Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.
Pleased that he had accepted, Selene smiled with a quick nod of her head. "Sure thing." She set about down the dirt path once more, heading further and further from the town. Every so often, she'd glance back just to make sure her company hadn't left her. There was comfort knowing she was not traveling by herself, even if she could hold her own in a battle. Her sword swung behind her, attached to a strap on her hip. It had honestly been a while since she had properly used it, but she was confident that she'd get the hang of it quickly. However, having an extra hand was not something she'd deny if offered.[break][break]
The town slowly grew more and more distant until finally, she could no longer see it. It was the prime place for an ambush to a caravan. Just out of town where it'd take a while for the townsfolk to come help. Far enough away to not be able to hear their screams... Selene really hoped they'd find the coeurls. Those poor people did not deserve this.[break][break]
"Ah!" she finally exclaimed. She stooped low to the ground and let her gloved finger brush over the dirt. An imprint of a clawed paw was stuck in the dusty ground. "I think that's a good sign." As she stood back up to her feet, she glanced around. "But where could they be..."

Caius didn't stray far behind, nor did Vordun. The blonde and the dragon kept pace with Selene, though Caius slowed down here and there while Vordun was still adjusting to the terrain. He refused to leave the drake behind, and that spoke of just how much care there was between Caius and Vordun. Eventually Vordun was able to acclimate better and his speed picked up, and thus so did that of Caius. Caius next noticed the woman's sword on her back. It didn't seem to be recently used, judging by its condition and the lack of more recent nicks on the blade. Was she even a fighter on the norm, or perhaps did she just not need to take work until recently? It merited investigating, he supposed.
"Any chance I could learn a little more about you while we're traveling together, Selene?" he inquired curiously. "Some of your background, as well as your battling capabilities, might make it easier to strategize when we eventually find your mark" he brought up. While it was partly curiosity over this was even safe for her, he did actually have that practical reasoning too.
Though soon enough, a ways away from town, Selene had found something. Proving herself to be a skilled tracker, she had found a print of what she seemed to think was the creature they were looking for. He curtly nodded his head. "Any idea where they might have gone?" he inquired. "It's possible they have a cave stashed somewhere."
His questions, for a time, went unanswered. For one, she didn't know where to start. The thought of her home made her eyes water. A home that was long lost, one that she would never be able to go back to... She knew that. The last memories of her home were of it going up in flames. She didn't truly know if it was gone, but... tales of the previous calamities that befell Hydaelyn made her wonder. Made her sad. If he looked closer at her sword, he would see that it looked so worn and unused because it had been licked by flames. Flames that Selene had... died to.[break][break]
But she was here. For some reason, she was given a second chance. She could no longer hear Hydaelyn's voice, but that was alright. This and more rampaged through her mind nearly at all times. That was why, for second, she let the coeurls take up her attention. She was focused on tracking, finding, and killing them so she could avert her thoughts to something else. It was only when she had figured out their path that she finally began to speak once more.[break][break]
"I think they headed that way," she began, pointing in the direction the path led. "Other than their tracks, I have no way of knowing where they went. That is why this mission has been so difficult to complete. The townsfolk get ambushed every time they try..." She clenched a fist. There was no way she'd let any more die because of these creatures.[break][break]
As the trio set along the path once more, she took it as an opening to let him know a bit more about herself. Selene smiled and looked up to the sky. "I'm Selene Merrows, a free Paladin for the people. Back home, I was..." her head dropped back to its normal position, her shoulders slumping slightly. "A Warrior of Light. Though I think it was just a fancy title, in all honesty..." Even if it had been something more than a title, she didn't know how to explain it. "I know my way around a sword, so plesae don't worry about that." She managed to wink playfully as she turned to face him, walking backwards for a time. "What about you? How did you meet Vordun?" Selene looked to his companion, her smile growing wider. "I've been in search of a chocobo to call my own. As you can probably tell, I haven't succeeded in that, either..."

Silence. That had been what Caius had been greeted with when he had asked his questions. He hoped that he hadn’t offended her by asking his questions, it was far from his intention. She seemed like a nice girl, but her sad face, and slowly growing more agonized by the moment at that, was starting to become concerning. He hoped he didn’t upset her, he really did. But eventually, after a long silence, she spoke up. She started with their quarry, first up. Selene stressed that the monsters had been ambushing anyone who had tried to get rid of them, and it was difficult to gather information on them due to it. Which meant they had been striking fast most likely… And striking deadly. They needed to be at their best.
She then decided to talk about herself a bit more, which was appreciated. Selene Merrows, a “Paladin” for the people, a “Warrior of Light”... Where had he heard that name before? Someone else had once called themselves Warrior of Light, though Caius had referred to them as “horns”... Either way, she stressed she could handle herself, and he smiled warmly in turn. “We’ll find out soon enough,” he responded. Indeed, they’d find out best in the heat of battle.
She asked about him then, and he shrugged. “Well, my name is Caius Dragelion. I’m a mercenary working out of Torensten, for the Dragonblades Mercenary Guild. We do jobs that focus on helping folks, and typically use the funds to prep us for when threats hit the area. We serve as a makeshift peacekeeping force when needed” he elaborated. “I raised Vordun myself, from a hatchling. We’ve been near-inseparable for pretty much his entire life.”
She said she wanted a chocobo, and he thought it over a moment. “You’re in the right place. Provo is fraught with chocobo farms and racing. Perhaps you just haven’t found them yet.”
