Renitra had a sleepless night in this new world. Her mind could not find a moment of peace to allow her to do so. It kept replaying the sequence of events that led to Renitra arriving in the world of Zephon. She kept reseeing herself rescue her friend Krile Basterion from a Garlean stronghold, pulling the Lalafellin’s unconscious body from a containment tube, her fury at the imperial soliders who drew their gun blades at Renitra. The blood shed she unleashed to subdue the soliders… and then the purple armor of Zenos yae Galvus looming over her. Renitra fought Zenos once and she had lost, resulting in her leading a second front in Doma to distract him and spread his legions forces out to allow Ala Mhigo and Doma to be free from his yoke. Zenos coldly stated a bargain. Krile’s life, for Renitra’s imprisonment. Renitra was allowed to get Krile out of the stronghold and on her Chocobo to safety before Zenos attacked her. She didn’t remember anything else but a multicoloured blur, similar to when she was drugged at the Ishgard/Dravania peace conference at Falcons Nest.
renitra sat up from her bed with a start, sweating profusely as the memories remained fresh in her mind. She looked around and remembered what had happened. She had booked a room inside one of the inns of Provo. As far as she had assumed, Provo was one of the Reflections of Hyaedalyn, one of thirteen. She pulled herself out of bed and looked out her rooms window. “It feels like Ul’dah and Mor Dhorna combined…” she said softly looking out. She then looked at the crowd and the blood ran from her face. She recognised the figure below. A narrow, sinister face. Blonde straight and shoulder length hair… the third chthonic eye on his forehead… Zenos uae Galvus had followed her to Zephon to finish the job. She had to get him first. She had to get even, and win against him in battle… if she succeeded, it might lift part of her burdens off her heart.
it took her a short while to get changed into her yellow and blue armor and grab her Lance and astrometer before she burst out of the Inn and barrelled down on the Garlean Crown Prince. People bolted out of her way. They saw she had the face of utter hatred plastered on it as she launched into the air and dove down for Zenos, spear tip aimed for the back of his head. “ZEEEEEENOOOOOOOOOSSSSS!!!” She screamed as she collided… did she hit him? Did she get the jump on him? She was so worked up she just unleashed her verbal fury without waiting for confirmation. “Turn around and face me you… black hearted MONSTER!”

Zenos viator Galvus
Garlean | Age 26 | 226cm x 130kg | M | Wanderer
He was strolling aimlessly among the streets of Provo. He was looking for someone to fight, but he still could not find any sort of entertainment. Thus did he take refuge in his own mind, where, at least, he would not be bored to his death. And it was while he was lost in thought that something stirred outside, somewhere close to him, and he was quickly brought back to the present by his instinct. That same instinct that perceived an attack and made him move out of the halberd's way without even seeing it. A surprise attack from a dragoon knight? Was this the new technique the people were willing to use to attempt to murder him? Cowards.
Still.
Was his name so well-known that anyone would know it? Had he told it someone he could not remember? It was possible. But then, why would this savage speak as she had? He had not murdered aimlessly ever since he had come to the city. Why the hatred? Although he was well aware that he was a ruthless beast, or a monster as she had said. Was she from Hydaelyn? He did not know, and to be completely honest wth himself, he also did not care. So he looked into the Hyur's eyes without the shadow of an expression, simply staring as if looking at whatever else. "You wish to fight me." he stated, detatching the scythe from his back. "Very well."
He was not known for caring about his surroundings, nor about the passersby. Anyone who would offer a fight would at least be tested. But would this woman be good sport? Would she entertain him or bore him, he wondered? "If it is a fight you want, you shall have it." he stated, then he swung his blade towards the dragoon a couple of times, without even relying on the unyielding blade technique. He would test her first, then take the bar higher and higher should she meet his expectations.

Upon his turning to face her and consenting to her statement of challenge, Renitra felt her blood run cold and her cheeks paled. Her eyes looked to the Scythe the Garlean had drawn. “No samurai sheath capsule trickery?” She asked with a surprised tone of voice. However she then saw his series of swipes. She backflipped to dodge them, landing upright with her spear in hand. Her Astrometer floated behind her, channeling astral aether and funnelling it into her Lance. However she held one hand up and conjured a stellar orb and threw it at Zenos, casting the spell Gravity with the hopes of making him heavier and thus slower.
“You don’t remember me do you? I suppose you’ve won so many fucking times you just see blood as one…” Renitra said finally with teeth clenched. “But I remember you. Our battle in Ala Mhigo. A cruel viceroy who decimated me… at the cost of a blade he so coveted… the last five years of my life has come to this. You’ve been the source of my miser, Zenos yae Galvus… you broke the people of my fathers homeland… you brought my father to despair. You broke the people of Ala Mhigo to the point of one of them FRAMING ME for murder, forcing me to live with fucking savages who would rather stab dragons and die than lift a finger to help people! Thanks to your antics, you’ve pulled me into war, after war! The Ultima Weapon, Dragonsong War. The war for Ala Mhigo, the war for Doma… you even kidnapped the woman who helped heal my broken heart. And for what!? To brutalise her, mind body and soul because she had an Echo, like me! For your own distorted sense of power building? AND THEN YOU THREW ME INTO THIS REFLECTION, and now you’re here to finish what we started! I’ll be the one standing Zenos. My name is Renitra Starspear. I am the Warrior of Light… AND I FIGHT FOR EORZEA! FOR GRIDANIA, LIMSA LOMINSA, ISHGARD, AND DOMA!” With that she conjured and pitched a series of Malefic star orbs which spat out of her Astrometer as she charged forward with her spear, letting off an Ishgardian style battle cry.

