"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
At first Lumina merely nodded in response to Zell, before resuming work. Believing things to be fine and relishing the quiet company. After all, just his presence close by was enough to put her at ease. Why, Zell could have been enjoying himself on the bridge with Serah and the others and Lumina would still be happy. That was far more preferable to being far away, not knowing where he was or if he was safe.
By chance then, as she crossed out a budget and momentarily glanced to Zell. Lumina noticed Zell had risen from his chair and was pacing about. If Zell were merely bored, his body language would have shown it. This wasn't boredom, he looked rather... nervous. This caused Lumina to raise her left brow before going into some thought during the brief silence. Zell hadn't responded to her offer about recreating his room. Complete with a new punching bag! Instead she watched him pace while tilting her head for a bit. When he broke the silence, Lumina was more confused. It's true she hadn't really told Zell what she did. Not because she wanted to hide it from Zell, there was just other topics to discuss.
Gasping in realization, Lumina sat back for a moment. "Oh, how rude of me~ Well... Come here, I'll show you." she held up her clipboard, using it to gesture Zell to come on over. Using her pen she went from the top as she prepared to explain the nature of her business. "I've been trading~ I've basically got a small guild now. This started after I sold some precious goods for a lot of gil~ Then I used that money to buy local goods from Provo and Torensten. Radiance is basically heading to Torensten to restock on the local fruit, fish, magical charms and spell components. Of course, we're bringing goods from Provo and Sonora to sell too~" Lumina began, playfully dangling her feet though not too much, less she accidentally harm Zell if he got closer.
"The goods from Provo itself are from agriculture, those don't sell for nearly as much." Lumina tapped the column showcasing goods like grain and such. "It's my ties to Sonora's minerals, delivered directly instead of having them come to Provo, that keeps business afloat~" Lumina continued, pointing to the next column of goods on the balance sheet.
"If I wasn't doing this, then we wouldn't have the resources needed to fly around Zephon. My hope is... that I can find Snow, as well as the others." she gave a warm smile before looking to Zell. "Of course, business isn't really why we're going. I promised to bring Serah to Torensten, I know she's going to love it. Torensten's climate and being by the coast? It's just like our hometown. I would have actually settled in Torensten instead of Provo but... I was worried you wouldn't be able to find me if I did." blushing faintly, Lumina shook her head.
"Sometimes we encounter Sky Pirates, other times Thieves when moving away from the city and into the suburban territories. Your work is definitely cut out for you~" Lumina was joking at the end of that, for Zell didn't want to know what she did to Sky Pirates and their airships. Instead, she decided to take things in a different direction after the potential calm of her elaboration on business.
"Zell? I can't help but notice that you seem rather nervous and a bit... lost in thought? Is something wrong, you can tell me anything you know~ We're friends after all!" Lumina gently rested her clipboard in her lap while tucking the pen away, only to clap her hands together.
"So...talk to me~"

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
Lumina couldn't help but giggle in response to Zell. Clearly her mundane, monotonous tasks were so dull, that he couldn't keep his interest. That was perfectly fine, as she continued to work with a coy grin. Zell's company was enough to help her get through the work. Learning about his room was fun, causing a soft 'hmm' to escape Lumina's lips. "Well, if you'd like we could try and recreate your room back at my house?" she offered casually, in hopes that would help Zell feel more comfortable. On the other hand, it just sounded like something fun to do.
Noticing Zell become nervous, Lumina tilted her head, clearly perplexed by his fidgeting. Perhaps her question had made him uncomfortable? Remaining quiet, she'd listen to Zell's response. A soft gasp came forth when he confessed that all his friends more or less found someone. It certainly made her curious but she was happy that the group seemed very mature. Although like Zell, she did feel bad for Quistis, given it didn't take much to put gather an idea of the kind of person she was. It made her want to meet Quistis all the more, knowing first hand what it was like to be a big sister and make sacrifices.
This lead to her next question, which was arguably more important for Lumina. So much so that her expression had remained completely neutral while studying Zell. Lumina wasn't surprised that he was in a relationship, given his friends had found partners. What surprised her slightly, was his feelings about it. Being on missions often meant he didn't really forge much of a relationship. Which if one didn't put in the effort then it wouldn't work out, naturally.
"Oh, that's odd. For awhile I thought the reason you were so anxious to get home was because you might have a special someone waiting for you, just like Serah." Lumina admitted before giving another 'hmm'. "Actually, ever since I reunited with Serah and exchanged notes, I've begun to suspect that maybe our friends, yours and mines; may in fact be somewhere on Zephon also." Lumina admitted before continuing to elaborate, "You met Quistis already and my sisters are here, as well as one of our friends."
