"Now that's not right. You're not supposed to throw your life away."
Post by Claire Farron on Feb 23, 2019 12:02:38 GMT -6
Although Lumina retained her look of concern, seeing the SeeD on his knees, giving her puppy eyes... it was just too much! So she walked a bit closer to him, invading his personal space as she placed her right hand on his left shoulder. Her lips slowly curling into a sweet smile."Oh,you~ Asking so nicely like that, how could I say no~?" she began, playing up her own cuteness as well as being his saviour. The feeling unfortunately, didn't feel as good as she wanted it to. Like she was betraying a part of herself in this instance. No matter, her trouble didn't reflect upon her pretty little visage in the least.
"Still, it's not safe for you to go outside right now. So, if you do everything I ask..." she made sure to speak as eloquently and maturely as she could.
Those words would linger, even as her smile never left. Naturally, Lumina wanted to enjoy having Zell at her mercy like this. He was like an overgrown puppy but was he as loyal as one? They say dog is man's best friend and having a loyal servant who was strong would serve her purposes. Especially since the cost to her was so low! Only when he responded would she finally speak up.
"I'll get you some new hot dogs then, two with the works, right?" Lumina was revealing her power of observation now. "For now though, there is some food and drink here too. Just over there through that door, a little kitchen with a full fridge, stove and all." she continued, gesturing with her left hand to the location in question.
This way, Lumina covered all bases. He could get a little something to hold him over while she went off to reclaim his prize anew. When she returned with the hot dogs, Zell's loyalty would be hers forever. Well, at least until something else distracted is heart. She wasn't going to bet entirely on the long term of a man so simple. It likely would take a bit more of her magic for that but she'd do it. Loyal dogs would never abandon her after all.
With a glow of soft, warm light, her body would become enveloped in it, before she vanished. It would be approximately thirty to forty minutes later before her return. Lumina manifested within the hideaway, a hot dog in each hand; done up just as he had before the guards sent them to the ground. "Ooooohh Zell~? I've fulfilled your request, two hot dogs with the works."

"Now that's not right. You're not supposed to throw your life away."
Post by Claire Farron on Feb 10, 2019 22:32:48 GMT -6
Lumina gave Zell a sympathetic look. Part of stringing him along the way she had, was making him become completely dependent on her after all. She'd let him say his piece and well, he was entitled to some information, so why not provide it? "It's nice to meet you, Zell Dincht. My name is Lumina." she began, placing her right hand over her chest.
"That stone in your pocket, is a type of rare metal that exists solely within Sonora's mines. It's not meant to leave the city and only select people should be handling the ore in that form, before it's used to make up various technologies in the city. The secret is that it resonates well with magic." Lumina explained, now covering her mouth with both her hands. Then the mysterious girl twirled on the ball of her left foot, so that her back was facing Zell for a moment.
"You're probably wondering how such even got into your pocket? You're obviously a victim in all this, right? Well, recall your actions previously, weren't you around a lot of people?" Lumina was admittedly leading him into his own answer, to help make the deception real. Leveraging what he saw and what was around him previously, things which she'd not seen mind; would work wonders. Her sea blue irises observed him scrutiny. Waiting for the moment of realization to occur in Zell's eyes.
"As for why this happened to you... well, you're a smart guy Zell. A would be smuggler wants to get a rare ore outside of a city that polices it. Said smuggler is trying to make a break for it but not far from your position were guards, interrogating a young girl about those very ores. What would you do~?" further leading, even buttering him up with compliments that weren't true.
Now, she'd bring her left hand to cusp her cheek. Her elbow being propped up by her right hand. The look of genuine concern on her face, would indicate just how much trouble Zell was in. "Just remember to breathe, I'm going to help you, please don't forget that, Zell." and well, she did mean it too.

"Now that's not right. You're not supposed to throw your life away."

