"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
Lumina couldn't help but giggle in response to Zell. Clearly her mundane, monotonous tasks were so dull, that he couldn't keep his interest. That was perfectly fine, as she continued to work with a coy grin. Zell's company was enough to help her get through the work. Learning about his room was fun, causing a soft 'hmm' to escape Lumina's lips. "Well, if you'd like we could try and recreate your room back at my house?" she offered casually, in hopes that would help Zell feel more comfortable. On the other hand, it just sounded like something fun to do.
Noticing Zell become nervous, Lumina tilted her head, clearly perplexed by his fidgeting. Perhaps her question had made him uncomfortable? Remaining quiet, she'd listen to Zell's response. A soft gasp came forth when he confessed that all his friends more or less found someone. It certainly made her curious but she was happy that the group seemed very mature. Although like Zell, she did feel bad for Quistis, given it didn't take much to put gather an idea of the kind of person she was. It made her want to meet Quistis all the more, knowing first hand what it was like to be a big sister and make sacrifices.
This lead to her next question, which was arguably more important for Lumina. So much so that her expression had remained completely neutral while studying Zell. Lumina wasn't surprised that he was in a relationship, given his friends had found partners. What surprised her slightly, was his feelings about it. Being on missions often meant he didn't really forge much of a relationship. Which if one didn't put in the effort then it wouldn't work out, naturally.
"Oh, that's odd. For awhile I thought the reason you were so anxious to get home was because you might have a special someone waiting for you, just like Serah." Lumina admitted before giving another 'hmm'. "Actually, ever since I reunited with Serah and exchanged notes, I've begun to suspect that maybe our friends, yours and mines; may in fact be somewhere on Zephon also." Lumina admitted before continuing to elaborate, "You met Quistis already and my sisters are here, as well as one of our friends."
With that potential revelation, Lumina continued to work for a moment, letting a moment of silence come forth before speaking up. "Oh, I hope my inquiries didn't make you too uncomfortable. If so, I apologize... I'm not really... good at handling friendships." after all, her experience with them, was through Lightning up until now and while she remembered her days of finding Vanille and Fang. The fun she had pestering Fang while hugging Vanille. Lumina was uncertain if that really counted. Then again, here in Zephon she had her own experiences, whether it was with her crew, split into a Provo and Torensten team. Different business partners, who she had to make sure got paid (hence her current work), likely, Lumina was just being hard on herself.

If you don't fight for what you want, don't cry for what you lost.
Lumina's suspicion of their other friends being on Zephon was correct. Zell knew this, not only thanks to Quistis and Serah being present, but also thanks to the run-in with Rinoa in Torensten. He wasn't sure if she was still there at this point, but Rinoa definitely wanted to find Squall.
"Yeah, I'm sure they're around here somewhere, too," he said in agreement. Lumina then added an apology for how uncomfortable Zell felt following his realization that Lumina was leaning towards a partnership that Zell never knew she wanted. Hell, he didn't know if it was something he wanted.
Therefore, Zell kept to himself unless Lumina was directly asking him questions. Rather than staying seated, he rose up from the chair and started pacing around the room while deep in his thoughts. In his mind, Zell wanted to look less nervous. Whether or not it worked is another story.
"So," he started said with arms crossed and turning to continue his pacing. So much for keeping to himself. "What's our plans in Torensten, anyways? I know this is part of the business you're running and stuff, but I don't know what exactly this business of yours does." There was some truth behind the statement. If Lumina had told him what she was doing to get money, he didn't remember it.

