"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
"Serah is there for you, too. When times are tough, she'll help you. You can rely on her. Don't forget that." Claire spoke, some tears welling up in her eyes but she stood tall, smiled wide before closing her eyes. "Mom told me that back at the hospital. This time, I'll follow all her instructions, after all, she was right." Claire reinforced.
Zephon had become a place where she could be her Mother's daughter again. Instead of Serah's guardian named Lightning. There were even new people to meet and learn from. "Oooh, being introduced to royalty sounds like it'll be so much fun! I really haven't met a lot of people that aren't from Zephon." it spoke to Claire merely enjoying her time here like a second life. Something which made her feel a bit guilty, given what Serah had to go through. Though she'd shake that doubt off, it was that guardian nature that caused hr to underestimate Serah's strength, way too often in the past. There really was a time where she felt she was a better parent than her parents. The thought of such hubris mildly annoyed her, especially knowing Serah was just happy to spend time with her.
"That's why I want to make it up." she explained, "As my own person, I don't agree with Lightning. The more I get to spend time with you, face to face, the more I realize that we are different. That I went along with decisions so easily." she shook her head now, "You know... Snow is, a lot like our Father. Zell is too actually, now that I think about it..." her voice trailed off and while she took a long moment to think about it. She felt like she was rebelling against her entire life pre-separation and indirectly she may have stumbled into the why.
"S-serah! D-don't call it love! I'm sure I just... like Zell, as a friend." at least, so Claire thought but that didn't explain why she was blushing. Nor did she have any good explanation if pressed. Likewise, when the roles reversed between the two, she became immediately sheepish. "Ah...crimes, right...s-sorry sis. I-it's not like I'd have let him you know--- I won't do it again..." she sighed, feeling rightfully defeated in this instance.
Her whimsical nature did tend to go wrong at times, she felt that had something to do with the chaos but making that a crutch for her behaviour, wasn't a good idea. What was a reasonable crutch, pertained to her present existence and the question she asked Serah. The response she got was... well Claire was the older sister, regardless of being Lumina. Serah was attempting to conceal the truth and in the end, she admitted what little she knew. This left Claire silent and thoughtful, eyes downcast as she cupped her chin.
"I can...fill in the blanks." Claire began, closing her eyes as a faint smirk graced her lips. "Lightning is very subtle, so if there was any difference, you wouldn't see it easily. I'd hope that being whole, meant she felt lighter with a new outlook on life. In the times you checked in on Lightning before, setting aside hiding her gunblade. She did trust you and follow your instructions, right?" after getting a response, Claire opened her eyes.
"Then I'd say the future me is fine and well." she'd admit before holding up her right palm. "One God separates us, now they've summoned us, separately. Just from different timelines I imagine, since I have my power over chaos, something a future me couldn't wield while being in a new world." she'd admit before her thoughts shifted somewhat.
"Then I guess it's possible that your past self, is inside me. Thanks to you, as well as chaos giving me physical form, I'm able to exist." and given the circumstances, that was okay.

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Zell had attempted to explain why he left and Lumina listened, though it was clear on her face that she thought there was more to it. On the other hand, she didn't seem to want to pry either. Instead, she knew what she could do, clear up a misunderstanding between them. Knowing her own emotions and how chaotic they could be at times, it was easy to imagine mixed signals. That's where she'd speak up first.
"Oh...my response huh? Weeeeelll~" she laughed, a bit embarrassed but it was much more lighthearted now. "Somehow you defied the odds, Zell. The truth is, I've had some experience helping people remember things and dealing with amnesia. The way you spoke, back in the Inn, it reminded me of your desire to go back home when we were in Sonora. Honestly? It felt like you wanted to get back home right away and if you couldn't do it, I was worried you'd become very discouraged. If the gods summoned us here, then they have their own plans for us." she explained the real source of her feelings and why she was uncomfortable. The idea of Zell becoming despondent or miserable after months of trying to get his memories back, she imagined it back then and it hurt her.
This time, when Zell gave her a rather straight forward answer, she wasn't going to make the same mistake as last time. She smiled and nodded in agreement."Of course, as soon as we can. I didn't work as hard as I did for nothing you know~?" she decided to remind him, to make it clear that all of what she did, was genuinely for him.
