TEACH THEM BOYS A LESSON
Cindy gave a chuckle. "You could be right with that one." It was definitely not something she had planned for the day, getting scammed and then talking about chickens over a meal. It wasn't a bad way to spend the day in her opinion. Especially since it was starting to get later, and the day would soon be over so it was nice to enjoy it. "Yeah, I can see how that would come into play. If you're not good with animals, a dragon would not be somethin' to be around."
Caius dug into his food as well, and she was glad she wasn't the only one that didn't really realize how hungry they were. Cindy wasn't the type of girl to try to eat all cute and dainty. If she was hungry, she would dig into her food and not care what she looked like. She didn't care about appearances, she was female mechanic after all. You didn't see those very often.
"I was raised by my Pawpaw, so I've been around cars and shops most of my life. I learned how to turn a wrench at a very young age, and those parts are not light. A lot of my body type comes from that, and I'm very glad for it." There were some days where she thought about her parents and what her life would have been like if they had raised her. She probably would still be interested in cars since her Pawpaw was still close by.
"I mostly just don't want to deal with the asshole. I'll start yellin' and causin' a scene and I don't like doin' that."

Cindy let out a chuckle. "Oh he definitely is just a big dog with scales from what I've seen, but I still wouldn't want on his bad side." Vordun was still a dragon after all, no matter how much of a pet he could act like. She was glad to have met them on good terms and to have them on her side if she ever needed them. The fact that Caius was from her own home world was just an added bonus to it all.
As Noctis explained where the other boys were, she gave a nod. "Honestly, I'm glad Prompto's not the one in trouble. I'm sure he would figure it out eventually, but that boy isn't the best when he's alone in sticky situations." She had become close with the boys over time, even if they hadn't known each other too long and didn't know too horribly much about each other. They were a great bunch of guys, though they did get themselves into some odd situations.
"Pawpaw didn't raise a quitter, that's for sure." Cindy never gave up and always pressed forward. There was no use dwelling on things you couldn't change. Cindy gave a smile. "I'll be sure to tell him. One of these days I'll go looking to see if he's here. I won't put all my effort into it, but I could use the trek to learn the area as well." She didn't really have her hopes up, but wishful thinking wasn't always a bad thing.
Noctis then said he and the boys would get a vehicle and she rolled her eyes with a smile. "I'll be sure to leave a spot open for you every month, because I know how you boys are with cars."

TEACH THEM BOYS A LESSON
Caius pointed out that the conversation that had ensued needed to happen and Cindy gave a nod. "I don't think I'll ever understand how men work." Girls usually did this same thing too, though their screaming at each was right when the problem started. Men seemed to shove it all under the bed until there was too much and they had to address it. "Better now than on the field." This would have been a terrible thing to have happen in the midst of everything.
Cindy shot a smile at Caius as they both were now near Prompto and Noctis, and she gave a wink to Noctis as he mouthed thank you to her. Caius spoke to Prompto and Cindy gave him props for trying to be helpful. Prompto seemed to have lightened up and he stated he had a plan. Cindy had never seen them in action, but she was pretty excited to be a part of it, even if it could be pretty dangerous. She wondered if this much planning went into everything they did, or if they just flew by the seat of their pants. She just left it at a little bit of both.
Tifa came back in shortly after Prompto suggested they all sit, and she did not look happy. Though she didn't seem super pissed, so that was a plus. Alex was through the door shortly after, of course acting like nothing had happened. Cindy didn't look at him though, she was not the biggest fan of him and would make that known. Of course she would still work with him in any way she had to, but she refused to speak to him otherwise.
Caius seemed to redeem himself with his words of wisdom, then offered some more to the plan. It seemed that everything was finally starting to come together, and that Alex and the boys wouldn't have to work too closely together. Noctis did state that she didn't have to build anything, which was good because she didn't have much time anyways, but she knew that she would be looking around the area the next day to find something perfect.
Noctis apologized to Tifa and then ordered a round of whiskey, which sounded great. Then he addressed Alex very sternly and Cindy finally got to see the Noctis that was to be king one day. She had always seen carefree and accident prone Noctis and the gang, now she was going to see them in action. Well, half of them at least. Hopefully the other two weren't too bad. She gave Alex a little bit of credit for admitting he screwed up, but then he was going on about Prompto having a beard? Well that was random.
The whiskeys were on the table, and she watched Prompto as everything unfolded. She was making sure that he was alright, and there were some points where she wasn't quite sure. He then spoke, but there wasn't much confidence in his voice as he agreed to everything. He was then looking at her once it was mentioned she would be involved, and he did not seem thrilled about that at all. She gave him a small smile and reached over to squeeze his hand, letting him know she knew what she was doing.
Cindy took her whiskey drink as Prompto did, wincing only slightly at the burn she felt. She didn't hate whiskey, but it certainly wasn't her favorite drink. She had to giggle a little bit at Prompto as he drank his whiskey. "Yeah, it burns a little. You get used to it. Eventually." She had done the same thing when she drank it for the first time, so she didn't blame Prompto at all for his reaction. Except it seemed to open him up a lot, and he just went off with his plan.
The boys were talking, and she was keeping up for the most part. Fortunately for her, she only needed to know the end of everything. Basically once they were in the vehicle, she would just get the heck out of there. Or maybe she would already be driving by and they could hop in and they could just go. Rolling her eyes, she looked Noctis dead in the face. "Yes, I am sure. I know y'all will be able to keep us safe, so just leave the drivin' to me."

