year 5, quarter 3
Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.
Year 1 With the signing of a ceasefire between the warring nations of Sonora and Torensten, the world of Zephon has finally found peace. However, the sages foretell of a great shift on the horizon as written by the stars.
Jan 2015 - June 2015Quarter 1Rumors of strange phenomena reach the cities. They tell of unidentified lights in the wilderness, of unusual monster activities, and of a mysterious people capable of impossible feats of strength and magic. These people, now called Outlanders, seem to have no idea where they are, how they got there, or at times their own identities. These rumors are yet to be confirmed.
July 2015 - Dec 2015Quarter 2More so-called Outlanders wander into the cities, causing a stir of unease and distrust. A particularly violent attack on the guards of an ancient hero's tomb raises fears that the new strangers might pose a threat to Zephon's people and nations. Tales of legendary feats abound.
Jan 2016 - June 2016Quarter 3These new warriors are revealed as both heroes and villains as a great demon known only as Chaos descends upon the city of Torensten. Four Outlanders are instrumental in the demon's defeat even as others take the opportunity to slaughter fleeing civilians. The disaster leaves the city in ruin. Casualties are high.
July 2016 - Dec 2016Quarter 4Helpful forces aid the ruined city with rescue efforts and disaster relief. The traumatic event births a great unease over the future. The demon seems a herald of a new age of unrest and destruction. As many of the new arrivals are as praised as they are feared.
Year 2 As the first year comes to an end, it becomes clear that the travelers are here to stay. The world must adjust to their influences, both for good and ill.
Jan 2017 - June 2017Quarter 1Hardly a season has passed before Torensten is struck by ever more catastrophe. It's discovered that the city was built upon the ancient Dragon's Gate, a seal that has kept hundreds of draconic beasts dormant in the castle's subterranean tunnels. A scheming sorcerer manages to break the seal, releasing a swarm of frenzied dragons upon the city and the world at large.
July 2017 - Dec 2017Quarter 2The dragons take flight across the nations of Torensten and Provo, preying upon small villages that don't have the means to repel their attacks. Meanwhile, the world is besieged by a plague of natural disasters dubbed the Reignstorm which takes as many lives as the marauding monsters. The people are desperate -- the heroes, exhausted.
Jan 2018 - June 2018Quarter 3Activated by the Reignstorm, a legendary warrior's tomb awakens with a burst of light streaking into the sky. Sensing a disturbance, three teams of Outlanders infiltrate the tower. They are met with the spirit of the fallen warrior, now corrupted by darkness. He warns of an evil which will soon return to Zephon and of the Fiends which will see its will done.
July 2018 - Dec 2018Quarter 4In response to the ongoing catastrophes, great heroes begin to organize and plan their counter-offenses. Most notable is the founding of the Dragonblades, an organization dedicated to their fight against bandits, monsters, and anything else which might threaten their new home. For a brief moment, it seems there might be some hope for Zephon after all.
Year 3 With their illusory peace shattered, a desperate world wonders what could possibly come next. They cling to their saviors, their religions, and their own fearful bigotry. Zephon will never be the same.
Jan 2019 - June 2019Quarter 1The city of Metaia, a scholarly haven and trade route to Aljana, falls. Its end comes suddenly as the earth is sapped of life and zombies emerge from the temple's catacombs in a great, ghastly horde. The city is quickly overrun, and even as heroes purify the earth crystal and defeat the great fiend of earth, Metaia is abandoned to its fate -- a desolated and deathly ruin.
July 2019 - Dec 2019Quarter 2Over a year has passed since Torensten's last disaster, and the city has worked tirelessly for its restoration. In celebration of its recovery, the noblemen throw an elaborate masquerade, inviting all manner of interesting players to their game. To everyone's surprise, the night ends without any kind of catastrophe.
Jan 2020 - June 2020Quarter 3While establishments in Provo try to raise spirits by hosting meet-ups and dating events, the city of Sonora faces its first Outlander-related crises. These include attacks by robotic houses and assaults on city guards by helicopter pilots, deadly swordsmen, a sharp-shooter, and a medieval knight. This prompts a rise in militarism and distrust in the city.
July 2020 - Dec 2020Quarter 4Torensten's full restoration is completed in time for a two-week long hurricane resulting in deadly floods and the annihilation of the port city's entire harbor. An expedition of four ships is sent to defeat the Kraken and purify the water crystal, but only two make it to their destination. After great tragedy and trauma, the heroes emerge victorious and return to a city still reeling from its latest disaster.
Year 4 Zephon has become accustomed to its new status quo, but that doesn't mean it's any less mistrusting. Endless disaster has forged a survivor's mindset in many, and there's a rising dread that the worst is yet to come.
Jan 2021 - June 2021Quarter 1Across Zephon, devastating clashes between Outlanders shake the confidence of the world's people. A fight between three supersoldiers in Provo destroys the main town square while in Torensten, the Dragonblades are faced with a dangerous enemy who slaughters their recruits in search of a worthy battle. Even still, other adventurers prepare expeditions into the Metaia Temple and World Sight ruins seeking to uncover secrets long buried and forgotten.
July 2021 - Dec 2021Quarter 2A meeting at Provo's famed Moonwhisper Manor goes awry when the estate's owner, Jules de Lune, was found murdered in his own ballroom and the staff were turned to monsters. No arrests were made after the manor was set aflame, destroying all evidence of wrongdoing. Suspicions of Outlanders and Provo's nobility both rose in turn at claims of the horrifying experiments performed within the manor's walls.
Jan 2022 - June 2022Quarter 3This quarter was surprisingly, and welcomingly, quiet. New alliances were born, and new rivalries were forged. Scars from conflicts past dotted the landscapes and cities, never allowing denizens of the world or the visitors to forget what they had gone through, and allowing the Heroes that protected the people the conviction to stand up to whatever threats lie in wait.
July 2022 - Dec 2022Quarter 4Historians and scholars had been recording the conflicts involving and caused by the Outlanders over the past few years. The demon rising in Torensten, the Dragon's Gate being breached, the Reignstorm raging across the land. The Undead had risen, and a Kraken had threatened the ports and shores of the vast land. Adventure sprouts wherever the Outlanders go, and this relatively peaceful year has seen plenty of adventurers spring forth into the frontier. But peace is never permanent, and the world waits with bated breath for whatever may emerge.
Year 5 A year without large scale disaster has put some at ease while others grow more wary of conflicts between Outlanders destroying their homes and livelihoods instead. Outlanders have become both a pillar of Zephon's communities and a constant and notable threat. No one knows when the next disaster might strike.

Below is a set of rules specific to each game. This is a running list to answer frequently asked questions and will be updated as we hear more questions in the Staff Help channel of the Discord. For information on summon rules, see the summon lore page here.
FFI:
All FFI party members other than the Dissidia Warrior of Light will be considered OCs.
Party member OCs do not have to conform to the same timeline. As such, different instances of monks / red mages / black mages / ect of Light can exist simultaneously on Zephon.
The Warrior of Light from Dissidia and another Fighter / Warrior of Light can coexist from different timelines
Jack Garland from Strangers of Paradise and an FF1 based Garland can coexist
Crystal wielders from Strangers of Paradise will have access to two of the classes they can learn in the game that they can switch between at will.
Darkness related forms will be off limits to the characters from Strangers of Paradise
FFII:
An FFII character can have one mastered skill with two proficient skills to complement it. I.E: Master with swords, proficient with black magic and staffs; Master with white magic, proficient with black magic and bows.
An FFII character can bring as many weapons as they are proficient in assuming that they can physically carry them.
FFIII & FFV & FF10-2:
To balance unlimited job switching, all classes can be accessed, but not all will be mastered. Pick one to specialize in and two others to be proficient in. All other classes will be considered novice.
Job switching is considered a kind of hammer-space, and these characters can bring one equipment set for each proficient class.
