PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa had taken a couple days to get herself together. She had confronted Sephiroth and it had gone rather well, then had a literal run in with a guy who she learned was a prince. She would have never known if he hadn't told her, since he didn't look or act like any princes she had ever heard of. Then again, she had never met one before him, so she really had nothing to compare it to. It had been quite the day, and she needed to collect herself before she went to face Cloud, because she knew that confrontation was going to be a whole different thing.
Staying in Provo had been the best choice for her, as she was going to need to come back to talk to Cloud anyways. She had enough money to be able to rent a room for a couple of days, and she planned on talking to Cloud tomorrow. As she walked around, she started hearing things about some festival that was going on, and thought that would be a good way to get her mind off of things. Heading towards the place she had heard it was going to be, she had a small smile on her face.
When she arrived, it reminded her a lot of Nibelheim. The memories were happy ones, but it pained Tifa a little bit to remember them. She had relived her past enough during her conversation with Sephiroth, she hadn't been planning on remembering anymore for a while. The only reason she accepted it was because these memories weren't terrible, and she knew what she wanted to do first.
Apple picking was something she loved to do with her mother, so that's what she was going to do first. Paying her fee, she took her little bucket and bid a thank you to the attendant. The apples here looked delicious, and she knew she could make them into an assortment of things for both her home and the bar. As she picked, she noticed one other in the area. Deciding she really didn't like the silence anymore, she smiled at the other girl. "What do you plan on making with your apples?"

Provo was a town that she had only visited once or twice while she had initially travelled through Zephon. Though being back there she could not help but smile as she had begun to wander the town once again. Upon her travels into town she heard about a festival and it brought that smile wider than before. Partaking inside of something like that would be a great diversion and a way to make her mood lighten even more. In that moment she decided that it was a great thing to head in that direction. So that is what she would do.
This small place outside of town was not what she would have expected to find and yet it felt almost homey. Not quite as at home as she felt beneath that home inside of Mobliz but still quite close to that feeling. Following the signs she found her way to an orchard and after paying the fee that she had to she found herself inside of a small patch. Gathering up the bucket after entering the patch she found herself beginning to wander through the area. Reaching up she poked and prodded a few of the apples before grabbing the first of many apples.
It was after what Terra would feel was an hour when she heard the footfalls of another person. A person it seemed that would not allow the silence of the day to continue. Though it was not for the worse as the person did not seem to be bad. With a smile on her face she turned her head to the side to look over Tifa. “What am I going to make with these? Honestly I had not thought of it. I was more thinking about just eating a number of them as is. Though if I had to pick something to use it on I would love to bake a few pies…”
With that spoken she could not help but lift up the basket and have that wide smile still plastered on her face.

The other woman spoke and Tifa gave her a smile back. "Pies sound wonderful. I think I'll do that as well. Eating them plain also sounds delicious, these are beautiful." The conversation was small talk, comparable to talking about the weather. When you didn't know someone, you had to make due with what you were given, and currently, it was apples. Tifa didn't mind though, it could pick up a long the way and she could make another friend. Or, it could go wrong and it would end in flying apples.
Plucking another apple from the tree, Tifa decided to keeping pushing her luck. "I'm Tifa. Is this your first festival?" She honestly wasn't sure what other events were held on Zephon, and she was looking forward to seeing if there even was other ones. If she was going to be living here from now on, she was looking forward to what this new world had to offer for its people. So far, it held beauty and that was a plus for her.
As she looked around, she noticed there was another area next to the one they were in. There were more apples over there, but she wasn't really sure if that was an area they were supposed to be in. When she paid her fee, the attendant didn't say anything about how far they could go. From what she could see, there were a ton of apples, so she could only guess that it was a popular part of the festival and more people might join them soon.

Terra could not help but turn toward Tifa as she spoke about how cooking them into pies was a great idea but eating them plain was also a great idea. It was a little refreshing to have someone there that could understand her intentions. The compliment to the nature of the apples that they were picking made her nod in agreement. These apples reminded her of a few that she had seen before her world had gone through hell.
”Terra. My name is Terra.” She responded quickly and with an almost practiced tone to her introduction. It was as if she had been mentally running it through her mind over and over. Like she needed to do it just to maintain some semblance of memorization to the words. Moving to a tree that was closer between the two women Terra could not help but nod toward Tife acknowledging her as she moved.
Finally placing herself in full view for the slightly taller woman Terra turned back to grabbing an apple off the tree. She had been mulling over the question about if this was her first festival or not and she knew the answer. Yet she had been trying to figure out the right way to say that it was. Mostly because iof this was a local Zephonian person then she did not want to insult them. Though getting over her apprehension she stood on her tiptoes and grabbed another apple and dropped it into her basket.
“This is my first festival here. It is a welcome thing though. A rather simple reminder of home… Even if home is far away from here.” As she spoke she held another apple she had grabbed from the tree and looked down at it. She was purposely not saying many things as she had no idea that Tifa was not from here just like herself.

