"You've gotta make a good first impression for your dates, Mr. Caius. Once you've built rapport, then you can grow it in. Besides, you don't want to appear like an old man, to a five hundred plus year old lady, do you~?" Claire pointed out, before adding, "Oh and with you being shaved, you'll look closer in age to Big Sis. I'm confident you two will look so cute together~ Mog! You've gotta be the escort and take a picture." she declared proudly, looking quite pleased and excited about this, even though she wasn't going on the date herself.
"Leave it to me, kupo!" Mog was invigorated too, so clearly he was invested in this 'scheme' too. Maybe, it wasn't a scheme and that someone genuinely sweet and kind was waiting?
"Oh, I have an idea. We could go shopping~! Don't worry about the money, okay? My twin makes a lot, so I can pay if need be. The reason you have to have two outfits, is each date is different. So, think of it as showing respect to your partners." Claire attempted to fudge her fashion logic.
"The temperature is different in each location, something lighter when you come to the Farron house is better, we're near the port, kupo." Mog came in with a practical save.
Regarding looking around and returning to school, Claire was fine to handle this much. "My classes are done for today, can't say the same for Leo though..." she attempted to hide her devious smirk by clearing her throat. "So, come on, give me the tour~! Please?" All the while, behind her sweet words, there was the possibility she may have just setup Leo to take the fall for the sound potion prank.
...He'll be fine, he's a teacher's pet.

The Dragonblades
“I'm going to be honest, Claire. I've lost track of which one is big sis again” admitted the mercenary who was, quite frankly, still trying to pick his jaw off the floor on all this.
He didn’t even see why that meant anything anyway, when-
Wait, dates? Wait, wasn’t the one with the other, not sister big sis, the date? When did this turn into two dates? Even then, people were more likely to think for the other, actual big sister, sister person he was taking his little sister out for food after school than a date. Or maybe she had magical appearance changing voodoo, who knows?
This was confusing.
Wait, his brain was getting off topic on the point. When did he get set up on two dates in the first place? Throughout this whole thing the mercenary had stared at Claire like the young Farron had begun growing a second head.
“I don’t think the pictures are necessary, Claire” Caius did his best to calmly protest. “Just… I don’t know much about dating, but I’m not really big on making a huge deal out of it. Might it be better if I just went to meet them, got to know them, see what kind of person they are without all the fanfare and expectations? I imagine it’s like scouting a battlefield. You can’t start shooting magic until you know what it is you’re getting into. Leave the pictures for someone I actually know and want to make memories with worth the camera. Otherwise you’re wasting mana, or well, film.”
Leave it to Caius to make battlefield comparisons for dating but the point stood. While the Celes date’s legitimacy was… Questionable. Everything had gone far better when he calmed down and was just himself. No formalities, no expectations. Just two friends talking and learning about each other. He didn’t know if that was normal or not but it was definitely comfortable for him.
Either way, seemed Claire was done for the day so they weren't in any rush. She asked for a tour, and he found himself exhaling the deep breath he didn't know he had been holding throughout all of this.
"Well, there's not much. You've already seen the desk. And the fireplace" the awkward mercenary remarked sheepishly, still recovering from the previous barrage as he motioned into the sitting room for her to go explore if she wanted. "There's a courtyard where we all train. We do our best not to set the place on fire. That would be expensive. And by that I mean the bill for treatment on whoever makes Celes angry enough would be very, very high. She's terrifying when she's angry."

"Big Sis is not related to us Farrons. She is an amazing person and she could use some help. I can't reveal any more than that, it's a surprise! Also, it's a proper date even if it's platonic." Claire stated, already crossing her arms before her chest and pouting. Her eyes screamed 'please don't screw this up', which at the very least meant she cared a lot about the person he was going to meet.
"Besides, I'd only provide the best of the best for you, Mr. Caius. You deserve this opportunity~" she really sounded like a proud daughter in this instance, even if she more saw this as helping out an older friend, maybe big brother. To Mog's credit, he simply whistled and was more interested in scoping the place out.
"Oh, that's a good approach. You're right, you shouldn't go into it with expectations and fanfare. As for the picture and it being a waste or not, I think the children would appreciate it. You don't need fanfare to have a good time. Besides, I'm the one covering the film cost, well the mana rather." which was true but not entirely, Lumina paid for the special magic crystal camera, Claire just benefited.
In regards to the tour or what little there was of it, Claire got to thinking. "Well of course I want to see the courtyard but I'd like to get something to eat first. Mog, I'm sure you're hungry too, we'd be eating around now if we were at home anyway." Mog, who was caught by surprise, was looking about the sitting area when he heard his name called. He spun around in surprise, before floating over to Claire.
"It is that time, huh, Kupo?" now the duo looked expectantly at Caius. Though how much could a teenage girl eat, right? Better question was, how much could Mog eat? Mysteries to play on the mind in this moment, even as the barrage of one problem swept away for something different entirely.