Zenos viator Galvus
Garlean | Age 26 | 226cm x 130kg | M | Wanderer
He stared in confusion as she mentioned what he supposed were his far eastern blades. He hadn't used a katana since... well, a very long time. And he did not have one at the moment, as his entire collection of weapons had been lost together with Garlemald when he first awakened in these foreign lands. Then he raised an eyebrow when she called him "Zenos yae Galvus". Yes, she was from Hydaelyn, then... but he had no idea what she was talking about. He had never seen her before, and even had he done so, he would have remembered her if she did not bore him.
He did remember ordering someone to experiment on a lalafellin female to develop an artificial echo, that he did. What was her name? Cry? Kyle? Something along those lines. But he did not remember any of the rest - or better, he remembered witnessing those wars, but not her presence in them. But then, after the woman was done rambling, something caught his attention. Warrior of light. She was supposed to be a warrior of light? The Warrior of Light? "Is this why you fight?" he asked, emotionless, as he erected a magical barrier to protect himself from her spells - just like the one he had used in Ala Mhigo, since she had named it.
"I am no prince, not anymore. And you are no Warrior of Light." he stated, then he deflected the woman's weapon with his own, and attempted to kick her away by aiming at her side. "But if you wish to take my life, feel free to try. I will not take yours, should you provide me with good enough sport." That said, he slashed at the woman again, whether she had been thrown away by his kick or not, but this time with the unyielding blade technique, channelling his aether into the scythe and projecting the slash into the air and in her direction.

Renitra let off a scoff of indignation at Zenos' rebuttal that she was not the Warrior of Light, and that he was not Crown Prince of Garemald. Her first thought was 'What if he's right? What if he just killed me and he died at the Scions hands in revenge? is this the afterlife?' This caused her to faulter slightly, and give Zenos the opening he needed to give her a firm kick. She grunted in shock and untangled herself. Then she snapped with a statement of bluster. "Still the sociopathic monster you were the last two times... A comfort in this lost world... What a terrible thing to take comfort from.
Renitra readied her spear and held her hand out to call her Astrometer which landed and put a card into her hand. She looked at it. The Ewer in Umbral (also known as Upside down) position. She wracked her brain trying to figure out what it meant. A memory of her Astrology Lessons with the then Lady Leveva (now known as Lord Ruffin to honor her father) came to her. In the memory Leveva was talking about the gate known as the Arrow. The Heaven of Water which represented both Nymeia, the Spinner and Thaliak the Scholar also represented wisdom. Searching for it? Or perhaps having and hoarding it? But inverted it meant misinformation. Renitra had no time to think further. She touched the Ewer card against her spear to temporarily imbue her spear with its celestial aether and causing a small cresent moon to appear on her Astrometer.
With spear drawn she spun it around causing a river of celestial light to streak from it before shoving it into the ground and thrusting it forward, sending a potent beam of Celestial Aether straight for Zenos. "By the Ewer, I learn about my foe!" She yelled jumping into the air like a Dragoon and descending onto Zenos, but this time she unleashed a flurry of rapid stabs as she descended, looking to see how the Resonant Prince would react.

The woman's words did not bother Zenos in the slightest, although he did feel the need to reply to one thing. "I have never laid eyes on you before." he said - although he was not quite sure whether he did not remember because he truly had never seen her before or because she was entirely inconsequential to him. He was known to forget names and faces he did not need to remember.
He stared as she called upon her cards. He had always been intrigued by ishgardian magic, and he did study what he could about astrologians. They drew power by their skills in divination. Yet, this one was also a dragoon. Perfectly fitting, he thought, as both had their connection with the skies, one through the air and one through the stars. As he witnessed the woman imbue the power of her card into her weapon, he smirked. She truly was no warrior of light. As far as he remembered, which truly was not much to be fair, his friend was nothing like her, both in character and abilities.
"Boring, boring, boring." he muttered, as he erected his barrier once again. Then, as she started her descent, he simply teleported a few yalms away, in order not to be hit. Perhaps, she would take a moment too much to recover from her landing? Not that he cared much. He rotated the scythe above his head, infusing it with aether, and slashed a few times towards the Hyur using the unyielding blade technique: a sliver of dark-infused aether, projecting the scythe's path, darted in her direction. He did not truly care whether or not others would be involved - he had never truly cared about civilians, or buildings even. And he did not care whether she did care or not.