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
Tifa was trying to think of more things she could do with the apples, but wasn't coming up with any. She wasn't much of a baker, but she was sure she knew some other things. Maybe it was because she wanted to think of a recipe that none were coming to her. "Oh! Apple fritters too. I haven't had one of those in a long time." She was pretty happy that she finally thought of another one, and now she was more excited to get these home to start making things for the bar.
"Hello Terra!" After the last couple of days Tifa had, she was glad to be talking to someone that had no idea who she was and wasn't seeing right after a confrontation with her, um, former? Enemy. The other girl moved closer and Tifa gave her a smile. When she had picked apples as a kid, it was mostly only boys that had come to help. That being said, there was more apple throwing than anything, and the mothers were never happy to find out that not all the apples made it home for baking. So, she was glad the apples went from tree to basket here.
Listening to Terra talk, Tifa was glad to find out they were both here for the first time. This way, Tifa wouldn't have the chance to say something odd or wrong. "I agree. I used to pick apples as a child, so it's nice to be reminded of something happy from my past." Not saying her whole past was a bad memory, just a lot of the recent ones. Even if Sephiroth couldn't remember the horrible things he had done, didn't mean they were wiped from her memory as well.
Curiousity getting the best of her, she turned toward the other girl. "So is this your home world, or were you also pulled from home?" Honestly, she wasn't sure if their origins were supposed to kept secret from other people or not, but she wasn't sure why that would be a thing. It's not like it was some big secret.

Hearing Tifa mention Apple Fritters made Terra chuckle a little. Such simple things that the two of them enjoyed it seemed. For Terra it was but eating them raw or in a pie and it seemed that Tifa enjoyed them inside of this other manner. There would be no judging from her though on this. Hearing Tifa chime up about her own childhood made her smile and quickly she responded to her on that.
”You used to pick them when you were little? That does sound like a great memory…” Terra let her words trail off as she could not remember a single thing from her earliest years of development. As she knew full well that her entire life was just that she was to be a weapon. A weapon without any thought or actions and yet thanks to Tritoch and her friends she was able to actually find herself. Even if it took many years for her to get to this point.
Though as the silence began to extend between the two of them Terra was about to say something but it seemed that Tifa’s curiosity was getting the better of herself. The question was a simple one and one that Terra really did not mind answering for those that she figured were also travelers to this world. Glancing over at Tifa from the corner of her eye she decided at that moment to be honest and genuine with her.
”I was pulled here inside of a strange fog. I was out protecting my home from a new influx of monsters and while difficult without my gifts to aid me I had taken down a weak monster. The fog rolled in on me while I was on my way home and I rested in a natural hollow of a tree. When I emerged I was here in the crystal clear sunshine of the day.” She spoke honestly but without revealing a lot of what she truly was. All she mentioned was her gifts and hopefully Tifa did not ask her to show her gifts as it had been quite a while since the last time she attempted a Morph to her Esperkin look. (( Tifa Lockhart ))

As she spoke about her past, it seemed Terra zoned out a bit as her words trailed off at the end. Tifa wanted to ask about it, but fought with herself on if she should. Her caring nature wanted to push forward, but she didn't want to be rude or intruding to someone she didn't know. "It was. Did you do anything like that as a kid? Or did you grow up in a city?" That seemed like a simple enough question, but not too provoking. If she didn't want to talk, Tifa would also respect that.
Tifa knew that if someone were to inquire about her life, she would tell them her happier memories. Her hometown, the bar, traveling. Though a lot of those things held horrible memories as well, she had to remember that they also held happy ones. It was what had gotten her this far in her life. Well, personality wise anyways. Physically, she had no idea what had brought her to where she was now. Maybe she would never know...
It seemed as though her curiousity would be satisfied anyways. Terra began telling her about herself and Tifa had turned her body to face the other girl to give her full attention to the person next to her. So she fought mosters as well. Maybe the two girls had a lot more in common than Tifa had thought. Terra had mentioned something about having gifts. Thinking it was something along the lines of materia, she didn't push that subject any further.
"I had about the same experience in a way. My and my friends fought a, well, we'll call it a monster. He was attacking the planet, and it took us a long time to finally get to him. We won, but the next day, I woke up here." It was hard descibing Sephiroth to someone, but she didn't want to give it away that he was actually human, and also here on Zephon as well. No need to cause alarm when it didn't need to be.