So much success and so quickly to boot! Lumina could hardly contain herself, she wanted to laugh but she needed to keep up this plot for as long as possible. Unaware of Zell's...lacking intelligence, she'd reason that she solely had him caught in the heat of the moment. Thus she'd drive up his anxiousness further as they ran. "We need to get off the main roads, quickly!" she stated, before pointing to a side road, then another. She'd practically mapped this escape route out ahead of time. Which meant Zell would soon be treated to Sonora's underworld, a place where the Black Market thrived.
Thus Lumina came to a slow descent. Granted, they weren't really 'underground', not yet anyway. She'd entered a building that seemed to be abandoned. A simple warehouse, scarcely lit but known to the criminal agents. It was a wonder that someone was paying rent on this place but nobody knew who. Nor did they likely care, so long as it continued to be a place where they could meet under the eyes of the zealous guards. Invading Zell's personal space as soon as he came to a stop, she made a motion to snatch the prism ore from his pockets. It had to be done quick to feel like she genuinely did it.
"This little thing caused so much trouble..." she began, holding it with her left hand which was properly covered. "I'll find a place to hide it but you... I don't think you're going to be safe in Sonora anymore. I'm sure the guards and other people have memorized your face. You poor thing, are you still hungry?" surely he must be, so she'd use that to appeal to him. There were a few dusty crates, some covered with a a black tarp. She'd rummage about a few of them before opening it just enough to slip her left hand in and drop it in carefully. Then she'd close it just as carefully.
"Keeping you here until nightfall is safest. There should be some food around here and a bit of entertainment too. Once night sets in, the guards focus their attention to the North. I'll sneak you out of Sonora and bring you to a safe place down south, in Metaia." she explained, with so much confidence, so as to reassure the would be criminal. Little did he know that he'd actually be aiding the real smuggler with an operation that whilst many tried and failed, could just be the first time someone pulled it off.

"Now that's not right. You're not supposed to throw your life away."
Post by Claire Farron on Feb 2, 2019 16:59:10 GMT -6
With the guards sent flying, Lumina giggled in delight. This was way too much, she hadn't expected him to fight back, which meant he was definitely on the radar! Lumina began to clap enthusiastically, "Bravo, bravo. That was an excellent display of physical prowess; I'm impressed." Lumina proceeded to walk over to Zell as the guards landed and were promptly winded. They'd need a moment or two to get up. Good thing Lumina only needed a moment to work her magic. Ah, not actual magic in this case, just her way with words.
"Of course, now you're going to be in big trouble." Lumina continued, her hands moving to cover her mouth to express shock and awe. For a moment her eyes widened, then they downcast to look to his pockets. Now the real magic came, as Zell would see the source of what the commotion was all about. A little prism of special metallic ore, the city's life blood. They'd never trade it to anyone else and it was used to make all their grand inventions! "Having that in your pocket marks you as a potential smuggler. Don't worry though, I'm here to help. You'll have to run though, ready?" she moved her hands from her lips, then signaled with her left hand three fingers. Then two fingers, then one finger, which was her index finger.
"Let's go!" her hand balled up into into a fist as she pumped it in the air before promptly running further ahead. She'd look back over her right shoulder, just to be sure Zell was following her. Those guards weren't going to get up for a while longer but once they did, they'd probably radio for backup. Code red, code amber, code something, either way, smugglers didn't leave those walls. So how did the little trickster decide get into this smugguling business anyway? Well it all started when a caravan passed through Metaia. There was talk of Sononara having interesting technology that could do all kinds of simple and advanced functions. Though the mystery was that the caravan had no examples on their person to prove as much. When asked why that was, they explained the situation and that caught Lumina's attention.
So she made her way here, to confirm what was said but it wasn't enough to see the completed products. She needed to see the source material and well... she had. Though there was an important caveat to that and it was the crux of her deception to boot. "Make sure you don't touch it, fingerprints and all." Lumina informed though she was sure there were many questions to be asked. Sadly, the roller coaster was just getting started!

