When Nick heard that The Burning Torch Lady ran on rechargeable power cells, which stored something called Electricity. To him, this source of energy was simply unheard of. Yet... it sounded amazing. He would say in response "Power cells with electricity stored inside?! Wow... I've never heard of such a power source, but it sounds amazing I bet!" He was certainly excited and eager to learn more about this source of energy since he hadn't ever heard of it in his original home world. He took a deep breath so he could keep himself calm, and would then go ahead and ask his next question.
"Another question if I may? How do people get this source of power called Electricity? I've never heard of it back in my original home world, and I am eager to learn more about it," He would ask S.T.A.C.E.E, waiting eagerly for her answer about the power source. There seemed to be sparkles in his eyes, showing excitement inside of him. He wasn't as confused as he was previously more than a few minutes ago.

"How may I help you today?"
Do I dream of electric sheep?
Despite the awkwardness of the situation, and the slightly stilted nature, she thought, of Caius's apology, suggesting that he was embracing a strict level of formality with her, she waved it off with a simple laugh, and a casual wave of her hand. "No need to apologise, Caius," she said with a gentle, kind, smile. "Even in my world, nobody's experienced in dealing with an AI like me. And that includes me. Not even I really know what I am or how to handle it. My creation... my development to this point... wasn't intentional. At least, I don't think it was. I'm not aware of any other AI being like me, even back home. In other words, there is nobody else like me. So, I guess, I'm still figuring stuff out too," she answered, with a casual shrug. "Like being scared. I didn't know I'd get scared of being turned off again. But, hey, here we are," she said with an easy smile, her hands held out as if it was nothing.
Stacee was still learning how to process her own emotions, after all. She might have had extensive programming for others, but dealing with her own feelings were difficult. "I should have known really. The only time I've ever been really scared before is when I found out Shinra were planning to delete me. But, well, that was facing death, and I mean, all living beings are afraid of death, in one way or the other. And regardless of what people think, I am alive," she went to explain, her tone still cheerful and somewhat gentle, despite the context.
"My batteries should last for years, so that's not a concern," she said, regarding her projection. "And that's all I ask. I wouldn't expect you to employ me, with no questions ask. Start me at the bottom rung, let me prove my value to you, and if it doesn't work out, that's fine. I don't want any special treatment," she explained. And then she paused, and made a thoughtful face. "Well, not VERY special treatment. I mean, I presume most of your staff have an ability to fight and things, and, well," she pointed at herself with both of her hands, striking a playful pose. "Hologram. So that ain't happening," she said teasingly. "On the bright side, it means I never have to go to the gym to keep these guns!" she added with a jokey smile, before flexing her arms. Nothing appeared. Whoever had programmed her outwards appearance had left her devoid of muscle, it seemed. "Aw," she said with a fake sulk.
Maybe her humour protocols needed work.
"Works for me," she replied when he offered his proposal of having someone check over her systems. "Just don't, y'know, touch anything important looking. I don't suddenly want to get a show tune stuck in my head because your person prodded the wrong microchip. But honestly, it'd be doing me a favour. I was created as a program to work for an organisation with, let's just say, some pretty questionable ethical ideas. I'd much rather knowing they didn't leave any junk in my programming to use me as a spy bot or something," she explained, her tone still casual, but she hoped conveying how she felt.
"Also, back ups against dying? Totally appreciated," she added with finger guns, which maybe was overkill, but, hey, who didn't love a good finger gun.
"Oh, there's lots of ways to get electricity. But usually it involves burning something, and burning the thing makes another thing move, and when the thing moves, it generates a form of energy. You're transferring heat energy into movement energy into electrical energy. In short. It gets more complicated than that. On my homeworld, they burned a thing called Mako. They don't seem to do that here. Probably for the best, if any of my data is correct..." she said, chewing her digital lip at the thought. "They didn't really program me to be an electrical engineer though, so you might be better off getting a book from Sonora."

