a little to her about how Cid would react if he heard someone call the Highwind a boat. "No, it's an airship that one of the people that joined us got. It was really big, and got us almost everywhere." Taking a drink, she remembered what Gaia was like from that high up and it made her smile.
Noctis agreed to let her teach him how to bake and Tifa got a little excited at that. "That's a great idea, I'm sure he'd really appreciate it. You sound like you and your friends were close, I'm sure he'd love anything you did for him." To be fair, Tifa had no idea what all had transpired between the boys. Or how serious Noctis was when he said cooking wasn't his thing...
Tifa blinked a few times at his next statement. "Well, I'd feel honored to meet him then. Maybe he can teach me some things, I'd love to learn more recipes and techniques." And maybe together, Ignis and Tifa could get Noctis to eat his vegetables.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Looking down at her hands, Tifa gave a nod. "Yeah, I guess I didn't really stop to think just how bad everything had gotten in the midst of it all. I wish we could have stopped them sooner. It would have saved a lot more people." Taking a deep sigh, she looked up at the sky. "After everything in Midgar went crazy, we left and started our journey. I got to see so much of the sky after that." True, she had seen the sky growing up, but for years she had been stuck under the plates, so it had become a memory for a while there.
When he mentioned she would have the most important job of all, she had to roll her eyes, with a smile of course. "I suppose that is true. I'll still try and help out when everyone is fed. It could be fun to learn some things about building." Tifa had never minded getting her hands dirty, so this could be something she would be at least decent at. She had the strength after all.
Tifa blinked slowly at Noctis. "Um, I don't think so?" To be fair, Tifa wasn't exactly sure if he was being sarcastic or serious. After being pulled into a whole new world, she realized that anything could be quite possible at this point. Though she was leaning towards the 'not serious' notion.
Listening to him, Tifa looked at him and gave a nod. "I get that. There was so much left to be done, and it's just. Gone now." The conversation was not going how she thought it would for drinking wine on a roof, but she was glad actually. Sometimes it was good to get things out there, and she felt at ease talking to Noctis. They had both been through things, and they were still here, helping others and doing the best they could.
Slightly blushing at his compliment, she looked back down at her hands. "Thanks, I had a wonderful teacher. I don't know where I would be without him." Master Zangan had not only brought her out of the funk she had been in during her childhood, but he had also been the one to rescue her after she was attacked by Sephiroth all those years ago.
"I mean, that is fair yes. We did that quite a bit too actually, until we got the Highwind." Despite Yuffie constantly getting sick, their adventures up in the air had been a lot of fun. Seeing things from up in the sky was amazing, and she would never forget it. Or any of their other adventures for that matter.
Tifa giggled at his statement. "Maybe I'll teach you how to bake. You did show me how to fish after all, I owe you." To be honest though, she wasn't sure he would be interested, most guys weren't. Giving a nod, Tifa turned her attention back to him again. "That sounds absolutely amazing."

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
"Yes, it's basically always night. The lamps were really bright though, they did a good job making it feel like we had night and day." The more she spoke about it, the more depressing it all actually seemed. She had never really noticed it though, because that was where she had gotten started in Midgar, and she had gotten used to it. The people from the slums were kind and welcoming, it was home to her. "I just keep the thought that what we did worked, and everything turned out fine. It's definitely better than the alternative." They defeated Sephiroth, so the Meteor went away. That was that until she learned otherwise.
Tifa had to giggle. "Hey, that's pretty important too. I don't even know what I would be doing. I'm not great at building or coming up with a design for it. I'll just keep everyone fed and hydrated I suppose. I don't know if I trust myself with a hammer." That was something her father hadn't really taught her, and she was actually pretty okay with that.
Watching as he took a big drink from his glass, Tifa figured she was in for a story. Taking a decent drink herself, she turned slightly so she was facing him a bit better so she could focus on what he was saying. One thing stood out at first. "Niflheim? That sounds a lot like my home town of Nibelheim. How strange." Two different worlds and it was pretty close. She hoped pointing out a random fact wasn't rude, but she did let his story sink in.