"Now that's not right. You're not supposed to throw your life away."
Post by Claire Farron on Feb 2, 2019 13:23:56 GMT -6
One could hardly fault Zell for ignoring his surroundings. Two hot dogs in hand, each done up with the works; their pleasing scents wafted in his wake. Though perhaps ignoring his surroundings would lead to bittersweet partings with his precious items? To start, whilst he was in line initially, there was a situation developing not far from the vendor's stall. The guards were growing increasingly agitated, despite trying to keep their voices to considerate levels.
The source for the guards frustration was none other than Lumina. Initially, they held her up under suspicion she was trying to smuggle their precious metal ore. "No,no,no. Where would I put such a thing on my person? No pockets here...or here, see~?" innocent though her response may sound, did she have to demonstrate the lack of pockets with touch? Now they were flustered ontop of frustrated, for Lumina's point was compelling but looks were deceiving. Yet none felt up to the task of a body search. What would citizens of Sonora think if they saw them thoroughly patting down a young girl?
"You wouldn't lie to us, would you missy? You're sure that you don't have any of that precious metal on you, yes?" naturally Lumina shook her head before smiling. "I'm very sure I don't have it on me." Lumina reiterated before turning and pointing in the direction that Zell was coming from. "I think he might have what you're looking for, look closely at the edge of his pockets."
Naturally the guards needed to squint, waiting for the young man to come into better visibility. That was when Lumina worked her magic, a simple illusion and the guards would see what she wanted them to. A bit of ore, in a thin prism shape, poking out from one of his pockets. That was all it took for them to stop hassling her and immediately make a charge for Zell, crying out "HALT!" as they did.
"Boy, these guards sure get bent out of shape about that metal ore. Someone should teach them that it's wrong to monopolize resources found in nature." there was a twinkle within her blue irises, for who better to teach the guards and by extension, Sonara; the error of their ways? Her parents taught her better than that, sharing was caring, as was giving back. She imagined what another city in Zephon could do with this technology? "I wonder what those Monks would think if they saw it. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces!"
Not that she was entirely in the clear yet. The guards needed to have not a single doubt within their minds about her innocence. That meant she couldn't just run off and let a stranger deal with the consequences. Though it would be fun to see how far they'd take their presumptions. Shame Zell might lose his hot dogs due to the guards attempting to tackle him as part of detaining a potential smuggler!

"Now that's not right. You're not supposed to throw your life away."
HEIGHT:: 5'7 HAIR/EYES/SKIN:: Rose pink hair, sea blue eyes, fair complexion DISTINGUISHING MARKS:: N/A
II. PERSONA
Claire can be very eccentric with a body language that is very animated. She can be quite coy, opting to tell half truths in times where a person may need to know the complete story. At other times, to those who should not know the truth of a matter, Claire will happily divulge said truths. She is a very good liar, seemingly with no tells and can be quite convincing. Her intelligence allows her to analyze people deeply within a single interaction. Once she's made her assessments, she's prone to push and prod at their weaknesses, so long as it suits her.
When she is not antagonizing, Claire can be quite charismatic. She's often seen smiling and enjoys helping others. Despite her cool beauty, Claire can be endearing to those around her. Able to assuage young and old alike, even when her words are empty. Her profound words can shake the conviction's of even the most steadfast personalities.
Claire is very mischievous. While it is usually harmless, she enjoys light teasing, as well as flirting, in order to chip away at someone's mental armour. If there is a seed of doubt, she will nurture it without missing a beat. If one is angry, Claire will feed the flames of wrath. Claire is quite fond of riddles and allowing others to read between the lines. At times she will challenge someone with questions in passing.
Claire is quite driven in her desires and can plan meticulously if need be. She's quick to adapt if the situation requires it and loves to be challenged, as much as she challenges. At times, when one is privy to her innermost thoughts, Claire can be viewed as childish or bratty at times. This is something people close to her get to see. In the past, putting up a charade of confidence or acting as enigmatic as possible, was meant to keep someone thinking about her. She fears being alone above all her other problems, so surrounding herself with companions, is preferred.
III. HISTORY
Repressed heart meets contained soul
Long ago Claire Farron sealed away part of her heart after her parents death. That part of her heart contained suppressed feelings, selfishness and vulnerability alike. Locked away, it felt like the new Lightning had tried to kill part of herself and only when she entered Crystal sleep, could this fragmented part of her heart come to life. It resonated with Serah's soul as Lightning slept and soon the two merged. Using her connection to chaos which had entered the mortal realm, Lumina was able to manifest. Now she dwelt within Nova Chrysalia, engaging the populace and gaining a reputation as a trickster. At times, she would help the citizens, though it had a tendency to lead to disadvantages later. She would also tell people about Lightning.
Lumina had forged connections with Lightning's former companions, starting with Vanille and Fang. Her existence among the populace earned her a reputation as a trickster. Though Nova's denizens do not regard her as malign in the least, merely playful. When Fang was separated from Vanille, Lumina would remain by her side. Seeing someone else be lonely, was simply not an option for Lumina. Though her time was not solely spent with Vanille alone. Lightning would awaken soon and she'd set her sights upon Noel. She'd fabricate a prophecy for him to follow and he became so devout that it pleased Lumina very much.
Upon her first encounter with Lightning, she decides to test her using a powerful illusion. Sitting above on a chandelier, she causes Lightning to perceive Snow as herself and destroy her sword in kind. Whilst she and Snow are distracted, she sets the chandelier on fire and takes her leave. For her second test, Lumina decides to appear before Lightning in a Chaos Infusion. When Lightning can see through the chaos, Lumina is impressed and wants to test her more. So she summons one of her friends, a Zaltys to bar her path. Lightning clears this challenge and further catches Lumina's interest, by deciding to save snow and the other denizens of Nova.
After passing her tests, Lumina would regularly appear to Lightning. She'd form a place within Lightning's subconsciousness where she could speak freely and privately to her. There she could plant seeds of doubt and muddle Lightning's thoughts. After all, Lightning needed to learn that Bhunivelze was not whom he seemed. Lumina would strengthen Lightning with monsters of chaos, challenging her resolve throughout her journey.
As Lightning's journey comes to a close, she becomes hellbent on saving everyone, even against Lumina's wishes. So, she releases Serah's heart from her body, anticipating the final act. An act where Lightning confronts her true self within the chaos. When she accepts her vulnerability, Lumina returns to Lightning, making her a complete person once more. Whilst the world forgets Lightning, it seems they remember Lumina still. Some like Vanille more fondly, whilst others like Fang, more harshly.
Upon being summoned to Zephon, Claire's memories reset to when she was going by Lumina, where she mingled with the populace while her other half slept, even before meeting Fang and Vanille. As Lumina, her memories from the time Lightning was awakened and the final thirteen days before the world ended were gone. What she briefly recalls is scenes of her existence coming to an end. Though she can't recall why and now in Zephon, she feels that she's been given the chance to live anew and have all the fun she can muster. She begins her tyranny in Metaia, where she first awakens proper.
Years later, both halves of Claire Farron have merged into one. Claire's memories of the New World have returned and whilst she deals with an old nemesis on Zephon, faced with her true desires will she be forced to fight again?

