In the sea of lovers without ships And lovers without sight You’re the only way out of this sea
The bar is nicer than the outside would and area would have one believe. The lights are dim and candles light the room in a dewy glow. The smell of alcohol is muted by the flowers that sit perched at the end of the the booths and tables. Its questionable how the piano was fit through the door, but the questions dies away as the soft melodies began to thaw the chill brought from the outside and possible the ice of the heart. Clumsily crafted hearts and streamers are strewn from the banisters and heart shaped pamphlets are handed out upon entry.
The bartender is a handsome fellow, hair that seems like its own flame among the other low burning lights. He has a soft smile and looks up to you as approach the bar. Perhaps he was the siren the bar was named after as his soft silky voice tickles at your ear. "Now what a sight for this sore eye," he smiles at his own joke and winks as he pulls a glass from under the bar filling your order. "Alas, I am just the Siren's helper here to free you from you shy inhibitions and bashfulness so that you may sail this sea without fearing the rocks and waves."
"Perhaps it's the topic of conversation that still your tongue and keep you tied to the harbor," he shakes his hand but not condescendingly. He looks left and right before sliding a small pamphlet toward you, "No one needs to know you had a first mate helping out do they?
What colour best describes your personality? Are you a night owl or an early bird? Tell me your best/worst pickup line? I promise I won't laugh-too hard. Don't you think our bartender is a handsome fellow? Let's say we skipped this joint, what would you want to do?

Aerith giggled as she held the heart shaped form in her hand. "Calm down killer," she said as the bartender tried to hand her prompts with talking suggestions on it. The Sirens Call, Provo
Dragonblades leader Caius Dragelion was holed up in the establishment picking up a lead on one of the slave buyers that the Original Sin had been selling to. After killing Darlene and severely crippling their trade, now it was time to pick off their buyers to ensure that their business in that cruel department didn't continue. A newer recruit had come with him in hopes of gaining some experience. Sitting at the bar with the recruit, a young woman, Caius scanned the area around them. The typical buyers had been wealthy men, so at the least, he could narrow down by looks a little... But he also knew that appearances were deceiving. He had found a lead on an older man who had been seen shoving a young woman with a collar into their home, but a search of the area found that this man wasn't home much, and neither was this woman. But interrogating a resident in the area found that this one liked to frequent the Siren's Call in Provo at night. It was a start.
But this was going to be harder than he would have liked. After roping a few of them, it was inevitable that at least some of them would catch onto what he was doing. Which might explain why this one had been so difficult to find. As they sat at the bar though and made their orders, this particular bartender had some... Interesting dialogue that left Caius staring at them blank-faced, blinking a few times in that clueless way of his.
"Ah! Boss, he's talking about signing up for a blind date thing! Maybe you should give it a spin, huh? Find yourself a nice lady?" The recruit would pipe up, as Caius turned their head toward them, tilting his head curiously. The recruit seemed... Oddly excitable about this whole thing, he noted.
"Blind date? I scarcely know what a date is, much less a blind one. Celes mentioned it wasn't actually a team building exercise, but I've found out little on the subject since."
The recruit looked... Understandably flabbergasted, heat rising to their cheeks as if they were both surprised and a little embarrassed that the large man in front of her had no idea what a date was.
"Well, uh... Boss, a date is a... Gods, this is harder than I thought..."
"Caius."
"Huh?"
"I would prefer if you addressed me by name."
"Oh! Umm... Caius. That's a good way to go, actually! No ego, no throwing around titles, some ladies like that."
"I don't understand the correlation between that and the topic."
"Oh gods... This is not going to be easy. Were you raised in a cave?"
"Farm."
"God damnit, why me... Well, okay. A date is... A date is an activity you go on with someone that you desire to be your romantic partner. Typically you'd go to a nice restaurant and get something to eat together, talk... Get to know them, see if they're eligible."
"That sounds like a strange way to look for a partner. I already have a partner I can count on when need be, though."
"Wait, really?"
"Yes. Celes is more than capable. Strong-willed, skilled, competent and able to keep a cool head in any situation."
The recruit nearly drops her drink, keeping their wits about them enough to put it down before clasping their hands to their mouth, eyes widening in surprise.
"Wait, you and General Celes are...?"
"She's the person I can count on when a tough fight comes, yes. Can't imagine someone I'd trust more."
"... Oh. How did I not-Oh damnit all, NO you blockhead! ROMANTIC partner! Like, the person you want to possibly one day live with and spend the rest of your life with?"
"Oh, that. I read about that. Why didn't you just say it like that in the first place?" Caius asked, with genuine curiosity as the mercenary, completely calm in the face of the recruit's outburst and the situation, would gingerly take a sip from his drink.
"... I did not sign up for this. Do you not think of anything else except fighting?"
"I mean, you actually did sign up for a mercenary guil-"
"I know, smartass."
The terribly done recruit would very quickly take down the drink in front of them and order another in earnest.
"So this date thing is an interview process for... Eligibility?"
"I mean, sort of, yes."
"Wouldn't it be easier to pick a... Partner, without the blindfold?"
"The what?"
"The blindfold. Isn't that why it's called a blind date? What is the purpose of the blindfold?"
"The more we discuss this, the more I think this is a terrible idea that I will undoubtedly regret, but for the sake of the fact I think you might need to get out more..."
"Get out? Like, outside? I travel often."
"I KNOW THAT, but... Argh! Okay! So the first date is typically just something you set up with a girl you like, and have potential romantic interest in. Following me so far? The first date is just a feeling out process, get to know them, find out if they are compatible with you, and if you want to spend more time with them in that way. Then the second date and onward is just continuing to spend time together until one of you decides whether or not you want to become romantic partners. BLIND dates are for people who don't have someone in mind, and-"
"We're supposed to be working."
"Yes, and you will have free time when we are done here, so you'll have time for this thing when we finish here."
"No, I mean I think I see him. He's wearing a cloak, but what I can see under him, he fits our description."
"Oh! Umm... Ok, just uh... Blind dates are to get a hand with the first step. Understood?"
"Yes."
Caius quickly filled out the form handed to him, before paying for their drinks and getting up. He still didn't understand much of this, but he needed to get his recruit's head back on straight if they were going to do this, and this seemed like the best way.
Your Name: Caius Partner's Preferred Gender: Female Likes: Weaponry, animals, fighting, cup noodles Dislikes: Spiders
"Finally!" The recruit exclaimed, clapsing her hands together, excitement in her eyes. The clear hopeless romantic let out a relived sigh, seeming overjoyed at the prospect of getting their new companion into the world of romance. "Now, when you meet this girl, you need to be-"
The girl turned her head to realize Caius was gone.
"Boss? Uhh... Caius? Hello?"
One of the patrons turned to her.
"Some cloaked guy looked at you lot and made a break for it. Your friend bolted after him. He's long gone."
Even though we shouldn't, baby boy, we will Need somebody, gimme something I can feel
It had been some time since Bartz had been on a date. Bartz rubbed his chin as he swiveled on the the bar stool. Bartz glanced down the list of conversation topics before wiggling his eyebrows at the bartender. "Well, I think our bartender is quite the catch in this sea," he said which got him a soft laugh and wink before the bartender filled his drink before going to help some of the other patrons. Bartz took a sip as he quickly filled out his form.

