The Dragonblades
It was funny, Caius had teleported before to dodge Serah's attack. But the pink-haired maiden had only seen him vanish for a split second, seeming to phase through her, to where it would have been difficult to tell that he had done so. But Caius groaned as he rolled over to check on Vordun. The dragon was a little banged up, but seemed to be okay. Truthfully, Caius had managed to erect a barrier at the last second when the Behemoth had attacked, saving him from being sliced to ribbons by its claws. But it couldn't protect him from everything and between that and the long fall, he was pretty battered. Still, Vordun was okay and Caius could still fight. That was all that mattered in that moment.
He would look up in time to see Serah make her move. Her companion would block the Behemoth's path as the beast tried to plow through it to get to Caius and Vordun. It was holding out but he could tell it wouldn't hold for long. Caius would lean on Vordun as he tried to get to his feet, before beginning to help Vordun up as well. The dragon wasn't wounded, he made sure to check again, which was good. But it was Serah who continued to take his attention as she would create a massive arrow of light that she would then fire into the sky. Well, that or she had missed the beast by a mile.
Rocket was taken down and returned to its crystal, but it had held out long enough for many giant arrows to suddenly begin pelting down upon it. Caius' jaw dropped at the sight, taken by the power that his newfound compatriot truly held. It did a great deal of damage to the beast, but it would manage to barely hold on and as it began to recover, would barrel towards Serah in a rage.
That was when Caius acted.
Point Warping at breakneck speeds, Caius had cleared the distance between himself and the Behemoth almost instantly, with Vordun just a little ways behind. Hanging on the Behemoth's horns, Caius would begin slashing with everything he had in rapid succession. His daggers would be summoned and woven to and fro with magic to slash at the beast as well, as though the beast were being attacked by three different people from three different directions.
Caius knew this would drain his magic fast, but he had to end this here. Serah was drained and Caius was pretty banged up himself. And he needed to finish this before the beast could recover. In a rage, the Behemoth would launch a fiery breath at Caius, but he would Phase through the fires and and hold out a hand.
"FIRAGA!"
Knowing that fire-breathing creatures had fire glands, Caius would launch the Firaga straight into the beast's mouth, causing the flame glands to explode and dealing damage in turn as it left the beast stunned for a few moments. Vordun would catch up as Caius began his assault again, this time with the duo warping in tandem between different parts of the beast's body to take it out at different limbs to weaken it further and prepare for the final blow. Caius had funneled more of his magic into improving the power of his warping blows, and each blow came with incredible speed and velocity as he moved with a speed that could barely be seen by onlookers. One could only tell he had been there by the now-red sparks that trailed to show where he had been.
The beast would fall to its back legs, and Caius knew he had to end it here. Landing on Vordun's back, he would hold out his gunblade.
"Out of magic... Gotta make this count."
His sword would be engulfed in flames as he would leap off Vordun's back. The dragon would launch one more Fira-sized fireball just under Caius, hitting the beast in the face and opening it up for Caius to bring his sword down upon its head.
The beast loosed one final roaring cry and went down. Caius would leap off as Vordun would catch him in the air. Vordun would have the instincts to move to Serah, but as soon as Caius hopped off, his magic would cut off and his weapons would disappear.
"Ah, god..." Caius managed out through haggard breaths as he leaned on Vordun for support. "You alright, Serah?"
She could still fight, this was true, but so soon her attack her movements were slowed, more sluggish. And a beast cornered was more dangerous than anything. It barreled towards her and she flinched, thoughts ran through her. Had she gotten the timing wrong? Lighting wouldn't have. Would it have been better to do it sooner, or later? From where she was, or should she have moved to his back? Should she have tried a combined assault with Caius?
Lighting wouldn't have made that mistake, or wouldn't have questioned it. She would keep moving forward, keep pushing to the end. Until the threat was gone and everyone was safe
Kind of like what Caius was doing now.
Yes it was a dazzling sight to behold for her, the way he and his partner pushed back against the beast, blades surged with magic as they tore at the creature held back by a Dragon’s strength. She could only watch as things continued, a combative dance one could say. Of Caius and his partner pushing the beast back, then cutting it down. As painful flames surged within it. As they teleported around it. Serah was every bit impressed by Caius and his dragonic ally as they tore into the. As clear as it was that he was burning through his resources… so to was it clear that the Behemoth was on its last legs, the pinkette smiled. So as a weakened Caius landed on his dragon’s back, the also weakened Serrah would call out a cheer to help spur him on.
