Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.
Tseng adapted well to the situations he was placed in, so when he arrived somewhere he didn't recognize, he took to investigating. Of course he started out by making his way to the closest town he could find. He noticed that people weren't really surprised when he asked his questions, so he got answers. Those answers though, still weren't that helpful. It did show that no one really knew what was going on, so he had made progress in some way.
Continuing his journey, Tseng made his way over to a different town. On the way, he thought about how he had come to be here. He had been on a mission with one of his Turks, a small mission so he didn't bother any of his higher ups. Unfortunately, there was an ambush no one had been expecting, not even him. Someone must have been digging deep into his life, knowing him well enough to keep their distance as to not be seen. Tseng was excellent at his job, but he still had his flaws. Being dedicated to his work would sometimes leave him exhausted, so if someone were to know when those times were, they could catch him off guard.
That wasn't going to stop the Commander from moving forward. He had given the "everyone makes mistakes, just learn from them" speech so many times, he knew he needed to follow it himself. The last thing he remembered before waking up here was seeing the group of people, and then everything went black. Whoever got to them, knew how to make sure they weren't seen. If he wasn't there now, he was hoping his Turks would figure out what happened. If they weren't attacked as well.
Deciding now would be a good time to rest, Tseng found a little coffee shop. Ordering a black coffee with a light amount of sugar, he found a seat by the window so he could watch people walk by. From what he had gathered, there could be a chance someone he knew could be there as well. If they saw him, he was sure he would be recognized. He had yet to change out of his normal suit, and wasn't sure if he was going to. There was no reason for him to be in it, but could he bring himself to do anything different?
Rufus Shinra was used to work, despite what many believed about him. He worked hard throughout his life; on projects that benefitted him and his company, more so than anything else. He was capable of spending days and nights pouring over plans, developing and carrying out complex ideas, constructing a team of people and resources to execute the ideal situation he needed. He was well educated, with a speciality in engineering and architectural design, and enjoyed pouring time into projects to prove how much more talented he was than his father before him. However, what he was most used to was being in charge of such things. The boss, the executor.
Before this, his father had been the only person in the world to deny his plans, throw his hard work to the wind and tell him to try harder.
Rufus pinched the bridge of his nose before rubbing at one tired eye as he made his way down the sidewalk in the much-less-destroyed section of Provo. While he had managed to claw his way into the city government, he was finding the people he worked with to be … less than ideal. The people of Provo were stuck in their ways about building design and structure, and the once-President wasn’t sure how much longer he could argue with them over efficiency versus history.
Your world sees more destruction by the day. Why are you dismissing progress that could help save your people?
He’d won them over with his knowledge of how they had suffered their losses, but climbing further to the top would require … potential sacrifices and many favors, of which Rufus was running short on. He could tell the people he spoke to weren’t all fools -- many of them seemed eager to hear more about his design plans -- but those in the big wig seats were less enthused. What if the people don’t like it? We need those votes to stay in power. Try again, it must be more traditional but still ensure people’s safety.
Some things never changed. And just as he’d wanted to do to his own father, boss, in the past, he suddenly found himself dreaming of pushing them out a giant window.
Rufus paused on the sidewalk, stopping to glance at his reflection in the mirrored window of a small cafe. Dark circles under his eyes, his tie loose, shirt wrinkled. It was clear he’d fallen asleep on his desk overnight.
Coffee first, the blonde groaned internally, stepping forward the few paces needed to reach for the door. Coffee, then he could deal with the rest of the day ahead. What time even was it?
The coffee shop was small and quaint; the perfect place to relax for a moment before he headed back to his office to begin work on another concept that would inevitably be bickered over. The smell of freshly roasted coffee beans filled his senses, and Rufus found himself absorbed by the scent. He made his way to the counter, ordering the largest, darkest roast they had. Typically he’d enjoy a latte with a little flair, but it wasn’t worth ordering if he was too exhausted to enjoy it. The ache in his neck reminded him that this little excursion couldn’t take long.
Rufus swiped the free newspaper from the counter as his gaze fell to the rest of the coffee shop’s interior, looking for a quiet, secluded seat to enjoy his few minutes of relaxation. He blinked a few times, fighting the heavy feeling in his eyelids, as his blue eyes drifted across the sparsely populated seating. No, actually, he didn’t care where he sat -- not right now. Rufus tossed the paper onto the closest table and took a seat, cradling the hot beverage in his hands, mentally willing it to cool off faster.
He didn’t bother lifting his head, instead letting his blue eyes fall to the words on the paper and willing them to make sense.
It's time for a new empire Go bury your demons then tear down the ceiling Phoenix, fly
Tseng took a sip of his coffee as he watched people walk by. No one seemed distressed, and he had to question that a little bit. The town definitely looked like it had seen better days, but no one seemed phased by it at all. Did destruction happen often here? Better yet, who were the people to cause it? Judging by the large area, it had to be mulitiple people, or a small group of powerful people. His first thought went to the SOLDIERS from Gaia, but there was only a small chance of it being them.
Sighing as he took another drink of his coffee, he was about to start his journey again when someone stopped in front of the mirror. The person looked exhausted, and...familiar. "Rufus." Tseng muttered to, well, nobody. The blonde started to walk away, and Tseng was about to get up and go after him when he noticed that Rufus had come into the shop as well. Deciding to let him get the coffee he looked like he desperately needed, Tseng stayed put for a while longer.
This wasn't like the Rufus he knew. That Rufus had an aura around him that demanded attention, and everyone stopped to listen and obey. That Rufus was the man he reported to, the one he was loyal to through thick and thin. This Rufus looked the same, but he had lost that aura. He looked defeated. Was is this world? Deciding to make himself known, Tseng stood up with his coffee and made his way to Rufus's table. "Mind if I join you, sir?" This could be interesting.