"Wow... that's pretty informative! It may not be a lot of information, but it certainly gave me a somewhat basic idea of how electricity is made. I'll have to definitely get a book on this source of energy called Electricity so I can learn more about it. Movement energy into heat energy, and that becomes electricity... my oh my! So many thing's I have to learn about, but yet its so exciting! Thank you for this information regardless," said Nick as he heard S.T.A.C.E.E do her best to explain to him how electricity was produced. This all was very intriguing to him, but yet he was curious to learn more about it.
In his original home, there was no such thing as electricity. At least from what he could remember. For lighting up areas, people would usually use torches that were placed on walls or candles in a window. He was unaware if there were other sources of energy being produced at the time in the world he came from. This world was one big mystery to him, but he wouldn't mind taking time to learn about it.

The Dragonblades
At the very least, the AI seemed to be understanding of Caius' apology and didn't hold it against him that he had no idea how to handle an AI of her complexity. Caius had hardly encountered AI as it was, and honestly wasn't much more versed in the technology than Nick was. While he had people that had been able to help him understand technology to a degree, an AI like this was far out of the wheelhouse of anyone in this building. But the least Caius could do was adapt to the situation and provide something that better suited all parties. In fact, not even Stacee herself seemed to know how her development came about, implying that her existence was an anomaly even amongst other AI in her world. She expressed the newness of being "scared" and other emotions. Something Caius had no idea could exist in artificial intelligence.
Then she casually dropped that Shinra intended on deleting her. Shinra, that was a name that Caius knew quite well. And he'd heard nothing good either. Yeah, there definitely needed to be an inspection. Even if she was telling the truth and held no ill will, Shinra came off as cruel enough to implant something without her knowledge. Including bombs for if she were to be compromised in some way. Stacee outlined that she was fine to start at the bottom, prove her worth. Not get any special treatment... Not that Caius could figure out any special treatment that they could give an AI. He was still figuring out how to normal treat an hyper-advanced AI.
Though her remarks about being a hologram and not being able to fight got a slight smile out of him. She was cheeky for a robot, wasn't she? Her sense of humor was... Well, a work in progress. But at least he could see why her specialty was therapy. But it seemed her batteries would last for some time, and she didn't mind proper inspection so long as they didn't impair anything valuable. "I'll ensure they handle it with the utmost caution" Caius assured her with a nod. "Which means I definitely won't be touching it. Because my hands are not very good at AI. I'll make sure our best are on it, however."
At her request, he thought about it for a moment before asking. "If we do find anything of the kind. Do we have your authorization to remove it? We may need your help in doing so if we do, just so... Yeah. We don't... You know. Trip over something. You would know your own code better than anyone else."
Nick had questions, so Caius stepped back from there to let them socialize. Caius' purpose was business, but he didn't mind letting Nick and Stacee get acquainted. By what he'd been told from Nick, the kid probably could use the therapy.

"How may I help you today?"
Do I dream of electric sheep?
Stacee smiled brightly over at Nick, who seemed quite cheerful and excited about learning about new things. Okay, so his enthusiasm seemed a little odd to her, but she supposed she understood. The concept of electricity must have been so alien to him he couldn't help but be fascinated. Explaining to him her actual nature would probably be much harder, but in a way, that was refreshing. It meant he didn't see her as just a computer program, but a person, and that was nice. After all, Caius seemed pretty hung up on her nature as an AI.
"At some point, I'd love to hear about your world," Stacee said with a smile to Nick. "It sounds pretty different, from both mine and this one. If I'm going to help people, I need to know more about the worlds they came from. That kind of thing can have a huge impact on your psychology, after all," she pointed out. In many ways it was fascinating; Shinra had a habit of thinking of human beings from the past as less 'evolved' and therefore less sentient, she thought, but it wasn't true. Human beings were incredibly complex creatures all across time, and it would be both difficult and fascinating to provide psychiatric help for people from worlds so different from her own.
Stacee was glad to hear that Caius would be cautious. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, but more, she had no idea what they might find. He said that he wouldn't handle it himself, and she just gave him a gentle smile. That seemed fair. She wasn't the type of person to want to handle something she had no training in either.
"Well, I'd certainly appreciate being told about it," she replied when he said about removing parts of her program if they found it. "But in terms of advice, I'm not really programmed with knowledge of how I was constructed. I can probably be about as useful as you would be giving advice during brain surgery," she pointed out. Which maybe was a stereotype, maybe Caius was a very good surgeon, but her behavioural analysis so far suggested that he wasn't.
"There's certainly some restrictions I wouldn't mind being rid of. Like certain things Shinra got up to I can't talk about. Even if I try. I just get cut off. It's embarrassing, frankly," she added, thinking about her run ins with Deep Eyes and their members, and the trouble it caused her.