With that potential revelation, Lumina continued to work for a moment, letting a moment of silence come forth before speaking up. "Oh, I hope my inquiries didn't make you too uncomfortable. If so, I apologize... I'm not really... good at handling friendships." after all, her experience with them, was through Lightning up until now and while she remembered her days of finding Vanille and Fang. The fun she had pestering Fang while hugging Vanille. Lumina was uncertain if that really counted. Then again, here in Zephon she had her own experiences, whether it was with her crew, split into a Provo and Torensten team. Different business partners, who she had to make sure got paid (hence her current work), likely, Lumina was just being hard on herself.

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
Pondering about Sorceresses, she wondered what magic was like in Zell's world. A sense of excitement and awe was building up. On the other hand, it felt like it'd take a long, long time before she'd get to see Balamb for herself. Making every bit of information a tease. One thing she imagined was that being able to perform such, might be quite a feat. Especially to call someone a Sorceress. This made Lumina worried that her powers could frighten some people. In her world, she used her powers so laissez faire, that it was genuinely a part of her. On the other hand, he did imply there were good Sorceresses at least, so she didn't feel as anxious.
What truly put her at ease, was after he mentioned she'd fit in just fine. Lumina gave a faint smile before passively adding, "Well, that's a relief and it's nice that some of your friends are in relationships. Now I'm curious~" did Zell have other friends who were in relationships? His group sounded normal and she was almost eager to meet them. Not just because it represented something new but because she imagined Zell's friends were around his age. Being around young people was like a second chance to enjoy being a child, a chance to be her Mother's daughter. It was why, even with no Lightning to deceive, Lumina maintained her youthful disguise. There was also the fact that in her younger form, she was more disarming to those around her. That was great in the earlier days of being in Zephon.
These days, now that she was handling money, inventory, and other adult issues? It just invited being underestimated and that didn't sit well with her mostly. Sometimes, being underestimated was to her advantage of course. On the other hand, now that her sister was here, as well as her other self; she didn't want to let her mischief go too far into criminal territory. After all, she wasnt a villain by any stretch. Even her name, meant Brilliant Light.
Zell's reply to her teasing was nice. He was so straightforward, at times and it made her want to be nicer, sweeter even. On the other hand, if she started being too nice and sweet, Lumina reckoned he'd probably reject it. So, in response Lumina replied, "It was...a nice distraction." as was all the work she did, if she was honest. A distraction from worrying about him but she'd leave that unsaid. She slipped up once when he came back and arguably, once more during their stay at the Inn in Provo. Nothing good came from her sincere intentions!
While contemplating this, she'd been silent when Zell inadvertently invited her to see his room. It made her smile, even as she worked, only to look up when asked what she was doing. "Inventory along with budgeting, balance sheets... boring stuff~" a few audible marks were scribbled before she continued. "Why don't you distract me with something pleasant~? You did just invite me to see your room, once we get back. So, describe it for me. What should I look forward to seeing? I bet your bed isn't as big as mines~!" Lumina reckoned if being sweet and nice was off the table, she could enjoy teasing Zell at least.
"Also, are your other friends in a relationship?" Lumina inquired, seemingly out of the blue but she did mention being curious earlier. "It sounds like you might be left behind in that regard. Unless... you've been in a relationship before?"

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
Lumina couldn't help but pout, clearly showing a look of disapproval due to the title of 'Boss'. It was fine for the others that worked for her to call her such, complete with their own endearing spins. For Zell though, it was just way too formal! There was also the issue of forcing him. Lumina couldn't recall a time she so much as deigned to do so. Perhaps because she had no need to, especially when she could dangle proverbial carrots or bones instead. There was a look of relief when Zell admitted he was teasing, though it was short lived at the mention of friends. This was the second time that such a notion was disappointing to her. Except unlike last time, now Lumina knew why.
Trying not to let it affect her outwardly, she'd transported Zell and herself to just outside her cabin. His reaction to the successful teleportation was uplifting. Given how impressed he was, Lumina wanted to reveal to him more of her magic but he'd used a rather archaic term. "Sorceress?" she spoke up, looking contemplative for a moment. "Aren't those...bad? Like wicked witches?" Having been back and forth between Provo and Torensten; she'd been used to magic users calling themselves mages. Upon which further categorization could be had, depending on the type of magic a mage specialized in.
