Thinking of you, wherever you are I've returned from memories past, reborn from times past

Claire didn't even need a minute to anticipate how Lumina would react. So long as they were one and the same, even if their mutual existence could be compared on a surface level to twins; an audible gulp was given. "I'd rebel against myself..." admittedly, she muttered this defeat but Serah and Mog were certain to hear it. Fortunately, Mog came to the rescue, revealing how these men looked. Leaving a rather quiet, contemplative Claire. Alas, once Mog spoke aloud what Claire seemed to infer, the lightning mage looked even more pale!
Serah effectively drove home the... "track record", in turn Claire raised her left hand to her forehead. "I feel...faint." that was with a large swath of dramatics but it was clear the little big sis was...rendered speechless. "...As long as you're both happy but..." she looked to Mog, a silent twinkle in her eyes. "I'm going to test them both! This Zell just looks like a younger knucklehead, to the older dork of a fiance." carefully her hand moved from her forehead to her chin. From defeat to steady determination and most worriesome for Serah and Lumina; mischief.
"...I'm sure it's fine. We've got stuff to prepare here right? I say we go and get started. I'm a bit sad that things got so bad in my future that I'm now two people. On the other hand, I think if I give it some time, it's not bad to have a twin. I just need to have something fun and good to tell her when the time comes. No problem." Claire didn't need any prompt to know that she had to assuage Lumina's concerns, show that she was different and yet, still knew the lessons her future self learned from their union. Otherwise, Lumina would just do what she'd do in her place: Worry.
"Come to think of it, that trip... Hmm, you should go on it together but not ruin the surprise. She probably still thinks I'm my future self, right? Once you get everything setup in Torrensten, the two of you can come back and I'll have everything ready here. Well, Mog and I will have everything ready. Shouldn't be too hard and I'm just looking forward to getting back to 'school' for now." admittedly, Claire figured Lumina might need some time to digest the news too, even if she wouldn't tell Serah as much. Lumina, from everything she gathered until now; had so much going on in her life. Good things, some anxieties, maybe she even feared the possibility of another merger? Given the work she'd done in Zephon, getting her own house... she could bet Lumina did that for Serah.

Hearing the initial requirements for a relationship, Claire nodded as if that were all common sense. All while noting the spending time together part, as something her future self neglected. Just as she was nodding along in agreement, Serah revealed a twist so unexpected, Claire was left gawking. "What does she mean, 'train them'?" Claire thought before thinking of Mog. He certainly did seem pretty 'trained' at times or so the lightning mage reckoned. Other times, not so much if she was honest. Still, a bead of sweat went down her forehead. The idea of imagining a fiance that was 'trained' by Serah, based on what Mog let slip; as well as what she inferred...did.not.compute!
On the flipside, she could compute Teacher Serah's subtle implications. No mischief in her class... She could feel another, bigger bead of sweat go down her temple. Strangely, this too felt just like she'd imagined; a sign that her future self did well. So in turn, she'd really commit to being an angel in her sister's classes. As for the other teacher's though...? Well, they were still up for play! Thus an equally innocent, beaming smile, one reserved for little sisters was shown to confirm she'd be good.
Now then, to be the best, she had to focus upon her lofty ambitions, that of learning every spell in Zephon! Serah could definitely help with this, as could Mog. It felt nice to be able to rely on her sister, her being an adult really made things easier. Places of education would give them more context for this new world, particularly history. There was a lot to consider here, religion, politics, culture, she could tell Serah was going to be really busy in the future. Probably too busy to do her usual household chore of cooking, so it was a good thing she was learning about that. The rest of the household chores, she had years of experience to cover. The rest would be slacking, er training magic and admittedly; playing with Mog.
