Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.

[attr="class","skullbody"]"I'm surprised to hear that your partner was also at the manor, thankfully she managed to get out on her own. I still haven't the slightest idea what exactly was going on with that place." First a murder, then a fire, and this was the first he heard about Celes being held in the basement. Though it was to be expected somewhat. He did leave after getting those people out of the fire. [break][break] "Don't think that I am offended by the slightest by your offer Caius. I actually have considered the proposition in the back of my mind, if anything. The issue has lied solely with me. I don't believe that I have grown enough as a person to join the Dragonblades. At least not in an official capacity. I have not learned to shed the obligations that I've had in my own world, despite being here for so long. So, I just wandered about this world, helping wherever I could, while still attempting to be the shinobi my clan would expect me to be." [break][break] For these reasons, Mu has held himself to much unneeded secrecy for so long. It was all that he knew to do, yet much of it proved unnecessary owing to the simple fact that he was no longer in his homeland. [break][break] "However, it has proven difficult without them here. Owing to that, I have lacked a cause to pledge myself towards and as you have proven on multiple occasions, the Dragonblades is a worthy cause. Nevertheless, I am not yet ready to join that cause in full, for I first must find myself. It is not enough for me just to be Mu, I must also be Keimusho. When that happens, I might just be the one asking to join the Dragonblades myself." The shinobi laughs then takes another drink. "Anyway... I apologize if I soured the mood somewhat. I just believed that you were at least owed a reason behind my answer."

Caius Lucis Caelum
“I don’t know either” Caius admitted quietly, his expression and body language shifting uncomfortably as he really thought about it. There was the whole murder mystery thing, sure, but why had Lumina been under the manor being experimented on in the first place. Worse yet, what exactly had locked up Celes down there? It was made ever worse by the fact that thanks to Genesis, the manor had been burned down before Caius could have found any answers. And those answers had likely burnt to the ground with it. Celes hadn’t really wanted to talk about what happened after that, but maybe it was time he broached the conversation with her. If there was some other threat afoot that was still doing these experiments to this day, he was sure Celes would want to get to the bottom of it. At the very least to avenge her own personal honor.
Mu claimed he had not been offended by his offer, and he would finally lay out simple and clean his reasons. He did not think himself worthy, nor ready. He felt he needed to grow more as a person to be someone who could join, and for that reason needed to remain alone.
“Mu,” Caius spoke up quietly once he had finished, but his tone was serious as could be as he looked the shinobi in the face. “I think you misunderstand why and how the Dragonblades came to be. Celes and I… We were both displaced from our homes, once having a cause to call our own – only to lose it. We had lost everything, and lacked purpose, direction, a cause. Why did we form the Dragonblades? To give us, and others like us, something. At first, it was just a means toward an income for them, a home for people who were lost like us. Which is why the Dragonblades, at least on the surface level, are mercenaries. We wanted to help people who were stuck, the same way we were stuck. To save them from the pain of isolation and loneliness that comes from being stranded in this world, directionless and with nowhere to go.”
Caius took a long drink. Hopefully by the end of this, he could clear things up, and maybe help Mu in the process. He had helped them plenty, after all. It was the least he could do to return his kindness.
“We became peacekeepers in the end because that was just the people who ended up coming together. The Dragonblades changed with those that joined our ranks, and we have in turn been able to help people regardless of where they’re from. It is a cause that I am proud to call my own – but at the end of the day, its roots remain the same. People like yourself, wayward and without cause, with the desire in your heart to do the right thing? That is why the Dragonblades came to be.”
Still, he nodded his head in acceptance of Mu’s choice. “You don’t have to prove yourself to us anymore than you already have. But when you are ready… Let us help you, as you have helped us, and helped Zephon's people.”