“Come now, Jesse.” She addressed the bartender as if she knew him well. She eased up to the bar and slid her business card across the counter to him. Her earthy tones never left his eyes as she did so with a crooked grin. She leaned in close to him. “You know me better than that. Hook me up with someone…” Her eyes looked up as she thought about the word she wanted to use. Her eyes rolled back to his. “…interesting. You know what I mean.” She gestured to her business card.
On the back the specifications were listed out in neat handwriting the specification requested:

Inquisitively, Quistis looked about the bar, before turning her eyes to the pamphlet. Well this was certainly an interesting situation to walk into. It was not like she currently had anything better to do, and mayhap this could bring her one step closer to discovering her purpose to being brought here. Maybe it was to help someone light their inner flame.
Either way, it was warmer than the cold outside and bartender seemed cause her face to get warmer with his compliments. Though, she soaked the flattery in with a humbleness all her own. “Even if I did sail the sea without fear, would I find a good catch in the process?” She teased back as her eyes lifted from the pamphlet.
She leaned down and began scribbling out her response.

I love this in character sign up lol
You've got a lot of brass, or mayhap you're just lacking in brains!
The bar was a fine sort. Clean, warm, and nothing like the dives down by the docks he’d taken to when he’d lacked his weight in gil. It should have calmed his heart, but it didn’t. Not when papers were being shoved into his hand.
”Eh…” It was a heart. A bright red, lover’s heart that matched all the silly things strung from the ceiling. Faris ran a hand through his hair, head tilted. ”This is about as daft as a loon. Why don’t we skip it and find somewhere a little more-” Faris looked to his side and blinked at the empty space beside him. ”Bartz?”
But Bartz was already at the counter, swiveling around on the stool with a hand at his chin. Faris sighed. ”Well I’ve got the time to lose.” He shoved his hair over his shoulder and approached the counter. He tried for a grin.
”We’ll be sailing, aye?” He took a pen and set it to paper. ”There’s not a sea that’s scared me yet.”
The words were typed out in a bold, sharp print. Faris squinted at it. Letters had never been his strong suit, but after a moment and a little muttering (”Pref-air-ed Gen-der? The blazes?”), he scribbled down a rough script of his own.
Your Name: Faris Partner’s Preferred Gender: Any will do Likes: The sea, a pint of ale, a strong heart with wits to match Dislikes: Rich parties, fancy talk, a man full of air