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
At first Lumina merely nodded in response to Zell, before resuming work. Believing things to be fine and relishing the quiet company. After all, just his presence close by was enough to put her at ease. Why, Zell could have been enjoying himself on the bridge with Serah and the others and Lumina would still be happy. That was far more preferable to being far away, not knowing where he was or if he was safe.
By chance then, as she crossed out a budget and momentarily glanced to Zell. Lumina noticed Zell had risen from his chair and was pacing about. If Zell were merely bored, his body language would have shown it. This wasn't boredom, he looked rather... nervous. This caused Lumina to raise her left brow before going into some thought during the brief silence. Zell hadn't responded to her offer about recreating his room. Complete with a new punching bag! Instead she watched him pace while tilting her head for a bit. When he broke the silence, Lumina was more confused. It's true she hadn't really told Zell what she did. Not because she wanted to hide it from Zell, there was just other topics to discuss.
Gasping in realization, Lumina sat back for a moment. "Oh, how rude of me~ Well... Come here, I'll show you." she held up her clipboard, using it to gesture Zell to come on over. Using her pen she went from the top as she prepared to explain the nature of her business. "I've been trading~ I've basically got a small guild now. This started after I sold some precious goods for a lot of gil~ Then I used that money to buy local goods from Provo and Torensten. Radiance is basically heading to Torensten to restock on the local fruit, fish, magical charms and spell components. Of course, we're bringing goods from Provo and Sonora to sell too~" Lumina began, playfully dangling her feet though not too much, less she accidentally harm Zell if he got closer.
"The goods from Provo itself are from agriculture, those don't sell for nearly as much." Lumina tapped the column showcasing goods like grain and such. "It's my ties to Sonora's minerals, delivered directly instead of having them come to Provo, that keeps business afloat~" Lumina continued, pointing to the next column of goods on the balance sheet.
"If I wasn't doing this, then we wouldn't have the resources needed to fly around Zephon. My hope is... that I can find Snow, as well as the others." she gave a warm smile before looking to Zell. "Of course, business isn't really why we're going. I promised to bring Serah to Torensten, I know she's going to love it. Torensten's climate and being by the coast? It's just like our hometown. I would have actually settled in Torensten instead of Provo but... I was worried you wouldn't be able to find me if I did." blushing faintly, Lumina shook her head.
"Sometimes we encounter Sky Pirates, other times Thieves when moving away from the city and into the suburban territories. Your work is definitely cut out for you~" Lumina was joking at the end of that, for Zell didn't want to know what she did to Sky Pirates and their airships. Instead, she decided to take things in a different direction after the potential calm of her elaboration on business.
"Zell? I can't help but notice that you seem rather nervous and a bit... lost in thought? Is something wrong, you can tell me anything you know~ We're friends after all!" Lumina gently rested her clipboard in her lap while tucking the pen away, only to clap her hands together.
"So...talk to me~"

If you don't fight for what you want, don't cry for what you lost.
The description of Lumina's job was even more boring than Zell thought. It took a lot of effort for him to even stay focused on her while she went through the details. Some parts did fade out, but the SeeD only assumed they weren't important anyways.
"Oh, I guess that's neat," he responded once she finished. He did hear something about Serah wanting to see Torensten, so Zell decided to continue the conversation in that direction. Or, at least he was going to until Lumina pushed them into another topic.
"Talk to me~"
A sigh escaped Zell's lips. There was still some uncertainty about Lumina's true intentions and feelings, and Zell wasn't exactly sure how he would proceed if the pink-haired girl really did feel that way. Regardless, withholding information was also something that he couldn't do. Zell was in quite the pickle.
"Well..." He tried to find a way to cohesively put his thoughts together before continuing. "I dunno. I kinda feel like things between us are different now. I can't really explain it." The fact that Zell couldn't really find the right way to word their feelings started to make him flustered. "I'm not trying to make an ass of myself, but I want to understand why you asked so much about relationships."
Zell spoke, just like she wanted him to. Now it was Lumina's turn to give her thoughts. A few steps were taken until the blonde teen was close to Lumina. "What about you? How do you feel about everything?"

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
Lumina did well to withhold her laughter as she watched Zell during her business summary. It wasn't exactly very exciting work and when she mentioned what she was doing previously, he already expressed disinterest. Which made her wonder why the inquiry? Perhaps he was trying to make conversation. That felt... adorable, so was his modest reply as he tried not to offend her. She found herself shaking her head but smiling all the same. Uncertain if it was okay to feel so...happy right now, Lumina began to wonder if she was being too obvious with her feelings. Just to be safe, she decided to reel it in a bit, taking on a neutral expression as she waited for Zell to open up.
Zell's opening statements caught her by surprise, causing her to tilt her head for a moment. "Huh, you feel that way too?" Lumina responded almost immediately. She had been thinking that their dynamic was different now. Initially, she thought it was because Zell wanted to protect her and have an equal footing. Now that he'd brought it up officially, maybe there was something else? Once Zell got to the meat of the issue, Lumina stared at him for a moment. "Oh, that's all?" she couldn't help but ask that, relief coming over before she composed herself.
"Reconnaissance~" was the playful answer she decided to go with, hoping to alleviate the mood with her antics. "It's like I said earlier, I'm not really very good with friendships. The more I know, the easier it is to be comfortable and feel..." she trailed off, as the word she was looking for was on the tip of her tongue. When she couldn't find it, she scrunched her eyebrows, eyes squinting just a bit before she got it. "...like I'm home. I hope that makes sense." she'd give him a moment, in case she needed to elaborate.
Instead, Zell asked some followup questions, which caused her to cradle her right cheek with her right hand, before leaning against her elbow on the arm rest. "How do I feel...?" she didn't need much time to think, "I'm really, really happy and so grateful, more than words can express. You gave me hope and a direction at a time I needed it most. I can't imagine what dark place I'd be in right now if things were different." taking a moment to inhale deeply, her eyelids closed.
"Thanks Zell, you're the best." she spoke softly only for some realization to hit her. "Wait...unless that's not what you mean at all?" at which point her eyelids opened up and she immediately sat up, back straight for a moment. "Don't tell me Serah's teasing got to you?" at which point she couldn't help but lean forward in her chair, with a twinkle in her sea blue eyes and a mischievous grin.
"Setting aside my actions, because I was just happy that you were alive and well, along with the fact that you came back..." her eyes playfully leered now. "You did offer to whisk me away to another world right in front of my sister. Of course she'd take it the wrong way... it was kind of romantic, really." Lumina couldn't help but tease a little, before adding in another suspicious note. "Since you decided to stay with me instead, I can imagine what Serah's thinking right now, can you~?"