Before she said anything, she finished off her glass of wine. "Oh Noctis, that's terrible. I couldn't imagine living through a war." She had lived through a bit herself, but it was just their organization against a cooperation. He had been in a literal war. To be honest, she wasn't really sure what to say about it all. "I don't know what to say, I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. So it was your city that was destoryed, where you were from?" She knew what that was like to an extent, she had lost a lot when the plate was dropped on Sector 7. This was an entire city though...
The next statement he made had her blushing just a little bit, and she was glad the only light they had was the street lights. "No, it's definitely not." As he nudged the bottle towards her, she grabbed it and refilled her glass. His was close to being empty as well so she held onto it, indicating she was waiting for him to finish his so she could fill it back up as well.
Tifa had to giggle when he rubbed the back of his neck, as if he was searching for a way to answer her question. His answer made her raise her eyebrows. "You say 'on the run' and 'fighting monsters' so casually, like it's just a normal thing for everyone. Though, I guess for some it is. We had our fair share of, interesting creatures as well. Camping sounds fun, did you do it often then?" There were some that made Tifa shiver just thinking about how gross they looked.
"A car? That's pretty cool. I would ask what kind, but I wouldn't have a clue what it would look like." Cars weren't something you saw a lot of in Nibelheim or the slums, so they weren't something she was used to. Rolling her eyes at the 'overthrowing the government' comment, she realized that she also had to think about the answer. "I like to cook and bake, and also read. And now that I say that out loud, my life outside of what you named already sounds very boring. I helped out around town as well if that counts for anything."

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
"That's right. We got these lamp things that acted like sunlight, so that was at least something." That probably made it worse to be honest, and Tifa looked out over Sonora again. Maybe that was why she liked working at nights, she was used to it being darker than normal. "Honestly, I don't really know. I woke up here after we had finally found Sephiroth and fought him. Meteor was still coming down, so it could have still wiped everything out." Until this moment, Tifa had never really thought about what had happened there.
When she saw the grin on his face, she had to smile as well. After what had happened at the bar, she was glad to see it. "You did, and I'll hold you to that." She gave him a wink as she listened to him. "Yeah, starting over again was not a good time." She had done it when she had gotten to Midgar, and then again when she got to Zephon. This time had been a little easier since she knew that she had to find connections quickly in order to make it, and she had done just that.
Tifa did want to talk about them, but now wasn't the time. He was about to go rescue his friends, that was enough for tonight. She smiled at the offer still. "Thank you, I'll keep that in mind." It was conversation for another time, and if she was being honest, she was happy to know that they would see each other again after tonight. Well, as long as everything the next day went well.
The hesitation in his answer didn't go unnoticed, but she let him have a moment. It was hard to talk about the past when so much had happened. "I understand that. Guess we both had our own share of trouble. You listened to mine, I'll listen to your story if you want to tell it. I understand if you don't want to talk about it though." It was difficult to tell her story sometimes, but it did make her feel better though.
"Hm, maybe it makes them more comfortable, if that makes any sense." Now she knew why he had said something when she had called him prince, and she decided she would not call him that again. When he mentioned he was hoping to take it back someday, she put a hand on his arm. "The fact that you still think about it and want to make it right says a lot. Maybe someday we'll all return back home. I believe there's some hope."
"A new world." Tifa repeated as she took a sip herself before just looking at it. It was sweet, and it was wonderful. "It's amazing, your world has some good taste." She didn't drink too often, but usually the wine was a little more on the bitter side when she did. This was something that could be dangerous. Thinking that they could use a more, happy conversation, she looked over at him. "Besides fishing, was there anything else you enjoyed doing?"

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
When he said he wanted to hear more, she smiled just a little bit at him being interested in hearing her story. That smile turned into a scoff though. "They didn't care. All they cared about was making money off of people using it. Midgar was arranged, differently than a lot of places. It was a city of two levels. The upper level was under the sun on plates held up by pillars, and consisted of the higher class citizens. They had good jobs, great places to get food, good schools. All the works. The slums, where I lived, was under that level, under the plates. We had no sunlight, and lived by what we could grow. Luckily we did have running water and electricity, but we counted on each other for everything else." As she spoke, she looked down at her feet. As bad as the slums did seem, it was home.