NOTES FOR CONSIDERATION:: Although Claire Farron is a complete person once more, she came to Zephon through the lens of Lumina. Also history and sample sourced from my Lumina profile here ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE::
This really was a new frontier, wasn't it? Lumina had come upon a new world. It looked like a town with many unfamiliar faces."I guess this could be interesting." she mused to herself aloud. High above ground level, Lumina placed her right hand perpendicular to her forehead, before leaning forward to peer across the town square. There were so many citizens, free from the influence of gods but not from darkness. As they went about their business below, they were so peaceful. So serene, "So...boring! I need to shake this place up a bit."
Lumina decided in order to have some fun, her first order of business was to visit a vendor. This one was selling sea salt ice cream but received no customers thus far. "Business going slow today?" she pried after approaching his stall casually. He explained that he'd been sick for a few days and thus hadn't shown up for work. Now he was back but nobody was paying him any mind. Lumina placed a hand to her cheek, eyes briefly gazing upward in thought."You know...if you give me a bar, I could help you get customers~?" he seemed uncertain and Lumina soon moved her hand away from her cheek before wagging her right index finger.
"You mustn't doubt, it's easy...watch!"
As the vendor raised a brow, Lumina swiftly turned around. She stretched her arms wide before projecting her voice. "Ice Cream, Ice Cream. Get your Ice Cream right here~! Better act quickly, limited supply and all." that certainly caught people's attention. Starting with a young boy who was clinging to his Mother's arm. He was pointing to the stall and Lumina too. Children were so magical, seeing one child going for ice cream prompted another, then another and before the proprietor knew it, a crowd was forming.
Giggling, Lumina disappeared before reappearing just as quick behind the stall with a hand out expectedly. Flabbergasted, the vendor gave her one bar of sea salt ice cream and thus she was gone with ice cream in tow. What a nice act huh? Except, the proprietor didn't have enough supply for all the attention he was getting. That meant there'd be a lot of disappointed kids... "Aww poor things, well there's always tomorrow right~?" she'd say to herself as she appeared atop a building overlooking the square. Things were about to get much more lively in town, she'd make sure of it.