"Just promise me that while we're here, you try to enjoy life okay? I wasted a lot of my life in pursuit of one specific goal, losing sight of the people around me. We're here and on the agenda of the gods, for now anyway." she admitted before continuing, "Also, if you do need to go somewhere or you want to split up for awhile. Please tell me first, it'd be very irresponsible of me, if I didn't at least give you some gil for the road." she gave him a stern look now before being unable to maintain such composure for long.
"Lastly, if you're serious about protecting me, I have very high standards for my protector~! I'm a trained soldier after all, I know what to look for." she stated after placing her right hand over her heart.

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Ordinarily leveraging critique of Lumina's size was effective. He'd seen as much when they stayed at the Inn. On the other hand, Zell had also seen Lumina's real appearance too. The guise of the young girl, while not explained to Zell on why she took this form, was a ruse. So, it left her with a raised left brow. When he placed his hand ontop of her head, she had mixed feelings. The intent of it, was to tease her but... it felt oddly reassuring and her heart was beating faster and louder too.
"Um..." she managed to squeak out but couldn't formulate any words. The booster seat remark made her gasp and place both hands on her hips. For in truth, her personal seat was elevated higher. Not because she needed a boost in height, mind. She just enjoyed the view and it wasn't in the cockpit anyway. In the end, she shook her head and placed her right hand to her forehead.
Once Zell's tone shifted to serious, Lumina relaxed and looked a bit thoughtful. He reiterated that she'd done a lot to help him. Admittedly, Lumina had a feeling she didn't do enough. A lingering sentiment that rose to the surface when Zell declared it was his time to protect her. She had mixed feelings on that, some of it originating from her connection to Lightning. In that she favoured helping and protecting others. Instead of relying on them for her own needs. Where she contrasted was Lumina didn't try to do things on her own. Relying on others and having their companionship, was much better than being alone.
Alone. That really was the issue, which caused her visage to soften as her voice dropped. "Then... why did you leave me, Zell?" whatever limited pride she might have about being protected, her first thought being she wasn't Serah. Lumina couldn't deny there was a feeling of being safe with him. Safe and comfortable, she may have had the former... given she'd settled in Provo and networked plenty. The later part? Well, she did have that breakdown earlier and given her frequent display of blushing, clearly she wasn't comfortable.
"Serah, turned out to be here, which I can't explain how, given what I told you. I want to continue taking precautions, just in case. So... You'll be here, from now on, right...?"

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
The idea of going for a ride didn't surprise Lumina, she figured upon hearing this he'd want to. What got her eyes to light up, was the idea of visiting Quistis. "That sounds like a great idea, my airship is due back in a couple of days. They're picking up goods from Torensten to sell here." she explained, revealing one of her more... cleaner operations in terms of wealth. Strangely, things were coming together for both of them.
Zell mentioned he'd gotten some leads on the pursuit of evil. Even as he casually walked by her side, Lumina looked to him with surprise. His reminder of being the muscle, got her to smile. "That you are~ I'm...impressed, really. I didn't think investigating would be part of the Muscle's job description." she teased, for admittedly, she reckoned doing detective work would be her thing. On the other hand, didn't she spoil him enough already? It was good to be able to rely on someone else and his passion for this was clear.
It made for a nice flow of conversation, light and casual, easy to follow. That is, until Zell was tasked with answering one of Lumina's prominent questions. His response was so shocking, so nonchalant, that Lumina gasped in surprise. Stunned speechless, she let Zell continue. Much to her relief, there was some logic to this. He'd narrowed down possibilities, searched Torensten which she was around on and off. Granted, airship, so the odds of them running into each other was very slim. That left Provo in his mind, causing Lumina to playfully roll her eyes. "There was one other city, Aljana. I'm guessing you haven't been there yet though~" neither had Lumina in fairness but she had been invited. Alas, she insisted on not going too far in case Zell did return and her instincts were right!
Noticing Zell slow to a stop, Lumina did as well, looking him over curiously. What came next certainly caused her heart rate to spike. He carefully leaned in, one hand on his hip and with his free hand, he poked her forehead. She blinked in surprise, more so because of how close he was. She'd practically frozen in place even, waiting with baited breath for some verbal explanation. Zell's point came and Lumina blinked before scrunching her eyebrows. "I-it's not that I d-don't believe!" she stammered back, arms at her side, albeit hands clenched into fists in a cute fashion.
