TEACH THEM BOYS A LESSON
Cindy was not a fan of this weather. Sure, she could do her work in a heated garage, but what fun was that? Also, the things that were brought to her ended up being a little wet, and that was a little irritating after a while. Since there weren't a lot of cars in Zephon, Cindy had started to learn to work on other things. Some had been a hit and some had not. Technology for one, didn't go well with her. It had only taken her a day working on some gadgets to realize that it was not for her.
In her spare time, she had been working on building a robot to compete in the battles she had attended not too long ago. She wasn't sure if it was a popular thing, but it seemed like a good way to pass the time. Using the small scraps from things, she was also building little sculptures. Nothing too crazy, but she thought they were pretty cute. They were mostly just little animals, but they were fun to make.
Stretching her arms a bit, she decided it was time to wrap up for the day. She put everything away and headed towards the shower. After, she wasn't quite ready to call it a day so she decided to try to find some interesting parts in Sonora, since she had gotten everything she could from Provo. There was a lot of people that didn't like Sonora, but she didn't really get into personal things, so she had no problem with it.
After her day of "shopping", it was time to relax. Cindy had her normal attire on, as she really didn't own much else. There was no need to for her. She didn't get cold easily, but she still had on dark orange jacket to match, which she hung up once she entered the bar. Shaking her head a little, she hit her shoes on the floor before walking over to the small group that had formed.
There was only one person she didn't know, other than the bartender of course. The girl was pretty and looked like she could definitely hold her own in a fight. That was perfect for a bartender at a place that didn't seem to have a bouncer. Deciding not to sit for a moment, she went over and stood slight behind Noctis and Prompto with a greeting smile. "Well, well. What do we have here? What brings you two over this way?" That might have been the wrong thing to ask.
Turning her attention to Caius, she gave a small wave. "Fancy seeing you here. Who's your friend?" The other man didn't look familiar, but that wasn't a surprise. She didn't know many people quite yet. Turning to the bartender, she gave her a friendly smile. "I'll just have a pint of your house beer please." Cindy wasn't much of a drinker, but a beer every now and again didn't hurt.

Cindy had returned home after her and Caius had dealt with the low life that had scammed her. Well, Caius mostly, since she wasn't one to confront people about anything. She always believed karma would come full circle for people like that, but others weren't as patient as her. Of course, she had her work to distract her from anything that bothered her, so she would usually forget about it anyways. Cindy wasn't the type to get all worked up over simple things, there were more important things in life.
Like getting back to the shop and getting her hands greasy. Now that was something to take the mind off of things. Well, if there was something to do. Zephon didn't have a lot of vehicles, so her workload was usually pretty small. In her spare time, she worked on the car that she was rebuilding, so she decided to do that when she gotten back from dealing with the scumbag. The car ran, and it ran pretty well. Now the only thing she had to do was make it look nice.
Paint for cars was pretty hard to come by around Zephon, but she had managed to get her hands on some. The colors weren't really her favorite, black and orange, but they would have to do for now. She had already gotten primer on it, which had taken her about a week to find, so she was ready to start the actual paint job.
As she painted, she thought back to her conversation with Caius. Noctis was here, but she was still curious about the others. Noctis knew he had become king, but just how much did he really know? She didn't know everything herself, but she knew enough not to bring it up if she were to ever run into him. Stepping back, she looked over her work. She had painted the car orange first, and then put a light layer of black over it so the orange would still show through a little bit. Not her best work, but it would have to do for now.

Cindy was actually a little surprised to hear that Vordun liked fish, but it did make sense. "He has good taste." Cindy was a pretty big fan of fish, though she was fan of all food in general. Customers would bring them dishes sometimes as thanks or just because, so she got to try all sorts of things growing up. That was probably one reason she took forever to decide what to eat. Did she eat something she knew she liked, or try something new? "I don't blame ya."
"I can tell." Cindy pointed out, indicating she could tell he wasn't the best liar. Cindy was only a little worried though. If Noctis and his friends could go on the adventure they did and given his family history, she was sure Noctis would be fine after everything sank in. "He may be young, but I'm sure he'll be alright after a bit." Then she thought that maybe Caius knew more. "Do you know if his friends are here too?"
Cindy listened to his story and smiled a little bit. "As strange as this may sound, but I have never been on a chocobo before. I didn't leave the shop too often, and when I did, it was to pick up a broken down car and tow it back." She loved her papa, but he never really let Cindy venture out on her own. Not because he didn't want her to, but he needed her around the shop.
"Oh you're more than welcome to do that. I'm not a confrontation person, so I would end up just dropping the car off and leaving. So someone being there to put him in his place would be helpful." Maybe Caius could convince the guy to never do this again. Hopefully.
Shivering a little, Cindy gave a nod. "I've heard about those, and I'm glad to say I've never seen one in person." That was one reason that she was glad her papa never let her go off on her own, she was a lover not a fighter. The waiter came around and Cindy ordered the first thing she saw that she liked since they had spent so much time talking that she hadn't even looked at menu. It was some sort of pasta thing, so she expected it would be good. Adding a tea to it, she waited for Caius to order as well.

