The Warrior of Light awoke in a strange world, nauseated and panicked. He quickly began to gain his bearings, guided by his fellow Thief of Light and a young man by the name of Noel. Noel was very informative about the world and why the Warrior had awoken there, giving the Warrior his first step to understand this world.

The Warrior traveled from the Reikin Woods, across the map to the Metaia Temple. There, he helped a young woman who was unconscious, on the way to get his bearings.

The Warrior remains at the Metaia Temple, attempting to gain more knowledge from the locals. During the night, he runs into an old enemy that he vaguely remembers; Kuja, the sorcerer. The two talk, the Warrior revealing information about their shared past, and they form a shaky alliance, agreeing to meet once more after they explore the world and its secrets.

After traveling to Torensten, the Warrior of Light arrives just in time for Chaos, God of Discord to descend from the sky and begin attacking the city! Together with his allies, Faris and Terra, and a little help from the possessed Lightning, they are able to draw back Chaos and save the city from further ruin. However, as Chaos departs, he leaves them with a cryptic message, and the Warrior is left with the realization that this is no cycle of war.

The Warrior of Light, along with other souls of harmony, are called upon by Cosmos, the Goddess of Harmony. She is able to shed light into some of their situation here on Zephon, and asks for their cooperation in her plans. The Warrior, spurned by his last interaction with the Gods, begrudgingly agrees, but only on his own terms.

Lost in a strange forest, the Warrior of Light meets another knight, named Wiegraf. Together, they work to fight against the illusions and monsters that the forest sends after them.

Meeting up with one of his fellow Warrior's of Light, the nameless knight manages to relax and bond with a friend he'd thought lost.

The Warrior of Light returns to the outskirts of Metaia Temple, to meet up with Kuja as they previously agreed upon. The knight shares his experiences with Chaos and Cosmos with Kuja, and Kuja reveals some knowledge about a "Gate" he'd heard of beneath Torensten, just as Cosmos spoke of. Together, the two set off with their shaky alliance to Torensten.

Kuja and the Warrior of Light make it to the Dragon's Gate underneath Torensten, thanks to the Warrior's status as a hero to the city. As Kuja pretends to study the Gate, he reveals his true objective: Activating the Dragon's Gate. Unable to stop what was happening, the Warrior attempted to battle Kuja and lost, nearly losing his life if it weren't for the well timed appearance of his friend, Oran. The two barely escape the cave of dragons, and the Warrior loses consciousness, bloodied and defeated.

The Warrior awakes in a camp outside of Torensten, being tended to by Oran. Ashamed of his defeat, the Warrior departs in the middle of the knight, intent on righting his wrongs.

The Warrior follows the path of dragons, killing as many as he can, toward Metaia Temple. There, he runs into Faris, and as the two begin to drink and share tales, the Warrior reveals what happened between him and Kuja.

With his decision to find Kuja and take revenge for what happened in Torensten, the Warrior of Light ends up in Sonora to find information. Working for a family there, they help him infiltrate an opera that Kuja may have attended. He didn't find Kuja, however, he did find an interesting blonde man who took much more of his attention that he intended. Mateus had too much to drink, and the Warrior helped him back to his hotel room, before leaving.

On the Pale Coast, the Warrior meets up with a familiar face: His eternal rival, his other half, his friend -- Garland. The meeting takes an unexpected turn as the two discuss fate's hold on them, and they begin to spar as they once had long ago.

Returning to Torensten after his soul cleansing meeting with Garland, the Warrior of Light immediately searches for those who need help. He finds a posting about a young girl who needs rescuing, and joins the mission of a man named Caius.

While in Torensten, the Warrior runs into an unexpected, familiar face: Mateus. The two speak for a long time about who they really are, and what they've been doing. The longer they speak, the more emotionally unbalanced and drained they become -- yet find solace in one another.