In turn, that all could be put aside, given how straight forward it was in her mind. The real concern, was what her other self, her twin; whom she did assume was her future self's age, preferred. Alas, the more she heard, the worse it got. She was becoming pale slowly only to hear Serah's whisper. Her complexion was ghastly, spare some colour in her cheeks. "H-how could this be?!" she'd sent plenty of goofballs packing. Her school life, was different from her home life after all. At home, she was responsible and helped with all the chores, releasing the burden for their Mother. Some of that did carry over into her more 'public life' but she was whimsical with a clever tongue and wit. There was no way, she'd ever like a knucklehead. Much as she loved their Father, he was a bit too easy going for her tastes. Though he did have a calming presence, that was good---
"N-no way..." words had finally formed and of course, it was a denial. "Someone so cool and reliable, can't be in love with a guy like that. I won't allow it!" her sisters were silly, she'd almost dare to say crazy. Was this what love did to people? No wonder she avoided it now and even in the future. Maybe her sisters didn't have their heads on straight? Perhaps she should adjust this quiz, make sure it covers good husband etiquette!
Honestly, Claire wasn't even sure of the type of guy she liked. None really compared and her focus was largely elsewhere. She could with certainty, say the type she didn't like or approve of! Thus a veritable thunderstorm seemed to be circling Claire. Eyes half lidden as she meticulously assessed her experiences to date. "MOG! Have you seen this boyfriend's of Lumina? I need a second opinion." she called out, probably sounding a lot like her future self.
"Come to think of it, I'd like to meet my other side soon too. I just can't imagine this without seeing her."

The combination of Mog and Claire was a class act, in and of itself. Mog, ever quick to rely on and support his young rival was probably a sight to see. Were it not for the dangerous circumstances that were narrowly avoided. Though, the real danger was Mog's mouth! Claire jumped the moment Mog mentioned fangirling. Afterwards she was turning red, bangs briefly covering her eyes. If she made a retort now, it'd be a weakness, which meant she needed to strategically divert attention. "Mog and I will stick together, promise. We make a good team...when he's not selling me out." so the strategy of diversion was just to...throw some heat Mog's way. Truly a Farron family tradition at this point.
"Even if you did use magic, a unique one if I'm understanding right; it's still impressive. I was interested in chocobos back home, so I know how difficult they can be to tame. Having Serah around, as well as an expert rancher is for the best. If we're going to be living here, then getting to know the local monsters is wise. Being able to tame them, without magic, even better. A mage can't always rely on magic after all." sure, Claire understood well enough but she was more than happy to have Serah with her just to spend time together.
Her little big sister's earnest reactions to the praise was not missed. Claire could tell she had worked hard and thus, had the expertise. If there was something Serah didn't know, then they could learn together with a third party opinion. Though perhaps she took this so well because of the affection Bennu showed. Returning the nuzzling from time to time as Serah and Caius spoke, the younger Farron was at peak happiness.
Thoughts of Vordun didn't seem to prompt much out of Claire, not in this state of fluffy bliss. Instead, Caius reaction to her gift was the thing she looked out for. His response was absolutely worth the wait, as well as the time she put into them. It made her laugh at the idea of his partner's remarks. "Humour not only helps to take the edge off, it helps people to bond too. I think Celes will approve." there was a steady confidence, one that wasn't boastful unlike Claire's other efforts.
Likely, it'd go amiss as her playful jab at Serah had yielded fruit. "Stylish...I guess. Suited for battle environments...questionable. Might be better for more active dates with your f-i-a-n-c-e, at least." in fact, Claire could believe her wearing such an outfit for Snow more so. Though she'd wave her hand casually to dismiss the thought, recollecting something that was noted to her. "So, Mog can transform into a Sword; as well as a bow. That fits the hunting aspect, which would pair well with the knife. You being a swordswoman, is a bit of a surprise though. Will you be okay without Mog?"

"No problem, one normal life quiz." Claire admitted, before mentally adding; "...with a side of extra 'cute' mishaps." Honestly, when did Serah become so teasable? It was becoming harder to imagine her future self being so strict. Well... unless she was overcome with worry and responsibility. That fiance of hers would no doubt be a big wedge while thinking of her future. University was expensive, so focusing on getting together everything Serah would need to comfortably study. Her future self's actions were becoming more clear by the minute. Unfortunately, so were the glaring oversights!
