I do figure this is after her thread with Emet, so feel free to have her be doing whatever!
I will live with my sorrow
It was only the second time that Yuna had visited the Divider, but even from the rocky pass above it, the tall crystal doors still took her breath away. Pausing to take in the sight, Yuna dipped into the traditional Yevon prayer before giving a small bow in their direction. This place might not have had anything to do with Spira, but the general feel of the area made her think that it was a holy enough site that it could apply to any of their worlds. She liked to think of it as having a connection to the Fayth, at any rate. There was as much solemnity in the air here as in any of the temples she had visited.
Yuna had just started to descend into the chasm when a wave of people suddenly swarmed up the path, and she was forced to leap out of the way to avoid being trampled. Her heart pounding in her chest, Yuna stared in shock as the screaming crowd ran past, grabbing one man’s arm when the bottleneck forced a few people close to her to slow their ascent.
“Please. Tell me what has happened here,” she implored him, but the man shook off her fingers, his ramblings about a ‘giant’ mostly getting lost in the din of the crowd. Biting her lip, Yuna stared at the narrow path that led down into the canyon before she resolutely took a step forward and started trying her best to fight through the crowd.
“Protect,” she murmured, casting a quick spell on herself that helped her from getting knocked backwards. She was shorter than most of the people rushing past after all, though thankfully the crowd seemed to mostly be concentrated at the front, and before long, she was able to walk normally with only one or two panicked people periodically rushing past her.
It was eerie to see the Divider so deserted. Normally it was crowded between the tourists, the merchant stalls, and the religious zealots, but as Yuna finally stepped down to look up fully at the Divider, it was almost deathly quiet.
“Hello?” Gripping her staff tighter in her hands, Yuna took a few cautious steps forward, spinning slowly in a circle to take in her surroundings. “Is anyone here? Any...giants?” She felt a little ridiculous saying that out loud, but it was one of the few words she’d been able to pick up from the fleeing man above.

Crystal. It was an amazing catalyst for powerful magic if one knew how to weave them properly. But to see a structure of this size crafted from the crystal, now that was impressive. It pulsed with an ancient and foreign power, lending a soft glow to the area surrounding it. Of course such an artifact would the attention of an amaurotine. After all, they too used crystal when crafting certain spells. But for Venat, it had been a subconscious pull to this ornate door. Memory was still difficult to come by, leaving behind broken fragments instead of complete stories.
It had never been intended for those that had been here to flee, but it was also impossible to lay blame on such tiny beings. Their actions and tones of voice had been riddled with fear as they ran away. It was no matter. There was no harm meant and if they chose to return, so be it. For now however, Venat's attention remained on the crystal gate. Her hand trailed along the intricate designs carved into the crystal to create such a thing of beauty. With her mind lost in thought, no attention was paid to the remaining occasional person that only now fled.
It was only when the area fell to a silent slumber that each careful movement echoed. The soft sound of fabric brushed the earth as Yuna's voice carried in the eerie stillness. Such a young voice to pierce the silence and beckon the unknown. A few moments passed with no response, the silence feeling as if it lasted for hours upon hours.
If crystal and stone lived and breathed as people do, in this moment, they would hold their breath as the sound of footsteps broke the silence. With every step, Venat's touch trailed the length of the crystal until the end was reached before looking out from behind the Divider to see who had spoken so fearfully while attempting to sound brave. At that moment, the gaze of an ivory white half mask would settle on the voice's owner, a newcomer clad in white, clutching a staff tightly.
"In oskh?" Just as the language that asked if there was a giant nearby was a strange and unknown one, the one that answered was as well. However, despite it being unlike anything heard before, the tone of what was spoken revealed that it had been a question posed to this stranger. The air around Venat as she had spoken was calm and rather nonthreatening, trying to dispel the thought that any harm was meant by her presence in this place. While waiting to see how this newcomer reacted, Venat's masked gaze looked past the stranger, into their very core. Their soul was one filled with a silent strength touched by light. It was a truly precious sight to see something so pure.

I live for the people of Spira, and would have gladly died for them, but no more!
Everything was so silent that Yuna could even hear the faint hum of magic that the crystal doors gave off. It was unnerving--the Divider had been quiet in a solemn way when Yuna was here before, but it had also been crowded with people. Now, almost all the stragglers had fled up the canyon, and Yuna was left feeling like the only person in the world as she spun in a slow circle to examine her surroundings. Honestly, nothing looked out of the ordinary besides how deserted the holy site was. Whatever threat the people had encountered, it looked like it was long gone.
Suddenly, the ground beneath her feet shook slightly, and Yuna gave a startled look towards the tall crystal gate as heavy footfalls echoed in the air. The next moment, a curious face peered around the side of the doors to look at Yuna. Its owner stood nearly 30 feet off the ground, and Yuna let out an undignified squeak as she stepped back and raised one hand to her mouth in surprise.
The woman asked a question in a language that Yuna had never heard before, but even in her fear, she could tell that the cadence of the language was as clear and beautiful as the ringing of a bell. The words weren’t hostile, which stayed Yuna’s hand even though her gut reaction had been to call for Shiva’s aid. As her thoughts raced to take in the situation, Yuna was a little ashamed that her first reaction had been to fight. The stranger’s face was covered in a white half-mask, but her expression was more curious than anything, and while the visitors to the Divider had fled, there was no evidence that anyone had been hurt.
With that in mind, Yuna didn’t think that this giant was dangerous. Truthfully, she was beginning to think that the masked stranger bordered more on the divine than anything. Going with her instincts on that, Yuna slowly lowered her staff and knelt down before the gargantuan woman.
“I’m sorry. I’m afraid I don’t understand…” Scanning the woman’s face for a hint, she spoke her next question slowly. “What about you? Do you speak this language?” Just in case she didn’t understand, Yuna also held out her hand to the stranger in a universal gesture and did her best to smile up at her. “Do you need help? You could come with me.”
Somewhere. She probably couldn’t take her to any cities without the residents panicking unfortunately, but she was determined to figure something out.