"We worked up quite an appetite today." Between moving the car and finding people to help, it had been quite the day so far. Speaking of doing a lot of work. "What does that partner of yours eat anyways?" She had never been around a dragon, or really learned anything about them for that matter. It would be good to know, just in case she ever ran into one in the future.
The way he spoke almost made her stop dead in her tracks. Cindy could tell when someone was lying, she had been in the customer service industry for far too long to not be able to. "Awe man, well I hope he's okay. He is far too timid to analyze things properly." Whenever she saw him in the past, he had no idea what he was even doing, or had very little idea. The fact that she had no idea if the other three were here to help him also worried her.
Cindy gave a small shrug. "My papa taught me to drive when I was about five. Living in a small town in the middle of nowhere had its advantages. You could go somewhere to drive without endangering anyone." Those were definitely some of her best memories. She listened to his story, nodding where she should nod. Looking around, she noticed he was right. "Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a need for cars here, which should have been another sign with that jerk."
When his grip tightened, she felt a little more calm. She was relieved when he got a table away from the hustle and bustle of everything. She was glad for that because it would make her just a little less nervous. Eating anywhere made her a little anxious sometimes because she was the kind of person to take her time looking things over to find the meal she really wanted, and it wasn't fun when there was people around.
"Dragonblades, I think I've heard that. Just in passin' though." Cindy tried not to listen in on too much. Most of it didn't really concern her anyways. There was times where her customers would rant to her while they waited for their service to be done, and she just tuned them out half the time. "Well aren't you just the helpful type." She gave him a smile, but it wasn't meant to be rude. He did a lot for people, and she had to appreciate that.

"I'll hold you to that." Cindy had always been a friendly person, even though her personality could seem a bit, different at times. She wasn't rude, but she would tell you straight up how she felt. "I'm always game for food." It was the way to her heart. If you ever pissed Cindy off, bringing her food was a good way to start mending things with her. She liked just about everything and anything. When you worked at a mechanic shop in the middle of pretty much no where, you had to eat what you could get.
"Yes I am, the Leide region to be more specific. Why do-" She then listened to him. So he knew them, well Noctis at least. This was a surprising turn of events. "I was taken while Regis was ruling and Noctis was off to see miss Lunafreya. I think that's what he said, he wasn't much of a talker. That was all Prompto, but his words were all jumbled half the time." Poor Prompto.
Cindy did notice that he had said King Noctis, but that wasn't a surprise to her. He was next for the throne after all, and Regis wasn't his young self anymore. Being the king also made you a target, so anything could have happened to him to have his son take over. It seemed the Noctis Caius knew was all grown up, but the one she knew was here. "Don't tell him what he grows up to be like, it might stress the poor guy out."
There had to be things that changed Noctis to become the king Caius knew, and she wasn't sure she wanted to know what that was. He was a quite the young man, though a bit odd. If he was more serious in the future, well he didn't need to know that now. It was a different world and their futures were going to be much different. Though she was curious what her future self was like, she decided not to ask. If he wanted to tell her, that's fine, but she wasn't going to dig for it. She was fine with who she was now.
"Cars match their owners, if that makes any sense at all. Yours for example? You have to put a lot of work into it, just like I assume you had to put a lot of work into who you are today." Leave it to Cindy to compare cars to humans. "I never really had a vehicle all to myself. People would leave their unwanted cars with us and I would work on them and use them until another one came around and I sold the current one." She was planning on buying her own, but she had never gotten around to it.
Following Caius out onto the street, she looked around. She wasn't used to bigger places like this, and she wasn't sure she wanted to get used to it. She liked little towns where everyone knew each other and it was just a short walk to get anywhere. When the crowds stopped, she would take his arm. Cindy liked people, but this was a little much for her. The little place he led her to was pretty. Yes, she caught that little fact. "Co-leader? So you're a big boss type, are ya?"