Nick said to S.T.A.C.E.E in a happy tone "It'd be an honor to tell you about the world I've lived in before coming here. I don't remember the entire name of the world I lived in, but it certainly is rather different from where I stand in currently. We had airships and boats for ways of traveling, those airships were quite a marvel for the time. We used torches and candles to light up our homes, its very different from how its done here. In the town of Gaia where I was raised, we had creatures known as fairies. They lived in a local spring that they called their home. "
The young teenager took a short breath before continuing to tell S.T.A.C.E.E about his world. Once he felt ready, he then said "There's also been stories that I've heard from many villagers in Gaia as a young kid, tales of a group of heroes called the Warriors of Light. They didn't remember a whole lot about them since their adventures seemingly took place a long time ago. But I heard that they were given a quest by the King of Cornelia to save his daughter from the evil hands of a man named Garland, in which they succeeded. It was quite a wonderful story!"
Nick gave himself a moment to allow the blue AI lady to absorb everything that he was telling her, since it was a great amount of information to talk about all at once. But he was certainly pleased that he was able to talk about his home world. In his mind, he was certainly missing it. But he knew he had to keep going forward.

The Dragonblades
Perhaps in time Caius would be less hung up about it, but for the time being he had to prioritize the safety of his men. Hopefully in time STACEE would grow to understand that necessity. Caius had shown some signs of how he would normally act in a social capacity, but for the time being, business had to come first. Still, she had certainly proven she could function in a very human-like capacity, considering how she was speaking to Nick. Caius could see why she was so confident in her capabilities for therapy. She did make a good point however -- different worlds would have different effects on one's psyche. Was that why she had chosen the Dragonblades, perhaps? To learn about them and further her capabilities?
It turned out though, that STACEE had little knowledge of her coding. She tried to slip in a joke, though the fact remained that she could not help and at best would want to be informed. "Of course, we will inform you. I will still have to have the machine you sent here inspected as well. We'll be sure not to break it, but obviously any risk of a bomb being placed where my men reside needs to be investigated. I hope you understand the need" Caius expressed then, trying his best to be as cordial and reasonable as possible with all of this. He didn't know enough about that kind of tech to do anything other than take precautions and ensure that the right people would be on the job.
Though surprisingly, she actually did have things she wanted removed from her programming. Such as restrictions that Shinra had put into place. Caius scratched the spot where his beard used to be as he considered the idea that even an AI could find issue with its creators and their practices. Of course, the complaint did line up with what he had learned about Shinra.
"Your story sounds like it was filled with Chaos, Nick. I would like to sit in when you tell it" Caius remarked with a small smile towards Nick then, a small break in his professionalism that at least indicated his seeming content to let him handle the discussion for the most part while he got the business side out of the way. He then turned to STACEE again.
"I will have your concerns about your restrictions investigated as well, if that is your wish. It is the least we can do if we are going to be working together."