"Some help" Caius echoed, giving her a brow-quirked look. "That's not foreboding at all."
Was it any wonder that Caius had some doubts that this wasn't just a prank? Though Claire seemed really insistent on this happening, and that he deserved it... Whatever that meant. It made her happy though, and if it did turn out to be some kind of prank, he would just have a chat with her sister.
Though if this was legitimate, why she wanted him out on dates in the first place still eluded him.
But either way, Claire would insist that the picture was for the kids, though why that was, he didn't know. Caius didn't really understand the importance of the photo, but if it was what Claire wanted, he would oblige. So he would simply nod his head, indicating some level of agreement. If that was the way she wanted it, then that was how it would be. Claire meanwhile, wanted something to eat. It was getting to be around that time, wasn't it? Caius typically didn't eat from the larders of the Rest since he was usually gone when he did eat, but he supposed he could find something for her and the Moogle.
"Right. Is there any allergies I should know about? Preferences?" Caius inquired as he would head into the sitting room, and just past that, into the larder to look for what he could. He had some ideas, but it was better if he had some idea of what he was working with here. He wasn't much of a cook, really, at least not with utensils and things. But he had learned a thing or two during his recent extended stay in Torensten.

"Allergies, huh? Great question to ask." Claire began, looking rather impressed that Caius had come up with that. In the young Farron's mind, this meant he was taking it seriously and getting into the right state of mind. Perfect!
"None that I'm aware of. Fit as a fiddle, really." she'd note having taken a moment of consideration for herself. Nodding to assure herself, she'd leave it at that. With food dominating her thoughts, she couldn't matchmake with the necessary finesse, on an empty stomach. Nor could they perform any pranks, besides.
"Big Sis doesn't have any allergies either, in case you're wondering!" she'd shout as he'd gone to look for ingredients and the like. As to his other remarks, Claire looked to Mog, trying to do her best while they waited. To think, the secret to taming the duo was an empty stomach, ah...embarrassing.
"It's not foreboding you know. Really, you shouldn't read too much into it. Everyone could use some help here and there. The assistance of one person in an inconspicuous act, can make all the difference. It's just perception." Claire states, though she wasn't sure it was entirely coherent. She'd blame hunger for not being so eloquent in her speech for the time being.
"Just trust me that you'll see what I mean and knowing you, address her needs effortlessly." for Claire had every confidence in Mr. Caius, where it counted. He just needed her help where he was...lacking.

No allergies, that was good. With his lack of cooking experience, he wasn't going to know what was in every bit of food that they had. He just hoped she meant that the moogle was also allergy-free. "Which one?" Caius remarked dryly towards Claire's remark about "Big Sis" not having any allergies as he went through the larder. They had at least done well with keeping the place stocked, though to be honest, between a growing group of adventurous mercenaries and a very passionate cook in Cassandra, they kind of had to. No wonder Caius had started going to get groceries himself as of late. Speaking of, wasn't he supposed to grab some more before Claire had shown up and gotten herself in trouble? Hmm. Looks like he'd have to go back out later.
"Reading into things is how I've stayed alive" he called back when Claire would go on about how he shouldn't. "Especially when context isn't given. If it lacks contexts, it's likely shady. Plenty of people out there who like to scam people."
He squinted as he looked back at her. "Or prank people, in your case" he remarked, before moving back to business. "You didn't tell me your preferences, by the way. Either of you. Especially Mog. I haven't done a lot of research into what moogles eat" Caius pointed out, wanting to ensure that he could at least accommodate for the two in some measure. "I would ask Cassandra to provide something for the two of you, but she has been out on personal business for some time. Perhaps when she returns."
He sighed when she said to just trust her. "Alright" he spoke with a nod. "I'll trust you on this. I'm not sure if I understand the intent of putting me on a date, but if it's what makes you happy, I will give it my best."

When asked 'which one?' Claire nearly broke into a giggle fit. Only marginally keeping it together with a 'heehee', as if sensing the chaos of this, not unlike a little gremlin. Alas, this was not the time for mischief and miraculously (for Claire anyway) regained composure. "The one that isn't a Farron~ You'll thank me after you meet her." she remarks, proudly. For who was the older one in this situation, huh?
"A healthy amount of skepticism is good. Further, leads to paranoia and P-T-S-D." once more, who was the older one here?!
"Oh, I like a mix of fruit and nuts but I can eat about anything, really, kupo." honest to a fault that one, Claire had seen him eat as much too. So she'd nod along before speaking up for own preferences.
"I prefer sweets, admittedly." that confession earned a snort from Mog. Claire's love of sweets was a bit more than 'preference'.
"Hopefully, we'll get to run into Cassandra next time but there's nothing wrong with needing some personal time." Claire remarks with a nodding approval.
"Well, besides solemnly swearing that this isn't about anything mischievous; I do believe that my intention will become clear after both your dates. It's difficult to explain it to rookies in matters of love. Now, my actual little Big Sis, would be able to explain it to you better but from what I ear, she's only ever pined for one guy and eh..." she looked to Mog.
"I don't think she's had any failures or slip ups that would lend to needing a more curated dating experience." She sounded rather mature in this matter.