”Take it down!”
And so he did, with one last coordinated strike the beast went down, finally. The pair came down then as exhausted as he was, however he asked first how she was doing, it made her smile, her own exhaustion showing.
”Shouldn't I be asking you that Mr overachiever? Jeez… those things are just as rough here as they were back home”
She picked up Rocket’s crystal, placing it safely in her pocket, noting to thank it later along with the other for all they had done for her here. She then sat against a smooth, only slightly charred stump and chuckled.
”You were so fast.. Oh, I’m fine by the way, just winded, that spell takes a bit out of me is all. Though… really, I can see why you lead a mercenary group like you do now,no mistaking that aura, even less so in combat!”
She frowned, taking note once more of Caius’ condition.
”If you both need it though… I’m sure i can work out some healing magic to ease things for you both”
That was Serah, ever thinking of others before herself, to her Caius was in far worst condition, along with his partner.

The Dragonblades
It was over, it was done and Caius could go take a nap somewhere after expending so much energy on using his magic like that. Serah called him an overachiever and he stared at her a moment with a quirked brow. “Says the one who nearly took it out by herself with that last shot” he teased in turn. At the least she seemed to be alright, just winded as he was. The mercenary slowly nodded his head, taking what moments he could to catch his breath.
“I see your experiences you mentioned have served you well” he brought up then. She asked if they needed healing. “I’ll be fine. I’d check him though” Caius spoke up, wanting to prioritize Vordun. He would normally heal Vordun himself, but Caius was out of magic and Serah was likely a better healer than he was. A behemoth of a spellcaster and a great healer, where had he seen that before? These women he met in this world were always terrifying spellcasters, weren’t they? Celes, Yuna, now Serah.
Both Caius and Vordun were a bit banged up, but otherwise seemed fine. Vordun was in better shape than Caius, but Caius was insistent on focusing on Vordun, like a parent would with a child.
“You know, with your combat prowess and your overall attitude, I think you’d make a good fit for the Dragonblades” Caius brought up as he got up and began to examine the behemoth, identifying parts he could use. “Perhaps something to discuss over a victory dinner, if you’re free later? Vordun needs to be cleaned up after all that” Caius suggested, though Vordun would grumpily blow a bit of fire at the mercenary upon the suggestion that he might need a bath.
“I’m going to skin this while I’m here too. It has parts I can use or sell, and behemoth meat is good as well. And the more I get rid of here, the less cleanup the guards have to later.”

I'm not an army of one
Serah gave a ‘hmph!’ at Caius’ implication, crossing her arms. He was underestimating his own abilities clearly, if he thought she did THAT much. She had tried her gambit of course, she wouldn't deny it did damage, but the beast was still charging thereafter! It was clear therefore, that Caius had been the MVP here, No doubt in her mind in fact! He and his partner had sacked the creature, With some minor aid from her of course!
”I fired some arrows and it kept charging! You and him…”
She gave gentle smile the dragon’s way, nodding her head.
”Deserve the credit here, I mean did you see yourself? You were like.. ZOOM, and then, ZAM! And lot of WHOOSH to! All over the place, I could never do something like that, it’s amazing, really”
She lopped on the praise, because she really did feel Caius deserved it. Behemoths were no casual foe, it was worth celebrating when you beat one due to just how tough they were. This was even more true of the toughest of them, able to cause destruction like what this one had. Destruction that they, thankfully were able to lessen. Serah herself took a breath as she tried to relax, glad she had been able to help her friend regardless. Between them both they were able to ensure people could get away, and fell the nasty beast.
”I’m not sure what’s more fear-inducing fighting them, or trying to sneak past the things in the dark”
Now THAT had been a frightful ordeal! But one she and Noel managed none the less. That said, she was not in any hurry to do it again, Whether she could handle the accompanying fight or not. She had to smile as Caius gave his own compliments however. He was right, she had learned a lot on her journey. As hard as it was… as painful as it was. She wouldn't want to undo the things she had been through. The scars of the past after all, had led to the happy future she had found herself in. And… yes, even where she was now, With her sisters carving out their life in this world.
”Yeah… I’ve learned a lot from my sisters… and all of my friends. I don’t know where I'd be without them!”
Caius refused her aide for himself, Under normal circumstances she’d have insisted upon it but… he cared for his partner, that was likely the driving force. So she’d do as he asked, but she’d be keeping a close eye on him as well to ensure he really would be fine. That wouldn't stop her however, from looking the dragon’s way with a grin, quip at the ready.