If a character is proficient in the summoner class, that character can be bonded to one lesser spirit summon.
FFVI:
FFVI party members can have one magicite equipped and brought with them to Zephon. This magicite will not summon an esper, but will give access to its spells.
As it is almost certain that the FFVI party member has learned spells from previous magicite, they can arrive with magic already learned.
As magicite and magical prowess are incredibly rare in FFVI, OCs cannot have learned it. They will also not bring their own magicite.
FFVII:
There is no materia available on Zephon except for what is brought on person. Five materia can be brought total.
Up to two materia can be mastered.
Characters can be bonded to one lesser spirit summon per summon materia carried.
Fusion materia from Crisis Core will not be allowed
If your character is fused with the materia or fused with a summon (IE. Elfe + Zirconade or Weiss + Omega), be aware that those summons don’t exist on Zephon and neither does their power.
FFVIII:
Any GFs already junctioned by characters will continue to be junctioned here. Only one junction may be summoned. It must be a lesser spirit summon.
Any FFVIII character can draw magic from enemies. However, please make these draws reasonable and appropriate!
FFX:
Any dead characters are revived to their living forms. Neither pyreflies nor the Farplane exist on Zephon.
An FFX character will have access to abilities from their default sphere grid as well as one of the grids that they were likely to break into after completing their first.
FFXI:
OC characters will have access to two active jobs.
FFXII:
The license board will be limited to the classes defined in Zodiac Age. A character can take two classes as defined in the Zodiac Age.
FFXIII:
FFXIII characters taken from the original game can switch to their three default paradigms roles at will. No additional paradigm roles may be accessed.
Original character l'cie will have access to up to three paradigms as defined in the game.
L'cie will not have access to their eidolons on Zephon. All other abilities and magic will be available.
FFXIV:
The dimensional shifts between worlds is unpredictable and often causes lapses between timelines. There can be multiple Warriors of Light on Zephon.
A Warrior of Light does not have access to the Echo on Zephon
The level of Aether on Zephon is too low to support Aether-triggered Primal forms
A Warrior of Light can have access to only one active job.
Previous prerequisite jobs to the active job will be considered low-level. These should be used primarily for fighting style flair without a significant increase in power level. I.E. - A pugilist that becomes a black mage might have self-defense experience. They would not be a martial artist master that can also blow up mountains.
By the nature of power creep in MMOs, characters from recent expansions are basically at the power level of a full sphere grid Yuna who can 1MP doublecast Ultima without a damage limit. We don't allow a 100% completionist Yuna, and we ask that you reasonably limit your WoL. If your OC red mage can cast what is considered master spells in other games (i.e. - Ultima, Flare, Holy) and also hit like a tank then you need to weaken that character.
Original Characters and WoL's from XIV can still retain their memories of interactions with FF canons, but those canons are considered "alternate universe" counterparts to the original canon.
The AU Final Fantasy canons from XIV cannot be apped, nor can their history be included in the original canon's history. Only characters from XIV can be aware of these AU versions of Original Final Fantasy Canons.
WoL's cannot come to Zephon with any clothing/weapons/vehicles from any original Final Fantasy canon character.
FFXV:
Those with the Power Of Kings (Lucian bloodline members and Kingsglaive) can hold and summon up to four weapons from their glaive. Items such as potions and other equipment do not count towards this limit.
Power of Kings users can Warp Strike, Point Warp, Protect, and Phase.
Those of the royal bloodline have access to the Fire, Blizzard, Lightning and Cure spells up to their second stage. They may either cast the third stage variants of these spells or mix them with the effects of Poison, Stop, Esuna, Temper and Dia using components created via elemancy. Ardyn has his own spells and abilities instead.
Kingsglaive gain access to four of the following spells: Fire, Blizzard, Lightning, Cure, Dia, Poison, Esuna, Temper. These spells can be cast at the second level. One mastered spell can be cast at the third level.
The Armiger can only be used by those of the royal bloodline. Because of Zephon's distance from Eos' crystal, doing so will significantly drain the user. Armiger Unleashed will immediately send the user into Stasis when it expires.
As they have been granted the Power of Kings, Prompto, Gladiolus and Ignis follow the same rules as Kingsglaive. While they lack the training required to Warp, they may obtain this through roleplay.
FFXVI:
Dominants can keep their magic and semi-primed states, and can regain these abilities even if they are taken from a point where these have been lost. However, as writing summons is not allowed on Adventu, they will not be able to fully prime into their eikons.
Clive Rosfield will be treated as any other dominant, having access to only his own inherent abilities through the blessing of the Phoenix and the power of Ifrit. He cannot take power away from other dominant characters.
As a non-sentient wolf, Torgal cannot be applied for independently. However, if Torgal was present at the time that Clive was brought to Zephon, he may be brought with Clive and written by the same writer. Torgal will retain any abilities in game.
Whether or not a magic-using character suffers the effects of the curse is up to each individual writer. However, as no instances of Ultima may be carried to Zephon (see restrictions on god characters above), Joshua's specific wound would be healed.
Dominants may not create egi on Zephon. A singular instance of an existing egi can be brought to Zephon like any other character, however.
Dissidia:
Characters do not retain their memories of the Dissidia cycles once crossing over into Zephon. They will not recall their interactions with the characters of other Final Fantasy games.
What can be used from Dissidia: A feeling about being trapped in strange cycles, move sets/weapons (since this is important especially for the earlier Final Fantasy characters!), and expanded history for the Warrior of Light and Garland.
These include God Kefka, Trance Kuja, Safer Sephiroth, Chaos, and basically every final boss form. Any potentially world-ending state for characters will only be allowed with permission from the staff under special circumstances and would likely be cause for a site-wide event.
Literal Gods
Characters such as Necron, Yevon, any of the fal'cie, Ultima, and the Dissidia deities are off-limits as they are literal, actual gods in their worlds. Some of them exist to bring the world back to nothing. Others can craft kaiju monsters out of the tortured souls of the dead. None of them should be played unless by a staff member for an event.
Gentiana
While we were hoping that the expanded lore that came out for FFXV would nerf Gentiana's current state a bit, the fact of the matter is that she is still very much a god in disguise with all the powers of the Glacian at her fingertips. As much as we'd love to have her riddle-y dialogue, we can't go against our own rules stating 'no summons/gods allowed'.
Jenova
While Jenova isn't technically a god, she is a ridiculously powerful force with no canon personality who can take the shape of whatever she wants and control people from inside of them. While a Jenova version of Sephiroth will be allowed as he's shown to be his own entity, Jenova herself is restricted.
Remedi/Li-Grim
Although for most of Remedi's appearance in the dream Ivalice she appears as the Queen and new fictional mother of Mewt, after her initial defeat it is revealed she is actually the sixth Totema, Li-Grim. Li-Grim is the manifestation of all who wish for the Dream Ivalice to continue on and the maker of it. Without the wishes of these people Li-Grim would not be able to exist as her power is tied to those wishes and Remedi turns out to be a form not a vessel of the goddess.
Arecia Al-Rashia
Though the self-proclaimed "mother" of Akademia's Type Zero appears to be nothing more than the head of Sorcery, she's actually an immortal fal'cie tasked with ending and rebirthing the world in order to open Etro's Gate. As this makes her a literal god, she's restricted.
ALLOWED WITH LIMITATIONS:
Ultimecia
Ultimecia is a witch that has transferred her conscious back in time from centuries using the Junction Machine Ellone to possess Edea. Ultimecia needs the real Ellone to junction backwards from that point in history. Even if Ultimecia and Ellone should meet in Zephon, Ultimecia could only travel back to the most recent witch, which could be her, Adel, Edea, or Rinoa based in time they came from. Therefore, Ultimecia could never obtain Time Compression in Zephon since she there are no witches in the future or past except those mentioned.