Cindy gave a chuckle. "Not sayin' that directly since I don't know ya that well, but if you're anything more like them, I'll have to stand firm on what I said." She gave a wink to let him know she was messing around, for the most part. Caius did remind her of Noctis and the boys, which is why she felt comfortable around him. Plus, he was helping her even though he barely knew her. There was still a chance that this could all be a trap, but it seemed less likely every minute.
"I'm not sure what it was called, all that I know is that the amount of things they could carry was way more than any normal person, and it appeared out of nowhere really." As he continued to talk, what he was saying definitely matched the four idiots. "Yeah, that sounds about right. Noctis and his friends showed up at my shop needing help with the Regalia. I nearly beat him over the head for letting anything happen to that beauty."
Caius mentioned that they needed to take the helpers to the car and she gave a nod. "Business first, I get it." Before she could add anything else, Tomoe said she could figure out where it was. "Sure thing. It's an older type, not much to look at to be honest. That should have been my first red flag." That was when she should have just walked away and told the guy to kick dirt. She wasn't that kind of person, when she says she's going to do something, she follows through.
"It's a dark brown, but I don't think that was the original color. Round around the edges, could have been a sports car at one point. Not a good one though, there's not even a hood scoop on it, it's just flat. It has two doors and the small back windows are broken. It's near the entrance of town I believe, not too far from here." She hoped that helped.
Cindy watched and gave a smile as the ladies walked away to find the car. Looking around, she noticed she was a little out of her element. She didn't mind though, she liked to stand out. Turning to Caius, she tilted her head to the side. "Lead the way!" She wasn't sure if they patrons were welcoming or not, so it was best to let Caius go first since he knew the place better.

"Sometimes it's best to learn that way, stick in the brain a whole lot better." Caius told her briefly of one of his experiences and she had to give a nod. "You sound like a group of guys I know from back home. I swear they never learned anything." Of course she was talking about Noctis and his group. They were always gettin' themselves in all sorts of stuff. Though, it did make for some mighty fine entertainment when she met up with them again. She was glad they knew how to defend themselves pretty well.
When the saddle appeared, it didn't take Cindy by surprise. The boys could do things like that, so she had seen it before. Though, she couldn't recall any of them having a saddle, but it wouldn't surprise her in the least. "You guys can do that too? I have some friends from my home that can, but they usually just kept food and weapons around." Mostly food, mostly noodles.
Listening to his advice, Cindy reached down and strapped her legs in. "Yeah, I've ridden motorcycles a lot in my life, so it's habit now to just grab on. I feel like this won't be too much different, if you really think about it." Except one goes into the air and is much bigger. Oh, and doesn't have wheels. Cindy wasn't scared of too many things, so this was just another thrill for her, and a thrill she got with Vordun took off. "Well I'll be, he's just as excited as I am!"
People seemed to be excited to see Vordun too, in a good way. It seemed he was welcome in the city, and she was happy to see that. Once they stopped, Cindy took Caius' hand and dismounted as well, making sure to give Vordun a small pet before he took off again. Stepping inside, she instantly took a liking to where they were. She wasn't one for lavish places, she enjoyed places like this a lot more.
Once she was starting to see more people, she was a little confused when they all started saluting and she turned back to Caius. He must be someone important to them. She gave a wave and a smile, to be polite. "Yeah, I got myself into a bit of a pickle." Cindy stated as she rubbed the back of her head. She listened to the conversation and laughed. "Be my guest! He deserves a good lickin' after all of this. Who knows what he puts others through!"
"Thanks for you help. If you ever need anything done on a vehicle or other similar things, find me and I'll set ya straight on the house." She wasn't really sure if she would end up being helpful to them, but she extended the offer anyways. Looking over to Caius, she smiled. "Where's this food you were talking about?" Leave it to Cindy to think about her stomach first.