Cindy should have guessed Caius would be the first to notice her mood had changed. Of course, there were a lot of things going on that neither of the two could really help at the moment, so it was only natural he would notice the person sitting close to him. ”Yeah well, I should have noticed it was a get together and that I wasn’t meant to be here.” She knew the boys would think otherwise and they were always happy to see her. She was starting to feel better but still thought it would have gone better had she not shown up.
Giving a small chuckle, she took a drink of her beer as she turned to Caius. ”You could say that. I’ve helped them, they’ve helped me. They grew on me, whether I’ll admit that or not. They’re some good guys to have in your corner, and I know they’d help me if I were in their position. If Gladio and Ignis need help, I’m there for them.” If Gladio wasn’t fighting, and Ignis wasn’t cooking, she knew they were suffering. She was in on this.
”Nothing too big. They popped by mine and my Pawpaw’s shop with the Regalia. We all got to talking and became friends. They’d call if they needed me, I’d do the same. We just bonded over all that I suppose.” She really did miss that car, but she missed their surprise visits even more. It always put a smile on her face to see them. Noctis mentioned getaway driver and she grinned madly. ”Oh you know I’m down for that! I’ll find the perfect vehicle for it, if I have to build it myself.” Though they probably didn’t have time for that…
Cindy didn’t hear most of the conversation Prompto and Noctis were having, but she did hear her name and listened better after that. Smiling, she jumped off the stool and made her way over to them. ”He’s got that right. You’re a great guy Prompto, don’tcha ever forget that. Now come on, you’ve got some friends to save, and those are two guys I don’t want to keep waitin’ any longer.” With that, she grabbed his hand and started to gently pull him back towards the rest of the group.

TEACH THEM BOYS A LESSON
Cindy just had to roll her eyes when Alex mentioned he didn't deserve the slap she had given him. Of course he did! Sure, she wasn't meant to be a part of whatever they had going on, but there was no need to do that. Cindy would have understood if they had asked her to leave, or to at least sit away from them. Of course she would make the three make it up to her later with a round or something, but it wouldn't hurt her feelings.
Then Alex went off. Honestly, Cindy didn't know what to say during it all, but it did piss her off just a little bit. She didn't know what the boys' relationship with Alex was, but what he had said about them did not sit well with her. They were her friends, and Alex was saying some not so nice things about them. He was a Warrior of Light? She had no idea what that was, but that didn't give him the right to act all high and mighty with them.
When he stated that Prompto was 'pitching a tent', Cindy almost wanted to slap him again. How dare he bring something like that up while yelling? Sure, past differences and all that, but that was personal. She instantly looked over to Prompto, knowing very well he wasn't going to be able to take all of that. He was a sensitive man, and that was one thing Cindy liked about him.
Caius then spoke up, and mentioned that the boys would have to be the one to tell her. "If this is about Gladio and Ignis, I want in. I'll understand though if you don't want me there." Cindy wasn't sure what the boys had gotten themselves into, but if they needed help, she wanted to be there for them. They were good men, even if they weren't the brightest sometimes.
Prompto had been trying to get words in while Alex was yelling, but it had failed. Prompto had been backed into a table, and Cindy just stood there. She wanted to move. She wanted to help, but she couldn't. Everything happened so fast, so many words were said. Then Alex left, then poked his head in, and closed the door again. Tifa said she would go talk to him, which was odd, but either way would have been awkward for her. Cindy started to walk over to Prompto, but he fled to the bathroom and locked the door. Staring at the door for a moment, Cindy felt her eyes water just a little bit. She felt terrible for Prompto, he didn't deserve any of that! Slumping down into a bar stool, she took a drink of her beer. She almost spit it out when she saw Noctis heading towards the door with his beer bottle in hand.
Caius' words seemed to have stopped him, and he turned around with slightly unnerving laugh. She didn't know what to say on the matter, since she only could guess what the night was supposed to entail. His next statement confirmed what was going on. The boys were in prison, and they were all here to plan a breakout. She had interrupted, which made everything go downhill pretty fast. Suddenly, Cindy felt at fault for the chaos that had ensued. Turning in the stool she was sitting to face the bar, Cindy put her hands around her beer and just stared at it.