”Stubborn, isn’t he?”
She giggled, before gently moving towards Vordun, gently as well, she didn’t know what the dragon did and didn't understand. It was clearly smart but… there was no need causing undue stress was there? So approaching slowly, once he did know as such she would begin working her magic.
”Not enough for a huge spell.. Thankfully not needed here… I should have just the thing to patch this up.. Stay still for me ok? This should only feel a little weird~”
Switching to Medic Abilities, Serah would weave her Cura Spell, focusing it on Vordun’s gained wounds as she walked around him, ensuring she didn’t miss anything, the magic of course would have worked through him regardless, but Serah was the type that wanted to make sure for herself that everything healed up fine, just like it was supposed to. Once it had she gave a deep breath of her own, Stepping back she then gave a light smile back a the dragon.
”There, all better”
Vordun was now healed, know what that meant? Serah did. Still facing the dragon she gained a knowing smile she lightly poked her head towards Caius, as if saying ‘him to right?’ Whether it was acknowledged or not Serah still faced Caius. The familiar tenge of light once more came to Serah’s hands as she smiled teasingly at Caius.
”Stubborn students really should just accept the teachers help you know~”
Then without another word Serah would begin to weave her magic once more, more tiring this time as she really was now exhausting her energy now between this and the arrows earlier. As she looked the man over he made a surprising statement, at least to her. Serah, despite her abilities didn’t consider herself a warrior, or a mercenary. She’d of course do what she needed to do, but she generally was not outside that. On the other hand she absolutely loved adventure, learning and seeing knew things. Something she hadn’t been able to allow herself to focus on since coming here. Of course she also liked helping people. She chuckled, playfully raising her eyebrow.
”Additude? You’d want someone in the Dragonblades whose first words were set on trying to strike you down in for her sister?”
Despite this, between Caius’ thoughts on the matter and the discussion she had already had with her sister, she couldn't help but find it appealing…
”I can make time, I think… Of course my sisters and job come first but… if thats ok… it sounds rather fun… we should definitely talk about it”
She chuckled at the dragon’s antics in the between, noting when Caius decided to skin the behemoth. That made sense, she was no expert of course but her time with Noel had taught her that there was value in those things, him and the hunting tribe they had run into. Serah took her own seat, letting Caius go about his business. She’d have offered to help but… well, she both wasn’t into skinning things, and wasn’t an expert in it as Noel, and presumably Caius were.
”That makes sense… No sense in letting it go to waste ether right? If you can use it for better. Well this has been… an exciting day hasn’t it? I was expecting to go home to Claire and Lumina, and whatever chaos my little sister might be causing but… I’m glad I could help, that we could help people”

The Dragonblades
Vordun didn't stop her as she healed him, seeming to understand that Caius had ordered it. The dragon did sniff her hands though, and then her head, before lopping her with affection after the spell was done. The dragon definitely knew that she had helped it, at least. Though while Caius had begun working on skinning the behemoth, he rolled his eyes when he felt Serah's healing spell hit. If he hadn't expected it, perhaps he would have attacked. The spell from Kuja back when they were fighting the Lich had made him very touchy about having spells cast on him without his permission and without any warning. But with Serah, he had full knowledge she was going to do it anyway despite his remarks to save it for Vordun. It was just the kind of person that she was.
Though after a few seconds, he would stop and grab both of her hands as he rose to his feet. "Stop, that's enough. You're exhausted. You've done enough" he remarked bluntly in what was not a request, but something he was telling her to do as he looked her dead in the eyes to signify this. He didn't give anyone orders very often, not even his own men under the Dragonblades banner. But this was too urgent to ignore. Though after a moment, he sighed. There was no point in getting pushy with her. He knew that. "Please?" he spoke softly, then, his grip tightening just a smidge. "I don't want you collapsing on my account. I can tell you're pushing it. You've done enough, please, I can get back fine and handle any other bruising once my magic has replenished. I promise."
With that, he let her go and returned to looking for spots he could cut through on the behemoth as Serah asked about his previous offer.
"If you can be professional on assignment, then yes. I think I can trust you to do well. You have strong offensive and healing magic, skills that not many of us possess. And your heart is in the right place. I think you would fit in just fine" Caius responded then, nodding his head as she said she figured she could make time. He didn't mind that her job and her sister came first. He had expected that. He wasn't really expecting her to devote her full attention and time to it when she had other priorities. But having her around when they needed help would be a good thing for them.