While a legitimate question, it may or may not have been an attempt at dry humor so it was good at least that one landed. So apparently the one without any allergies was the one he was going on this "date" with, then. Good to know, he supposed? Claire then remarked that further skepticism led to paranoid and PTSD. "Too late" Caius muttered under his breath as he started listening to their preferences. Sweets would be a pain if it meant having to cook anything, and he couldn't exactly just feed her some candy for dinner either. Mog would be easier to provide for, fruit and nuts didn't require much preparation, and he could do that.
"Sweets are great, but that would be for dessert. I need to know what to feed you as a proper meal, and your sister will have my head on her sword if I try to pass off sweets as a meal" Caius pointed out then. "Most likely all three sisters, at that" he added then. Caius was at least able to procure the fruits and nuts side of things, and the lack of allergies at least gave him some leeway to begin to cobble some things together.
Claire swore that she had honest intentions here, which elicited a sigh from the mercenary. Alright, he supposed he would just have to trust her on this one. She called him a "rookie" to matters of love, to which Caius muttered something about her having no idea. Then she began to talk about Serah's dating experiences.
"By what you've told me, it sounds like that relationship has needed more than a little bit of improvement" he cheeked calmly at that, though he was kidding. They sounded like they loved one another, even with death and a hundred other things getting in the way of that. "The biggest improvement being actually getting the man here."

When Caius admitted it was too late, Claire nearly frowned but opted to sigh instead. He'd clearly proven her point and really, who was the adult here?! Evidently, Caius was given his remarks on food and how all her sisters would get on him for trying to pass off dessert as a meal. "Oh? That can just be our secret, Mr. Caius~" her innocent smile was likely not fooling anyone.
"...Ahem, that said, let me think." as she doubted Caius could keep such a secret when pressed by any of them. "Chicken, rice, a side of veggies and coated with a honey garlic would do." seemingly her love of sweets extended to sauces, fruits, and other things too~
"Well, I'm not an expert, Mog would know better. I do believe you're right, that seems pretty elementary to me. Until he gets here though, I'll have to distract her a bit. When she fusses about Lumina it does keep her completely busy. I guess she feels guilty about how things turned out too." to which she took a moment to look Caius over, her gaze neutral at first before it turned into a scrutinizing one. As if she was some old lady, sizing up a potential match.
"Maybe..." she says before looking to Mog and nodding. "Serah does love cooking dinner. Once you've eaten her cooking, you'll see why it's hard to explain my preferences. Adults love having dinners, so they can socialize. Let's see how your dates turn out first. I also have some events coming up at the University." Claire admits, thinking to put this plan on hold for now. She needed more data and given the rookie she was working with, best not to overwhelm him.
"Do you have any questions, I can give you some tips?" Claire strongly suspected he'd need it, less his past experiences paint over his new ones. Then again, she was pretty confident in her choices but since Caius tended to overthink things...

Claire claimed that it could be just their little secret, but Caius gave a prompt and calm "no" at that as he waited for her to pick something. He listened then as she had a list after all, and Caius began looking through the pantry... Chicken and rice, he could prepare well enough. Vegetables, he could also prepare. Honey garlic? He didn't think they had that. "I'll make a note for next visit for the honey garlic, but the rest I can do" Caius spoke up as he finished gathering the materials. He took a deep breath then, trying to remember how to use the kitchen instruments here in the Rest. They were different from just cooking over a fire, after all. Fortunately, Cassandra had left instructions, and there were sticky notes littered all over the kitchen area as a result. She wasn't very well organized, but she knew her stuff.
Nothing they could do about getting Snow here for now, and Claire was blatantly distracting Serah in the meantime. Caius brought things into the kitchen and got to work while he listened to Claire go on. He was definitely far slower and clumsier than Serah in the kitchen, but he was trying his best. He kept double checking the posties, though. Almost paranoid that he would get something wrong.
She said something about "seeing how their dates turn out first", to which Caius didn't quite understand. But adults did seem to like having dinners, that he could agree with. "It makes conversation more convenient. Easier to focus on the matter at hand when waiting for, and eating a meal" Caius remarked offhand at that. He hadn't had that many dinners with people, but he did understand their value from a practical standpoint. Then she asked if he had questions.
"Anything you can tell me about what they're like? This date you spoke of, and your sister Lumina as well" Caius asked after a few moments of thought. A generic question, but it would be good to have some information going in. "Aside from their allergies, I mean. It'd be good to know to, say, make sure not to sneeze if they have some sort of irrational rage that comes out when someone in the room sneezes."
