This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.

Ey, guys, it's me! Your friendly neighborhood Dragon here! It's been a few months since I posted an update, so, here it is!
We've got several things in store for you, and by several, I mean a lot.
Am I gonna talk about them here?
Pff, no, it's a surprise!
But, anyways, I'm going to revisit a couple of things this time around so the newer people are in much better understanding of what we do here, as opposed to what every other substandard rp site does.
1.) Open Ended Plot!
This is an open ended plot. This means that the plot is not required for direct involvement, and the ending is far from written because it's going to be written by you guys. We'll provide the situations, you writers influence an outcome! Don't ever forget this, and be creative with your responses. It's your story!
2.) Respect thy friggin' neighbor!
That being said, we're pretty relaxed in terms of activity, word count and other minor things, which surprisingly hasn't backfired on us because trolls usually FLOOD IN and act like actual asshats when it comes to leniency.
But they're nowhere to be found.
Guess they know not to mess with my shit.
That being said, do not, do not, do not, do not, DO FUCKING NOT pressure someone into posting, writing in a specific style, or changing a thread simply because you don't like it or whatever. I appreciate and respect honesty, and if you feel the thread going nowhere, please, discuss it with your fellow writer. But for the love of Crichton, don't go out of your way to express dislike for a specific type of thread after joining it. This site runs off of the fact that we operate on the aformentioned leniency policy, a glorified "No pressure" policy, if you will. There is nothing more damaging to a writer's psyche than to hear ANYTHING resembling "I don't like your writing."
So, "I don't like the direction this thread is going" or "Are we going to do anything with this thread" or, my personal favorite, "I remember other threads starting like this and I saw them dead end" shouldn't be UTTERED on a site built on creative writing. If you seriously can't think of a creative way to keep a thread moving, then brainstorm with your fellow writer. Don't express dislike or disdain, especially publicly in my CBox where Etro and everyone can see your obvious distaste. Seriously, this place is supposed to be an escape from negativity.
I've already wasted two paragraphs on this. Please, don't make me do this again, I'll mega flare a bitch.
3.) Okay, lemme slide the soapbox back under my desk...
Really, guys, I just really like writing. Like, seriously, despite having practiced talent in drawing, singing, and a penchant for MLG level gaming, this is one of the most effective ways for me to deal with anything resembling depression. This place was literally conceived by me getting on Skype and asking Kupo if she wanted to make a site with me, and, though the plot hasn't moved far (my fault, I know ) this site has come a LONG way. A VERY long way, and we're still here, troll free for the most part, with active threads and people having a good time.
In the end, if this becomes a pressure or a negative influence in any way, take a step back. Talk to one of us, any of us, be it staff, writers, new members, guests, your fucking cat, I don't care, allow this place a chance to have a positive influence on your psyche.
The past month has been a trial for me. A literal Hell on Earth that I hoped I wouldn't ever experience.
But, here we are.
I won't go into the what in terms of what's going on, but I can express that it has made me physically, mentally and emotionally ill beyond measure. I can't write a single word. I can't find enjoyment in things I once used to, and it's one of the reasons I hadn't really shown up, let alone in the cbox. I made a commitment to keep this site alive when I created it, and I really wanted to express how much I appreciate my staff for putting their best feet forward in doing so. I know it's just a website, but when it comes to a project like this, that started with, literally "Hey, Red, let's make our own site!" we've literally come a long way from the beginning. It's a brainchild that, despite insurmountable issues in all four of our personal lives dealing with school, moving, marriage and other things, it's still here.
I wanted to extend a hand of thanks to the members who have stuck around, to the people who, despite the plot screeching to a halt (my fault), and major characters being inactive (aaalllllsooooo my fault), we're still kicking. Barely, but we are. It really means a lot that you're all here, and it gives me some hope and determination that I can return 100% stroger, and write with you all. I truly look forward to it.
But, right now, I literally can't. I've tried taking on side projects that required less social activity, but it didn't work. My focus has to be on the issue at hand, and I have found that distractions are not helping in the least.
I wanted to express that this site is far from dying. It's literally suffered inactivity worse than this mere months ago, and we've only just gotten started. I'll be working behind the scenes with other staff members to keep things moving as best as I can, but, unfortunately, direct involvement is going to have to wait.
As I would with you guys, all I ask is understanding. My life outside of writing and the arts calls for me to handle this with 100% of my focus, and it's taken a glorious amount of willpower just to survive this long.
I'm still alive, and I promise that won't change. Thank you guys, and please, write to your heart's content.

I'm not going to beat around the bush here very much. I am going through a very trying time in my life and will not be in the cbox very often, if at all.

Ugh, what happened? We got steamrolled with holiday lag a month late, that's what! But, don't fret, my Adventu-es-is-ies(?) I'm about to play a massive game of catch-up that will span over the next week in terms of threads, plot details, as well as some special plot related funtimes that I'm sure everyone will enjoy! I apologize for my own inactivity, but, I've been driving nearly non-stop and I can tell you with absolute certainty that I'll get my money's worth from it!