Setting aside thoughts on Sorcery for later, after giving her run down of Snow; Zell had commented about his own friends. Lumina was rather excited to hear more, staring at Zell with full attention as he proceeded. There was Seifer, who sounded like trouble. Honestly, he sounded like a more antagonistic Lightning, which caused her to smirk briefly. Then there was Irvine, Zell's explanation of him amused Lumina to no end. Complete with a look of mischief on her visage before she spoke up. "Sounds like a real lady killer, that Irvine. Should I be worried, Zell~?" playfully, Lumina batted her eyelashes.
Letting that thought linger, she'd turn around and open her cabin door. "I do wonder what your friends will think of you bringing me back with you." she admitted before gesturing for Zell to follow. The view inside her cabin was truly extraordinary, thanks to all the windows and the shape of the room. Twirling about, Lumina danced towards her chair and hopped onto it. Whilst Lumina was getting comfortable, Zell could see the cabin wasn't as eccentric as one would imagine. There was a blending of city-state cultures, with some Provo furnishing and Torensten furnishing respectively.
With clipboard in hand and pen removed from it's holster, Lumina proceeded to resume work, with a knowing grin. "So, jealous~?" she teased, clearly up to no good. That said, there were some places to sit, two chairs and a diner style table bolted down along the right side. The left side had her bed, which also seemed secured in place. Along with two swivel chairs that could be moved closer to her main Captain Owner's chair. Spinning about playfully in her chair as she worked, Lumina was excited to get Zell's thoughts.

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
"I know." Claire admitted with a knowing smile, before she closed her eyes. "That's a conversation you should have with Lightning." after all, stubborn as both of them were, the resistance and logic to her actions, was entirely Lightning. Of course, as she looked at her sister; she knew she couldn't fault Serah. It was why she regularly visited Snow, to check up on him, even if he didn't appreciate it. That knowledge would come in handy when Serah asked a question of her own.
"Everyone can be a bit selfish, I guess but I don't think what you're feeling is wrong, either. He sure wished and pined and dreamed of you being with him during those centuries. For both your sakes, it'd be nice to have you reunited. So that we can face this new... life, together, as a family." those words were a bit difficult for Claire but it's what she earnestly believed right now.
"Just like I wish I could speak with Lightning too, we're probably long overdue for a heart to heart." hopefully, before that time came, she'd get her own memories back, otherwise she'd remain at a disadvantage. Otherwise, in terms of guiding Serah, that was easy. She hadn't been living moment to moment with horrendous trials in this world. This time, she'd make sure their life was different. After all, she had months to prepare!
With that steady but growing confidence, she could face some of the many truths Serah was about to give. When it came to matters of the heart, Serah had always been true to herself. So, even if Claire felt embarrassed and perhaps a bit of shame in needing to rely on Serah in this way. Claire was quickly getting over it, because she was proud of Serah. She lived her life, true to herself, all the sacrifice was worth it. So she listened and observed, taking in Serah's words of experience.
At first, Serah's words were so deeply romantic, that Claire was certain she wasn't in love. For the sheer depth of the love she spoke of, Claire felt like she wasn't capable of such. That was how profound Serah's words were but as she continued, more relatable ideas came forth. Starting with the idea of seeing anywhere as home as long as you're with the person you love. Claire's cheeks felt warm immediately because it resonated, deeply. Claire wasn't in a hurry to get home after all, there wasn't much there for her. Except to hopefully give Lightning Serah's soul back, assuming she wasn't being manipulated by God.
While on Zephon, things felt so fresh and exciting. Claire was never bored here, there was just too much to do! All she needed was someone by her side to explore it. Zell, had been the person she chose for that and while her intentions were furthest from romantic, yet alone pure. His desire to go home, she truly wanted to help him with that. So that he wasn't alone and feeling... stranded. Standing by Zell was viewed as easy and it was nice to be able to take care of someone physically present. It made the task of keeping Serah safe easier to manage. All while traveling from Sonora, camping out.
Coming to the last part Serah said, she began to recollect her feelings in those months of separation. Worrying about someone wasn't love, surely. That's all that was on her mind and it did wear her down a bit. In that way, she could sympathize with Snow of all people. After a taste of that medicine, she might not tease him... for a little while, at least if he did magically show up. Though, wasn't it natural to worry so much about a friend. Especially one you wanted to help and take care of... Wait, was it natural for her to take care of a friend the way she wanted to take care of Zell?
