"Get ready , ZEPHRON, for YUFFIE!"
The Great Ninja Yuffie!
"Eh, how hard can it be? I've ridden a golden chocobo, and those things are WILD," Yuffie replied casually as Caius seemed to try and imply that she was still going to struggle with a dragon, despite the fact she had just explained how she was awesome and therefore would be fine. "And I've summoned dragons. And fought dragons. And fought dragons by summoning dragons. I'm pretty much a dragon pro," she added confidently. Which wasn't untrue, even if Cloud did most of the dragon summoning because, as she recalled, 'nobody was going to trust her with Neo Bahamut'. "Nah, he likes me best," she said dismissively when Caius claimed that Vordun liked everybody. "Yes you do, yes you do, don't you, you big bad flying death machine you," she continued to baby talk him as she scratched him under his chin.
She jumped back a little when he summoned a saddle seemingly from nowhere. "Whooooa. How'd you do THAT?" she asked, approaching the saddle and prodding it with one finger curiously. "I get you can teleport and stuff, but you can just make STUFF appear outta nowhere? Could you make gil appear? Ohhh, or materia?" she asked enthusiastically. The ability to make anything appear was clearly pretty awesome magic, and as such, she immediately wanted to learn it. Of course, the fact that it'd nearly get rid of the need for materia entirely hadn't crossed her mind, since her first thought was simply using it to make more materia...
"Uh, I'm a deadly super skilled ninja who helped save the world, of COURSE I can get on a dragon myself," she said with her usual brazen confidence. "Watch THIS!" And then, she took a run up, leaping into the air and flipping around to land on the saddle with the perfect ninja twist.
It looked impressive. It would have looked more impressive if when she landed on the saddle she'd found the reigns in time, instead of carrying straight on and sliding straight off the other side with a cry of; "WuhwhoawhoaWHOA!" before a crash as she fell clean off the other side of Vordun, who seemed to turn his head to look at where she had landed on the floor with what she assumed passed for dragon-amusement.
"Don't laugh at me, you... mean... dragon..." she groaned from the floor, sitting up and rubbing her head. She quickly got back to her feet, brushing herself off. "Uh, that was, um, a practice run. But why don't you get on first, so, uh, just, y'know, I can fully focus on my getting-on." By which she meant she wanted to copy how Caius did it, of course.

The Dragonblades
"And said dragons are larger, scalier and likely much faster in the air" Caius pointed out, but left it at that. Yuffie's apparent resume was impressive, but it really didn't mean anything on that matter. He had fought gods and still had to learn how to ride Vordun properly. With practice. A lot of it. And a lot of falling off, at that. But Yuffie was quickly distracted when Caius would summon the saddle. She thought it was making things literally appear, but it wasn't... Exactly like that.
"It's more of a pocket compartment tied to my warping abilities" Caius tried to simplify it best he could. "It can't summon anything and can't hold anything. But it gets the job done when it comes to storage."
Because he wasn't going to haul a saddle with him everywhere he went. Nah uh. Way too heavy considering this was a dragon saddle we were talking about here. Yuffie would be welcomed to try and climb aboard Vordun herself, but quickly found that this was a more difficult effort than she had anticipated. As Caius had predicted, she slid straight off the other side and crashed to the ground. Caius peered over from behind Vordun to see if she was okay. She was. Vordun meanwhile, just stared at her blankly with head tilted in confusion. He really was just a giant puppy dog.
Yuffie claimed that it was just a practice run, and Caius stared at her with half-lidded eyes and a curt nod in response, clearly not believing her but choosing to play along for the time being. Caius would promptly climb up onto Vordun with practiced form. Of course, the height difference would ensure that Yuffie wasn't able to copy him exactly. So Caius would prepare to grab her to keep her steady if she fell again.