Gilgamesh (FF5)
Gilgamesh will only be allowed in his original, FF5 form. In this form he hasn't reached any godlike status and isn't some all-powerful being (though he'll tell you otherwise) that can leap through dimensions to slash you to oblivion with his wonderfully shiny collection. He's just a regular, enthusiastic swordsman. All other forms of Gilgamesh will remain restricted.
Gilgamesh (FF15)
FF15's version of Gilgamesh is a completely separate character from FF5's version that has been given a history and lore in subsequent DLC and expanded media. A human version of Gilgamesh taken from the era of the Founder King is playable. His undead form met by Gladiolus is not.
Ardyn Izunia
Though Ardyn is immortal and wields corrupted daemon blood with the power of Lucian kings, he himself doesn't have any world-destroying powers and he's lost in one-on-one fights to both Noctis and Ignis. He also has a severe weakness to purifying magic, and is only strictly immortal given the influence of Bahamut. With these weaknesses in mind and without his immortality, Ardyn will be allowed.
Caius Ballad
Caius Ballad is over-powered, but his power comes entirely from Valhalla and the Historia Crux which he'd have no access to on this site. For that reason, his most egregious powers would be locked away. A Caius without access to said power would be more than welcomed, however.
Exdeath
Exdeath will be allowed so long as he does not have access to his inter-dimensional powers and cannot open the Rift. Since the Rift as it's known in FF5 does not exist in Zephon, and Exdeath could only open portals to it in FF5 thanks to a long quest involving shattering crystals and merging worlds, those powers are void (pun intentional) on Zephon. However, Exdeath as a dangerous and formidable warlock will be allowed.
Cloud of Darkness
Just like Exdeath, it can be argued that the Cloud of Darkness can't reach any of her world-destroying powers outside of the world of darkness. As long as the Cloud of Darkness manifests in a mortal form without the ability to destroy the world, she / they will be allowed.
Stella Nox Fleuret
While Versus XIII was never turned into a full game, enough information and lore has been released on the cancelled game for someone to reasonably piece together a character. The world of Versus XIII should be considered an alternate universe to Final Fantasy XV, and only characters original to it with enough information can be applied (so basically just Stella). Characterization should comply with released lore.
FF14 Characters with Primal Forms
As noted in the game specific rules, FF14 characters with Primal forms (i.e. - Ysayle Dangoulain) will not have access to their primal forms due to the low aether levels on Zephon. These characters will be allowed without this state.
The Ascians
From being obscenely powerful (Emet-Selch, Fandaniel) to being literal gods (Elidibus) to having various overpowered forms (Lahabrea, Igeyorhm), the Ascians and their Ancient Amaurotine counterparts are simply too overpowered to allow on our forum unaltered. However if a writer thinks of a way to depower them (or they're already one of the weaker Ascians) then we will work with that member until the character is acceptable!
1. First and foremost, please have respect for guests, members, and staff that are on the site. We're here to have fun and write! There is zero tolerance for any bashing/disrespect, discriminate/lewd remarks, or any unnecessary tension.
2. We'd like to keep this a positive environment, and as such, will not tolerate unsolicited criticism of other members' writing styles or character accuracy.
3. This site is rated PG-13/T for Teen, as is most Final Fantasy games. Square Enix did just fine without any explicit scenes or unnecessary overuse of strong language (though it's tolerated in small amounts), so both in and out of character, keep the Adult-Only stuff off site.
4. If you have any questions at all, please contact Fin, Lala, or Josh or post in the Staff Questions channel, and please give us at least 48 hours after sending your Discord message to get back to you! If one of us doesn't get back to you by then, or you see another one of us in the Discord, do not hesitate to ask.
5. Dirty laundry should be aired in the backyard, not in the Discord. If someone upsets you, insults you, or otherwise irks you in any way, don't hesitate to go to them off site and talk it over. Also keep Negative-Nancy subjects out of the general chat as much as possible. Obviously if you talk about your bad day when people ask, no big deal. Just don't go being negative all the time for the sake of being negative. Discord bans can and will happen if someone comes in and starts bringing people down.
RP RULES:
1. Firstly, have fun. Don't take IC interactions too seriously. We're literally writing about a game!
2. Godmodding/Powerplaying/Deus Ex Machina/Meta Gaming are all no-no's. You play your character. You are not the main character and you certainly aren't playing anyone invincible or all-knowing.
3. We know that fights will break out. If you have a skirmish between characters, plot it out. If you had seen our character applications, we do not require a list of attacks. Now, this does not mean that skirmishes and brawls won't be looked over by staff to ensure there is no breaking of Rule 2 in any way. Please speak to staff before causing world-altering damage (or blowing up Torensten again).
4. If a character is dropped then they disappear from Zephon and all memory of them may slowly fade. Any future incarnations of this character will therefore not carry on any plot lines or relationships from previous incarnations unless otherwise decided between the two members.
5. All characters must post once per month or receive an inactive status which removes reservations on the character. An inactive character can be reinstated by posting with that character once and then alerting a staff member. Inactive characters are added to a specific Inactive group and can still post without restrictions.
6. If a member needs to go on hiatus for any reason, they can post a Leave of Absence notice to have their Activity Check requirements extended. A member on Leave of Absence can still post with their characters without ending the Leave of Absence. A Leave of Absence notice will cover three consecutive activity checks before it expires.
APPLYING:
1. You'll find the templates that will be used when applying for Original and Canon characters from the Final Fantasy Universes under the 'Starting Out' tab on the banner of the site. The process is self explanatory, just follow the directions on the form, right? So, you're going along and you come to the RP sample. Here's the bonus: if you already have a character accepted, you're exempt from the RP sample.
2. You may start with two characters to apply for. After both of those characters have 15 posts, you may app a 3rd. Then once that one gets 15, you can app another. So-on, so-forth.
3. All Original characters must be from a canon Final Fantasy world.
4. The worlds we consider 'canon' on FF:A are those listed in the Canon List shown under the 'Basic' tab on the banner of the site.
5. Our usual acceptable word count for a good post is generally 300 words. We'll sway on either sides of that number if needed). For those who are applying for their first character, please try to maintain this average when making your RP sample, and include some colored text for dialogue.
6. It is pretty much a given for your character to have some memory issues in regards once they've been pulled from their world to Zephon. Memory loss can span from days, to years, to the entirety of their lives and should be considered normal when being yanked through time and space. If memory loss isn't your thing, don't worry about it! It's not a requirement, just a plot device!
7. You can apply from any point in a character's timeline. Want to give pre-insanity Sephiroth a go? Go for it! Evil Kain Highwind? You have the option! Clarify in your history which point in the timeline you're having your character start out at.
8. For both OCs and Canons, only one staff member will be required for a review and acceptance, barring any points of contention that said administrator has about the application. For the best info about the character, you can always visit The Final Fantasy Wiki and search for your character. For those of use that don't know much about the character you're apping, we'll likely cross reference your application with this Wiki source for accuracy (though, the Wiki has proven to not be 100% accurate all the time).
9. Please, please, PLEASE do not plagiarize. Do not copy-pasta. Do not copy from other applications from other sites. Write it in your words. However, in the instance that you have an accepted app of the character available elsewhere that's yours, feel free to use it, but notify staff of your source and link us to the app for verification.
10. Every character must have its own account with the character's name as its display name. Multiple accounts can be linked under one email address, just click on the "Switch Accounts" button on the bottom right of the screen when logged into a first account and click "Create a new account on this forum."
11. All character accounts must have a 150 x 150 avatar image that you can upload in the Profile --> Edit Profile section. We also require a 250 x 350 cover image which can be linked in the Profile --> Edit Profile section. If you have any issues with image resizing, hosting, or linking please reach out to staff and let us help!
12. There are two classes of summons -- old gods and lesser spirits. Canon and OC summoner characters can choose to be bonded to either one old god summon or two lesser spirit summons. Other characters can expend one job class proficiency, materia slot, or junction to bond to a lesser spirit summon. See further rules, lore, and availability for the Zephon summons here.
