Joanna smiled at the answer; even if it was mostly a joke, she understood the comparison all too well. Even she had her 'moody teen' phase when growing up, but she quickly grew out of it, much to the relief of the priests and priestesses who raised her. She has, as she got a bit older, got to deal with plenty of younger kids also going through that phase, so she understood the pain of adults having to suffer through them as well, even if all she really did was watch from the side. It wasn't as though she was ever expected to personally deal with them herself. Still, she could only imagine what it must be like going through all of that with a dragon of all things.
Then, as he went on to explain what his guild was, she blinked. The more he went on to explain, the more interesting it sounded. Honestly, it didn't seem too far off what what she did while she was adventuring with Wolly and the others back in her own home world. Perhaps that was why it seemed so tempting to ask if there was any room for someone like her to join. She did recall him saying that a girl he worked with (which she could only assume meant was part of his guild) was also a healer, but hey. It's not like having more than one healer could be a bad thing, right? Twice the healing for twice the monster busting. Win-win. That said, she decided against it. For now, at least.
For the time being, she wanted to try and strike out on her own for a bit. Maybe it was a bit of stubborn pride taking hold, but her conversation with Faris got her thinking. If this world was anywhere half as cruel and forgiving as he made it sound, then she wanted to try and fend for herself for a change, instead of relying on others. It wasn't that she was some brooding loner who felt that relying on allies was a sign of weakness. More than anything, she just wanted to be able to rely on herself, especially if she should actually end up teaming up with some allies but somehow got separated from them at any point. She didn't want to just be some waif who was only good at healing.
Of course, as he went on to describe some of his allies, the temptation grew that much stronger; but she decided to stick with her guns. For now at least. "They sound like quite a fun bunch. Hopefully, I'll get to meet them some day...though, for the time being, I think I wanna get a feel for this place on my own...learn to be a bit more independent, I suppose...at least, starting from when we arrive in town, anyway...I've had enough of this forest to last a lifetime, frankly. Even if they ultimately didn't prove much of an actual threat, that encounter with those idiot bandits was...let's say "emotionally draining"..."

If she asked, Caius would explain that he would love to have another healer in the Dragonblades. While Yuna was great, the Dragonblades was more than just a party. It was capable of expanding to a large group of people in order to cover the most group, and help the most people that way. Yuna, as great as she was, was only one woman. She couldn’t be in every party at once, and thus another healer would be a valuable asset. Caius had considered the idea of offering her membership, or at least telling her to check things out. But then again, he knew little about her besides that she was friendly and that she could most likely handle herself. It took far more ordinarily for him to actually offer. But he smiled slightly when she brought up that she planned to stay independent for a little while and kind of get her wits about her, as well as learn to be better as an independent. He understood that. He even respected that. “Understood” He responded curtly. “I can respect that. I did the same thing for a long while.”Still, he had the impression already that she would have already been able to handle the bandits, even if he hadn't intervened. She didn't seem anything more than minorly inconvenienced, in hindsight. She brought up that she would start whenever she arrived to town, and he had to wonder a moment how long she had been in Serentestra. "If you need a ride back to town, suppose we can always help you with that" Caius offered, looking toward Vordun then. "You don't mind, do you Vordun?" He asked the dragon, who snapped back to attention to look toward them before letting out a snort that emitted smoke from his nostrils. "I'm gonna take that as a yes from Vordun."