"I can imagine what Serah's thinking right now, can you~?"
Lumina had a point. When he saw how distraught she was over her past with Lightning. His decision was validated when she went so far as to claim that the world didn't need two Lightnings, whatever that meant. That was another story that the SeeD would need explained eventually.
"Fair enough." Zell's shoved his hands into his pockets and tilted his head, keeping is eyes on the pink-haired girl to gauge her reaction. "But is she wrong, though?"
He had to know for sure if his suspicions were true. There were so many feelings spinning around the two of them that it made it very difficult for the teen to pinpoint which ones were actually there. And it didn't help that Lumina would occasionally shift the conversation away from it after teasing what might sentiments might be there. If Serah can see it, then why can't Lumina? Unless...she didn't want to.
"I'm not stupid, Lumina. Dumb? Maybe. But not stupid." He moved closer. A combination of sincerity and concern washed over his face. "Why don't you trust me enough to tell me how you really feel?"

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
The situation took an unexpected twist. Lumina, was certain Zell would flail about and deny her teasing entirely. After all, he was quick to tell Serah that they were just friends. This time, he fired back with something out of left field. Zell asked if Serah was wrong. This caused Lumina to gasp before staring at Zell, clearly speechless. She raised her right index finger when he spoke again, as if wanting to correct him, only for no words to leave her lips.
Instead, Zell moved closer and Lumina leaned back against her chair. Right hand falling limp onto the arm rest as she could feel her cheeks betraying her. Blushing, she found herself pouting in frustration as she resigned herself to think for a moment. His words about not trusting him really stung. As Lumina couldn't answer if that was truly the case or not, she decided to throw her caution to the wind. "Fine." there was a strange undercurrent now. A sensation akin to static electricity only it wasn't tangible in the least. Lumina was feeling rather moody, a torrent of emotions going through her. "Serah's right..." she mumbled only to not be satisfied with her answer.
"It's just..." sighing, Lumina looked down to her lap, staring at the clipboard and feeling absolutely embarrassed. "I've never been in love before, Zell. My childhood was taken from me, a long time ago..." at which she silently mouthed 'by Lightning'. When she looked up to Zell, she focused all the resolve she could muster, stuffing down the instinctual desire to run away from this.
"In my own way, I think I tried to tell you but... You don't want that from me, so why would I force it on you?" Lumina admitted before looking away. "...Isn't that why you ran? I'm sure you could tell, even without Serah's provocation. I won't do anything to make you run again...so... No, I won't say anything." knowing that she contradicted herself a ton, most specifically regarding trusting him. In the end, she realized why she wanted so desperately to avoid this moment.
Lumina would settle for friendship, she'd scarcely had that, something she could identify and hold onto as her own and not Lighting's. Love and the crazy unknown that it represented, was absolutely not worth the risk! Even now, she felt like teleporting away, running to Serah and hiding behind her. "Wait, whose the older sister here?!" Running, was absolutely not an option right now! "I think... I'm being selfish right now." Lumina admitted, swallowing down the last of her instinct to run away. She looked Zell in the eyes, knowing she was probably red from head to toe now, especially considering how close he was. So, instead of running, she gently reached out to him with her left hand. Attempting to caress his right cheek with her hand, before smiling.
"I love you Zell. I want to be with you, no matter where we are. I will do anything in my power to make you happy."

"L-love??"
The answer that Zell received wasn't entirely the one that he expected forcing his eyes to widen in surprise. He'd already figured out that she was close and maybe wanted to be closer. In his mind, he was expecting her to say something along the lines of I like you a lot or even I //think// I love you. But Lumina really didn't hold back this time, which is what threw him off.
His hand rose to hold the one that Lumina placed on his cheek. It was pulled away, but Zell made sure to still hold onto it. This was a lot to take in, and he was scared of scaring her away by overreacting, thus making sure that he still had a hold of Lumina's hand.
"I-I mean, I don't know what to say." His words started to jumble once more. "I don't want you to feel alone anymore. That's why I'm here, and why I'll stay here. No more running."
With one hand holding hers and the other still free, the SeeD reached out and pulled the pinkette in closely for a hug. He made sure his arms wrapped around her frame with enough of a grasp to to make her feel secure and safe.