"I just worry!" she cried out but then, stood up straight for a moment and begun to contemplate. Surely, she'd said as much before but now she began to wonder why she worried. Zell said it himself, he was the muscle, that implied being strong. Shouldn't he be protecting her? It felt more like Lumina wanted to protect him! "Let me try that again..." she spoke softer and quieter, uncertain why she'd become so fidgety now. "When you're by my side, I'm confident you can beat anyone. I also know that when it's over, I'll be there to get you something. You're a lot of fun to be around, even if I have to babysit you a little~" hopefully that made sense, she looked deep into Zell's eyes, waiting for his reaction.

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Lumina sighed in relief when Zell confirmed Quistis was in Torensten. The last thing she wanted, was for him to lose contact with someone so close. Relief it seemed, was temporary; as after the good news came confirmation that he mentioned Lumina to Quistis. This shouldn't have been a surprise but it flustered Lumina all the same. After all, what kind of girl does so much for a stranger? "A girl in love would do something so benevolent. On the other hand, it could just be someone who is really nice and helpful, like me." maybe Quistis thought of her as the latter and not the former?
The promise of an introduction snapped Lumina out of her thoughts. "I'm glad, I'll look forward to it. Oh... and I won't um... suddenly cling onto your arm this time. I'm not even sure what got over me when I did that..." with the way her emotions were going and how much of her heart she was wearing on her sleeve, she might not regain her composore or colour during this evening stroll. At least Serah wasn't here to see this.
Bliss, however fleeting it was, seemed to fade at the mention of the Gods message. The special voice Zell used to say the message was amusing, no doubt but Lumina honed in on the 'may' guide you back home part. Quite frankly, Lumina didn't like it, this was way too suspicious. "If you want something done right, then do it yourself." Lumina thought, knowing she could teleport anywhere, provided she had some knowledge of the layout. Her abilities had come in real useful during Zell's absence, perhaps she just needed to hone them. Then world traversal could be achieved, god-free edition~!
Her silence and thoughts didn't distract her from listening to Zell's conclusion. It was clear that Zell found his reason for being here, just as Lumina realized her own reason earlier. "Oh~! You have airships in your world too?" she spoke up, rather enthusiastically. Oh, how she had a surprise for Zell then. "As it just so happens, I've got my own airship here in Zephon~ I call it the Lumina-MKXIII~" she paused for a moment, waiting to see Zell's expression. "I'm just kidding on the name... Radiance is it's real name. Renwick won't let me pilot it though, even though it's my ship... Torensten has rules for pilots to be able to fly." she crossed her arms and pouted.
"By the way, are you sure about this hero business? I can't recall coming across any serious evil threats so far. Feels like I've been living a safe but boring life here in Zephon." she giggled but ultimately, she wasn't going to rain on Zell's parade. "Part of me knows you're strong, really strong; so you won't succumb to whatever evil comes your way but... I can't help worrying about you all the same." she admitted, feeling a bit at ease confessing this.
"Also, I wanted to know how you knew where to find me? I mean w-what if I had left Provo...?" admittedly, Lumina had precautions in place in case such a thing did happen but that wasn't the point. Was telling her this story really the only reason he came back and how far would he have gone to find her and tell her the truth he discovered?

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Serah's flailing when receiving Claire's silent response, amused the older Farron. Their conversation so far had covered various topics, with highs and lows. Her next response seemed to work quite well with the silent response. Keeping Serah on her toes, as she was quite surprised. In this way, Claire was able to demonstrate her differences from Lightning. On the other hand, it wasn't entirely a victory. Serah's response to it, indicated all her longing, with only three words. Not quite the response she was hoping for but very understandable. There was something else to it though, the surprise wasn't just Claire's agreement. A hint of not knowing was there, which confused Claire. How could Serah know this, she was based on Claire's memories, inside her at the time of Snow's deep depression.