"Thank you for helping with the behemoth, by the way" Caius brought up. "You helped prevent casualties and I'm sure everyone here appreciates that. Don't wait up for me, I'll come pick you up at Lumina's abode when I've finished here and... Suitably cleaned up."

I'm not an army of one
Serah giggled as the dragon sniffed her and gave its affection to her. She enjoyed it. It seemed the dragon could be playful, or at least appreciated getting aide. Caius had clearly raised the dragon well, she could tell. She still regretted how she treated the man when she had assumed what his identity was but… he seemed to be past it, to the point of even inviting her into her group. She was happy to help of course, so long as it didn’t interfere with her priorities regarding her sisters. When it came to Caius he wasn’t as forthcoming when it came to accepting Serah’s magic, for long anyway. A glare to rival Lighting’s was given to her as he grabbed her hand to stop her, causing Serah to frown as she shook her head. He insisted she had done enough, that was exhausted. Well, maybe a little… just a bit… but she wanted to help. Caius to her had expanded more and, thus she wanted to use what she had left to help him recover.
The truth was that she likely would have tried even if she saw that the other way, it was just the kind of woman she was. She gave a smile, ready to insist this to him, that she was perfectly fine!
”No really Caius I’m fine, really I can do plenty more just sit back and let me..”
She frowned once more, a bit of a pout on her face as he gave a soft ‘please’ Serah had to relent with that. More so with his continued concern about her. She gave a sigh, moving her hand from him and crossing them over her chest. She wanted to help but… he was right. She had given mostall of what she could give energy wise right now. She still wanted to help but… she’d stop, she needed to of course… she’d have pushed herself, but Caius clearly wasn’t going to let that happen. The thought caused a smile to cross her face, a light one at the people that reminded her of. Caius was a kind man, that she knew for sure.
”Ok Caius… i’ll stop, but.. You better make sure you do! I’ll come straight up into the guild and make you if you don’t, I promise~”
She giggled, well, she did but there was a certain degree of seriousness to that laugh and her expression. She was being playful, yes but.. There was also a certain feeling perhaps of ‘she'd absolutely do that wouldn't she?’ That said their conversation continued to the subject of her helping that group. He seemed confident she could help, so… she would, yes. Besides maybe this would help with some of that getting out like her older(?) sister kept saying she should. Serah grinned.
”Of course I can! Wish I could say ‘have you seen my little sis’ but… its more like I got it from her before, well… future her… wow, I know what's going on and it's still confusing haha! Point is, of course I will Caius. I may not be able to devote all my time… but when I’m helping I guarantee you’ll have my all! Still have to repay you for all you’ve helped Claire to”
When thanked for her help Serah smiled lightly, It was the right thing to do to her. She saw the destruction untapped creatures like that could cause, the pain it could bring to anyway when something just threw it around like that… She didn’t want people to go through that, in any age, in any place.
”If I can stop people from having to hurt.. Whether it’s on the inside or the outside, I’m going to. It’s as simple as that you know? People deserve to live happy lives, I don’t want them to worry if today was their last day. Besides, maybe this will get me more popular back in the school huh? Maybe I’ll finally shake their nickname haha!”
Serah nodded as Caius said she should go back ahead of him while he handled skinning the beast. She was still unsure how one could sit there and stare at a monster as you skinned it. She had nothing against if of course, more so with this being a creature that threatened people's livelihoods. But wasn’t it well… yuck? Yucky? Well, maybe it was a boy thing?
……..No, Fang would probably do this to, while she was pretty certain you couldn't get Hope anywhere near it. sigh… well it would all go to good use, that was what mattered!
”Right, take care of yourself Caius. I’ll be there when you need me”
Serah began walking off, back to her home for real this time. She had no intention of using Bennu for it, her chocobo friend had done plenty already. It would take her a bit longer to get home sure but well, for that she could only hpe and trust in her sister not to turn the town upside down in her short absence!
Still, she stopped a little ways off from her walking, still within hearing distance for Caius and grinned playfully. Well there was one thing more.
”Maybe my little sister is right though, you definitely deserve to have someone in your life and in your heart Caius, I might have to help her with that~”
Oh no…
Well that was a teasing tone so Serah was joking.
Right…?
And there she went off in the distance.
Spoiler Alert, there was a ninety percent chance Claire had,in fact, done something in her absence~

The Dragonblades
“I have no intention of continuing my day in this condition if I don’t have to, don’t worry about that” Caius tried his best to comfort her. It wasn’t practical to stay all bruised up if he could help it. But his magic needed to recover first.