13. Characters can bring up to two weapons, one set of armor (where applicable and visible on the character), and one accessory in their equipment. Any further game specific equipment (i.e. - materia) should follow the Game Specific rules set below. Characters do not have access to hammer space unless it's part of their character abilities and so cannot bring more than they can carry. Equipment is physically present and must be reflected on the character.
14. Equipment follows practical, in-world rules rather than strict in-game stats. A sword is going to rip your flesh no matter what its stats are. Unless the equipment has a specific property associated with it, don't worry about game mechanics.
15. All equipment is up for individual review. Please try to keep your choices reasonable! Legendary equipment that kills things instantly or reduces damage to zero for instance will be rejected.
16. Any spell which instantly ends a fight (Death, X-Zone, ect) are prohibited from use.
RESTRICTED:

I'm happy to announce that we have our first batch of questions and answers! If one of your questions hasn't been answered yet, don't worry! That just means that it requires a tad more deliberation from our staff! Without further adieu, here's some more lore for you lore nuts out there!
From "That Guy":
Can you tell us a bit more about Sonora’s ruling council? I know it’s run by a government and corporations, how does it work? Sonora's government is a corporate oligarchy meaning that it has a council run entirely by the CEOs of major companies. These six CEOs were chosen by the current "democratically elected" president Illode Kyre who also happens to be the CEO of the Sonoran National Yanovich Company. The council's interests are represented by the government in return for support for the president and keeping him in power indefinitely. The council includes the CEOs of Happy Burger, Petrov Lumberworks, and Purity Pharmaceuticals among others that I'm sure our members can help flesh out!
What is the difference between Provo and Sonora’s vehicles? Sonora's vehicles are high tech. You'll see hover cars in the capital as well as public transport options such as subways and buses. Buses are also the most common option for travel between the capital and the many train stations which connect the rest of the country. They also commonly reach the Provoan border, but due to international regulations, will only drop off passengers at the checkpoint and then return to Sonora. Once at the checkpoint, passengers can reach the capital of the Provoan territories either by chocobo or by offering some gil to the truck drivers that make their living ferrying travelers across the bumpy and often unpaved rural roads. While Sonora is in a tense trade agreement with Provo, government restrictions keep them from exporting anything that runs on Diamond Dust which is just about everything cool. Provoan locals have made do with metal scraps and outdated engines though most don't see much of a need. The vast majority of the country is made up rural farmlands where the locals would rather keep to their chocobos than any fuel-guzzling, exhaust spewing trucks, thank you very much. Within the capital city, chocobo carts haul goods down the pedestrian heavy streets, and anyone looking for faster travel between the districts can hire a small boat captain along the city's complex canal system. Garages on the outskirts of the city house trucks that aren't in use though these vehicles are not allowed within the city proper where their treads would destroy the streets and endanger pedestrians.
Could an airship reach Aljana? There's a difference between the commonly used passenger airships that regularly fly between Torensten and Provo, the bulky warships prepped for Sonoran invasion, and the smaller, faster ships built for personal use. A smaller ship that is well-equipped for the treacherous journey past the mountains of Kahiko Valley and that has the fuel efficiency to make it over the endless expanse of the Fractured Plains could travel between Torensten and Aljana, but the pilots will charge a high price for passage.
Airships are a staple of Final Fantasy. How much would it cost for my character to obtain an airship in Torensten? Quite a lot! Unfortunately, I can't give a currency price, but I know it would be out of the price range of just about every character on site. A personal airship would also need an experienced pilot that can figure out the completely different foreign controls as well as the crystalline-based fuel and engines for maintenance. Only pilot-based characters (most Cids, Setzer, Balthier, Fran, Sahz, OC pilots, ect) would have that kind of expertise, and they'd probably be better off either receiving the airship as payment for a job with nobles or outright stealing it. Crashed or abandoned airships could also be found in various wilderness areas, but it would likewise take a mechanic or engineer with an expertise in airships to get them running again.
Are Moogles seen much outside of their forest? While the Wanderwood is the natural home of the moogles, they've spread across the world of Zephon just like anyone else! They're most likely seen in places that in touch with nature (i.e. - Kahiko Valley, Perigosa Jungle, and the Hotan Mountain Range) though communities of moogles have taken residence in even the most unlikely of places. There are swamp moogles in the Metaia Marshlands that seem to have struck a strange alliance with the local tonberries. There are cultist moogles living among the followers of the Crystal Order. There are pirate moogles on the Pale Coast and city moogles in just about every major humanoid outpost. The only places they avoid are the Headstone Forest and the Reikinto Sands which don't fit their natural dispositions one bit.
If another character did something important in my character’s story or development, but that character then goes inactive, what do I do? Here at Adventu, we want to prioritize new members getting the best experience possible without having to carry any baggage from an older version of whatever characters they want to write. That means that as soon as a new version of a character is picked up, the older version officially never existed. If a character goes inactive, it's no big deal. The member playing them might just be taking a break or might have missed an activity check or two. If a character is intentionally dropped or goes inactive for a long time, that's when things get a little trickier. So long as the character hasn't been picked up yet, your character can still think about them or even start to worry either because someone important to them is missing or because an evil character has gone a little too silent for a little too long. However, I'd suggest starting to phase out how often your characters thinks about it because the second that the dropped character is picked up again, we're wiping the slate clean. It's like the old version never existed. If your character hasn't thought about the dropped character in a long time and is in a completely new plot now then the transition will go smoother. If that's not possible, I'd suggest retconning or keeping it vague. Make it so your character actually did something entirely by themselves. Perhaps replace the old character with a native Zephon NPC that was never seen again. It's a complex issue with a lot of creative license. Feel free to ask for advice if you run into this problem in the future!
My character is a little short in the Sonora currency department but has the ability to build machines and things. Anywhere they could procure materials on the field? The Scrapyard is home to Sonora's underbelly as well as its discarded gadgets, gizmos, engines, and metal scrap galore. If a character is a known engineer, mechanic, or inventor then they should be able to find anything they might need here if they're willing to roll up their sleeves and do a bit of dumpster diving. The more complex the project, the more complex the materials needed! Not to worry, however, as the Scrapyard is also the cornerstone of Sonora's prosperous smuggling industry. With a little cash or a few favors in the right places, a character should be able to procure whatever they need -- with the added risk of putting themselves on the radar of both the Sonoran police and bands of hardened gangsters.
Does Fin have fins? Fin does not have fins, but then again, that's exactly what someone with fins would say, isn't it?
From Anonymous:
Discord groups are overwhelming for me. I know there is the plot hub and journal sections, but they don't seem to be useful for chatting and collaborating with others? Is there like a chat box for the site? Or maybe a dedicated board/location/link to show people might be open to plotting and the best way to contact them? Thank you so much for coming to us with this concern! Unfortunately, a chat box isn't something we're interested in installing at the moment, and I know from experience that a dedicated board probably wouldn't be used much. However, this got us admins talking, and we currently have a new Discord feature in the works that should help with plotting! Once unveiled, our new Discord community forum feature will allow any member to post what their character is currently doing, where they're most often seen, any current goals they might have, and who to contact for plotting. It also has an easy tagging feature which would allow anyone to see at a glance which characters are open for threads and which aren't! We'll probably be rolling out this feature in May, and I hope it solves your problem! If you don't think it will, send in another Q&A with more details or contact any staff member (Fin, Josh, Waga, Erin, Destati, or Argent) and let us know what more we could do to help!
