Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.

The Dragonglaive
Caius had thought he knew pretty well about this sort of thing, but apparently not. Faris went on about a stigma, and Caius tilted his head through much of it, but eventually took a breath as he did his best to understand. Which he seemed to do relatively well despite his drunken stupor. Or at least just sort of accepted it. He'd figure out the rest later. It was important to Faris, was the most prominent thing right now. So he'd at least consider it until he was of sounder mind.
“I guess she would feel she had something to prove, if she’s being treated that way and knows there’s a stigma. I hadn’t thought too much about it” Caius admitted, scratching his head in turn. “She’s a warrior, and damn good at what she does. And with a strong heart to boot. That’s enough for me. But I guess while I’ve heard of this and that in Zephon… It’s still a little unbelievable to me that any kind of stigma against women is a thing. Like, I see it, I've heard of how it's happened with Celes. But I don’t understand how people can be that foolish. Where I came from, it was the women who were the working class in the City of Lestallum, they who worked theirs off to keep light in that city, to ward the daemons away. And you always heard the stories about the Oracle Lunafreya, the miracle mechanic Cindy, the fierce dragoon Aranea, the Daemon Slayer Iris. Not to mention all the women in the Kingsglaive, out there on the field day by day slaying monsters and daemons.”
This whole thing truly was alien to him. “And coming here, meeting Celes and Yuna, their strength was never something I called into question. I never had reason to. And your gender doesn’t make a difference to me either, you’re Captain Faris. That’s all I care about. So when these idiots popped up in our recruits, I just saw them as that. Idiots who joined wanting to coast on our reputation, who would soon find out that their foolishness wouldn’t bode well for them. I never considered there might be a bigger stigma there. I cannot for the life of me imagine why it exists.”
It literally made no sense to Caius. None of it did. Why would that sort of thing exist except for spite, or to feel like you're superior? Sure, he had read plenty of stories about "helpless damsels" in those books of his, classy ladies, and all that. But Caius knew it could be the other way around too. Because he had seen it.
“So this stigma was rampant in your world? Celes and Yuna never really talked about things like that so this is… Well, obviously quite new to me. I’d go and set those recruits straight myself if they’re pursuing this stigma, I’d considered it anyway, but..." he trailed off and he couldn't help the smallest, sheepish smile at the thought. "Honestly? Any we've had so far, Celes has scared them out of it far better than I ever could. She probably wouldn't allow me to anyway, she would insist that this is her problem to deal with and she can handle herself. A wish that I would respect. But it's also just that I don't have to. There is nothing I could do to convince those fools that she couldn't pull off far more efficiently.”

You've got a lot of brass, or mayhap you're just lacking in brains!
[attr=class, bulk] ”Well, it sounds like you live in a dream. But the rest of us have to pay our dues.” Faris recrossed his arms and let his head tilt back over the edge of his chair. The ceiling swam when he looked at it too hard. He’d best get to sobering up before too long. He felt a lot of fight in him, and there wasn’t much in the way of monsters to take it out on.
”You know what I never liked about you?” There was the fight again, peeking out its ugly head. It wanted to have a go at something, and right now he had enough of it to make him twitch. ”Your thick head. Now, I’m not calling you dull in the traditional sense, but you’ve got blinders on the size of dinner plates! You go about thinking yours is the only way there is until someone smacks you upside the head and tells you different!”
Faris shifted, rolling back his shoulders and cracking his neck to the side. ”You’ve got a good heart. You mean well, but you’ve got to open your eyes and listen for the quiet part before it’s shouted out loud. There’s a whole world that isn’t yours -- more now with everyone dropping in -- and scores of lives that’ve got just about as much in common as a fish and gull!”
Faris sat up straighter and pulled out his coinpurse. There wasn’t much to look at inside, but it was enough for a drink and he fished out the gil, smacking it on the table with a clumsy hand.
”But you’ve got more of an ear than I gave you credit for, I’d say. I see Yuna’s not too mad for putting her trust in you.” Faris gave him a teasing wink and stood unsteadily, gripping the table for support. He wasn’t in as bad a state as he’d have thought, once he got used to life on two feet. He’d always had a good sense for balance. It came with his sea legs.
”The city gets in another rut, you’ll know where to find someone with a high jump and a wicked spear.” Faris laughed. ”Or if you need a ship handled. I’m a captain at heart, after all.
”And a favor, if you could. You come across a pair of lasses by the name of Lenna or Krile? Tell them Faris is looking for them, and I’ve got Bartz wrangled the best I can.” Faris shook his head and gave Caius a short wave. ”I’ll be heading off before the dusk settles in.”

The Dragonglaive
"I won't pretend there isn't plenty for me to learn. This is a different world from the one I'm used to, but I'm still a guest in it. I don't expect this world to just behave like mine did" he brought up calmly when Faris finished grilling him. "There's clearly much I don't know. Like this whole... Thing against women you've talked about. I know it exists, you've made it clear, and there's been examples. Doesn't stop it from being hard to believe, and I've said why. But all I can do is learn, as I have now. And you have my thanks for the lesson, as... Loud, as it might have been."
"Loud" was putting it gently. Caius smiled slightly. He didn't seem all that mad at Faris for lambasting him. At this point he seemed used to it. Still, it was a lot to think about and his head was too addled from drink to process it as clearly as he would normally. He used to think that the worst people could do was kill you for your belongings, maybe make it slow and torturous, sadistic pleasure and all that. And that was still pretty bad. But the fact someone could live their entire life being looked down upon for what was in their pants? Not even the hellscape of Lucis had that. But that was reality in other worlds, and in this one. So he'd have to get used to that, he supposed.
Regardless, it seemed their conversation had come to an end, and at the least, they seemed a bit better off than before. Still a work in progress, but it was a start. As Faris shakily got to their feet, Caius held out an arm to the end of the table, but didn't raise it yet. He wanted to be prepared in case Faris needed help, it was just instinct. But he also understood that Faris' pride would be quite mad at him if he offered it prematurely. So the raise would only come if Faris fell and needed the help. Caius wasn't getting up anytime soon, he knew full well he wasn't ready to try without falling over.
Faris seemed to get along fine though, and Caius retracted his arm without a word. He supposed in the end he saw what Yuna saw in the Captain. Even if they were a bit rough around the edges. Faris offered their aid if it ever came to it, and he smirked in acknowledgement of that. Faris then asked a favor, and Caius nodded his head. "You have my word" he promised. Lenna and Krile, right? He'd do his best if he ever saw them.
With that, Faris made his way out and Caius waved in turn. "May the winds blow in your favor, Captain."