"...There's more? I mean, I know there should be more to relationships but..." Claire wasn't even sure why she was taken aback by that statement. It should be obvious but given some thought, she just realized how truly inexperienced she was in this area. Boys were mostly immature and thus, easy targets for her schemes admittedly. Though there were some standouts, who she didn't mess with. Those one were just harder to approach due to being more mature for their age. Brushing off her mischief as harmless, revealing her good natured but inexperienced self. Ah, it was too embarrassing to admit she was a trendy house wife beneath the facade of cool.
"...Ahaha, chaos? Me~? Never. I happen to get good grades and am responsible. Only amateurs let their plans trace back to them." Claire was beaming when she shouldn't. In essence, admitting that she was so cunning that she didn't get caught by her teachers. A true troublemaker was before Teacher Serah, probably best to curb her now.
"I promise I'll behave, I'm not aiming for the class clown identity either. Especially not while learning magic, I need to focus." otherwise, how could she be the best there ever was?
As they shifted back to Lumina, to whom Claire was also idolizing, much like Mr. Caius. Claire learned that Lumina was a business woman, the sneakiest too. Wait... that stuck out a lot, a partner that was mischievous? Perhaps that was her first clue, that there was more to Lumina than meets the eye. Serah then slowly explained the circumstances of Claire's twin. One that was surprising, leaving Claire speechless. Arguably, not because of the actions of her future self. She'd already begun to easily imagine her actions and motivations. Just that she lacked so much self-care.
"...twin sister. I really have a twin." Claire ultimately wasn't sure how to feel. The origin of Lumina being her own negligence was heartbreaking. At the same time, she felt proud that Lumina was able to carve out her own life. Now she was doing well and even had a boyfriend... Wait!
"...Tell me more about her boyfriend Serah, please!" This was now far more important to Claire than ever before. "In fact, please recap everything you know about him!" The look of seriousness, how focused Claire was on this issue. The simple reason for this was that, if her future self's actions were prophetic. In that they revealed parts of herself that hadn't been acknowledged or manifested. Then was her tastes similar to her twin? She hadn't even had the thought of what sort of guy she liked! This was getting bad, maybe her face was flushing slowly as their conversation continued on.
"That's a very admirable dream. We definitely have to make the most of our life here in this world from now on. It'd almost be a sin not to."

Focusing on the present wasn't only easier to do, it was more exciting in truth. The present, in a new world, with so much possibilities, was truly exciting. Claire was quite adaptable, regardless of the age; so her sights were being set relatively quickly. As was her bubbling ambitions, as she'd been given a golden ticket; free of past inhibitions, free of even ones that threatened to surface. Now, she could just focus on the here and now.
"I'm not too worried about Mog, in truth. He's smarter than he looks, very cunning that one. Plus, I'm sure he didn't go far, the Cabin is...modest in size, judging by the outside. The real trouble is for him when Serah does finally arrive. She sounded... kind of like a Mom would sound." getting used to that, she reckoned would be a learning experience. "Maybe we should search for him, for his sake." a nervous laugh escaped her lips. Such was the imagined terror that loomed in her imagination. Well, part of it wasn't just imagined, she heard it, quite distinctively.
Contrast to her gambit at being mature, Claire was rather animated in her shock. "...Ahaha, well... that's good to know." She took a moment to compose her excitement into clear speech all the same. "...Given what you said about Chocobos, it does explain the smell. Now that I know what it is, I don't mind as much. I just want to see a few races and eventually, participate. I didn't get a chance to do such back home. So, I guess I've got a bucket list now." a bucket list that was expanding rapidly the more she adjusted to this new reality.
"So, regarding Sonora. You mentioned their clothing style being like back home. From what you've said so far, that must mean something post modern, right? It feels like your world is similar to mines but I know I don't have enough to go on. Just a feeling, since you mentioned growing up on a Chocobo farm." Claire could tell from Caius words he didn't like Sonora but if it was the closest proxy to home, then she'd like to see it and get some materials from there at some point. Right now though, Provo's fashion style sounded fun and fit what she imagined. Making something by hand with conventional sewing would be easier with robes and such. Making herself a mage outfit should be simple!