[attr="class","skullbody"]The Au Ra listens with great intent as Caius explains the reasoning behind the formation of the Dragonblades. It is a means to give its members purpose, just as much as it was a way to help others. This was something that struck the shinobi hard, as it was his clan that had given him purpose when he had nothing after finding out his master was working for the Empire. "I believe I understand now. The Dragonblades are united by a shared purpose, one that likewise provides the lot of you meaning. In that way your organization is not so different from my clan. My clan was too united in a common purpose," the shinobi said giving a brief smile. "Some odd years before my birth, my country Doma was conquered by the Garlean Empire. My clan was formed to fight against the Empire, often crossing blades with shinobi that were in Garlean ranks. In those cases, my clan would use the Soul Crystals of the shinobi they defeated to train new shinobi. That was what enabled me and a few others to learn how to be shinobi without being born into a clan, but despite the lack of blood ties, we were still a family, so much so that we had all taken the name of the clan as our own. Not soon afterwards, we would lend our aid to the larger liberation efforts and see our country freed." [break][break] The shinobi would down his drink a last time before finishing the story. "It was but a few months after then that I wound up here. At first, I believed I was somehow brought here for some purpose grand or small by the Kami, and though I cannot say with confidence that is no longer the case... I still must find some other purpose for as long as I am here." [break][break] "Caius, I thank you for the kind words and prospective," the shinobi says giving a bow. "Thinking this through, I believe that a journey of introspection is in order for myself. One that is not completely clouded by my current temperament. By that journey's end, mayhap you'll have a new Dragonblade at your service."

Caius Lucis Caelum
Caius hadn’t expected a history lesson about his home country, but he appreciated Mu being open with him nonetheless. It was honestly surreal to have Mu opening up to him after all this time. They had worked together for a long time now, but he had never heard anything about Mu’s background, or really understood his motives. He had just been a good guy doing the right thing, but ultimately deciding to stay unaffiliated and working alone most of the time. Well, alone alongside Enma, anyway. But the clan’s history was interesting… And reminded him in some ways of the Kingsglaive, and of Celes’ Returners. “Freedom fighters, aye? That sounds like the Kingsglaive trying to retake our world. Or Celes’ Returners trying to liberate theirs” Caius immediately brought this up as soon as it came to mind. “I understand feeling like a family even without blood, though. That’s how I feel about the Dragonblades. I've long lacked family, but... With them, I just feel right.”
So Mu was like him, taken from his purpose and brought here. And had spent all his time since trying to forge a new one. “Don’t I know the feeling. The Dragonblades were ultimately what I decided my new purpose should be, since I could no longer protect Lucis or its King.”
Despite what he had said though, Mu had ultimately decided to undergo his journey anyway. There wasn’t really anything further Caius could say to dissuade him. His mind was made up. Still, he seemed pretty set on joining eventually, which Caius was glad to hear. So he still had that to look forward to. So, Caius raised a glass to that. “You have nothing to prove in my eyes, Mu. But if this journey is what you feel you need, I understand. All I can really do is wish you the best of luck in that journey, and hope that it brings you everything you could ever want from it. We’ll still be here, hopefully.”

[attr="class","skullbody"]Mu nods in response to Caius finding commonality between the shinobi's clan and the Dragonblades. It was long evident that Caius had a similar level of devotion to the mercenary group, but it was never clearer in the spoken word to the shinobi than now. Caius mentioning how he could no longer protect his king further resonated with Mu. The shinobi likewise could not protect his homeland. "It is quite difficult to not think of how your home is faring while we are stuck here. Especially when it wasn't in its most stable state when you left it. Doma scarcely had any time to rebuild before we began lending our aid the liberation of another country subjugated by Garlemald." [break][break] "What bothers me most about it is that my version of events does not seem to align with others that I have heard. A single warrior who was integral to my country getting their freedom back, seems to also be responsible for forestalling tragedies that have yet to pass for when I was sent here. That would be cause for some ease of the mind if they had not clearly had passed away in my time." The talk of some catastrophic event called the Final Days from Monori, the Miqo'te he briefly exchanged words with had particularly irked him. How would his home world or rather his home timeline fair if there was no Warrior of Light there to stop the future threats that he was told of? [break][break] Mu gave a smile to Caius when he acknowledged the journey that Mu had decided to embark on. "Fret not, Caius with the few years that we both have been in Zephon, my journey will feel miniscule in comparison. Until then, allow me not to bog down the mood further and enjoy the short moment of respite... Until you have to return to your paperwork that is."