"That's true. I've seen chickens just chase someone because they walked up to it. It's a good thing they provide us with food or they wouldn't last much longer." When he mentioned that animals could sense things, she gave a nod. "Exactly. I'll brag a little and say I'm a pretty calm and understanding person, so animals never really bother me." They mostly just let her be unless she was to go up to them to pet them or something, and that was that.
Their food arrived and Cindy thanked the waiter as she gave a smile when Caius stated Vordun would enjoy showing off. She picked up her fork and started to eat, and approved of her choice. The pasta was really good, and she would have to remember what it was in case she ever ate at the place again.
Taking a drink to help swallow her food, she smiled again. "As he should. He does a lot, and as a dragon, he gets his "payment" with affection and food. It's just like paying someone for doing a job." Animals didn't need money, they understood praise and food. Speaking of food, Cindy took another bit. She hadn't realized how hungry she was after all the work she had done.
After she had swallowed that bite, she gave a shrug. "I probably could. I was taught how to handle myself if something were to happen, but I would never go out of my way to find that something. I will stand up for my friends and family though, and you can bet your ass I won't go down easy." Cars were heavy, their parts were heavy. She was a mechanic, so of course she had quite a bit of muscle on her. She wasn't fully trained, but she did know how to fight.

"Damn straight I can." Cindy gave a nod at his next statement. "Yeah, it kinda does. I like it here. Keep me just busy enough to not go stir crazy, but I don't get overloaded." Being the only mechanic and having no other employees, she was happy to not have a booming business. There were times that she had nothing to do, but she would usually just clean or wander around the area to kill some time.
"That I did. He helped me out of a bind, him and that dragon of his. Some jackwagon posted about needin' help with a car. Failed to mention that I had to go get the car and bring it back. Caius and Vordun found me and helped me bring the car back." It was definitely a relief when she found out that he was from the same place as she was, and knew the same people as well. Though it was the older version of them.
"Provo isn't too bad so far, though I haven't really gone around and met the locals. I just mostly stick to myself." She had done that back home as well, so it wasn't much different now. "Caius mentioned Prompto was with you, but couldn't say where the other two were." Cindy wasn't the type to pester people for information. If she wasn't supposed to know, she wouldn't ask, plain and simple.
Cindy looked around at her shop and crossed her arms. "You bet I've done well, look who yer talkin' about!" She gave him and wink and put her hands on her hips. "It's been okay. I miss Pawpaw, but I'm sure he's still his ol' onery self wherever he is." Who knew, maybe he was here? "It really does. I still haven't a clue how I, or anyone ends up here." Once again, she wasn't really the type to ask questions.