As she descended she froze up. He didn’t remember her? How could it be? “But you-“ she began only to crash into the ground with a grunt and a thud. She rolled onto the ground and laid face down. She pushed herself up and grabbed her spear once again. “Seven hells… he can teleport… when has a Garlean ever displayed simple magic!? Unless… it’s because of what he did to Kri-“ she was going to accuse Zenos’ power on his experimentation on her beloved Krile when she saw the dark aether flowing into his scythe. “Oh… my… gods… ” she dropped the spear in utter horror. This was how he became even stronger as the Resonant. He can harness Aether now!
With the Unyielding Blades shooting out she tried her best to remain calm but on the inside she was genuinely freaking out. She was losing the fight, yet again! Everything she knew tactic wise was flung clear out the window as she tried desperately to compose herself. Her Astrometer whirled and spat out another card. The Spear in Astral (right side up) position. Its lower arcana was irons and chains. Just like Krile was in. She tried her best to clear it out of her mind. She tried to focus on the good meanings and interpretations. The Heaven of Ice was represented by the Spear. A resting place of the benevolent and gallant. Was she either? She was starting to doubt herself. She grabbed her spear and stabbed the card causing it to fade and imbue its power into it as she spun the spear and thrust into the blade trying to block it. Unfortunately, Zenos’ power was too strong yet again and she was blasted into the wall, where she was stuck, her eyes scrunched shut, her body spread eagle and stuck to the wall. “Ooowwww…” she coughed out

Zenos looked at the woman as she said something about him teleporting. He had a resource, why not use it? But it was true that garleans, especially pure-blooded garleans such as him, were not supposed to be able to use even the simplest form of magic. Yet he had never been normal to begin with. The woman was about to spout some more nonsense, and Zenos chose to shut her up with his next attack.
He could see it in her eyes. Fear. Simple yet powerful, perhaps a good reason for her to give him something more? But no, for a moment she was so utterly shocked that her grip on the spear loosened. She would have to go a long way -a very long way- before she could truly fight him. And that became even clearer when the latest of his blows sent her backwards onto a wall.
He stared at the woman for a long, long moment after she hit it. He had seen something in her eyes, something special. Was she also one of Hydaelyn's chosen? But he thought She had disappeared. Could the blessing hold on? It would not surprise him, considering Her power. "You have potential." He said, looking at her from head to toe and then back to her eyes. "You should not waste it on being murdered by someone like me." He continued, closing his eyes for a moment. He sighed. She had potential. She could grow. She would live.
"Leave. Take your time and return, stronger, when you stand a better chance to overpower me - be it through magical mastery or physical prowess, this matters not. If you aspire to properly engage in combat with me, you must possess power that matches my own." He looked straight into her eyes, his gaze as cold as the winters of Garlemald. "You do have the right hunger.. but at this moment, you are unquestionably lacking power. Leave with your life, or attack me again, and die." he stated, then he turned around and started walking away without waiting for an answer.

Renitra’s breath took on a ragged tone as she tried desperately to recover from being stuck in the wall by the battle crazed bloodlust fueled Resonant. Her Astrometer spun around feebly as she willed it to cast Benefic, a healing spell to keep her going… however she was losing her focus out of fear and panic. Deep down she had already lost… AGAIN. This was the fourth time they tangled. Rhalgr’ Reach, Yanxia, Ala Mhigo, and now Zephon they had clashed, and each time she came out the loser.
A soft choked out sob came out of her mouth as she pushed herself off the wall one last time. She fell forward, landing on her face, causing her spear and Astrometer to clatter to the ground beside her as dust kicked up from her impact. “Why…” she said softly. “Why can’t I beat him…” she was inwardly frustrated and feeling helpless as she felt Zenos yae Galvus’ shadow loom over her. She looked up and whimpered softly. “Everyone… Raubahn… Lyse… Krile… I’m sorry… I failed…” she said softly. “I’m so sorry…” she then slowly rolled over so she would be face up. If Zenos was to kill her, he’d have to look her in the eye when he did it. She braced herself, however…nothing. “What are you…?” She began to question why he wasn’t killing her when she heard what he had said. Her eyes widened as her mind flashed back to their battle in Yanxia.
Despite doing relatively better than their fight in Rhalgr’s Reach, she was still beaten and was on the ground on one knee trying to catch her breath. That fight he had also told her to grow stronger for a rematch, naming her someone that had potential. She felt sick to her stomach that day. And now that the haunted memory returned she felt sick once again. She wanted to vomit but instead a small whimper came out of her throat when she finally got her breath back. “You’ll regret this…” she said. “I will best you one day… I’ll return to Eorzea,.. I’ll end the war… and make you PAY for what you have done… mark my words… mark... my…” She groaned softly and tried to sit up. Eventually, with her body trembling, she managed to gather her weapons and stagger away, giving herself as much distance from the blood crazed crown prince as possible, using her spear as a crutch to keep her up right.
Once she was out of eyesight from Zenos, she found an empty barrel and her body slumped over it…and vomited inside. The pain from losing once more, the nausea from her memory of their fight in Yanxia and the powerlessness of her situation crashed together and caused her a moment of stomach distress.