It sounded like she was interested in the offer, and had good reason for doing so. She was joining for exactly the reason he would have wanted anyone to, and he was glad for it. Well, mostly good reasons. He wasn’t sure about wanting to improve her rep with her students. But she would fit in just fine, he was sure. Probably, anyway.
Caius didn’t seem very concerned about how gross his task was. This was normal to him. Unsanitary, but necessary. He had learned to hold his breath here and there a long time ago.
Caius nodded his head in goodbye, before focusing on his work. But from the corner of his hearing, Caius could hear Serah suddenly calling out to him. Stabbing the knife past the hard scale and leaving it there a moment, Caius turned his head to stare at her as he started to register what she said. The mercenary rolled his eyes and scoffed at that. Great. Another one. Either Claire had rubbed off on her, or he had Serah to blame for Claire’s shenanigans, he would wager. But if she wanted to play games? Fine. He could play.
“If it means that much to you, maybe you should just fill the position yourself!” Caius called back without shame before returning to skinning the beast without missing a beat. He was teasing, of course he was. She had a fiance and Caius was not that forward. But it would probably silence her for the time being. Checkmate, one point for Caius. Probably.
It wasn’t long after that Caius would return to Lumina’s abode, remembering it from his visit to the unofficial Faron sister before. Now out of his armor and into a nice shirt, Caius took a breath as he knocked on the door. Quietly preparing for any antics that he might encounter considering the home’s occupants.

I'm not an army of one
Well, He at least wasn’t as stubborn as her husband to be it seemed. It was an aspect she liked and disliked about the man she loved. It was a part of what made him her hero and what made him hard headed. Serah giggled at the thought. SHe missed her Snow, she enjoyed this life she was making with her sister’s… as much as it took getting used to, but that didn’t make her miss the man any less. She hoped each day she could see him again.. But she also knew he wouldn't want her to just wallow around waiting on him, nor could she afford to! She had a younger sister to take care of! She smiled gently. Good, she wouldn't have to pull out the discipline then!
”Good Caius, thank you.. Even heroes need their rest you know”
And that was what Serah truly believed the man to be, a hero. His actions in the best and especially today showed it in spades. However as Serah walked off she caught Caius reply to her words, turning a red she blushed, fuming a bit as she called back.
”I have a Fiance you know thank you very much! We’ll be finding you someone just for you! ….now for sure”
She was a bit more concerned on the influence her little sister might be having… or maybe Caius just didn’t show that more playful side of himself usually? Ether way she giggled as she went off back to her home.
The two would soon part ways after this, Serah would go home to find that yes, Claire had in fact been up to her usual chaos in her absence. Claire’s chaos was unique of course, she didn’t seek to hurt anyone or anything, what she did do was sow it in many other ways. Pranks, Pranks, pranks. In school, out of school, and with a certain older sister not around to reign her in? There was bound to be more. Her other sister? She didn’t expect her to always rein her sister in. For one they kept switching in school, so she was a part of it in someone… but.. It was also helping her so it was hard to deny her. On the other hand she was also still recovering from… that guy, the one she had grown to have deep feelings for disappearing on the whims of this cruel world. She was still going through a rough time, recovering slowly but… no, she wouldn't’ and couldn't put things on her, she was every bit going through a similar situation to Claire after all.
Claire had of course received the usual lecture from ‘Meanie miss farron’ on the same hand though, Claire was doing wonderfully in school and she made sure to let her know she was happy about that too. Was that weird? Was it weird hearing who used to be your little sister saying they were proud of them? Probably… but she was. Claire really was a natural at magic. ‘Lighting’ had been talented too of course, but she got the feeling she had more followed the path of the solder before, in order to help Serah herself. Now though… she could follow this path, she could indulge in what was clearly a natural talent for her. Her grades showed it in every way.
She had Mog to, and while he was her rival and partner in crime, Serah also trusted her to help Serah if anything did happen. She trusted the moogle to not allow any harm to come to her if it was in his power. So Serah was able to wash herself up confidently and get dressed for Caius arrival. She was dressed in a bit of fancy apparel, not because of Caius coming specifically but because that was just how she liked to dress, it was something she and her sister’s had in common, albet all in their own style. She wore a frilly pink skirt, with the Frilly short sleeve shirt to match, complete with stockings to finish her bubblegum colored apparel. Caius knocked shortly after she had finished getting ready, and she answered the door with a smile, welcoming him in.