Building up a reserve was definitely important, having vast supply to show off how cool and strong she was, an admirable goal. These thoughts were beginning to brew, like a storm. Until a quick quip about being a sourpuss. "Ugh...I really can't let that stick, not this time around." came her interrupted retort. Not while she was visualizing her new identity of sorts, for such was her determination! Besides, she was pretty adaptable, that's how she pulled off her pranks in succession.
...Speaking of adaptable, the glint in Claire's eyes was shining all the brighter now. "Everything." Claire reiterated, this time, giving an 'innocent' smile, that hid a smug air about it. After all, she wanted to be the big sister, so she might as well endure...a little sister's secret weapons! In fact, at the mention of giving her the proverbial test sheet, Claire tilted her head in consideration. "I would be happy to show you such, ordinarily. However, I said 'Pop Quiz', surely Ms. Farron knows what that implies, right~?"
Oh how fun this 'quiz' will be, she had so much cards in her back pocket, she might as well be an 'Ace' teacher in the school of Serah. Not just Serah either, a teacher in the Farron family ways. A fine and noble heritage...well, not really, given they didn't have any other relatives. Regardless, it was mostly fun to watch Serah sweat in this instance. Worrying all the while at what deviations could be unleashed. Perhaps this was why the boys found her scary, hmmm, in a brief bit of self awareness; Claire added: "...It'll be fine, probably."
Serah was willing to move on all the same, so Claire left it with that foreboding thought. Instead, sighing in relief at Serah's confidence in teaching cooking. "Great. I hear that one's stomach is the quickest avenue to their heart. Maybe that's how you won Snow over? Clever, clever." given she could imagine their Mom doing such for their Dad, it made all the sense in the world. Something she'd cherish quietly and not shed more light on, for now. Not when Serah seemed to insist on it being okay to share certain...social...matters. At the very least, Claire gave it some serious thought.
"It's not like we're back in our world anymore, so it can't hurt. I don't even mind going to school together, that sounds like it could be fun. I don't do well sitting at the front or standing out too much. The real action is at the back, with a good view of the entire classroom---" her devious side was leaking out, inadvertently this time. Maybe being at the front would make a strong impression this time but it's not like she could reinvent her whole character, on a whim no less!
Really, Claire was going to speak up on that homework tidbit in particular. That was not the path of...'cool' but even as she flushed in embarrassment, she was earnestly contemplating how to go about that differently. Seemingly missing the joke in all this, well...planning out a new, ideal route in life was much too serious to joke about! Taking it in stride, she'd file away some contingency plans in case Ms. Farron impacted her reputation with the other students.
In regards to Lumina, the more she could learn, the more the mental image changed and grew. "That's an unexpected cute side. I can believe the fury part of course. One has to be fierce in business and adventure." how to imagine such a cool person with such a cute, feminine side to her though? Hmm, it made her want to see it in action, in truth. The contrast sounded adorable but also unbelievable in its own light. Not that Serah would lie to her about such things, far from it. Seeing was believing for some stories in the end. Speaking of...Claire just paused right in her tracks, tilting her head once more. "...I, have a twin? How...did that happen?"
Admittedly, these thoughts of a sister, a twin had taken up her attention, that she just passively agreed with practicality. "You're not...wrong. Still, there is something...not lacking but well, I guess its fine. It really is quite a thoughtful gift, plus you look so happy, I can't argue my future success."
Claire while doing this introspective, wasn't above making jest to certain things. "That's because you're too... Heh. I didn't teach you the art of not getting caught." she admitted, this time unable to hide her impish grin at all. Mostly because she knew that she'd taught Serah very well. Seeing it in such a wholesome way was far too adorable. "I know I can rely on you to back me up now, for sure." Claire was happy to also file this away for herself. Her earnest, unable to hide many things or do wrong sister. Seeing this side of her, was all she needed not to let things weigh her down too much. Though she wouldn't deny that having the chance to reflect on certain actions and do better, hard as it was to face, harder still to embrace, was worth it.
"...Huh, you're proud of...me? I'm proud of you! That explanation for teaching Magic was so...professional, mature...I'm trying to find my bearings right now. Even saying I'm impressed, just doesn't really do it justice."