This wasn't the only anomaly when Claire thought about it further. She didn't think it was unnatural for Serah to remember her adventures so vividly. It's more she seemed to remember her time in Crystal Stasis like a passing memory. Was Serah from a future timeline perhaps? One where she was successful in protecting her? That would explain things. This thought lingered in the back of her mind as their conversation progressed. "Of course I promise~ I found my reason for being in this world already. I just have more reasons now and I'm glad I can count on your help too." she explained, somewhat cryptically.
Seeing the ray of hope perk her up, Claire was relieved. Serah was practically shining now and that made her happy, as well as proud. "If anyone could find Vanille, besides me of course~ It's Fang. On the other hand, I can't help but feel our friends would be safer back home than here." in essence, the idea of wishing their friends were here with them... was tough. The forces that be, were powerful in terms of their summoning. "Royalty, huh~?" that certainly surprised Claire about this Noctis. "I hope I get to meet him." maybe she could help with finding something for a sophisticated gentleman.
"Ah, of course Mog is the backup. Lightning wouldn't sneak away from Mog, especially if she's not in full condition." Claire thought to herself and if that somehow did happen, Mog would find Serah right away. This made Claire oh so amused but she nodded in agreement, until Serah slipped up with her wording. Serah's wish didn't surprise her, "I will make it up to you for that now that I'm able to." she commented softly.
Besides, what Serah really wanted to hear was about Zell. She called him a Knight, no, her Knight, in shining armour no less. Claire blinked in confusion for a moment. While Claire was a bit slow when it came to her own emotions, perhaps because there was so much of it or more than likely, due to her connection to chaos. Soon her eyes widened and she let out a loud gasp.
"D-do you think...Zell, see's it like that? This might sound weird but when it comes to my abilities, what I can do as a person. I don't really see myself as any different from Lightning. We went through the same events after all but it's clear just looking at me, that I don't look as strong, physically. Especially when I appear younger so..." perhaps Zell thought he needed to protect her, to a point. Then once she was safe in Provo, it was okay to leave for a bit. Then once he found out everything, Claire couldn't help but think he ran straight back to her. Which, gave her complicated feelings, resulting in a faint blush. Was she always going to be like this when thinking about Zell now!?
"Now I feel a new level of embarrassment." she sighed but it was much too happy. "So, that story you want to hear, this is my perspective so far." she began, clearing her throat as she tried to recollect the experience. How nice it would be to have an Oracle driver recorder around now. Well, she could display the events as illusions but part of connecting with her sister was telling these stories first hand.
"When I met Zell back in Sonora, it was entirely on accident. I had picked him at random as part of my mischief, attempting to distract the guards from pursuing me for smuggling Diamond Dust. I um, eheh... made the guards think Zell had it instead..." Claire paused, rubbing the back of her head. Her blush deepening just a bit before she continued, "O-of course I wasn't going to let a bystander take the fall. Especially one that might just be a denizen of this world. To my surprise, he fought off the guards easily and showed his skill. Kind of like a Knight, if I'm being honest. Ah but that's not the term I used back then, I just admitted her had the Muscle to be a...guard. The problem was, after helping him escape further pursuit, I left for just a little bit to get him some hotdogs, Zell really loves hotdogs. Only to find him passed out! At that time, I didn't feel like he was guarding me but rather that I was protecting him. It was easy and I just figured, it had to be me. Especially when, after I promised I'd be able to take care of both of us, he turned down my offer and said he just wanted to get back home."
Taking a moment to consider that crucial juncture, Claire realized that's when her feelings changed a bit. "I thought he might just be good company when I helped get him away from the guards and if it didn't last, then it's fine. Once he said he wanted to get home, it wasn't about having company anymore or trying to prevent myself from being lonely. I had to make sure that my plan worked so that we had any resource available on Zephon, so he could find his way back home. Getting Zell, a wanted man and all the Diamond Dust I um... 'acquired' out of Sonora wasn't easy." this made Claire giggle, a very fun and engaging challenging. Everything that could go wrong, did.