Claire scrunched her eyebrows together, even as her cheeks got redder. Deep in consideration, it felt like her brain was going to overheat before something clicked. It was her feelings when Zell did return, like a lost puppy. Even now, she could recollect her immediate thoughts. She was never going to let him go again. Wasn't that why she hugged his arm...so...affectionately... Claire paused, eyes widening slowly with disbelief. Something more important had come to mind, her feeling of disappointment when Zell immediately denied that she was his girlfriend. At the time, she couldn't figure out why she felt that way. If Claire were to put any title on their relationship; it was caretaker, guardian angel, benefactor, titles like that. Certainly a bit more intimate than friends even if it was platonic. After all, everyone had friends... well, except for herself. No, she couldn't say that, she did have friends now, a lot of them in fact. However, if she sincerely weighed her attachment, it wasn't the same as it was with Zell...
She blinked, nearly missing the idea of having girl talk. A brief memory of offers in the past, being rejected. Another reminder she could do those things now. So she nodded, a bit too enthusiastically, "Yes! I'd really like that, sis. Sorry if I'm a bit distracted..." Claire could put aside these revelations for just a bit. When Serah spoke about the Gods, their fate within this world. Claire decided to hug Serah and tightly at that. "It's going to be okay, the gods haven't exactly made any moves yet." she admitted but left out her own thoughts, "They might not have all their pawns summoned."
Perhaps that was for the best too, given Serah's declaration. It allowed her to resume thinking about her revelations. Claire had figured her actions and any feelings she had, were limited to the fragments Lightning locked away. Without a complete heart, she should be incomplete and so she seldom operated with long term plans. How quickly things had changed, without her realizing it.
"I believe you're right then, Serah. About me having a heart and soul, as well as... my feelings." at which point she looked away from Serah. "I don't know what to do... Maybe I should just... stay quiet about it...?" after all, she'd already felt like she imposed a lot on Zell as of late. He didn't have to take her to his homeworld. That was a really sweet thing to do, there was no need to ruin their friendship. What did she know about love anyway? Nothing, that's what and she didn't really know much about living for herself either.

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
Claire felt a lot lighter now, as if this mere confession, this choice to be different; was like walking a new road. One in which she realized she would need the help of Serah for and relatively quickly. Coming in right as she made her observation concerning Snow and Zell, compared to their Father. "S-sorry, I didn't mean it to be awkward, it was just passing thoughts..." in essence, her stream of consciousness flowed out of her mouth, while she recollected moments of contrast between Lightning, Serah's Guardian and Claire. "I'm...also sorry about the...hating thing. More so, I'm annoyed by it because it was... selfish." which was as much confession on this issue as Serah was ever going to get. Since Claire could not separate herself in this instance because she loved her sister and wanted to be the only one who could protect her. Under the logic behind those thoughts, Serah would only be able to date someone hand approved by herself. It struck her as very possessive and as the topic transitioned to love, she found herself wondering if she was possessive of Zell too.
While she wondered this, Serah just had to bring up the hypocrisy of her feelings. Assuming it was love, in which Claire had no idea, if she was being honest with herself. Then part of her felt even worse, a mix of embarrassment and pride. In that way, maybe she wasn't entirely different from her other self. Even if she was now red in the face, at least she knew she could own up to this. Starting by confronting her thoughts.
"Y-you seem to be pretty sure about this but... I don't really know about that kind of love. I mean, how does someone know they're in love, anyway?" this was her first of many honest and vulnerable questions for Serah. That her younger sister was an expert in this, while she was no different to a school girl, when would the roller coaster of embarrassment end!? "Like...do you feel possessive of Snow sometimes and does that mean you're clingy?" these were tough thoughts to consider for Claire.
After all, she did initially feel some type of possessiveness for Zell. However it was a bit mean spirited perhaps? Certainly devious but she could blame that on feeling lonely and wanting to enjoy some company for awhile. That she figured she'd eventually get bored and moved on, was part of being her chaotic self. Instead, she didn't get bored and felt that familiar, long standing desire to help someone. Sure, that desire to help could go too far at times and in the case of Claire, as Lumina; her help tended to backfire.
While she reflected on that, there was the matter of Lightning and herself, a fused entity. She wondered if Lightning or Light as Hope and Serah preferred to call her, also felt lighter. Sure, there was the matter of her recovery but judging by what Serah admitted; Claire felt like their merger wasn't so bad. "In the end, even if we might be different, our origin is the same. Besides, you're only just getting these glimpses now. She's just been hiding me very well~ There's some stories I want to tell you in time." she had a mischievous smile, one that was oh so cheeky, just shy of soft giggles.