”I guess mercenaries can clean up well to huh? Had practice?”
She teased playfully, giggling. In the background the smell of various foods could be caught, Serah was preparing dinner for everyone later, she had made extra in case Caius himself stayed long enough for it.
”Claire and Clarity, you might know her as Lumina if you’ve met her, they will be here in a while, they're both out at the moment”
She took a moment to check in on her food, adjusting what need to be adjusted, stirring a pot and the like before returning her attention to the man.
”In the meantime… I suppose we can discuss things right?”

The Dragonblades
"I know!" Caius remarked with a roll of his eyes when Serah responded by stating the obvious. Though by the sound of her tone, it looks like he had managed to fluster her. So it wasn't a total bust of a comeback. He wasn't hitting on her at all, Caius didn't even know -how- to "hit on" someone. But he did know how to rib her if she was going to play these games. He had been learning. Claire's influence, possibly? He had pranked Yuffie too, of all things. The oftentimes stoic mercenary was changing before their very eyes, though he didn't seem to realize it himself.
Once he had finished skinning, cleaned up and gotten himself presentable, he would wave offhand as Serah would open the door. Serah it seemed, had changed as well, and Caius appraised her up and down a moment to acknowledge as such. Though he rolled his eyes as he walked in once allowed, the eyeroll being directed towards her comment.
"It's my job to look professional."
Well, not really. But it helped, and this was meant to be a business lunch after all. So he technically was representing the Dragonblades in all of this. "I've met Lumina, aye" Caius brought up when Serah asked about her, but he blinked a few times as he smelled food. It smelled like a lot of food. He happened to peek into the kitchen when Serah went to check on it as well, curious when it was clear that it was no smalltime snack either. And it still looked like it was in the beginning stages of preparation, likely in anticipation of Claire and Lumina being back later. Which meant...
"Uh... Serah?" Caius brought up curiously, blinking a few times. "How long do you think that's going to be? I offered to take you out for lunch, but you can't exactly leave that on the fire either. Do you need help with that?"

I'm not an army of one
It was finished by the pinkette sticking out her tongue briefly, despite being too far away at that point for Caius to see it. Crossing her arms and giving a childish hmph! As she left for her home. Where she would. She may have also gotten so busy that she got into her usual routine, slipping her mind just a bit that she was well…supposed to be going out. Or maybe she just instinctively avoided that result because of its closeness to stuff she and Snow would do. Maybe that’s why she had the long term meal making, and timing her sisters coming back later on….
…Nahhhhhh couldn't be!
In any case the girl giggled playfully at his wording. Professional indeed, he was definitely the type. Another similar aspect to how her older sister… well, to how Claire once was. Serah wasn’t latching on to to it, but having that familiarity was a nice feeling. She smiled warmly, a wide smile playing on her face.
”Ah I expect next I’ll see you slaying your next Behemoth in suit and tie hmmm?”
Ah so he had met Lumina! Well, Clarity as she liked her to call her. So Caius knew the whole family then at this point. ….Caius knew the whole family at this point….
…..poor Caius.
”That’s nice. You're probably used to this now, but my sisters are kind people, unique, but kind! They really do have the best of intentions, well, usually…”
Her thoughts went to the antics a certain little sister got to. She was limitlessly proud of her sister’s progress in school, but… the ‘parent teacher meetings’ probably shouldn't be happening more than once a week, sigh… still, the teachers seemed just as mixed up as her between her ability in class and her endless pranks-at least that meant she wasn't just doing a terrible job…
Though, she couldn't help but remind herself, if she was younger she’d have been wanting to join in with her sister. She couldn't help but imagine what that would be like… She found herself lost in these thoughts until Caius brought up quite a good point, causing the girl to blink a moment in confusion.
”Huh…?”
It took her a moment to get her thoughts together, before realizing what Caius meant and reacting with surprise.
”Ah! I’m sorry Caius, I guess I just… got into things. I can stop it here in just a bit and continue it after our lunch, I’d hate to mess up your kind offer! I’m not sure why I got so into things…”
She rubbed the back of her head and sighed, it was clear she felt bad about all this.
”It won’t be too long! It is a stew, cooking in one of our pots, so it can stew for a while anyway, you know? I’ll take it off in a minute and we can get going, err… unless you want to just stay and help of course, that's fine too, where are we going anyway?”
After giving the meal that short time it needed to get heated up enough to stew she’d get to work on, if she wasn’t stopped shutting down her fire for time being.