From Argent:
Mog's Magical Village. Are the buildings of similar architecture of Solace from Dragonlance or FFIX's Black Mage Village? Are their buildings too small for players to actually go inside? Is there an inn? Is the inn too small? Have the moogles kicked out travelers in the past for asking these same questions? Mog's Magical Village is built almost entirely out of materials from the forest so I'd say it most resembles the Black Mage Village. Their housing might also be built in treetops, burrows, or inside of large hollow trees. They do have an inn as a matter of fact, but alas! Their customer base is almost entirely composed of moogles that are visiting the Wanderwood from abroad! It would be too small for all but the most determined of larger guests, but the moogles don't mind pointing humanoid travelers towards some nice wooded clearings where they can set up camp. Only the most annoying or intolerant of visitors are turned away.
Kahiko Valley. What is the Lost City's ancient, dead language based on? I have a mighty need to know now. I have gone off the deep end with dimensional hopping Lufenians for my own entertainment. It wasn't Lufenian before, but it sure is now! Or at least, let's say it's a dialect of Lufenian that might not be one to one with the Lufenian of Final Fantasy 1 and Strangers of Paradise. Any character who knows the original language should be able to recognize this dialect and decipher it with time. What does this imply? Maybe that this isn't the first time that off-world strangers have been drawn to this planet? Maybe that these technologically superior off-worlders built an entire civilization which lasted long enough to form its own dialect before meeting a sudden and mysterious end? So many questions that only the most dedicated of archaeologists, preferably with the right language skills, could solve!
I have your randomized pairs below! With some of these, I swear they were in fact random. Feel free to plot in the minor-event-chat how you want this thread to go or just jump in with the basic prompt and your partner. Have fun!
I'm giving everyone the appreciation that they rightfully deserve here. It's tough for me to single out just one person, because you all contribute to this site and make it special in a way that I can only ever dream of doing. I sincerely doubt I'll *ever* get to that level, to be honest. But you all prove that this is a community first and a roleplay second, and it's worthy of admiration. Thank you for being role models.
I want to thank everyone for being around. I won't say I've read every single thread but I do enjoy dropping in and lurk reading many of your stories and most of all, being able to chat with you in a safe space, has gotten me through different parts of my life, especially recently. Don't hesitate to approach me if you want to write something and if you're not on our Discord, I'll read PM requests too in case you like my plotter and want to write with me (you'll know who I am, I'm the second recent topic in that forum =PP )
The last few years, Adventu has become a family to me. You guys have been there for me through a rollercoaster of university, a pandemic, and many struggles with my health. You turned a froggy whim into a meme dream that found life in the site’s lore itself. When Fin said that this is very much my site, she was right and I will continue to say for years to come that this is my home. Thank you for all the years so far, and hopefully there will be many more to come.
When I was a twenty-two year old college student, I was too paralyzed by fear of inadequacy to write and I was desperately looking for an outlet. That’s when I stumbled upon baby Adventu and I took up writing here mostly so that I could geek out over my favorite characters. Since then, I’ve seen it grow so much. I’ve seen some good times and some bad times, but I always came back because this isn’t just a site for me. It’s a community. It’s a home. I can’t even begin to tell you all how much you mean to me. Even in my darkest times, I’ve known that you’re there in the Discord waiting for me to get my head on straight and giving me all the time I’d need. You all have been such a positive influence on my life, and I can honestly say that the only reason I managed to get through that writing paralyzation to keep doing what I love is because all of you have helped me and given me a place where I can write without judgment. Thank you so much. Whether you’re a veteran or entirely new, you help to give my life meaning. Thank you.
To All, Past and Present
If not for past members, there’d be no present. To the friends we gained and lost, I cherish each beat. To those who have left I hold hope that we’ll cross paths again. You all left an impact. Never forget. To those who remain, may we continue striving!
Akira
Your consistent stream of horny on main always makes me cackle. Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Which will be a day late when this is posted probably.
I was so happy to see you in chat yesterday! Happy belated birthday, Akira! I really hope to see you more and of course to write with you again. I know how life goes and sometimes writing in a roleplay site just isn’t in the cards (believe me, I’ve been there time and again), but I’ve always enjoyed writing with you and I hope to do it again soon. All the best birthday wishes and beyond!
Argent
You are so creative with your characters’ backgrounds, and I love how descriptive you are in your writing.
Argent is so fun. And most importantly, always supports my Yuffie nonsense. Thank you Argent!
Simply great! Helped me with advice a few times i needed it, and in general warm and nice to talk to ^^
I know I don’t respond much when you flood my DMs with your fascination of the day, but I’m listening I swear. Your consistent enthusiasm is infectious and you really do go the extra mile with your writing and character work.
I always see you in the chat cheering everyone on and it's always such a surge of positive energy for everyone involved. Your love of the older games gives them some much deserved love that they might not have gotten otherwise, and shined on some much deserved light.
You’re a positive influence on everyone around you. You show enthusiasm for people’s lives, their troubles, and their ideas. You’re always rooting for people when they need it and encouraging their creativity. I’m rooting for you too. How could I not after all the time we’ve been writing together, both part of this same little niche community that keeps drawing us both back? You’ve been a part of it from almost the beginning and have been a pivotal part of making it what it is today. In short, I appreciate you. Fully.
You are so sweet and so amazing and I always love all of your characters and everything you write. I hope you're always here creating and making such awesome memories with us.
Blacksuit
I know you’re not in the Discord right now, but I smile every time I see you updated something. You are so fun to plot with too!
I don't know if she will read this but I hope so. I always love writing with Black Suit, and their love of FFIX and appreciation for the depths of the lore always inspires me and makes me feel like I'm not alone (along with Fin!) in loving that game. I really admire how they can take such minor characters and turn them into such major players. Hilda is amazing.
I hope that you see this, Suit. It’s crazy how long we’ve been roleplaying together. I understand real life stress and BOY do I understand needing a break from the Discord, but I want you to know that I miss your presence there. Every time that I see a reply from you, I just smile. That hasn’t changed except that now I get to sleuth it out on the site for myself. You’ve consistently pushed my characters in ways that I didn’t think were possible. You’ve been a great writer, a great roleplay partner, and a great friend. I hope you’re doing well, and I hope you stick around or at least pop back after a break so that we can keep being creative together.
Braver
Braver's love of Final Fantasy 7 is just so infectious and always keeps me going, and making me want to write with him more and more.
Still the best Cloud the site’s seen. You understand your characters at a higher level and the complexity is always fun to experience. We’ll free Gulag Gladdy soon!
How you so perfectly capture Cloud and Gladio I don't know, but I really envy it. I love your character ideas with Bakunin, and you're also the reason I've been eyeballing getting a modded N64 off of Etsy.
You are seriously one of the funniest people I know. Also the one with the best and most compelling 90s nostalgia. Also potentially the most communist. For real though, I couldn’t ask for a better Cloud. Your muscley men might all have their big muscles in common, but they’ve all been quite different on the inside, and I’ve loved each and everyone of them. Sometimes I’m sitting here, living in this country, and I think, “You know, I could take Braver up on his idea of a roleplay commune in Canada. I could do that.” And boy. Does that ever sound tempting. Though I think we might run into arguments when forming the rules for that commune. Are we allowed to acknowledge the existence of the FF7 compilation on this commune? Asking the real questions.
You have the best ideas and seem to just live in my brain and know exactly what I'm going to pumped for. Thank you for torturing characters with me, and I can't believe we'll finally escape the Gulag this year and get these dudes a much needed vacation LMAO. But seriously, writing with you is one of my absolute favorite things to do and I'm so happy I've gotten to become friends with you. Now go buy our island already.
Destati
I love how enthusiastic you are, and Lumina’s character arc has been an absolute joy to witness.
You and I better watch it, else we might be chaotic sisters. You’ve been nothing but a breath of fresh air for the place. Your attention to detail, plot, and lore are to die for. Not to mention you’re clearly very sweet.
I of course appreciate you for the wonderful plots were able to write together, but more than that your a great friend I've known for a while now and think a lot of, Your also very understanding of the time it takes me to do my posts and i appreciate that SO much. I like to think us close friends, and im here for you anytime you need me, thank you!
