Welcome to Adventu, your final fantasy rp haven. adventu focuses on both canon and original characters from different worlds and timelines that have all been pulled to the world of zephon: a familiar final fantasy-styled land where all adventurers will fight, explore, and make new personal connections.
at adventu, we believe that colorful story and plots far outweigh the need for a battle system. rp should be about the writing, the fun, and the creativity. you will see that the only system on our site is the encouragement to create amazing adventures with other members. welcome to adventu... how will you arrive?

Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.
Hey, guys, we discussed at great length about the plot as well as the length of time it should, could, and probably would take over the holidays and the beginning of the year. As you all can see, there is a major event involving the great and powerful Chaos, God of Discord in Torensten (link on the site banner). This will be one of many plot threads, both major and minor, that us in staff will encourage you, the member, to take part in.
However, instead of this being linear, pre-written plot, we're taking a little bit of a more open ended approach to this.
Your characters, no matter their alignment, no matter their origins, can and will affect this plot, as well as the world surrounding it. Decisions made could affect other areas of Serentestra and even Zephon, while participation alone will affect the flow and direction of the site's plot. This, my friends, is our gift to you. A story that's more than just a guided tour at Disney Land. Involvement that spans more than a pre-scripted cutscene. This is an adventure that you, me, my fellow staff members, and any future members can write to our leisure.
But, before the fireworks start, I will post random (and sometimes obscure) threads like this with polls or even open ended questions, so then that way you don't just help mold the story, you help us keep it fresh and exciting for you, the fellow writer.
This particular poll is covering the anticipated length of this plot and future plots. The reason I'm asking you other than the fact that I'm SO into PR bullshit is because I value your opinion and choices. You joined our site, now it's time for us to give back in the form of good ol' member involvement! So, please, weigh in, and even post your opinions or questions below. We encourage you all to participate, even if it's just in this poll, and help us make this the best place for you.

You've got a lot of brass, or mayhap you're just lacking in brains!

I would LOVE a longer plot, but I'd be afraid to get involved in one going longer than 2-4 months. A lot can happen in 2-4 months, particularly on a roleplay site. People leave. The side could go on hiatus again. I think that 2-4 months is the perfect amount of time to plan for.
Also THIS IS A REALLY COOL IDEA AND I APPRECIATE YOU. =DD
Actually, there will be an advantage as several smaller plots will be utilized to tell a much larger story. Think of them as chapters in a book or sagas in a popular series. I intend to keep a good working flow with the story, so, in a way, several 2-4 month plots will actually make that long, satisfying story that I know you hunger for! This is still a new prospect for me and some other roleplayers we have on this site, because we're all used to site plots going:
"H-HEY! I WANT YOU TO JOIN MY THREAD BUT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO AFFECT IT CAUSE IT'S BEEN WRITTEN AND FINISHED KTHXBYE."
No, none of that. I'll be straight with you and everyone else here. Other than the finer points (with elements taken from Dissidia as well as an original plot I had intended for Zephon some time ago), there really is no planned plot. Some discussion will be had, as well as mild planning for thread openers as well as a particular aim for the thread, but we'll just be playing the characters like you guys. Hell, the main reason the Deities aren't really app-able is because they're friggin' Gods. Takes the term God-Mod to a whole new level when it's actually a given right due to their deity status.
I want this to be comfortable for everyone, a way they can advance a plot without inhibiting their creative freedom because of some entitled guy forcing his plot on others without a chance for their characters to do anything other than, well, watch as the story unfolds. I mean, they may as well be telling the story on Skype while their members silently listen and imagine how their characters could react, if they had any say at all.
The bottom line is, we're going to write this together. And I truly look forward to it.
Unless a plot is playing the long game, it really hurts a site if it drags on for longer than two to four months. Trust me: I've seen it happen on many other sites where a plot drags on for months and months and soon enough a year has gone by and the plot itself has hardly moved and the site itself is nearly dying in inactivity. Two to four months seems perfect; it's long enough to keep people engaged without causing them to become wholly disinterested. It's long enough to tell them that this is important, and that your choices matter.
The best way to run a site, especially a site based on a fandom such as Final Fantasy, is to make everything player and character driven. If you're just using your site to write your own prose fanfiction then that's not a way to do things at all. You have to cherish the input that your members give you, you have to take it into account and... well honestly you should keep doing what you're doing now. However, if there was one thing I'd do different, I'd have an endgame in mind instead of leaving everything open ended. Things can happen and plans can change, but it all leads down a similar path, if that makes sense?
it probably doesn't. I'm no good at words, and yet I choose for this to be my hobby anyway.