TEACH THEM BOYS A LESSON
"Thank ya." Cindy addressed the bartender as she took a sip of her beer as she listened to the other man call her blonde. Maybe it was part of the conversation they had been having before she walked in, so she just kind of ignored it. Cindy wasn't a huge fan of being judged by her hair color, but it didn't seem like it was really an insult in this situation. Though that conclusion changed a little bit when Caius had to state he wasn't colorblind...
Prompto's reaction to her being there took her away from that confusing situation as he jumped to his feet and turned even more red than he was before. Luckily, she missed the whole coat situation, so he was spared that additional humiliation. He had always been a little strange around her, but it was never enough for her not to like him. He wasn't the best around girls she had found out, and the bartender was a looker, so she figured that's where the outburst had come from. "I'm here for a drink. Was in town for some parts and figured why the heck not!" She never expected this.
Prompto started to try to explain, but just as he did, the man she didn't know muttered something to Noctis, then Prompto and then he was stopped in front of her. "I am..." She answered with a very confused expression on her face. He was then going off about something Prompto did, or the guy said he did. Honestly, part of it did sound believable because Prompto did love chocobos. The whole thing just sounded like it was from a book, but she didn't have much chance to respond.
The man stated it was pleasure to meet her and then his hand was right in front of her face and he was blowing something at her. To be honest, she had no idea what was going on, she had never really been around magic before. The reactions of those around her though made it very clear. The bartender mentioning a barrier, and kicking him out got her a point in Cindy's book. Girl looked like she could do just that.
Noctis then mentioned to tip Tifa, which Cindy definitely would after all of this happened. Also something about a dog, which just confused Cindy. She noticed Caius had responded to that though, and finally realized that he knew the other man. The whole situation was just very confusing to Cindy, but she was also pretty pissed. Turning her attention on Alex, she slapped him across the face. "What kind of man are you to just go around spellin' people like that? And in a place of business? You should apologize to miss Tifa."
Prompto was then right next to her, asking if she was okay. "I'm fine Prompto, this guy sure won't be though." Not saying Alex wasn't important to these guys, but she knew all of them, Prompto and Noctis better than Caius. Alex going after her like that was definitely not going to end well. Prompto was then apologizing to her and she gave him a smile. "It's all right, you were worried." She honestly thought it was cute how he freaked out that she was hurt.
The next thing he did though, took her by surprise. Tears in his eyes, he faced Alex. And he let him have it. Though, some of it was confusing to her, which wasn't a surprise at this rate. This whole evening was confusing to her. She knew Gladio and Ignis were here somewhere, but she wasn't sure where. It sounded like there was going to be a fight to find them, and Alex was supposed to be in on it. It sounded like the other two were in danger though.
It was all coming together for her now. They had all been surprised to see her there, but they all seemed to be there for a reason. They were all in on finding Gladio and Ignis. She didn't know where they were, but she wanted them safe. "Wait, what kind of trouble are those two in?" The four of them had caused her a headache or two, but they were good men.

It had taken Cindy a bit to decide exactly how she wanted to paint the car. She could have gone the normal route and just painted stripes down the side or the top of the car, but that was too original for her. Since she was planning to sell the car, the fact that she had more black paint than orange was good. There were people who did like the bright colors for their vehicles, but most wanted a normal color.
Finally deciding to paint the area around the tires, the rims and the side mirrors orange, she put plastic over those areas and started on the black. It didn't take her long to finish that since black went on pretty easily and only needed on coat with the primer already on there. She had just started on the orange when a familiar voice almost made her jump.
Turning around, a grin appeared on her face at the sight of Noctis. "You've come to the right place, because it seems I'm the only mechanic in these parts." That might not be true, but that was the truth as far as she knew. The lack of vehicles made mechanics scarce in the area, and she had yet to meet another one. That was okay with her, it meant more business.
Grabbing a nearby rag and wiping her hands of some paint that had gotten on them, she made her way towards him. "I heard you were here, but I didn't think I'd see you so soon. How ya holdin' up?" It had taken her a little bit to get used to being in a new world, so she figured she'd ask how he was doing with it all as well. He had more connections in their world, so it probably had effected him worse than it had her.

"Yeah, fish are really easy to come by. He must have fun getting them too. I would love to see him just splashin' around, goin' after fish." Like a kid in a mud puddle. It honestly sounded really cute to Cindy, and she wasn't sure if that was the intention for a dragon. Meat probably wasn't too hard to find for a dragon either, as the wildlife and monsters weren't hard to find.
When Caius said the boys were there, she did sigh in relief. She was really glad to hear that Noctis had his friends, especially if he had gotten the news that he had been king far sooner than expected. His next statement didn't really surprise her, but she wasn't going to press for details. "Well, those boys were usually getting themselves into one thing or another, so I'm not surprised. Hopefully they can get it all worked out."
Nodding, she took a sip of her tea. "Exactly. They kind of freaked me out when I was younger, but over time they grew on me. Cute little things." A lot of people would use them when their vehicles were getting worked on to get around, so she did see them a bit. The boys told her they were pretty fun, even with Prompto singing half the time.
"Yeah, I've heard some stories about people gettin' bucked off and even pecked at and chased. They are just overgrown chickens really." Once he mentioned machines, she gave a chuckle. "Now that's analogy I can follow." Machines were a headache sometimes, but those were the challenges she was up for.
Caius mentioned he'd bring Vordun and Cindy smiled. "I'm sure he would just love to show off how intimidating he can be." She had been talking about the cute things he could do, and that was good reminder that he was in fact, a dragon. He would probably not appreciate too much someone talking about him like he was a household pet.
"Yeah, none of that sounds like fun. Not sure I could do the things you do." Cindy could hold her own in a fight, but that didn't mean she wanted to do it constantly, or put herself in life threatening situations. She was just fine with her calm life. "He probably just soaked all that up." Everyone and everything enjoyed a good pampering once in a while, right?