"Get ready , ZEPHRON, for YUFFIE!"
The Great Ninja Yuffie!
"Exactly!" Yuffie responded cheerfully. "If I can fight a way bigger, way scalier dragon, I can definitely ride a smaller one. Don't worry, I got this!" she exclaimed, full of her usual confidence. She paused to see how Caius did it, took a moment to take a run up to compensate for her lack of height, ran, did a small jump, grabbed Caius's hand, half missed the saddle, nearly fell off, but this time managed to cling to him. "WhoawhoawhoaWHOA!" she shrieked, before finally wrapping both of her arms around his waist to stop her falling. And then she let out a small laugh and let him go. "See, easy as pie?" she grinned unconvincingly.
"Soooo, you have like, an alternate dimension you can stash loot in? That's SO cool. Do I get one of those? Now I'm a Dragonblade an' all?" Yuffie asked, keeping up her usual perkiness and good cheer. There was a lot she could do with an invisible storage portal. It'd make stealing a BREEZE! And imagine all of the materia she could store in there for any given emergency. And of course, add any materia that she found to it too...
"Okay, I made it, I'm ready. Let's gooooooooooo!" Yuffie announced, pointing dramatically at the sky, and then remembering what she was doing and grabbing back onto Caius for support. "But, um, maybe slowly at first, yeah?" she said with a slightly less enthused laugh.

The Dragonblades
Knowing the inevitable disaster that was to come when Yuffie jumped, Caius would hold out an arm for her to grab when she did. Yuffie would grab his hand and then promptly nearly splattered on the ground before grabbing onto him. The mercenary's gaze told the story. Eyes dropped and half-lidded, staring at the ninja with a blank, deadpan stare that wondered why he had gotten out of bed today. Once Yuffie was somewhat secure for the time being, she would let go and act like everything was fine. At least, it would be fine until they got up into the air. Then it wouldn't be fine.
She was distracted for a moment by his description of his abilities, and as he predicted, she wanted to be taught it. "It's kind of a unique ability to a certain group from my world. Not really something I can teach" Caius admitted with a shrug of his shoulders. Wasn't really anything he could do about that. Besides, Kingsglaive training was probably a bad idea to put in Yuffie's hands anyway. So maybe it was better that Caius was unable to train her to do so. Either way, she was soon ready to go. They would have to see just how long that eagerness would last.
Though this time, she would inquire as to if they could start slow. "Well, first we need to get you secured in" Caius pointed down towards the saddle. With that, he would turn and begin securing the clips and snaps to ensure that Yuffie wouldn't fall off, motioning for her to hook her legs into the sides. With that done, he would turn back around, finish securing himself and then scratch behind Vordun's ears to get him settled in.
"Alright, so you said you wanted to go as fast as possible right?" inquired Caius as Vordun would rise up and begin to get a running start.
Disappointment flickered across Yuffie's face as Caius confirmed he couldn't teach her his universe warping trick. Well, that was sucky. What was even the point of becoming a Dragonblade if you didn't get ker-azy magic powers out of it?
Well, Yuffie supposed it was still a cool name.
"Aw, hey, I get it. It's kinda like me bein' a total badass. Some things just can't be taught," she grinned, although it was obvious Yuffie was playing around.
She, unusually for Yuffie, followed his safety instructions regarding strapping herself in. The fact that she didn't make any quips about ninjas not needing seatbelts or how she was too awesome to need to tie herself to a dragon was probably a bigger indicator that she was actually slightly nervous than anything else she had said so far. Still, she steadfastly refused to admit it, even as she looked back at Caius as he joked back about going as fast as possible.
"Oh, I'm totally ready to go SUPER fast!" she replied. "But, uh, Vordun isn't used to having two people on his back. So um, best we go slow. For his sake, yeah?" she suggested quickly. Not because flying super fast on a dragon wouldn't be AWESOME, but mostly because Yuffie was still aware of her travel sickness, and not exactly entirely sure if she would be okay on a dragon or not. She was suspecting not, and she didn't want to do anything to encourage that...