Based Claire. We really only recently started to write together much, but it made me very quickly regret that we’ve been on the same site for so long without either writing or interacting much. You’ve really quickly become one of my favorite writing partners on the site, and someone I call a friend, and you’ve done a lot in shooting my muse for Adventu back into overdrive. You are absurdly creative with Claire and Lumina and the story you’ve weaved taking points from their versions past and present to have essentially Lumina, Lightning and Claire all at once while continuing old stories from the site’s onset, is nothing short of remarkable creatively. I really look forward to seeing how your stories continue to unfold.
I haven’t written with you much, but I appreciate your very presence, your optimism, your enthusiasm, your ideas, your creativity. At risk of revealing who this is, I am so pleased to have you on staff. From second one, you were so full of excitement that it made something that should have been stressful for me (finding and onboarding new moderators) into something joyful. In such a short time, you’ve already been a huge help, and I appreciate every question you ask. I appreciate how active you’ve been on the Discord and on the site – I truly can’t keep up with how much you’ve written in the past month and I respect the hell out of it. I don’t fully comprehend your deep lore FF13 plans, but I can tell it’s clever and I know that I’ll love it. And of course, I love any time that I get to break into the archives and do some sleuthing for somebody. Bringing you on staff was one of the best choices we could have made. I mean that, and I’m just so glad to have you.
You're always keeping things going and keeping it interesting. I love your use of original plots and bringing in small NPCs to help tell your stories. You practically breathe Lumina, always urging for chaos to overtake plots.
Dust
You are one of the funnest people on-site, and your open thread ideas are always so creative. Plus your taste in music is a 10.
Dust is amazing because of their enthusiasm for all things. I can quite often get like way too negative, and it's just so refreshing to have someone who loves and sees the best in everything coming out, and they really get me excited and hyped for games I might otherwise not even think about.
You've always brought such an entertaining flair to the site with your characters, and Sassmaster Supreme D'usian has been such a treat to see in action after years of teasing.
We have been through so much together. So, so much. An eight year site anniversary really makes me sit back and go “Holy shit, these people have helped shape my life for that long.” It’s to the point that I couldn’t imagine life without them. You’ve been such a positive influence on my life, Dust. You and your characters, of course, because I’ve written with them so many times. I remember when you and I both had eight characters each and somehow managed to make it happen, and every time I wrote with a new one of yours, it was just as different as the last right down to the narration. I hope you’re doing well, man. And one day…one day, we shall cosplay together. I’ve got all the pieces ready. We just need a plan of action.
You're one of my absolute faves and I'm glad you're always here to share a laugh with. We're always on the same page with our feelings and share a lot of love and grief, but its always a good time. Now help me buy some Gaga merch.
Enso
You always take minor characters and do such unique things with them! I love to follow their journeys.
Without a doubt your writing is superb, I tip my hat to you. Your creativity knows no limit which is truly admirable!! Not to mention every meme you post leaves me in stitches. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next.
Enso makes the Gilgamesh memes. It would be a crime not to appreciate them. They are amazing.
Though i know we have not a whole lot, especially lately, your always fun to talk to! and nice. One of my biggest regrets is still not having Krile and Gilgamesh fun when i wrote her.
Your humor’s on point and I always love how creative you can get with your character ideas!
I love how you always think outside the box. You always take characters that most wouldn't really blink at and give them a life of their own, and then give them a story of their own. Your ideas are wonderfully unorthodox and always interesting. Your MS paint edits are always good for a laugh, too.
Oh my gosh, Enso. You’re always a joy to talk to. You’re also a joy to write with. I have never before in my life seen narration that switches so drastically with each character and I’m in love with it. You’ve been around for, gosh, years now, and I can honestly say that writing with you has made ME a better writer just by making me consider my own narrative choices. You’re hilarious in chat. You’re positive in the community. And your Gilgamesh narration makes me laugh. Every single time.
You're one of the funniest people here and I love all of your ideas and writing with you. You have such a unique take on everything and such awesome character ideas. Getting to create with you is a blast! Thanks for being so much fun to be around.
Erin
I don't write with Erin enough, but she's so sweet, kind and an amazing writer, and such a passionate fan. I am so jealous of her and Fin's Final Fantasy convention adventures!
You’ve played a strong variety of characters since arriving from Yuna to Noctis and I love your takes on all of them! I couldn’t imagine a better person to play either of those very important characters and you’ve done them serious justice.
Oh my gosh, you are the best Yuna I’ve ever seen. Like the BEST. Your love of FFX shines through in everything you do with her, and she’s a hard character to write in the best of times let alone in an alternate world! I love, love, LOVE writing with you. Let’s plot together sometime, okay?
My partner in life, love, and roleplay. Where would I be without you? Okay, taking our shared personal lives, bonded in matrimony out of this and sticking just to Adventu, I can’t even count how many threads we’ve had together. You know how we used to write stories and pass them back and forth on notebooks in high school? I missed that. I know we have our own instant message roleplay (boy do we) but it’s not quite the same as being able to marvel at your style and bounce off your tone and all the subtle little bits that get left out of instant message. Back in middle school, I used to look forward to exchanging our notebook stories every day on the bus so I could read the next chapter in the stories you had written and so that I could share my own. It took a few years to get you on Adventu, but I have no regrets. You’re integral to it now. No going back. And yes, maybe one day I’ll bring back Ardyn just for you.
I wish I could be as versatile as you. Noctis, Genesis, and Yuna are all completely different characters, yet you manage to play all of them so very well. You're always so open to any ideas thrown your way and willing to roll with how things go down, even if it results in the bad times.
You're so absolutely sweet and a wonderful writer. I love writing with you, especially Genesis, knowing its always going to be an emotional ride. Thank you for being so awesome!
Fin
My absolute favorite rp forum buddy. Your responses are always entertaining.
By far your take on Kuja is the best I’ve ever read. I’ll be real though, you're also the best Sephiroth, Celes, Faris (the list continues) I’ve read. There’s a passion that carries through all of your characters, lending them unique voices that makes reading them a blast. Thank you for stepping into administration some time ago. It truly led to a wonderful community.
Fin writes my fav silver haired villains on the board. Which in any other franchise would be very specific, but, hey, this is Final Fantasy. She's always enthusiastic, fun, has good plot ideas, and really likes FFIX which I appreciate. She's a super talented writer and cosplayer and I feel super lucky every time I get to chat with her.
Your great! nice, understanding and helpful in my eyes, I still appreciate the warm welcome you and the other staff a the time gave me when i first came so longggg ago. Thank you so much for welcoming me then and still welcoming me now!
Whenever I've needed to know little things about the lore of Zephon, you've been there to answer my questions and in turn, gave me the tools any good gardener needs. Without your tireless efforts to keep this backyard accessible, I wouldn't be able to celebrate 4 years with Adventu thus far. I eagerly look forward to being able to write with you in the future~
Crap I don’t know what to say that I don’t say every year at this point lol. You work extremely hard for this site, sometimes taking on more at once than you should, but that’s just the kind of site owner you are. And yet still take the time to write some fantastic narratives with a cast of really varied and fun characters with completely different headspaces and ways of being. And then you also find time to be there when someone’s down. You’re one of the most openly supportive people on the site of basically anybody that needs it and to this day I still consider you one of my best friends. I’m still on this site because of you, and I’m grateful for that.
You've always thrown in your all to make the site a wonderful place to write and enjoy. You've always been open to different dynamics and I really appreciate that. Your Prompto is dead on and I've always loved how you made Celes your own. Your Sephiroth is the perfect Straight Man to all the insanity that happens on this site, and it's fun to watch him deal with the chaos.
Thank you for always being awesome to write with and inspiring me. Thank you for being so understanding as well for when life happens. It's clear how much you care about everyone and I can't thank you enough for everything you've done.