"Despite our best efforts to get Zell a disguise and avoid our Caravan being properly searched at the border... We ran into raiders from the North and the Guards possibly in pursuit of us or doing a patrol for raiders. In the end, we got separated and the Caravan had to pull over for awhile some ways out of Sonora. I did my best to protect it, given the merchandise but I wasn't going to leave without Zell. Especially since he got captured just as we were so close to a get away. Once he escaped Sonora, again with some help from someone on the inside... We got away successfully and travelled to Provo. In Provo I began to search out some buyers for the Diamond Dust, learned about Provo's reliance on certain technology provided by Sonora and struck a few deals to help out." oh how proud Claire sounded of this mischief. That she had no shred of shame right now.
Concluding her story on the start of her criminal empire, Claire had a very serious question for Serah. "I've been wondering, I have... memory issues, just like Zell had memory issues. You seem to remember a lot, sis. So, I wanted to know... Before you were summoned here, what was life like. I'm guessing you're from the future or at least, a future where Bhunivelze is defeated. Do you know what my fate is, back home...?" This was a difficult question, brewing within her subconscious for sometime but she was glad she had the courage to ask.

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
To Lumina's surprise, not only did Zell truly appreciate everything she had done. He even pointed out aspects she hadn't considered. Part of her wondered if he was just trying to make her feel better, as she didn't feel like she'd done enough for Zell. Yet alone contribute to bringing his memories back. This manifested with a quizzical expression initially. In time, her expression softened; being more receptive to Zell's appreciation.
A soft 'hmm' escaped Lumina's lips at the mention of the Crystalus Divider. Having started her adventure around the Metaia temple, she had also conversed with many priests and monks alike. She couldn't put her finger on it but perhaps it was through passing conversation that she'd heard about this place. Zell getting ahead of her, only to walk backwards marked a shift in tone. They were reaching pertinent information. That came when he mentioned walking with a caravan, which caused her to sigh in relief. Then her eyes widened that this was how he met Serah. Part of her wondered if that was a chance meeting or a fated encounter.
Considering Zell met other people, Lumina's interest was quite piqued. She noted Balthier but really lit up when he said he met a friend. "Someone from his world?" she mused to herself, visibly surprised. Zell continued to explain that he met Quistis, someone he viewed like a sister. Lumina was starting to feel genuine excitement, in accompaniment of the relief. Sure, she was a bit bothered that he encountered zombies in this world. He nonchalantly blew past that part of the story and it made her remember that he was supposed to be the muscle. Somewhere, in her desire to take care of the knucklehead, she'd forgotten this fact and personified him like an innocent, hyperactive puppy instead.
Those feelings, something nostalgic but no longer true for Lumina, vanished when he took her hands in his. She'd been a bit swept up in the story, so it was only when there was a brief pause that she registered the act. It caused her to blush from head to toe and given her outfit, her arms and ankles really showed it! Even after he let her hands go, the lingering warmth remained and Lumina audibly gulped. Whatever feeling just shot through her, she'd never felt it before. Not as Lightning and definitely not during her separation. Her heart was racing so fast, she nearly missed the conclusion to this. Which was arguably the most important part. Zell had meditated in a temple and received visions from the Gods.
Anything to do with Gods made Lumina wary and weary all at once. Portrayed upon her visage with a look of concern, as she slowly blinked. Zell wouldn't be receiving the usual reaction to his rambling at all. Instead, he'd find that Lumina was very attentive, given her opening remark. "Zell? Why didn't you bring Quistis with you?" in her mind, if she'd found Serah, there's no way she'd abandon her sister to come find Zell. In fact, realizing that's somewhat what he did, it made her blush more. It meant she was that important and it changed her feelings on being abandoned. Though the pain was still there...
"Also the gods are the reason your memory is back, really? There was no catch that came with this revelation...?" she was skeptical, given her circumstances which caused her to close the distance between them. She began to examine him carefully, in a very animated way as she circled him briefly. "Well, you do seem okay at least. Especially your appetite~" this made her smile.
"...You didn't happen to talk to Quistis about me, did you?" she did want to meet her, admittedly but she was hoping she wouldn't be walking into a situation similar to Serah. Her nerves were still shot from that and it was her fault too! No wonder she was still red, so she'd try to cover for this question of hers. "I just, it'd be nice to avoid another...misunderstanding." she paused for a moment, looking around the area. Hopefully there weren't bystanders who knew her around.
"What else did you learn? I'm guessing you found a way to return home right? That's why you came back here to tell me and offered to take me with you."