Claire's crewmates had done their job well, Serah had settled in well. She was offered a tour of the place but declined for now, only asking where she could get some drinks or food if she needed it. A lot had happened in such a short time. She was reunited with Claire for one. It was so wonderful to be able to talk to her again. Even better for it to be on their own terms.... well... mostly. She got to see Zell again to! It seemed like his journey was going well. On top of all that... she was on an airship! A comfy one to! She thought her time here would be sent just taking care of her Light in there little hut with Mog if she was being honest. Not that she had any issue with that... but it was nice getting out like this. She coudnt deny her curiosity of what this world was like. She did want to see it. She wanted to enjoy her time in this world with her sisters. Of course with her new friends to!
Another thing she coudnt deny was the timing of he belly. She MAY have forgotten to eat again after their time in the restaurant. It wasnt her fault though! She had to go check on Light and Mog before they left, and then she got lost in speaking with Zell and Claire while they got ready... then she fell asleep ..
.....maybe she got a LITTLE distracted.
That's what led to her making her way towards the eating area. That had been the plan but on her way She... sort of forgot where the eating area was exactly. She DID however remember where Claire's room was. So she figured she would simply go there and ask her! So she instead made her way to do just that! After all that would be far better than just wandering around lost.
"Hey Claire do you remeber where..."
Serah paused, yeah she had just overheard something amazing. Soemthing that left her standing their stunned for a moment, the happy grin plastered on her face as she did so.
"I love you Zell"
She told him! she really really told him! HEr sisterly instincts were abuzz. Happiness swelled in her chest, she was proud of her older sister, she had pulled up the courage to do it! Sure Zell hadnt said it in turn, but know what he was doing? Not just hiding each other's hands no no. They were holding each other, nice and close... it was so sweet!
In fact if they hadnt already noticed her, they surely would when she began her sqees of delight at the situation. Before finally, in one (rather loud burst)
"I called it! I knew you two could do it! ahhh!"
Yeah
Their woudnt be any escaping it with Serah now... not in her mind at least.

"What's it like to be up there, high above it all, without a care in the world~?"
In her mind, Lumina screamed yes when Zell spoke love. Though it was likely rhetorical, she nodded her head all the same. There was an immense weight off her shoulders now but dread filled her gut instead. The touch of Zell's hand along her own, felt warmer than it should be. Only for some lingering heat along her fingertips as he pulled her hand away. Time stilled now, as she awaited a gentle rejection. They were friends after all and this was... crazy!
...Rejection never came. Zell was speechless, he said as much. "Was...Serah right?" she couldn't believe it, for that was the one thing she doubted. Maybe that's why her breath was taken when Zell found his words, ones she didn't expect. Zell had learned something about Lumina that she thought was well hidden. Behind tricks, her mischief, a bubbly personality that was positively youthful. All things he'd come to associate about her, in some ways... they were a facade.
Carefully her eyes looked to their joined hands, Zell hadn't let go this whole time. Instead, he pulled her in close for a hug. A soft gasp escaped her lips as she closed her eyes. "Is this...the warmth Sera spoke of?" Lumina wondered as she felt herself melt into feeling secure, safe. That was when a memory returned to Lumina, something that symbolized the loneliness she felt for so long. Her world had been coming to an end, time was almost up. Lightning had made up her mind and Vanille was going to try and perform the Soul Song. It was do or die, rebel against God and try to claim the New World for humanity. Why then, did Lumina cling onto Lightning's arm. Asking her not to go, not to take everyone with her. Forcefully, Lightning had pulled her arm away, causing Lumina to fall. As Lumina watched her back, she said 'Don't leave me alone.'
On cue, Lumina was taken out of her memory, first by Zell's words. "Of course I trust you... I wouldn't have kept offering to take care of you if I didn't--" she felt herself leaning into Zell a bit, her right hand gently resting along his upper back. Before she could resume that feeling of safety and warmth, the second act came to pass. "S-Serah!?"
Lumina froze in place for a moment, beyond her quota of embarrassment and into the negatives. She found herself slowly looking towards the door. "Figures, she gets to sneak around with Snow, I get caught right in the act. Seriously, whose the older sister here...?!" there was no use trying to deny this. So, Lumina decided to embrace Zell tighter. "Humour me, Serah. How much did you see?"
