She shook her head at his words. Perhaps she had been an ex-Turk for too long now. After the events with Verdot and being forced to leave, it felt harder now to accept explanations that defended the executives. Even more so, after the professor destroyed the life of two Turks and a SOLDIER who simply wanted to be a hero. Her pent up anger took her out of the kitchenette. A moment later, she found she absentmindedly brought her tea with her. She went to set it down on her desk, but did so with a little too much force. The liquid scalded her fingers and she let out a frustrated hiss.

“Of course he would not mention them. They meant NOTHING to him.” None of his test subjects did. They were simply a means to a scientific end. She doubted he even remembered their names.

Shaking the residue of the hot liquid off her fingers, she stared out the window to the city again. She had backed off her hostility towards Sephiroth when she realized he remembered nothing. That he had been probably been pulled from a time before he snapped.
[break][break]
But Hojo? No. That man had always been cruel and manipulative. Before Cissnei was even born. Before Cissnei even met Vincent. Even before Sephiroth or Aerith were even born. She highly doubted a little bit of memory loss would change the entire core and personality of a person. After all, Jenova had not tainted him. He was the one cutting her up and spreading her genes into whatever he could.

She crossed her arms in front of her, her fingers biting into her sleeves.

“We may not be the best people, but Verdot taught us that after hours, we can be good people if we choose. We did what was best for the security of the people and the company. And even we have regrets for doing some things we did not want to do.” Unlike Hojo. She doubted that if he had any regrets for cutting up Aerith’s mom, then they were short lived. “I think every day about the blood on my hands, because I have a conscience. Why do you think our safe havens away from work were bars? I doubt Hojo does the same.”
[break][break]
And suddenly she felt a spark of heat in her. “Don’t compare us to him.” They were devils, but he was nothing but an inhuman monster. Cissnei had joined Shinra not only to survive, but because she believed her work was for the greater good. If people could have security and comfort via technological advancement, why was that a bad thing?
[break][break]
She heaved a heavy sigh, then moved towards the exit of her apartment. She pulled her trench coat off the hanger. “You are free to stay as long as you like. I have to attend some work related business.” They were just not going to see eye to eye on this matter. But it didn’t mean she didn’t care about him or any other Turk she may not agree with.

She simply needed recovery time with this bomb he dropped on her.