Grand Dota
I’ve loved your creativity with the FF8 sorceresses! Hope we can thread together soon.
Can I say that I’ve never seen anyone play a sorceress from the past before? And that as soon as I read your application, I had to wonder WHY I hadn’t? It’s such a great idea, and yet it had never before occurred to me. I hope that you keep up those ideas and that you stick with us for a while. I may not know you well personally, but I’m glad that you found your way to our weird little corner of the internet. You fit right in.
Han
TORNADO GIRL GO WOOSH. Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
A little froggie told me it was your birthday today. Happy birthday, Han! I know you need breaks here and there, but I’m always glad when you pop in and we get to talk – or even better when I get to reactivate one of your characters! Please take Eiko. I’m team Eiko! Even if your Rem is to die for.
Josh
You are always down to plot with anyone, and you are so welcoming to new people. I appreciate you so much. I feel like you single-handedly make Zephon less intimidating for newcomers.
Thanks for tolerating my nonsense as much as you do. You brought a lot to a site, and I’m sure you’ll continue to contribute for years to come. Seeing both you evolve as a writer simultaneously alongside Caius’s growth has been one heck of a ride. Walk tall.
I am not sure Josh is a person and not a posting machine sent back from the future to ruin my productivity. He's a one man machine for keeping Adventu active, developing stories and threads with everyone, and shaping the Adventu universe. I can't imagine the site without him.
THE CONSTANT UNENDING PUNS SERIOUSLY I HAVE NOT PLAYED HER IN YEARS NO I...[/s] AHEM Your great Josh! I've known you for a long time now to, and I always enjoy reading your posts whether there with me, or in a different topic all together, your stories are fun to read! I also thank you for being understanding of the time it takes me to write, even if you mess with me about it LOL
Knowing that we just missed each other by like a post in an event long ago, is going to be a story told for times to come. Having been able to write with you in more recent years has been an absolute pleasure. Thanks to your push, I feel I'll be able to write with even more people and share the small slice of Adventu I've carved for myself so long ago. Best of all, thanks to you, I can harvest the seeds I planted long ago so let me serenade you with this bit of appreciation! The cornerstone of many a member's activity <3
Thank you for always being there to help introduce new people to the site and always willing to write with others. Not only is Caius the tour guide for Zephon, you tend to be the welcome guide for anyone who pokes their head into the server. Caius does his best but he can only do so much, considering who he has to work with.
I’m not going to lie. This was the hardest for me to write. I don’t know what to say here that I haven’t already said to you. You don’t deserve the abuse you get from your parents or online. You don’t deserve what life is throwing at you right now. You are a shining star of positivity even when everything in the world has you down. You give people chances that they maybe don’t deserve, and whether it turns out for better or worse, I’ve always respected that kindness in you. I was asked recently, “What does Josh do on site?” and if I could have reached through the screen, I would have laughed in his face. You welcome everyone and make sure they have a place here. You give everyone a hook to hold onto so that they can get writing and feel immediately like part of the community. You’ve turned this community into an online haven for so many people, myself included. We have our differences sometimes, but I appreciate that too because whether I always agree with your site ideas or not, the fact that you HAVE them and that you are always expressing them has been the engine driving our site forward from the old wild west of roleplay into something structured and beautiful. I need you. Even when I’m frustrated. Even when I’m depressed. Even when I’ve ghosted the site for a few weeks due to mental health. I need you in my life and I need you on site. You’re like my right hand man, dude. And oh boy, I knew I’d start crying writing this one eventually and here come the tears. I’m a leaky faucet in a trenchcoat pretending to be a person so I’ll wrap this up now. Know that you’re cared for. Know that you’re loved. Know that even if you need to take a break and put in an LOA to deal with all the shit life is throwing at you that you’ll always have a home here because you helped build that home. There are people who appreciate you more than anything. Just look at the roster of our members to find them.
Thank you for always being super awesome to everyone on the site and taking such good care of everything. You always make everyone feel so welcome and are always ready and willing to help out a friend when they need it.

Your Pratchett-inspired writing with Mikkel always gets me. We definitely need to write again soon! Everyone should. Everyone could use spoopy Mikkel shenanigans laughter.
I miss Grudge! You bring so much character to LITERAL monsters, and that’s so amazing to me! I know you’re busy and everyone’s busy and an adult and needs time to themselves but I hope you keep sticking around so I can read your perfectly narrated monster writing some more!
I don’t see you much in the Discord and that’s a shame because I’d love to get to know you better. From the moment you first popped into the staff questions channel and asked if you could bring in your FF5 inspired Warriors of Darkness who are all monster races with complex backstories, I knew I was talking to someone special. That was such an off the wall, complicated idea that I could have SWORN you were secretly one of my friends IRL who I consider to be one of the most interesting people I know. I haven’t written with Grudge yet, but might I say that reading Mikkel is an absolute delight? I respect anyone who can do so much with just the narration. It’s not my personal style, but I think that’s why I respect it so much. Anyway, I hope you stick to it so I have more to read AND so that I can see your full vision of Darkness Warriors come to fruition. I’m looking forward to that.
Lala
No matter what community we met in, you were always a stellar part of it. Welcoming, patient, willing to lend a hand whenever someone needed it. I wish you luck with everything you put your mind to!
THE CYBER SLEUTH! With terrifying accuracy, you can find anyone on this site’s history on the site, with ease. It is genuinely scary. You’re also a fantastic writer who is really into everything she does, and a super caring person that doesn’t hesitate to use her medical knowledge to jump in and help whenever someone is in trouble. Super Lala is a pillar of support in our community and for that we salute you!
First off, thank you for everything you've done for the site! It means a lot that even with your busy schedule, you choose to spend your free time with all of us. Watching Angeal try to be normal but be stuck as babysitter is great, and I'm looking forward to Iggy getting out of jail.
This one’s hard for me not because I don’t have enough to say, but because I have way too much. You and I have been writing together for almost eight years now. Even when the site was a wild west, you helped keep me hooked, and even when I’d ghost for a while, you were always one of the reasons I’d come back. We’ve been through so much together – both in writing and personally. I don’t think I could even get into all the brilliant character moments we’ve collaborated on. Kuja’s betrayal of Wolly. Wolly and Faris becoming comrades in arms. Angeal’s forever guilt over Sephiroth as they all slowly, awkwardly heal their damaged relationships. And of course saving Ignis. I promise we’ll get there soon! I was so happy when you offered to come on as an admin after I got the keys to the site, and honestly? So much of what we have here is because of you. Those endless hours long meetings discussing our complete revamp of the site were stressful, but you somehow made them fun. There are so many locations and there’s so much lore that come directly from you and your boundless creative mind. I was sad to see you drop from staff, but I understand 100%. All I want is to keep seeing you around, to keep writing with you, and to hear about the life you’re building. I hope everything is going well and that you and your husband make that life together that you’ve always wanted. And if you’ve got some free time to spare, we’ll always be here. At least as long as the site is standing.
Lamia
You’re always so supportive in the Discord and I love threading with you!
FOREVER IN LOVE AT HOW CUTE YOUR CUORE IS! Serah and Shelke are also well done! Your writing is enchanting~♥ So elegant, graceful, and the music you often share is deserving a chef’s kiss!
My long time partner in crime (sister in crime most of all), without you old seeds planted from a once very cautious member, would not have born fruit. You truly are the saviour of my long form rp for many years. Through the thick of pandemic, we've written together and pushed one another to reach where we are today. So thank you very much, as I feel like I'm evolving more as a writer thanks to your help!
We’ve been writing since I first got here and I’m really happy to see you back and rolling again. Your Serah take is awesome and your narrative style is always worth the wait. I’m sure Galuf would be proud from up in the clouds.