The Dragonblades
Yuffie seemed to take the news rather well that she couldn't learn how to warp. Sure, she was clearly disappointed, but she played it off with her usual confidence. He still rolled his eyes at her claims, though this time he at least seemed slightly amused at her antics. Now that he had begun to grow used to them. And at the least she actually listened when he gave instructions on strapping herself in, instead of trying to act like she didn't need them. That would have been a serious pain, and not one he was going to tolerate. So at least she was grown enough to manage that.
Though one thing that was definitely worth all the trouble was listening her try to make excuses for why she didn't want him to make Vordun go fast. She claimed that Vordun wasn't used to having two people on his back! Something that made Caius audibly scoff. "Of course he can, he ferries passengers all the time" Caius disputed, deciding in this instance to fight fire with fire this one time as Vordun began his running start. "So I'm happy to indulge your request, miss Yuffie. You said you're 'totally ready to go super fast' right? Alright! Let's go Vordun! Super fast!" Caius chirped far too cheerily as Vordun finished his run and would soon shoot into the air.
Of course, Caius had tapped Vordun's head in a specific way to indicate to the dragon that they were to start slow, unbeknownst to Yuffie. The dragon didn't understand why Caius had said "fast" and signed for slow, but the sign was usually the end all be all for commands, just in case Caius was unable to communicate verbally. So that was the order that the dragon was going to follow.

"Get ready , ZEPHRON, for YUFFIE!"
The Great Ninja Yuffie!
"Huh, well, okay then. Noooo problem!" Yuffie agreed to the 'going fast' thing, while she desperately tried to think of an excuse to not agree to the 'going fast' thing. "He knows I don't have a weird alternate dimension storage pouch like you, right? 'cause if my shuriken falls off and goes flying it might stab someone, like, RIGHT in the eye and be all gross and bloody and stuff, and then that'd be your fault 'cause you're the driver? So, y'know, maybe, it's safest to go slow..." she suggested, the idea suddenly coming to her. She did, of course, stop to mime blood gushing out of an eye part way through her excuse too, because some things just had to be done.
However, it didn't seem to stop him, and he kicked off, with the dragon taking to the air. While it didn't seem PARTICULARLY fast to Yuffie, who had at least experienced flying on the Highwind (well, she had experienced laying on the deck of the Highwind trying not to hurl while it flew), it was a very different experience, sitting on the back of a soaring dragon rather than actually on an airship itself. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Yuffie yelled out as the air flew past, her arms flailing slightly. Perhaps the small mercy was that she didn't feel as sick as she usually would; it turned out she really WAS better at riding animals than vehicles. In a vehicle, where you were detached from the moving... whatever it was, well, her stomach couldn't handle it, but on the back of a dragon? It was just like a chocobo. A chocobo you had no control over because somebody else was flying it. And it could go up and down too and you felt the lurch and beat of every huge leathery wing.
"Hrk." Nope, never mind, there it was. Her hand flew to her mouth, and Yuffie turned a particular shade of green as the dragon began to take them on their journey. She let out a groan, and half sunk into Caius's back as she clung on for what was rapidly becoming dear life. "Um.... just.... uh.... it's... it's super.... awesome.... going this fast.... but.... uh.... tell... tell Vordun... he can... he can slow down.... if he likes...." she said weakly, clearly feeling very ill.
She let out a long groan, and buried her head between her hands for a moment, against Caius's back. "Um, totally unrelated.... I don't... suppose dragons come with... sick bags?" she groaned uncomfortably.