Terra could not help herself as she kept a smile on her face as she picked a couple more of the brilliant red apples and tossed them into her basket. Though the smile did slip a little as she was asked if she had done this as a kid. ”I did grow up inside of a city… I barely saw the outside of the city growing up as I was.. Special and they did not let me out of sight to often…”
Terra was not going to divulge all the experiments and everything else that she had been subjected to over her earliest years of life. That was a topic that she would only really speak with a few people about. No matter how nice Tifa seemed she had not gained Terra’s trust to that extent yet. “How about yourself? Growing up had to be a pleasant experience for you. Especially if you have fond memories like doing this in the past.”
Though as Tifa turned to give her her full attention Terra could not help but feel herself shrink away a little. It was still a natural reflex for her despite everything that she had been through. Hearing Tifa explain everything that she had been through actually brought a little sense of calm over Terra. As she had found someone it seemed that was a kindred spirit to her. Someone who had been through hell and came out the other side mostly the same. Awaiting Tifa to finish up Terra set down her basket and glanced around the orchard. It seemed that they were still alone and that was good.
”Something similar happened in my world. Except the man who attacked our planet won the first major battle of our world. Took over the very focus of magics on our world and used it to mete out justice to any who slighted him. Though as you said it took us a long time and many hardships but we also managed to defeat our madman… It was at a major cost though as magic itself was sucked away from our use and that… hurt me more than many.” She would leave an explanation for later as Tifa needed only the barest of information for right now. There would be a simple explanation and would show her the example rather simply. Despite her standing there she was very apprehensive speaking about this to anyone outside of those she had experienced it all with. (( Tifa Lockhart ))

PROMISE YOU'LL COME AND SAVE ME
As Terra explained a little more of her past, Tifa gave a nod. "City life is still nice. Outside of it just has, more to offer. I'm sorry you had to be under close observation, but it seemed they cared about you?" That might have been a completely wrong assumption, but Tifa was hoping she was helping. Though, she could be making it worse. Sometimes, she didn't know what to say, but didn't want to say anything at all. That was the life of someone who cared about people a little too much sometimes.
The next thing Terra said made Tifa smile, but also made her turn her attention to the tree she was currently at. "I did have a good childhood. Doing things like this, helping out around town. Growing up was a little like that too, but the happy was less and less over, as it usually is. You get more responsibilities, see things differently as you get older. I still like to hold on to the happy ones though, they're more helpful with getting through the day." That's the only reason she was still standing her today, if she was being honest.
Tifa could sense that Terra wasn't quite comfortable just yet, and Tifa did not hold that against her one bit. Not everyone was like her, able to just talk to really anyone. In truth, Tifa was still rather shy herself. Bartending had helped that quite a bit, and her adventures with AVALANCHE as well. Starting conversations were still tricky for her, but once they got going, words just flowed out for her.
Terro started telling her story, and Tifa just listened. Their stories were quite alike, and she was a little glad for that. Not their stories in general, but that they had a connection in a way. "Yeah, our planet took some beatings, as did we all. I'm sorry to hear that. Are you okay now though? I can see if I can find someone to help you if you need?" She was sure Aerith would know what to do in a case like this, she was always the helpful one.

”There were a couple of people that cared about me… They did what they could for me growing up.” Terra spoke up in response with a little smile crossing her lips. The few memories that she had of her past about when Cid had shown her and Celes a day away from Vector. Those few fleeting days were the best days of her life until she was freed from the Slave Crown.
Though she saw the smile cross Tifa’s lips from what she had said made her feel warm inside. As to have someone else smile at her words or actions was really one of the few things that she did intentionally. Listening to her speak about her childhood did nothing but make her feel happy. To know that there are places that were untouched to the madness she knew in her life. That was a simple thing and yet things always seemed to circle in and around itself and happen over and over again. Though as she spoke up telling her about how her own planet took a beating and then apologized to her. It caught Terra a little off guard and yet she would not show much emotion quite yet.
“Since coming here to Zephon I have… recovered some of the strength that I had. Not everything but alot of my strength has been returned to me. So for now… yes I am alright. Though if there is anyone that you think could help I would not mind meeting them. As I am never against meeting someone that has been through the things I have also gone through.” Terra spoke softly and without really thinking as she could feel the magic swirl about her for a moment. In that moment from her right hand up and over her body in a wave of magic she would shimmer to her Esperkin form. Then it would vanish just as fast as it flashed before Tifa’s eyes.
Lowering her head for a moment she could not help herself as she turned back to the tree. “Where I came from… I am the last one alive that can do what I do. It is a burden to know that my own actions basically killed half of myself, but I have lived with that. I live with that knowing that by doing this I managed to save so many more people.”