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Lumina couldn't help but let out a "Hey!" in response to her homecooking not counting. She knew Serah was better at cooking. Better at quite a few domestic things in comparison to her tomboyish legacy. She pouted for a brief moment before shaking her head. "It's not my home cooking that we'll be enjoying~" she began, slowly gaining some confidence back. Thanks to Serah being merciful and sparing her and Zell.
"This place is a barbecue style joint, with a fun theme. They primarily serve up dishes from local ingredients, with a few special items from Torensten. Plenty to eat, plenty to drink so I hope you both have your appetite's ready." she stated wagging her right pointer finger. Gesturing for them to follow, she'd continue to 'sell' them on this place. "The food is made fresh every day, with generous portion sizes. It might not be those hot dogs with the works but the meat dishes are really good." what Lumina left out was the presentation of the establishment. It looked like a cabin house on a ranch, nicely decorated on the inside with tables that had their own grills.
"When we're finished, we'll be going back to my house~" she declared for yes, in the time that Zell had left her, Lumina managed to acquire her own home here in Provo. She was practically beaming after saying as much, retrieving a set of keys on a key ring to spin on her right index finger. "There's three extra rooms so you can both pick out your own room."

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Treating Zell to dinner felt like old times, having Serah around for dinner further fuelled Nostalgia. It made Lumina realize how much she'd settled in Provo. To a life that wasn't as thrilling but it was hers and that meant more than her survival mentality comprehended. Now another new experience for the day emerged. Waiting for Serah to turn in for the night, so that she could talk with Zell, alone. Her home in Provo was quite cozy, not overly large but rather spacious on the inside. With four separate bedrooms, Serah had her choice of three of them. Along with the opportunity to explore Lumina's house a bit.
Lumina wasn't convinced that was enough for this ploy, which meant she'd be hearing about this in a future conversation. Oh well, tomorrow's embarrassment meant little in the face of the current. Lumina having her feelings called into question, now had to consciously think about them. Despite putting them off for months, burying herself in her goal of making a lot of gil so that she could live comfortably. Back then, she told herself that this was all for Serah. That staying out of danger was her job as a vessel and any mischief she got up to, needed to be minor. Except, as she walked with Zell beneath the night sky, something became clear to her.
Only realizing that she was staring a short time after he'd stated he wanted to hear what she was up to. Lumina blinked for a moment, before smiling shyly. "I'm glad you liked it but I had help. The Innkeeper that owns the Inn we spent a night in, that place was his suggestion. He recommended it during the morning when I woke up, he figured you'd like it." thinking back, Lumina didn't end up trying the place out until almost a month later. As the owner became an acquaintance of hers, as well as a business partner.
"Mmm, as for what I've been up so? I solemnly swear I've been up to no good~" Lumina joked, even if that was somewhat true, it did start out on the shady side. After all, she did successfully smuggle Diamond Dust out of Sonora. A feat she couldn't have done without Zell for one. Chuckling softly, Lumina continued, "I had a goal in mind, to make as much gil as possible so that I could live comfortably and have some fun. I told myself that it was for Serah, as I was supposed to be protecting her heart and soul inside me. Being stranded in a new world meant I needed to be extra careful." Lumina didn't look like the type to be so responsible, as well as considerate but there was more to light than meets the eye.
"Do you remember what I told you back in Sonara, Zell?" she paused now, having recollected that moment over the months since they parted ways. "I said 'Once I help you escape, I'll be able to take care of both of us.' To my surprise, you didn't accept my offer because you just wanted to go home. That was when I realized I genuinely wanted to help you, instead of just wanting some company. I guess... I didn't really express that or show a desire that I was serious about going home myself. Maybe that would have changed things, then again... maybe it wouldn't." With such thoughts on her mind, for months. The truth was, Lumina reckoned it was her fault Zell left and worried he'd gotten himself into trouble.
"I'm not the type to charge in head first. In that way, you remind me of Serah and her boyfriend, Snow. What I ended up doing was making a foundation so that we could explore Zephon, searching for clues, so that you could get home." she smiled sadly as she figured, even without Zell telling her. That he was able to push through and find what he desired. Without getting invested in this world.
"So, what did you find~? Tell me everything."

