Is this just a dream?
if only i knew what my heart was telling me.
The nuances of this world were still something Aerith was learning. She could not sense this world's Lifestream, if it even had one. And she could not hear the planet, its flowers and creatures, speak to her. It also meant that whatever inkling of a feeling she had of Chaos was gone. And so, she did not realize it was Vincent who was following her until the cloaked figure came into her view.
"Vincent!" she exclaimed, her finger still pointing at him. Only now she was peppy, bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet. It was a familiar face! Well, another familiar face, as she had met Tseng, but Vincent was higher up on the tiers of those she'd want to see. Despite his broody, quiet nature. Aerith smiled briefly before letting her arms fall gently to her sides. It seemed he was just as clueless as she was.
"Now that I know it's you, I'm okay," she started, his apology accepted. "We're in a town called Provo, on a planet called Zephon, I think. It's... not home, I know that for sure." She took a step away from the door frame and closer to him, smiling gently up at him. "Other than that, I dunno much else."

About
Age / 22 [break] Occupation / Florist [break] Sexuality / Pansexual [break] App / Here [break] [break] Aerith comes from a timeline in which Sephiroth succeeded in killing her, and in that instant that the Masamune struck her, she was whisked away to Zephon. She has a scar to remind her of that incident, and sometimes feels phantom pains but it is slowly going away. Aerith also has lost her connection to the planet, since this new world lacks a Lifestream... So she's both physically and emotionally lost. [break][break] She's currently in Provo, trying to gain a sense of normalcy by growing flowers, since she knows she's good at that, at least...
It was a beautiful sunny day with pleasant weather, which meant Aerith did not want to be cooped up inside. Even if it was raining, she probably wouldn't be inside anyway. Zephon was a new place to explore, with new freedoms she had never imagined she could have, and there was a lot left for her to discover. And besides! She had to hold out hope that her friends could possibly be here too, right? If what Tseng and anyone else that gave her the time of day were right in their theories, then anything was possible.[break][break]
Today, Aerith set her sights on exploring parts of the city that were not the city's center. Too many times she had tried to be noticed in those crowds, it just wasn't worth the frustration of being ignored! She hadn't found a nice routine to settle into yet, much like the one she had back in Midgar. If she could find a plot of soil to begin growing flowers, maybe she could bring some familiarity to Provo. It was a goal she kept on the back of her mind.[break][break]
Aerith's wanderings eventually brought her to the Woodland Zoo, from which she could hear the calls of animals and other creatures before she even turned the corner. Curiosity, but also a bit of resentment brought her closer to the attraction. She couldn't help but think about all of the creatures that Hojo experimented on, inside test tubes and containers, living terrible lives in a prison.[break][break]
But the more she wandered on, and saw how large the enclosures were, and how many of the animals sprawled lazily underneath the shade of real trees, the more she came to maybe accept this sort of thing.[break][break]
Aerith approached a railing and leaned against it, standing slightly up on her tip-toes. "Hey in there," she called to a pair of young coeurl kits, "Do you like your home? They're not mean to you here, are they?"

Is this just a dream?
if only i knew what my heart was telling me.
The flinch did not go unnoticed, and Aerith pulled her hand away. It was just one of the ways she knew to comfort someone, but she also knew that not everyone enjoyed a physical touch. Cloud had been that way. He always looked so awkward when she tried to grab his arm, or pull him along for a walk. But this... wasn't that, was it? Ignis had apparently gone through something traumatic, and very painful, to have the kinds of injuries that he had. Aerith's heart sank, inwardly she frowned but she tried not to convey it in her voice. "Here, drink some water," she offered softly, lifting a cup from the bedside table and handing it over. "I'm going to touch you with the glass, so you know where it is, okay? Please don't be scared," she reassured, nudging him softly with the cool glass. "Believe me when I say you're safe now, Ignis." Could he see at all? Could he see the smile she desperately tried to comfort him with?
Whether he had taken the cup or refused, Aerith sank back against the chair she sat in. "We're in a clinic in Provo. I'm not exactly sure. I've only been here for a few days." Aerith looked around the room, taking in the sterile feeling of it all. Had it been a bit darker, it would have reminded her of the sterile environments of the Shinra labs. Gross. At least there were windows here to let in some natural light. Aerith moved to the window, trailing her hand along the edge of the bedsheets to remind him of her location in the room. She didn't want to startle him again, after all.
She pushed the curtains back to reveal a sunny day outside. The streets were still busy as the afternoon wore on, and she smiled with a sigh as she turned back to Ignis. "Do you remember what happened to you? You were... are, pretty beat up."