Vordun seemed like a dedicated partner, and she was glad a creature such as him was able to be accepted. Cindy couldn't help but giggle when Caius got attacked with love from his companion. To be honest, Cindy wasn't really that interested in how they became the way they are. The only thing that mattered to her was that Caius wasn't in danger and the two got along. She wasn't one to judge people based on their past, but what they had to offer in the present and she looked toward the future.
"Yeah, I can see that as well. He wasn't much of a talker either, which should've been a clue. Ah well, lesson learned." Cindy was pretty disappointed, but she wasn't going to let it ruin her day. She would just finish the task, and be done with it. In a way, it was something to do to past the time anyways. Since she had arrived here, she hadn't met many people, so she spent her days just working on random cars and exploring.
Caius agreed to her deal and she gave him a nod. The next thing she knew, he was climbing up onto Vordun and offering his hand. "Aw man, no kidding? Count me in!" She took his hand and climbed up as well. She had never been on a dragon before, but had been on a motorcyle, so her first instinct was to wrap her arms around Caius for stability since she had no idea what to do with her hands. He could tell her otherwise, but that was her plan for now.
Torensten was a place she had never been to, so she was glad to have a chance to learn the area with someone who seemed to know his way around. "I'm countin' on you to pick a good place to eat." With what she knew of the man so far, she was sure he would pick a good place. Cindy loved food, so there was a slim chance he would pick something she didn't like.

"Partner seems like a better word for, and I'm sure he likes it a lot better as well." Pet did seem a little far fetched when it came to a giant being like that. Cindy listened as he told their story and she gave a smile. "So y'all have a cute story instead of a scary one, nothin' wrong with that. You got yourself a loyal partner out of it, ya can't be that." Some days she wished she had someone close like that, though her grandfather and her were very close so she did have him. Or used to.
"Well I'm glad to hear I'm not the only here to get myself into a sticky situation like this. Mistakes happen, it's how you learn from them is the real reward." There were many situations she was called to help with that really made her wonder what went through some peoples heads. Cars in lakes, on the sides of mountains, on guard rails. Her stories were short, but endless.
Looking towards her destination, she exhaled. "Yeah, I've noticed. I'm sure that's why the fella didn't want to do it himself, nor did he give many details." This was a lesson learned. Though, it did suggest an experience person should take the job, and she figured she had plenty of that. Maybe next time she should've asked if she needed anything specific for the job.
Listening to his suggestion, she gave a nod. "That sounds a little confusing to me, but if you say it'll work. I was raised and worked at a car place my whole life, so anything beyond that is new to me. Heck, even things in my own world took me by surprise most days." He said he would cover the cost and she gave him a smile. "You don't have to do that, but I do appreciate it. I'll buy lunch after, how about that?" Cindy was used to deals, so this made her able to accept.

"Yeah, he seems like it, but knows when to protect his owner I bet." Mostly she was just trying to make up for the fact that they were both degrading the dragon just a little bit by telling him he wasn't that scary. The closest thing Cindy ever really got as a pet were the stray dogs that liked to hang around Hammerhead. People would either take them in, they'd run off to somewhere new, or get killed. She had one trained once to fetch her tools for her, and it was a pretty big blow when he got hit by a car, and she never really bonded with one since.
The dragon roared, she assumed to proclaim that he was still a fierce being that wasn't taking kindly to all the nice things being said about him. What he got in return, however, was to be told off. Cindy chuckled behind her hand. "You two certainly are a pair, aren't ya?" She had never seen an interaction like this before, and she was rather enjoying it honestly. It was something you saw every day.
Nodding, Cindy crossed her arms. "I thought so too, but that's what I love doin', so I jumped at the opportunity without askin' any questions. That was my mistake, and I guess I'm payin' for it." He asked where they were meeting, and she pointed straight ahead of them. "The outskirts on the other side. I was debatin' on if I wanted to drag this thing through town, or go around. Both would be a challenge." Also, going through town would get her a lot of stares, but someone might be willing to help in town as well.
Caius, as she learned, offered his hand in helping her and she grinned. "I would really appreciate it. It's really not too incredibly heavy, I've pulled worse before." In the past, she had been called to tow vehicles that had driven off road and her truck wouldn't reach, so this wasn't really anything new to her. It was still a longer distance than she had ever gone before, which was probably why she was pretty tired now.
"Food sounds great right about now. Let's get this thing where it belongs, and then we can head whatever way you have in mind." She wasn't sure how they were all going to pull at once, since she only had one rope attached to it at the moment. "Y'all go another rope? That's the only one I brought with me since I didn't think I'd be doin' all this."