Claire nodded in response to starting with the basics, it was important to have a good foundation. Sure, she was eager to challenge herself but she didn't need her ego assuaged any. There was simply a thrill to challenging oneself, overcoming the weaknesses of yesterday. Besides, she never wanted to feel like a damsel, ever again! The earnest look in her eyes, the lack of interruptions, not even a quip from the self-proclaimed prodigy. Claire... was really serious about this and in this way, Serah could get a glimpse of what her sister was like in military training.
"Casting it non-stop is...exhausting, right. So there's a natural capacity, like a pool of magic that's inside us? Makes sense." Claire nodded her head, trying to remember the feel of strain when going beyond her current limit. She could cast Thunder quite a few times now but she wasn't battle ready, nor battle confident. While Claire was taking this seriously, making mental notes, going over the information in kind. Serah was... Well, she looked like she was having her own fun.
"...Dork." was all she'd say in response to weaving fate. Really, people made their own fate, Claire always believed as much and in turn, she worked hard to pursue whatever was needed. Whether it was helping Mom with chores, studying hard in school, as well as her mischief. For, in the case of testing Snow, she had the test in mind already. One that would make Teacher Serah quite proud, honestly. The look of determination and mischief in Claire's eye, would likely worry said Teacher more so in truth.
Upon being asked, "I'd give him a pop quiz about everything you, of course!" Simple but effective and if he couldn't answer the questions in her pop quiz, then he definitely wasn't worthy of Serah's hand in marriage. Adults made things so complicated, this was easy in comparison. Likewise, reading Serah was easy too. The way she tried to cover for Snow, asking Claire to take it back. "No way, he sounds way too much like Dad already~" Claire would tease in retaliation, before giggling no less. Serah didn't remember much about their Dad but that's why Claire was here. To share memories of him, to fill in those gaps, so that her sister, whether older or younger, didn't feel alone or lacking.
That said, Claire wasn't prepared for the shocking admittance to her...boy problem. "I'm...scary?" Well, Claire's shoulders slumped in woe now. "I only played a few pranks... Sure, sometimes I'd say certain things to really mess with them but I was never serious!" yet if even Serah thought she was scary, then she'd gone too far. Well, in a different way than she wanted to be interpreted. Thus came a listless sigh from the younger Farron. These were mistakes she was not keen to repeat in this world. This was why she would endure the baking lessons! "Please, sis... I'm counting on you here!" that desperate plea, her school life, no social life... was really on the line here!
For a moment, Claire hadn't quite realized the dastardly trick employed. Serah seemed like she believed her excuse but didn't say much else. A cursory glance made Claire all the more suspicious, which soon turned into Claire's embarrassment. "You're not convinced, huh?" Claire sighed in defeat. "I know things are different now but... If the future me didn't tell you about these social life...problems... Then, well... I mean... it's not like you told me about your dating life and such, right? Ah, I mean, you didn't tell the future me about those, right~? So you should understand how embarrassing it is!" Claire was just guessing on this one but she suspected that Serah likely hid a lot of things about Snow. Separating personal life from family life was just a teenager thing to do.
"Ah!? N-no wait, you being my teacher in school, ALSO COUNTS as one of those embarrassing moments! It's fine at home but in public!? N-no way." perhaps she was protesting this much but this was one change, whether it was being a big sis or the little sis, she was still fifteen. No way she could let this go!
When talk came to Serah's current job and thus, her partner's life, this kind of girl talk she could get into! The boyfriend of Serah's business partner. There was something romantic about all this, even if she felt too awkward to share some of her innermost thoughts. It seemed wonderful to Claire and she wanted to meet Zell, as well as Miss Lumina soon. Though, she didn't really know much about Lumina...time to fix that! "So then, what's Miss Lumina like? You seem sure about Zell being good for her, is she good for Zell?" perhaps it was a bit of gossip but this was a mystery more so! One Claire was just dying to know. A nice distraction, given her own self-conscious worries.