You have such a range of characters and always have. Your Serah is a staple to the site, inspiring so many people and so many threads. It’s amazing to me that someone could write both an adorable child and an emotionless Sviet at the same time. And of course, I miss Krile. I will not participate in the Galuf jokes! But I did truly appreciate when we wrote together and I had the chance to work off your excellent writing and give Faris some real personal growth. Oops, just spoiled the anonymity here. But for real! I’d love to thread with you again, be it with Serah, Shelke, or Cuore. Just say the word and I’ll make it happen.
Leah
We needed another die-hard IX fan, and your Yuffie makes me laugh so much. You do her so perfectly.
I'm super sorry it takes me so long to reply to our rp! but, your fun, and great! and i enjoy rping with you!
IT’S YUFFIN’ TIME! That’s it. That’s the compliment. Well, that and the fact all of your character portrayals are always super fun, over the top and quirky. You bring a unique element to the site and I don’t think we’d be the same without you. Whether it’s Yuffie, Garnet, Maria or STACEE, you are a blast to write with, and a constant barrel of laughs.
Your Yuffie is amazing. A humanoid typhoon that just enters a thread, tears the place apart, and leaves everyone involved wondering what in the world just happened. I love that absolutely no plot survives as planned upon contact with her.
I’ve written with you on so many occasions and your characters never once disappoint. I can say with utmost certainty that your threads are the ones that I ghost read the most just because they’re always entertaining. Your characters are versatile; they’re not all little balls of chaos like Yuffie and they’re not all composed and deep like Garnet, but they always keep that spark that’s unique to you. They’re FUN in a way that’s unique to you. I can’t wait for our next thread together with whichever character you have in mind. I’ll take each and every one of them.
You made me like Yuffie, how dare you. I love how you write your characters and having a thread with you is always a fun and wild ride. I can't wait for my next Yuff-venture, even though my characters will probably hate it bahahaha.
Megan
Your characters are so fun and I’ve enjoyed every thread I’ve been in with you!
I’ve only written with you as Cindy and Tifa so far, but your work with them is top notch and I really enjoy the portrayal! You’re also super friendly and I need to talk to you about plotting again soon when you’re doing better!
You have some true versatility, girl. I should know. I’ve written with at least MOST of your characters at this point. You have brought SO MUCH to our happy little prison break thread. Even if your characters weren’t the focus, it’s been utter delightful chaos, and might I add that your Tifa is absolutely on point. It’s hard to get a character like Tifa right. She’s a little understated – kind and patient, but not afraid to get her hands dirty and kick some ass when the time comes for it. I’ve seen a LOT of Tifas in my time, and I have to say that yours is one of the best I’ve seen. Keep it going. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
You're always so nice in the Discord and your characters are entertaining to play with. It's been a treat watching Tifa trying to juggle the situation between Cloud and Sephiroth.
I appreciate that you're always ready and willing to have fun with everyone! You write your characters so well and I can't wait to have another thread with you someday! You're so sweet and nice and fun to be around.

Cassandra went a year without being poisoned. Time to celebrate! At least until it turns out that the celebration feast was poisoned.
I miss you so much! Your characters were always unique and on point. We never talked as much as I’d have liked, but I could tell just how much you brought to the site, and I appreciate that greatly. I hope that you see this. I really do! Just so you know that you are missed and I hope that you’re doing well!
Nicky
I appreciate you always popping in to ask how people are doing, and I’ve liked seeing Nick’s journey!
It has been a blast fleshing out the University of Magi with you. It's been an outlet and replacement for Harry Potter, with all the stylish trapping of Final Fantasy we could ask for. Your patience and enthusiasm is infectious and I look forward to seeing where our hijinks will lead us.
I don’t know you very well personally, but I know that it takes serious creativity to make an FF1 OC that lasts and cements themselves into the community like you have. I couldn’t do it, and I tried so I know the difficulties. We haven’t threaded yet, but I always smile when I see you reply in your own threads, and I like to keep up with them from time to time. I’m glad you’re here, Nicky. I hope I get to work off of your writing for myself some day.
Nightbloom
I’m so glad you came back! Your writing’s so good and I hope we can thread together soon.
Middy! Always so creative and imaginative, always so full of ideas. And always with great jokes. We’re happy to have you back, Middith!
I missed you while you were gone! In the short time that you’ve been back in the Discord, you have sparked my muse like no other, and I swear you’re doing it on purpose! I love it. I need my muse sparked every now and then, and I hope that you help me turn that spark into a raging fire of creativity. Knowing all of your previous characters, I know that you’re capable of some truly fabulous versatility. It’s so good to see you again! I hope you’re doing well.
Svbguy
You’re honestly just a joy to write with. I smile whenever I get an update from you.
I love your ideas for Terra and how you adapted her for her site return! You clearly exhibit a lot of creativity in what you do and I look forward to seeing how it continues!
You are one of my oldest roleplay buddies. It’s so funny to look back at where we both started. I always loved roleplaying with you even all those years ago because you were fast and you were creative and we shared so many of the same interests. I am THRILLED to see Terra back in your hands again. Not that other Terras in between weren’t good – some were excellent – but it really sends me on a nostalgia trip and just brings a smile to my face. I’m glad you’re here, SVB. I miss you whenever you’re on break.
I can't tell you how delighted we are to have a Terra, and Monori's a nice counterbalance considering the other Warriors of Light in play are frankly insane in their own weird ways.
Thehpdrop
Keimusho is honestly such a staple of the site at this point. I look forward to where his travels take him next!
The patient ninja waits to strike, lurking in the shadows. I love how dignified Keimusho comes across, particularly when you compare him to the OTHER FF14 warriors of light who can best be described as well-meaning disasters. This isn’t Leah, but oh my gosh I would LOVE to see Keimusho and Yuffie meet. Such diametrically opposed ninjas having to get out of a situation together. I’d read the HECK out of that!
Can you believe that Keimusho is the OC that’s been around second longest on this site? Even before we knew what we were doing with FF14, you were charging ahead, writing out your plotlines and taking on whatever battles came your way. I’ve always really appreciated the way that you write fight scenes. They’re my weak point personally, but you seem to excel at them in a way that I can’t. I can always picture your narration perfectly, and it helps me build off of it to create something truly special. You are the king of “Yes, and” improvisation, and I never know where a thread with you is going to end up. It’s absolutely wonderful.
Waga
You’re one of my all-time favorite people to write with. I cannot express to you enough how much I love Alex. You somehow managed to create a character who is both likable and has fatal flaws, and that can be SO hard to pull off. I want to give you all the kudos in the world for that.
It's been like ages since we've gotten to write together and so I'm really looking forward to our current stuff~ I hope you'll be patient with me as I'm absorbing the lore and exploring the 15 world that was taken from my hero Tetsuya Nomura's hands XDXD I also want to thank you for helping me out with non-roleplay stuff over the years. Doubtless I'll trouble you for even more gaming related stuff going forward, teeheehee.
So much 14 lore. Holy cow the 14 lore. We wouldn’t have been able to manage the 14 wave without you and we really do appreciate that. And then there’s Alex who is a complete and utter ball of chaos, and we love to see it.
It’s rare to find a writer who not only allows their protagonist characters to be deeply flawed, but that REVELS in those flaws. In the chaos of it. In the sheer unmitigated joy of watching them fall on their face in new and interesting ways while proclaiming themselves to be the good guy. I was an early supporter of Alex, I must say, and I feel vindicated by his rise in popularity. You have given me so much to work with as a writer, and as a person, you’ve helped me so much on staff. I remember back when our site was considered hostile towards FF14. We’ve still got some way to go to make it as friendly as possible given that I know nothing of the game, but I know that you’ve always got my back. I trust you, and I appreciate you more than I can say. Keep on keeping on, and I’m sure we’ll continue to find our way.
You never fail to make me laugh or have a good time. You have such awesome ideas and such great storytelling skills. I can't wait to have a thread with Alex because I already know its going to be hysterical and so much fun.