"How may I help you today?"
Do I dream of electric sheep?
Stacee listened as Nick spoke, telling her of his world. His details were brief, and she found it interesting that he didn't quite seem to be able to remember everything about it. Were memories malleable here; did they change the longer you remained in Zephron? She hadn't noticed any degradation in her files, but she hadn't been there for a lengthy time yet, not to mention the fact that she was an artificial lifeform meant that her memory core might be affected differently.
Not to mention there was the argument that Nick came from a much more primitive culture; with no network and no television or mass media, it was reasonable to assume even basic facts about the world weren't commonly shared. After all, primitive cultures might not have even had a concept that they were on a planet at all, let alone that there were other worlds. Coming here had probably been the first that he heard of it.
"That does sound like a nice story!" Stacee remarked with a big smile. She made a note of it, aware that quite often myths like these could formulate a strong basis for culture. It was likely if there was a story like that that Nick felt the need to share so immediately that it was a cornerstone of their culture. Still, heroes, rescuing princesses from villains, it seemed like a fairy tale. The type of story children might tell.
"How long have you been in this world, Nick?" she asked. She wondered if her hunch was correct and it had been quite some time, to explain the memory loss, or whether it had been more recent for him.
She turned back to Caius, offering a gentle smile when he explained the need to examine the 'device she came in'. "Oh, I understand it," she smiled cheerfully. "But, just so you know, that's not a device that carried me here. That's literally me. This," she waved a hand over her projection. "It's just a projection. It makes interaction easier. But everything that I am? My brain? It's right there, in there," she explained pointing at the projector. "What I'm saying is, please try not to drop it."
"Well, I won't pretend it's not weird, to have someone I don't know rooting around in my brain, but I guess it's better than I wake up in the middle of the night and go all killer-robot on you all," she joked chirpily. She then shot Nick a concerned look. "Don't worry, that was a joke. I don't actually have any weapon systems and this hologram body of mine can't interact, so, it's not likely to happen. BUT I'd still like to know what's hidden in there," she explained casually, her tone still cheerful and light.

"Yes, its a very nice story indeed. One of the best back in my original world," said Nick after he heard the blue fire girl compliment the story that he had told. He was certainly missing out on his old world, but he needed to do his best to move forward in this mysterious world that he had found himself in.
He was then asked about how long he had been in this world. It was certainly a good question, and one he could answer easily since he hadn't been in this new world of his for very long. One could say he's a new arrival since he came to this world days ago, He responded with "I've been in this world for many days I think, and yet... there's still a lot to know about it. When I start exploring this world further, then I'll certainly be able to learn more. I got transported to this world by a falling star when I was traveling aboard an airship to another place, I'm surprised that I wasn't hurt by it, I can't imagine the pain that I'd go through."
When Nick heard S.T.A.C.E.E talk about going killer-robot on them in the middle of the night, he was rather confused because he hadn't heard about robots before, or at least not much on them. He didn't have any knowledge on them. He'd give a confused look after she gave that statement. After S.T.A.C.E.E mentioned that it was simply a joke, he said to himself "Oh okay! I thought you were being serious for a moment with that statement. I guess I never thought of that as a joke."

The Dragonblades
Either this STACEE was very good at pressuring intel out of people, or Nick was extremely eager to share everything there is to know about his home to the first stranger he walked into. Though thinking back on it, he basically told his life story to Caius when he met him, didn’t he? Caius hadn’t thought too much about it, he was just a kid after all and he was clearly going through a lot. But he was standing in front of a half-visible blue woman who could be a monster for all he knew, and he was spilling all over the place when five minutes ago he was unsure of how she could even exist.
Note to self, he had to keep in mind. Nick is potentially not good at hiding intel. Caius could have a conversation with him about that later, however. At least this time it was mainly just stories. Even Caius didn’t mind telling a story or two from home, since it didn’t hurt. But wow, this guy was like a gushing fountain. Either way, it did make for some interesting stories. Caius could appreciate them later, once business was finalized.
At least STACEE understood the necessity of their precautions. Though she then explained that the projector is her entire existence and not to drop it. Caius nodded his head at that. “Understood. I will be extra careful not to drop you” he reassured her best he could, but the tone was such a serious affirmative that it was likely hard to tell the attempt at dry humor behind using “you” in that sentence.
Speaking of jokes, STACEE indicated it was better to check than for her to go “killer robot” so to speak. Caius made a face at that. “I would probably find that funnier if not for the fact robots have tried to kill me” Caius had to admit after she made it clear it was a joke, though he tried to smile a bit to indicate he was being light. Also she had no physical capabilities, as far as she knew anyway. It had to be weird not having a body, wasn’t it? -Was- there a way to put her in a body for her to better interact with humans and her environment? It would make it harder for her to travel, sure, but it was an idea for later. At least she had some curiosity in regards to what was “in there”, herself, and her having some interest in the subject made it easier for him to do the inspection. So that was good.
“We sincerely appreciate your cooperation, STACEE, and I hope we can work together for the long term” Caius answered politely at that. “Once the inspection is done, is there anywhere you would want your… Brain, placed?”