Despite Serah's reassurances, Mog's swift comedic honesty came through. 'Stuffy', Claire looked at the moogle with disbelief. How could she be stuffy? Thinking back about her pranks and how she spoke to boys sometimes, there was an air of that 'cool' and 'serious' charm she tried to project. Ah but boys were dumb, so she'd only get through to them with that style of communication. When she was more charming and sweet, they just brushed it off. Always getting into trouble, making her worry, she could only sigh. Watching the hijinks of Mog and Serah, made her feel a bit better. Her partner in crime seemed to be getting his just desserts after all.
"That's a really thoughtful gift, good job future me, I guess. Though it lacks a bit of...charm. I'm glad you like it on her behalf~ Well... if she could see the look on your face right now, I'm sure she'd be happy too." as old as Serah was now, she still had a heart warming expression when she was grateful for something. That only made her impish grin wider, until Serah pointed it out. Which caused Claire to gasp and stop right there and then.
"Ah...not you too. Right, I'll try to keep grinning to a minimum." having a nickname like Imp in this world? Nope, not on her watch. Why did it seem like her new social life was in danger before it even started?! Briefly, she looked to Serah who had a nostalgic look on her face. Claire was about to inquire on it, when the subject matter escalated. The ever honest Mog, wasn't going to let falsehoods fly in this house. He risked his neck to clear this one up, instead of letting Serah sweep it under the rug. The revelations he ushered in, left Claire in shock.
"..." truly speechless, Claire looked down, feeling miserable. Yet the shock soon turned into something else. No protest, no self-assured declaration that she was different. Perhaps the moogle landed a critical hit? What mattered was, she didn't doubt him, not even for a second. It sounded precisely like what she'd do. What she was on track to do even. She glimpsed Serah flailing as she decided to reflect on this information. Once Serah slumped, she could tell it was true and how it impacted her deeply. Claire would study her sister for just a moment, before closing her eyes.
"I really did join the military. I was thinking about it, as a backup plan of sorts, in the hospital while you were gone. Just briefly..." Claire finally broke the silence. "I remember even before we arrived, how tense I was feeling. I ended up scolding you about running too. I'd always been afraid, you know... of the time when Mom would leave us." pausing, she crossed her arms for a moment, contemplating everything deeply.
"...It's like I said earlier, pinning my dreams on you. Vicariously living through you... I'm sorry that you had to experience that selfishness of mines. I can't offer much, being this present me and not the one you came to know. All I can say, is I intend to learn from my mistakes. I've also changed my mind, I think you should become a full time teacher. If you've got your sights set on teaching magic, then why not? Although... weren't you really good at history and humanities?"

Contrary to Claire's antics, when challenged about who did the hunting, her remark was simple. "You did the hunting, since you've always been good at picking out good food. Choosing good materials after a hunt is only natural." the younger Farron stated this as matter of fact, with casual praise and recognition. In that way, she wasn't quite like her chaotic counterpart.
Especially as their Mother's words on this were still fresh in her mind after all. So, Claire smiled faintly with approval, in something that could be nostalgic to the now older Farron. As for the looming threat of being the big sister again, Claire closed her eyes, smiling wider still. "That's okay, I believe in the current you Serah. A teacher should be able to fill the role in with ease." adding a cute tilt of her head, Serah would now experience a tactic every older sister faced at some point. The cute appreciation of a younger sibling, weaponized to get out of the most harrowing ordeals. In this way, Claire was indeed like Lumina and the possibility of seeing more of that side loomed in the air. All unknowing to Claire, who only knew Lumina by name and second handed information courtesy of Serah.
Just when Claire thought she had gotten out of one fire, Caius just had to mention the bombs. That topic had been intentionally avoided, so as to spare Mog and herself a lecture. Well, now that it was out in the open, the next best trick in a younger sister's arsenal? Confess the truth and appeal to sensibility! "...Mog and I had gone on patrol around the Cabin. Mostly because I couldn't sit still knowing you were out. I hadn't accepted that you were...well...big. In my mind and heart, you were still that little sister from the hospital." best to butter Serah up a bit in this confession, while establishing Mog's involvement.