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Claire didn't look convinced by Serah's quick retort. There was a knowing look in her sea blue eyes, even without her mischievous grin backing it up. Though she didn't comment on it, opting to let their conversation take its course. The topic of their Mother and that final visit was a tough one. So much had changed and while Claire was grateful that Serah wasn't in the room for their Mother's instructions on what to do next. The guilt of not following those instructions still stung, even if it was better to learn late than never. That's why she gave Serah a quick hug. It was only natural to miss their Mother but she wanted to comfort Serah all the same.
Upon Claire's quick subject change to Snow, Claire couldn't help but note Serah's posture. Knowing when to prod and when not to, was very important. Same for holding back the desire to laugh a bit, as Claire wondered who the big sister was in this moment. Serah looked like one of her old teachers, ready to lecture her for a prank she played on some boy. Immediately, given Serah's retort, Claire raised her right hand like a school girl. Slowly, she curled her fingers slightly to hold up her index finger, then middle finger, then ring finger, then pinky followed by her thumb. That was five but when she added her left index and middle finger, she batted her eyelashes sweetly, smile not fading in the least. Yes, Claire could count seven times where Serah charged in without thinking and that was off hand! In that way, the Farron sisters were very much alike.
Well, Lightning and Serah anyway. Claire didn't leap into danger. She planned things out and acted rationally. Well, there was her daring escape from Sonora but she'd maintain that was for a good cause! The Farrons certainly knew how to rebound though, Serah continued bravely defending Snow. Though she left out a small line that Claire picked up on, causing her to raise her right brow as her hands relaxed to her side for a moment. "Snow earned his place in the family, you mean~?" she reiterated with a teasing tone before placing her left hand on her hip.
"Sure, I admit it." she said coolly, likely throwing her sister for a loop. Having spent a lot of time with Snow after his loss of Serah, his bleeding heart was enough to convince her of his true nature. "He can't be as bad as Lightning thinks given how much he pinned for you, pleaded with gods, wishing for your rebirth. He was so gloomy, he's totally lost without you." and thus, while she wouldn't say it aloud, today; the two were perfect for each other.
Of course, that wasn't the crux of what Serah wanted. Her own suspicions from their reunion proved true. Serah didn't want to lose Claire, she wanted her to be in her life always. So she closed her eyes for a moment before responding, "You know Serah, as long as I have my connection to Chaos, I can visit you and Snow, whenever you want. It is that kind of power after all~" one that transcended realms to connect people's hearts and souls. It made them human and gave them strength capable of defeating the Gods. Whatever summoned them and others from their worlds to Zephon, may have been very powerful but... it also meant there must be a way for them to traverse between worlds too! She wasn't going to leave finding those answers up to Serah either. "I just have to master these powers while we're here. That's why, I promise to take you to Torensten. We could have gone today but I can't just up and leave Zell without notice." she concluded before adding, "Oh and we should be enjoying the current life we've got, right~?"
That last part, even though it was spoken softly, was important to stress. Both of them had a way of becoming too focused on their goals, that little moments passed them by. Well, in Claire's humble opinion she was excluded from that. So Lightning and Serah had a way of becoming too focused. Playfully twirling on her heel, she'd look to the direction of the airship taking off before resuming discussion. She'd asked about Lightning's whereabouts and gotten an interesting answer.
"Fang's here? Oh no, poor Vanille must be so lonely." Claire could barely hide her preference between the two. Vanille and her had gotten close, while Fang didn't like Lumina's mischievous nature. That didn't mean she disliked Fang, far from it. She was relieved that someone dependable from their world was here. "If you ever see Noctis again, you'll have to give him a gift as thanks." she noted off hand, not knowing much about him, except what she was told. He did have a nice name though, entirely the opposite o her own.
"Mmm... I'm still a bit worried. You may have hid her Blazefire Saber, however if Lightning wanted to get up to mischief, she still could. After all, she is a trained soldier, she knows how to fight unarmed. All that training, I actually would have quit if I were in charge..." Claire shook her head. While nostalgia took her, she blinked when asked how this all started. Then she began to rub the back of her head, meaning there was something...awry about all this.
"Well~ It's kind of thanks to Zell..." she'd admit, though it was clear the full story would have to be pried from her.