The Dragonblades
Yuffie was still making excuses, which made Caius roll his eyes and smirk slightly. Her antics continued to be almost endearing, even if she was far too prideful for her own good. But it wasn't going to stop him from scaring the pants off her as Vordun took off. Despite the fact that he had ensured Vordun wouldn't take off too quickly, Yuffie screamed at the top of her lungs as they shot into the air.
Caius of course seemed completely unphased by the takeoff, having to hold in his laughter at Yuffie's screeching. It was a far cry from when he had first learned to ride with Yuna. It had been very difficult, and Caius had fallen off over, and over, and over, and over again. He had gathered a nice set of bumps and bruises before he and Vordun were able to operate as one enough for Caius to not fall off or otherwise be inconvenienced by the dragon's flight.
Though Caius realized pretty quickly that Yuffie was getting sick. While he had enacted a small bit of mischief to ensure that Yuffie got hers for her hubris, he did not actually wish for the girl to suffer. "Huh. What do you know. I think Vordun actually heard you" Caius pretended to muse aloud. "It seems he agrees that he wouldn't want your shurikens "splooshing" people, so he decided to go slow anyway. Lucky them, aye?"
He figured that would at least allow Yuffie to know they were indeed going slow this whole time and settle her nerves a bit. "While I don't have sick bags, we can slow a little more if you like. Though there isn't much slower we can go without falling out of the sky, we're practically on cruise already. I do have water if you need it, but if you must -- please throw up over the side."

"Get ready , ZEPHRON, for YUFFIE!"
The Great Ninja Yuffie!
Yuffie groaned when Caius mentioned that he could slow Vordun down if she wanted. While that did seem like it might make her feel slightly less like she was going to throw her own stomach up out of her mouth, she did also think that getting to where they were going faster might be the best option. She just groaned, half slumping against Caius's back. "No, no, I'm... I'm good... the sooner we get there... the..." she stopped to wretch, and force any potential vomit back down, and just let out a long groan. Ugh, this had been a terrible idea. She hated flying. Why oh why hadn't she stuck to the original plan?
Oh yeah, 'cause dragons were cool. But she decided dragons were definitely better being admired from the ground.
"Y'knoooow, you could at least be a little sympathetic, I'm dyin' back here...." she said with a groan, when he told her there were no sick bags, but she could have water if she wanted. As if that'd help. Honestly, she just wanted to get back on the ground as soon as possible. Cautiously, she looked over the edge, peering down at the ground below. It didn't help. Below she saw the ground whizzing by, and the tiny trees. Wow, they were high up. This was not a place to fall off.
Okay, deep breaths, Yuffie she thought to herself, breathing in and trying to focus as her stomach did somersaults. She tried to think back, what was that advice Cloud had given her on the Highwind for dealing with motion sickness? She thought back, trying to picture him speaking in her head.
Blah blah blah, I'm Cloud, I totally lied about who I was, but everybody's fine with that even though they were really moody with you for lying about stealing their materia. Look at my spikey hair. Isn't it dumb? Blah blah blah.
Darn it! Why hadn't she paid attention? She just groaned again.
"Um, so, like, not that I'm not doing totally awesome back here, but, uh, how much further is it?" she groaned miserably.

The Dragonblades
Caius was clearly enjoying this, having a hard time containing his laughter at Yuffie's hubris getting the better of her. After all she had said and done in the last day, she had deserved this, even if he didn't actually wish any harm upon her. But her paying in being a little queasy because she thought she was too cool to just say that riding a dragon would make her sick, was enough. Luckily, atop Vordun it wasn't too far from Torensten to Provo. Vordun was so used to this trip that the dragon could make it easily enough just from flying the right way and knowing the winds well enough.
"I am being sympathetic, I did offer water" Caius teased with a cheerful smile as Yuffie lamented the apparent lack of support for her condition. Oh, so she admitted she was having a hard time, then? Alright, it was clear that the boastful ninja had suffered enough. It wasn't long after that she asked about how long it would be.
"Not much longer" Caius answered, peering down at the ground below as he tried to get a good gauge of where they were. It was easy for time to pass quite quickly up here for Caius. This was his natural environment, so to speak. He was comfortable with Vordun to the point that these flights seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. Shame he still hadn't mastered how to read a book while he was up here, though. "We can, however, land to take a break if you need it" Caius brought up, lending Yuffie the sympathy that she claimed she wasn't getting. "And please don't pull the tough girl act on this. If you need to get on your land legs for a bit, there's no shame in asking. If you can hold out, it shouldn't be much longer. But I don't mind stopping to get on your feet for a little bit. The first flight's always a doozy. Maybe when we have time, I'll tell you all about my first time."