[attr="class","dorado2"]Hearing that Tseng hadn't seen anyone else was a bit disheartening, but with his answer also came a bit of hope. She had no idea the size of this place, so maybe, just maybe, her friends could be here. Tseng was here, wasn't he? She had to hold on to the idea of a reunion with Cloud, Tifa, Barret, everyone...
His last memory being the Temple of the Ancients meant he... probably didn't see what happened to everyone else... To her. It was a relief, in a way, something she wouldn't have to explain away so she brushed on past those feelings. What made the moment even happier was the news of Shinra being no more. No more experiments on her or anyone else, no more being followed! She could have jumped for joy, only... she knew the reality of her new situation was not going to be that easy.
"My freedom..." she breathed as she looked up to the sky. She had felt this way before, somewhat. When she escaped Midgar with her friends. How the sky looked so daunting, and so vast. How afraid she was to leave everything she had ever known. She had claimed the missed the steel sky, the plate above her head, but that was soon replaced by the feeling of gentle rain. Rain. Rain without smoke or dirt. Her fear melted away with the gentle rain and with her friends by her side, the world didn't seem so terrible a place.
But now she was alone, or at least with Tseng. The sky didn't look any different than home, yet she knew it was entirely different. "I dunno, she shrugged, bringing her gaze back to his. "Same thing as always, I guess. I'll probably start by finding a place to stay. Know of anywhere?"

fate and destiny are no guarantee
still i hope someday you'll come and find me
Concerned emerald eyes continued to watch Yugiri and her body language, looking for any sign or indication that her healing had worked, even if a little! She still wasn't quite sure what all she could do in this new place, since she could no longer feel the Lifestream or its pull. She could only guess that her half-Cetra heritage helped out a bit with casting magic without having materia. However she was able to do it, however this world worked, she was glad it did work!
Feeling somewhat relieved by seeing the blood at least stopping, Aerith sat back on her knees, though soon blinked in light confusion at the woman's question. "Elezen?" she repeated, pointing to herself. "What's an Elezen? I'm not that, whatever it is. My name's Aerith!" She offered a smile, now getting to her feet. After dusting the dirt from her light pink dress, she stooped over the scaled woman and nodded. "Right, you can lean on me!"
To get out of here was definitely something Aerith wanted to do. And she silently agreed that those wolves would probably come back, her little flashy show didn't exactly hurt or kill them. Aerith offered a hand to Yugiri, and braced herself for however the woman was going to take the help.
"Just one thing, though..." Aerith glanced around briefly. "How do we get out of here? And... Where do we go?" She had only just arrived in Zephon, and was told to simply follow the dirt path. But now that she had strayed from it to help Yugiri... Aerith was just a tad bit lost.

The unfortunate feeling of being watched wasn't unfamiliar to Aerith. It was a result of her half-Cetran heritage, and her importance to the Shinra company, when they decided she'd be of use to them again. While she did experience moments of peace, living a quiet life with her adoptive mother Elmyra, the veil would quickly be shattered when she'd spot a black-suited individual lurking about Sector 5. Sometimes they were obvious, other times Aerith could easily forget there was one tailing her without stepping into broad daylight.
But here on Zephon, in Provo, filled with busy and bustling streets, having the sense of being followed made the hair on the back of her neck stand up.
Tseng had assured her that the goal of the TURKS did not transfer over to Zephon. She was free to live her life, truly free, so why did it still feel like she was being followed?
Aerith kept her warm smile upon her lips as she walked through the market, making it seem as if she was fine and none the wiser. But behind those emerald eyes, she was a bit worried. But her worry never showed, and this brunette had a plan!
Her pace quickened as she weaved through the crowds, never once turning to look behind her. Only forward, she must continue forward! Her pink ribbon and braided plait bobbed as she paced by the stalls. What a shame, some of the wares looked so cute! If she made it out alive, she'd have to go back and take a peek!
Aerith finally made a pivoting turn as the crowd seemed to be at its highest. She disappeared down a small side street, and quickly ducked into the frame of a doorway. When she finally heard a set of footsteps approaching, their pace unlike the rest of the people who passed, she popped out of her hiding spot and pointed in the general direction.
"Hey!" she furrowed her brow slightly, "What's wrong with you, following a lady around?"