Rules are quite simple. You have until 01/24/16 to post your accounts that you want to keep (Or ones you want to delete) so then we can make a cleanup! Look at this doop here. You have until 2/5/16 to reply to this thingy. Why so long you ask? Well some people have school issues, family issues, or just having trouble with getting back into the swing of things. This has been a Ramen edit. If you don't get this, please, direct all questions to Kupo.
Now, it would be nice and easy if you used your tag (ex @ + admin (or your username) becomes ADMIN , if you're not savvy on that function yet.) however, if you just post the name of your character then that'll be all good for me.
Just put down in a post who you'd like to keep and who you'd like to get rid of, if that's the case, and once the 10th passes around, we'll set things right according to the information given. If you've posted an active absence, then your accounts should already be in Inactive, so you're counted as safe, so long as you gave at least one of the administrators notice.
So, as some of you know, I like to draw things, but lacked the motivation and, mostly, the time to do any sizable project with this particular talent of mine.
As a matter of fact, Zephon is actually a production I intended to use in a webcomic, once, but, HERE IT IS.
Basically, when I have the time, I'll be drawing, inking, and posting little snippets from different threads, as well as fanart that is plot specific as a little treat for you guys. I won't keep a schedule, nor will I ask for commissions because I'm not that great xD

HAPPY NEW YEARS, EVERYONE! That's not why I posted this, but-
Hey, fellow writers! With 2015 drawing to a close I wanted to post another update expressing my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for joining up and having fun on Final Fantasy: Adventu! In about fifteen days (or... when I remember to) I'll post an Activity Check. Now, since this one is operating differently, I'll go ahead and spill the beans here to keep everyone in the loop of how this site works.
As a person who spends time away from the internet, we all have bits of time where we might have to take days or even weeks off of a roleplay site. Now, I have a system here that will make it a bit more comfortable for everyone, and it's called (creatively) the Inactive System. You let staff know that you have to be gone for [X] Days, we'll place all of your character accounts into a new member group, Inactive, which will actually protect you for ONE to TWO ACs, barring extenuating circumstances. This means if you go without internet for some time, or a meteor crashes into your provider's HQ, or whatever, anything, you don't really even need to tell us why, just let us know, and we'll protect your characters.
Now comes the other part of the Inactive system. If you miss ONE AC, your account(s) will be placed into the Inactive Membergroup, and you will have a chance to return and claim the accounts and resume roleplay for 15-30 days. We'll be sure to send an email to the email us used for the account so you'll have some way to know, unless you're just flat without internet.
Either way, I don't run a very tight ship here. I'm easy going when it comes to real life, because shit happens, right? So, keep us informed! Keep your characters! Keep your plots!

Good evening (morning and afternoon, if you're catching this at the time). Just giving everyone a Happy Holidays from us here at Adventu! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or Giftmas, you be sure to have a good, safe one, and definitely have lots of fun... doing whatever it is you do during the holidays! Myself, I'll be spending time with my family, and will likely be non-existent over the weekend. Please, expect the same with my fellow staffers, as well as all members, and know that as soon as the holidays are over, huge things are going to happen, and we're all going to have a blast watching it unfold. Also, be advised that the next Activity Check will be held from February 1st - 15th. Reason it's so far away is so everyone can have a chance to get rebooted after the holidays.

Hey, guys, we discussed at great length about the plot as well as the length of time it should, could, and probably would take over the holidays and the beginning of the year. As you all can see, there is a major event involving the great and powerful Chaos, God of Discord in Torensten (link on the site banner). This will be one of many plot threads, both major and minor, that us in staff will encourage you, the member, to take part in.
However, instead of this being linear, pre-written plot, we're taking a little bit of a more open ended approach to this.
Your characters, no matter their alignment, no matter their origins, can and will affect this plot, as well as the world surrounding it. Decisions made could affect other areas of Serentestra and even Zephon, while participation alone will affect the flow and direction of the site's plot. This, my friends, is our gift to you. A story that's more than just a guided tour at Disney Land. Involvement that spans more than a pre-scripted cutscene. This is an adventure that you, me, my fellow staff members, and any future members can write to our leisure.
But, before the fireworks start, I will post random (and sometimes obscure) threads like this with polls or even open ended questions, so then that way you don't just help mold the story, you help us keep it fresh and exciting for you, the fellow writer.
This particular poll is covering the anticipated length of this plot and future plots. The reason I'm asking you other than the fact that I'm SO into PR bullshit is because I value your opinion and choices. You joined our site, now it's time for us to give back in the form of good ol' member involvement! So, please, weigh in, and even post your opinions or questions below. We encourage you all to participate, even if it's just in this poll, and help us make this the best place for you.