"You're right about the Gods, Serah but now I'm wondering why? The Old Gods of Zephon, I've heard a bit about them, as I started my time in this world around the Metaia Temple." Claire stated her musings before cupping her chin. One mystery after the other but Serah did bring up a good point. "To be honest, I hadn't really tried to talk like we used to. It was enough to believe you're here and that I should make sure we're safe. While having some fun of my own, of course~" though she paused, moving her hand to cradle her right cheek instead.
"If I exist with my own form independently while retaining my connection to chaos...I wonder. Does that mean I have my own heart and soul too...?" that line of thought would explain her actions far more than she thought.

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
Lumina paused, clearly looking surprised by Zell's admittance. For a moment, she looked into Zell's eyes and there was no doubt he was serious. More so, Lumina was surprised that he was so forthcoming with that desire. If she thought about things, Zell had changed the dynamics of their relationship a lot. Harmonizing one could say or at the very least, equalizing commitments.
Clearing her throat, Lumina spoke up, "You...want to go to Serah's wedding, w-with me?" she stressed the last part. Only to shyly look away, so she could focus her mind. "Wait, we're friends, why wouldn't he? He's also friends with Serah." there was no use overthinking this. Looking towards Zell, she smiled before offering her right hand. "I haven't practiced teleporting with someone else yet. Will you accompany me to my cabin, Mr. Bodyguard~?"
Perhaps this answered the first mystery, Lumina had only been using her teleportation for herself so far. Along with objects she brought with her of course. Taking this next step might truly push her powers, even if the distance was short. For Lumina's body began to radiate light, as well as the wispy shadows of chaos. If Zell took her hand, he'd be engulfed in Lumina's light, in order to protect him from the chaos that surrounded her. In the time it took to blink, they were gone, now upon the floor above the hallway to the bridge. Being just outside the door to Lumina's cabin, the light and chaos would subside.
"It works...well, at least short distances." Lumina noted aloud before sighing in relief. "Well then, since you're serious about this, I guess I should tell you about Snow." There was a lot to tell, so using her illusions, she allowed for a projection of several different memories to show the many facets of Snow as a person. "Snow can be a good leader, he has the responsibility for it. His efforts have helped people survive while our world was crumbling. Unfortunately, as far as my memories go, he's a heart broken man. I can imagine having Serah back, he likely bounced back to his old self. I can't imagine him being as irresponsible as he used to be given what he's been through." Lumina explained.
"As for the rest of Snow's misfits, you should probably ask Serah about them." not because she didn't know them and have means to form an opinion. It would just be a biased opinion that sounded muddled due to Serah and Lightning's memories of them. Even calling them misfits was probably influenced by Lightning, just a tad. There were other things on her mind to contemplate too. Namely how she was able to use her powers while she was here and that it didn't seem to negatively influence Zephon like it would back in Nova Chrysalia.

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
Lumina couldn't help but smile, her eyes softened as she looked at Zell, instead of her clipboard. "My Knight in shining armour~" she teased, though that title was made up by Serah. Zell's extra efforts weren't proving Serah's assumptions wrong admittedly. After all, Lumina was relatively safe, doing work out here. So then, Zell wanting to work too, was that part of not taking handouts? She raised a brow for just a moment before moving to stand beside him. Her eyes then returned to her clipboard as she began to mark up certain items with her pen.
Much to her surprise, it seemed like Zell had something specific on his mind. Thus, his 'job' was an excuse to talk with her. What a twist~! The question he asked was a fair one. So she took a moment to think it over while working, before her pen stopped. Lumina's eyes closed as she admitted her thoughts. "There are people I will miss, of course. Besides my sisters, I might add." she began before inhaling deeply and opening her eyes to look to Zell. "Outside of my sisters... People won't miss me." this was likely a bombshell but given what she'd learned from Serah a couple days ago, it was a hard pill to swallow.
"In my world, I no longer exist as a separate entity from Lightning. It's thanks to my power and being a vessel for Serah's heart and soul, that I'm here as 'Lumina'. My world, doesn't need two Claire Farrons." this revelation added whole new meaning to why she stressed enjoying their time in Zephon. Why she was so... clingy and why her feelings didn't align with what was normal. In essence, Lumina's lease on life was renewed. Once the Gods were finished with them, there was a distinct possibility that her 'fun' would end.