Among some of the muffled voices outside of the room, he might hear the concerned questions a worried brunette would spout. Was he going to be okay? Do they know what happened to him? Do they know who he is?
The poor healer was being pelted with questions, but Aerith wouldn't stop. She had to help, she had to. Her poor heart couldn't feel the pain of failing to help someone, even if they were a stranger. Not again...
She had been wandering the streets of Provo, getting a bearing on her new surroundings. It was a busy, bustling street but yet it seemed to lonely. Interactions were purely transactional, despite Aerith's attempts at small talk with the local fruit vendor. But there was always another customer waiting, and a hand would shoo her away.
The young woman sat down on a step and began to snack on an apple she had just bought. Her emerald eyes scanned the crowd, wantingly, sadly, hoping for someone to take notice of her.
But no one had taken notice of that man, stumbling against the side of the wall, fumbling for his next step.
Her basket of fruits spilled out among the street as she rushed to his aid.
------------
When the nurse had finally taken enough of the barrage, she hurried away from Aerith. Her lips pursed in mild annoyance, and she turned to look through the small window on the door. Gasping softly, she saw his attempts to sit up and she hurried inside.
"Hey, don't move so much," she sank down in a chair beside him, her hands hovering over his arm. A gentle pat and she smiled, "You're safe now. I'm so happy I found you when I did. You were so badly hurt." Aerith looked over his cuts and scars. "You'll make it through... That's what the nurse said, so don't worry!" The twinge of sadness left her voice as she peppily pat his arm, careful to avoid his injuries.
"I'm Aerith, by the way," she smiled with a reassuring squeeze. Inspecting him made her realize that there was probably more to his injuries that what showed on the surface. And his eyes ... His eyes looked so bad. But she couldn't say that to him!

[attr="class","dorado2"]Maybe Tseng wasn't the worst person to run into on her first venture into Provo. He already had answers for her, which didn't surprise her at all. He was a responsible Turk, he gathered information for a living and when he explained they were in an entirely different world, not Gaia, Aerith let her smile fade away. "Zephon..." she repeated, "Are any of the others here?" By others, she would hope he would know who she meant. Saying their name and them not being around would hurt too much. She had to have hope.
His question brought a flash of a memory to her mind, one that she tried to suppress and keep back with a question of her own. "What do you remember?" Inquisitive eyes studied him briefly, wondering if his wound had healed, like hers felt it had. The memory was a bit foggy, but she could infer what had happened to her... How she wasn't able to change her fate in the end. Aerith put on a cheeky smile and shrugged lightly. "I remember not being here, that's for sure. I do remember being free. Is that something I'll still have here? My freedom?"
She had to wonder if he was going to continue his Turk-ish ways. Or would she have to look over her shoulders again?

[attr="class","dorado2"]A breathy sigh escapes her lips as she realizes her little tactic worked, and the wolves ran away. There was enough blood shed, she could tell by the stained clothes of the young woman, and she was glad she didn't have to resort to any more violence. The injured lady seemed tired, more hurt than she had anticipated, and now she was on edge. As she shouted at Aerith, she quickly jutted out from the cover of the woods.
"Friend! I'm a friend!" she called quickly, lifting her arms to signify her innocence. "May I come closer?" It was an empty question, because the brunette was already making her way over sticks and rocks to get to the injured woman. She gasped softly once she realized the extent of the injuries Yugiri had sustained, and she knelt down beside her. "Don't move, okay?"
She figured if she could cast Tempest, she could also try and heal... Aerith put her stave beside her and clasped her hands together. A soothing warm light would emit from her hands, which then floated down to Yugiri. The woman would feel a tingle, and the pain would slowly disappear... Or she hoped. "Please let this work..." Aerith pleaded to whatever spirits this world had. The Lifestream was nowhere to be sensed, but she hoped that somewhere, somehow, perhaps it would lend her its gifts.
Her eyes cracked open to peek at the woman, the sight of blood still unnerving. "How are you feeling? Did that help at all?"