Noctis offered his help, and she gave him a smile. "When I've got a plan, I'll be sure to reach out to you. Maybe you and your friends will be able to move about freely by then and they can all help out too. It'll go really fast then." Maybe not Alex though. Nothing would get done then, and something would probably end up breaking when they were actually trying to build. "That's pretty cool you have your friends here though, at least you're not alone." Even if the situation they were in wasn't great, they had each other for support. Well, they would soon anyways. Tifa had to giggle. "I could tell. He doesn't hide it very well. But I'll keep my mouth shut." She made "zipping lips" motion.
Tifa sat down as well, crossing her ankles in front of her. "That's interesting. I've had to climb, jump, and swing across things, but I've never warped. That's a lot faster than the normal route, and a lot less work too." They didn't have anything like that on Gaia, not that she knew of anyways. She noticed him look out over Sonora, and she did as well. Tifa loved the night time, maybe that was just the bartender in her. It was quiet, and the lights just made everything glow just right to make it a really pretty sight.
Noctis then mentioned cups and she looked over at him as he pulled out two glasses and a bottle opener. She couldn't help but giggle. "You're a man to call for just about anything, aren't you?" Tifa really hoped that didn't come across the wrong way, but he seemed to have quite the assortment of things tucked away. She took the glass and shook her head. "This is perfect, thank you." It was true, she could make some great drinks, but simple was always best in her eyes.
As she watched him, she also waited to take a drink. She noticed he didn't drink it right away, and that he was lost in thought. It was from his home, so she stayed quiet and let him have his moment. When he spoke next, she looked back over Sonora. "Yeah, I do. I learned so much there, met a lot of great people. Though I lost some of them along the way, I will always cherish the memories I had." Well, most of them anyways. Looking back over at him, she tilted her head to the side. "How about you? Do you miss Eos?"
As she waited for an answer, she held her glass up. "To new beginnings."

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa was glad to be able to get back to a schedule she knew well. Like Noctis, her schedule while traveling across Gaia had been a crazy one as well. Maybe here they would both get back to something normal. Well, him after his friends were free and they weren't all on the run anymore. Tifa gave a nod. "They really did. Our planet had something called the Lifestream. Basically, it was what kept the planet alive. Shinra was using reactors to pull that energy from the planet. There's a lot more, but I don't think you want me rambling on."
When he mentioned adding it to the new bar, she had to give a small smile, since she had been thinking the same thing if Barret were to show up. "It's definitely not a bad idea. I don't think I could do it on my own. I didn't even set up the one where I was." To be honest, neither did Barret. It was the owner before them that had done that. Barret and the others would be the only ones she knew that could recreate it though. She might be able to, but not by herself.
"Good." Tifa thought for a moment about who she met. "Prompto was the one you knew well, correct? He's one of the friends from your world? You seemed to know Cindy as well, Prompto sure did anyways." She had taken notice of the way Prompto acted around the blonde, it was the most normal thing about that whole night honestly. She wanted to make sure she had met as the correct person in regards to what Noctis had told her, especially if she was going to see them again.
"That's so cool, you get to have a little slice of home with you. I mean, if it's a good thing to remember anyways." Tifa didn't have anything with her, except some Materia in her gloves, which she didn't even wear. She had opted out for a thinner pair, especially since she had gone back to bartending. She heard the groan, but still couldn't help but smile. "I can if you would like me to, just say the word." Obviously she wasn't going to do anything that would make him uncomfortable.
Tifa looked over at him with an eyebrow raised. "Warp?" Now that was a new one for her. She noticed the arm offering, but didn't make a comment, given their comments just a moment ago about the Prince thing. She watched as he summoned a dagger, and was both in awe and a tiny bit nervous. All she could was nod as they were being pulled away by, something. She went from lightly holding his arm to having a death grip on it by the time they made it to the roof. She stumbled a moment, but then was standing next to him again. "Wow, that was fast. A little rough, but not bad at all. You can just do that to go anywhere?"