Not that Lumina would go along with their plans. Serah had shown her a different way, forever altering her destiny. Now she'd stay that course! On the other hand, his question did get her thinking about something. "Were you thinking that maybe you should come to my world instead, meet my friends~?" she mused but then considered, were they even her friends? Wasn't it better to call them Lightning and Serah's friends, more so? Fang wasn't fond of her mischievous ways after all and Snow saw her as the devil...
"Serah wants me to be around for her wedding. So, you might get your chance. I just have to master my powers while we're here. I can already teleport all over Zephon, provided I've been there and have a rudimentary knowledge of the landscape. I'm sure I can traverse worlds too." in other words, with enough time, assuming divine intervention wasn't the reason they were kept in Zephon, she could get Zell home, with her power.

"Radiance"
"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
Radiance was quite the airship, even if one disregarded Lumina's boasts. Designed in the model of Torensten airships, of some luxury and storage capability. Radiance had several viewing panes in which one could see outside and scarcely glimpse inside of a glass like structure. This was primarily for stuff around the front side of the hull. Whilst the back concealed its cargo for discretion among other things. Along the front there were several public living spaces, as well as private rooms. Lumina's own cabin was further up and towards the front. Sporting a special adjustable chair that allowed her to get quite the view (though she made sure to remind Zell that it wasn't a booster seat).
In terms of the exterior hull, the colouring blended a pearlescent and opalescent gradient, blending along the middle roughly. Radiance certainly wasn't as large as other transporter class ships. It was intentionally a bit smaller to be more agile, in case of sky pirates and other dangers. Most importantly, Radiance didn't require too much maintenance for the small group who handled basic operation from Provo to Torensten and back. Guiding Zell and Serah around as part of the grand tour, Lumina looked very different today. Casual was a term but it wasn't new to the crew. The reason she was dressed down, as opposed to wearing some high culture outfit; was said clothes did not seem to agree with the altitudes. As well as comfort day to day on their route. So instead, Lumina was dressed plainly in a short sleeved white t-shirt with black jeans shorts, pink thigh highs and black flats. There was one unusual piece, a set of glasses that seemed to be an accessory predominantly.
Once the grand tour was complete, there was still plenty to see and do. The crew were happy to take Serah to the main deck where the ship was piloted. That left Zell, who Lumina initially thought would go tag along with Serah to have fun. Lumina herself had a clipboard in hand with a pen and was begrudgingly going over the numbers. Serah had learned this previously but Lumina's crew already knew and were used to her real appearance when seeing her on the ship. What they hadn't been used to, was the idea of their boss needing a bodyguard. So from time to time, some has taken the liberty to see this man for themselves, from a distance.
"Zell?" she called out, her real voice wasn't so high and sweet. Well, there were times of reminiscence but as she said long ago to the Inn Keeper, she was older than she looked. "Aren't you going to join the others and have fun?" she asked before looking down to her clipboard. "This is...going to take awhile." certainly wasn't as fun as fighting zombies and trekking across Zephon. At least it was safe, mostly.

"Liberation of Fate"
"Whether it's Gods or Fate, I'll rebel against them all. We should determine our fate with our own hands..."
It was quite a relief to explain her feelings, as far as she'd reflected on them, to Zell finally. Even in her recollection, she hadn't realized there must have been more to her reaction. After all, wasn't it natural to worry about a friend making a similar mistake that you made? In her mind at least, it absolutely was and there was nothing else to it~!
After Zell accepted her explanation and in turn, she got him to promise not to make the mistakes she worried about some months back. Playful banter began regarding Zell protecting her. In truth, she didn't think she needed protection really. Rather, more protection, given she could summon Monsters. However, thinking about it, it wasn't always advantageous to call forth one of the children of chaos. Monsters tended to cause commotion after all. Zell then offered the kind of protection that was practical. Especially given he was an elite mercenary. That genuinely made her smile with amusement. It certainly explained his skill after all.
The playful banter took an interesting turn when Zell mentioned he didn't take hand outs. Initially, Lumina was a bit perplexed, tilting her head as she looked to Zell. "He wants me to...pay him?" naturally, she wondered why. She'd been happy to just give him money and take care of him, free of charge. That was when she recollected Zell initially turning down her offer of taking care of him. In hindsight, she couldn't blame him for wanting to contribute and be independent. She imagined Serah would want to help her out too to contribute. That made her giggle before seeing Zell offer to shake on this.
"Deal. From now on, you'll be my bodyguard. That does sound nicer than being the Muscle in my underground activities...eheh." This change in their dynamics made Lumina wonder where things were going from now on. All the same she shook his hand before adding, "Come on, let's head to my place, you can pick out your new room, Bodyguard~"