"...It was a good thing we did patrol, as I found Bombs approaching the cabin. Vulnerable as I might have been, it'd be worse if they made it to the cabin right? So, I led them away from the cabin onto the main road because I was certain the city watch would be out patrolling. That's...how I met Mr. Caius. N-now you see why I'm so grateful? You should have seen how quickly he dispatched the Bombs too, it was incredible!" hopefully that satisfied Serah a bit, Claire opened her eyes to take in Serah's expression. Stern, not a good side, in the end she shifted into worry and verbalized as much.
"I'm okay, not a scratch on me. I just hated how vulnerable I felt, didn't think I'd see the day where I was a damsel." this was what she didn't want to recollect about that moment. She was regretting wearing heels that day, even if she couldn't anticipate being summoned to a new world after school. Not so coincidentally, it's why she hadn't worn the outfit she was summoned in much, especially the shoes. Those were best saved for when she had an array of magic at her disposal.
"As for where we're staying now, it's not too far from the market. Further North and I think east, there's a big mansion belonging to some wealthy aristocrat. I've been using that as a marker of sorts so far." if Claire recollected briefly, the Mansion was of owned by... something de Lune? Where something was the man's first name, which she heard in passing. A testament to her priorities as of late, which consisted of improving her baking skills and training magic.
With one of those tasks out of the way, Claire was curious about Caius' own companion. "I'll look forward to meeting them." Her own imagination was going wild, likely as much as Serah's had. Though while the older Farron contemplated that, Claire focused on her nickname being uttered by Caius. "...I'm glad you think so but it's a bit embarrassing to hear it aloud when you say it." perhaps she needed to think of something that was more mature, less childish. A good title was like a brand, not unlike a superhero name. It had to make an impact, not unlike Bennu did. With its red feathers, loud caw of...well, not approval. More like an announcement of arrival, which the chocobo certainly earned. Claire looked on in disbelief initially, then the awe set in as she raised her brow.
Try as she might to come off mature in this situation, Serah had just summoned a freaking red chocobo. Those were rare and fast and admittedly, it made Serah seem that much cooler. What restraint she had was rapidly leaving her as she approached Bennu steadily. Her form bubbling with excitement just at the attempt to pet Bennu. In turn, Serah's boast about taming monsters being a big sister thing, largely bounced off.
"Mmm, you are a teacher, I think it's fine for you to handle finances. I'm sure the future me is proud, I know I am! This...you've done really well, Serah, wow!" that was about as much restraint as Claire had remaining in her shorter, lithe form. She was shaking in absolute excitement, like a volcano set to explode in a mix of unbridled affection and tacit curiosity. This too was just another lesson in handling younger sisters. It was best to make one's comeback when you had their complete attention~
For now, given her distraction that was all well and good. As Caius reached into the basket for the other gift, he'd be able to pull out the real pride and joy Claire had. It was the very shirt Caius mentioned they should get. Properly labelled and in his size too. Claire would peer over, wrenching herself from the awesome that was a Bennu, to smile. "See, now we've got shirts~ I can make more too for others at um... Wyvern's rest, yes? I just need to know their measurements. My little Big sister has cooking and teaching but I've got fashion." she announced quite proudly, as well as nonchalantly.

"Despite how she looks, Mr. Caius, this one is just 'big' that's all. She still responds just like she used to when I scold her~" that certainly got a giggle out of Claire. "Well, nobody was hurt, so all's well that ends well in that regard." Claire could consider her gift basket delivery a success.
Serah would be the one to explain what was happening, with Claire nodding in agreement. "I'm currently training~ In many ways admittedly." she admitted, thinking about how hard she worked to make said gift basket. Thus, when Caius said she didn't have to, she vehemently shook her head. "Not only is it good manners, it shows just how grateful I am to you. I'm sure Serah is too, now that this little misunderstanding is behind us." she noted before looking knowingly at Serah. In turn Serah offered to make it up to her, causing her to raise her right eyebrow. She mentioned a name, in turn, she rested her left hand on her hip. Claire's little Big sister had her attention now, in which she revealed a crystal that housed this Bennu. Claire was very intrigued at least, though she couldn't help but feel happy for being praised.