The initial reaction from Yuna was far from lost on Venat. The way the muscles tensed and the grip tightened ever so slightly on the staff had given it away. It was a shame that violence and fear seemed to come before education but that only served to add more truth to Hades' revelation that this was a different realm than their own. The longer Venat's gaze remained settled on Yuna, the more it felt as if the gaze peered into her very soul, weighing the very being of the only person to step towards a potential danger and face it rather than run. It was very much like the Warriors of Light that had been so beautifully described in the tales of her associate.
The only time the gaze slipped from Yuna was to rest on the staff as it was lowered. Though the gesture was simple, it spoke volumes by itself and was an easy way to offer peace. The words that accompanied Yuna's gesture also held no ill will, that much Venat was certain of. Fragments of the spoken words were lost, but those that remained held enough meaning to piece together what was meant with some thought.
Venat's gaze remained lowered, her masked visage stayed empty while the mind behind it worked on a solution. Communication was key and so was not creating the type of panic that had just occurred only moments ago. Learning the language of this realm seemed to now be a much higher priority than trying to decipher just how this gate was used. The gaze slipped back to Yuna's outstretched hand as her mind settled on the offer for help. Yes, the help would be nice but there were a couple major, quite obvious problems that would need to be addressed first.
The first issue was simply a matter of making people not panic or grow violent just by appearing. As was evident by the people that fled here and in the nearby plains, it was the size that frightened them. In that case, it was something easily remedied with some of the many magicks the Amaurotines held within their arsenal. Magic, when woven properly, could be very subtle even while being very obvious. The type of magic that was being called on happened to fall in the subtle range as it was nigh undetectable except for those who could see the ebb and flow of it's work. This time, though the magic itself was imperceptible, it's effects were far from invisible.
With each movement drawing the giant form of Venat closer to Yuna, the subtle magic that she'd woven gradually made her form grow smaller until she stood before the young summoner and a near equal height. The change was a drastic one but nonetheless one that was necessary to prevent the people from reaching instant aggression or terror. It certainly felt strange to so small but it was nothing but a harmless yet necessary inconvenience especially if it meant making things easier in the long run.
The second and more glaring an issue, was the matter of language. Sure, Hades had been kind enough to assist in teaching her a few things but it was hardly enough to really hold a conversation or glean any sort of insight from others without the help of the someone who undoubtedly could speak both. "Please, stand." The words felt foreign as they fell from her lips in a soft, gentle tone. From the accented undertone of the words, it was hopefully obvious that she was still learning. However, an assumption meant an uncertainty that could be taken incorrectly. That wasn't acceptable in this case but finding the appropriate words to aid was becoming increasingly difficult as time the moment progressed. "I...speak little." That was the right way to word that, right?

Yuna didn’t have a lot of hope that the giant could understand her based on the odd cadence of the language that she had spoken first. The tones had been beautiful, but the sound had been almost incomprehensible to Yuna’s ears, so she only prayed that her gestures would be understood in place of her words. Her kneel. Her offered hand. She hoped those were universal signals of respect and that she’d like to help.
The blank, masked face seemed to be considering her from above, and Yuna felt a little as if her soul was being peered into. She wondered if that was how others had felt when she’d performed the sending on them, but she didn’t have long to dwell on it as the enormous figure took a step towards her.
For a moment, Yuna wasn’t sure what had happened. The tall crystal gate had been reflecting sparkling patches of sunlight down into the canyon when she’d first arrived, but the masked stranger had been tall enough to block most of it. However, a patch of sunlight suddenly struck her face, and as Yuna raised a hand to block it, she realized the woman was right in front of her looking down at her. A few feet down at her.
“Oh! Startled, she clapped a hand over her mouth as she instinctively jumped to her feet, finding that the stranger was nearly her same height now. “I’m sorry.” Yuna’s nervous laugh was partly in relief that she didn’t have to hide a giant in the countryside now, though she would have tried to make it work either way. “I didn’t know you could change. That makes things easier.”
Yuna didn’t really expect a response, so she was a little startled when the woman spoke and Yuna could understand. She had a lovely voice--it was soft and her accent was full of pleasing, lilting tones. She thought that the woman could have said anything at all and it would have sounded beautiful, so she shook her head quickly when she said she didn’t speak much. “Please, don’t worry about it. Learning a second language is difficult.” Yuna had always wished that she spoke more Al Bhed so that she could better connect with her mother’s side, but that had never seemed to be in her future. It was still sad to think about, even though she supposed it didn’t matter much that she hadn’t learned now that she was on Zephon.
Yuna lightly touched her own chest as she smiled at the silver-haired stranger. “I’m Yuna,” she said, giving the woman a small bow as she spoke. “What about you?” It felt like an oddly casual way to introduce herself when she’d met her while she was about 6 times her current height, so Yuna wasn’t able to contain her curiosity as she peered at the white mask. “If you don't mind. Where did you...come here from?” She asked, glancing up at the gates that now towered over both of them. If the crystal wasn’t sealed shut as firmly as it always was, she’d have almost thought that her companion had stepped right out of them.