"Mastering Thunder is just the first step..." she admitted, though she'd put that aside for now. Caius was grateful for the gift and that's what mattered. Though more so, he announced he was heading to Torrensten, which got her to gasp in surprise. Only, there wasn't any hint of sadness. She took the bundled wrapping paper into her hands and smiled instead. "I'll think about sharing it with Serah~" she admitted only for Serah to mention how much work she put into them.
"SERAH!" she called out, flushing red with embarrassment. "I-I just needed the experience, in case I meet someone who is nice like Mr. Caius but my age..." she muttered, raising her left hand from her hip and covering her face. "A-anyway, right now I'm Provo's Lightning Mage. However, once I've raised my proficiency with different spells, I'll be heading to Torrensten too. Come to think of it, Serah, aren't you heading to Torrensten in a day or two also, accompanying Miss Lumina and her boyfriend by Airship?" Claire began, slyly changing the subject to something she could handle.
"My classes are in provo for now but... I'm officially aiming to join the University of Magic in Torrensten. My goal is to wow them with my proficiency. So, even though it's good bye for now, it's more of a see you soon. Besides, it's not just sweets in that basket. There's something else that shows our bond inside too. Please, take a look." she explained, only to recollect her failures in cooking.
Baking was hard! It was an art and a science! Sure, she burnt some batches, that happened... it's not like they had modern ovens to work with out here. The fire certainly proving her point on that... Fortunately, they didn't end up burning Miss Lumina's house down. Claire may still be getting used to things in this world but even she could tell that house was expensive. The time she put in too much sugar was... well, Claire had a sweet tooth, so...
"Ah right and despite how things look, I'm actually the older sister. I think this little incident proves as much, wouldn't you agree, Mr. Caius?"

Whilst Serah had long been planning her ambush of the dreaded Caius Ballad, Claire was planning her gesture of gratitude for Caius Dragelion. Ever since her many sessions learning advanced cooking principals, Claire had been preparing a small thank you basket. The plan for today was simple on the surface, with a bit of misdirection from Claire. The Farron sisters would finally move the last of their stuff into the house Lumina had provided. Serah had gone ahead to get the last of their stuff and Claire would meet her there. Except, Claire planned a small detour. She wanted to drop by the Dragonblades and give the thank you basket to Caius, independently of Serah.
Why? Claire just had a feeling that Serah didn't like Caius much. Uncertain as to why, she didn't want to go down that proverbial rabbit hole. It's why she split her time between staying at the Cabin, then spending her nights back home in Provo proper. At the cabin, she could meet with Caius, away from Serah's watchful eyes. Perhaps it was too presumptive to think of Caius as a friend, yet for Claire; he was her friend. The first friend she'd made in this new world, in Zephon.
Mog was her company for the venture, mostly being a guardian/defacto babysitter. Claire didn't mind, as the moogle was great company. A real partner in crime, even if he considered Claire his rival. It seemed that spirit of rivalry was rekindled slightly, after Claire defeated Mog in Rock, Paper, Scissors for what she believed was her first time. From time to time, she'd challenge Mog to other games, teaching him some fun ones from her childhood. Today, he seemed in high spirits and thus, opted to go on ahead to make sure the cabin was safe. Honestly, it seemed like routine at this point, so Claire let him be. She was pretty confident in her use of the Thunder spell now, no pesky Bombs would deter her!
So she walked, basket in hand, looking rather graceful. She was wearing a white long sleeve robe, akin to the design sported by white mages. Though it was spiced up a bit, the Claire touch(tm)! Beneath the robe, she had a simple black shirt, with the text Outlander Club, nicely embroidered by yours truly. The silver mini skirt was accompanied by a greenish white thigh high stockings, with black ankle boots. Her gentle footsteps prefaced her climb leading to the cabin. What she witnessed, caused her to gasp before rushing over to Caius.
"S-serah!? I don't remember teaching you to attack innocent people!" she cried out, having seen the cabin door wide open, some trees leaving tell tale marks of arrows, with an apologetic little BIG sister. "I'm sorry about this, Mr. Caius. Now I'm going to have to make you an apology basket as well..." she sighed, head downcast before offering the basket via the handle in her hands. Inside was various snacks, cookies mostly, among other sweets. However, what was really special, was the neatly folded shirt at the bottom of the treats.
