She doesn't want to be okay, without them.
There was a colorful military parade going on right now, full of splendor and light. She watched in awe for a few minutes, as the crowds gathered and they swarmed in. They collected stardust from the street lights as the evening fell, it became apparent that the music was too loud and Selphie's ears popped as she heard the sound of wind chimes in her ears. She thought of Winhill and the duckling that ran around the dust trails. The flower shop where Sir Laguna said Raine used to dwell. She talked to him at length about the idea of opening a flower shop in Esthar, but everything was desert and high tech. Sir Laguna, he missed him. She missed his son too. He was now King of Balamb and it drove her mad that she couldn't help from here. It wasn a daunting task, being seventeen and the leader of a free world.
The music was too loud, she was zoning out and decided to disappear into the crowds with her coat around her shoulders. It wasn't that cold but nightfall near a desert meant chill and warmth as hard to come by. Winhill. She wanted to visit there again and hang by the beach, have a picnic. She missed her home world even though it had been six days. She missed the children she was teaching and the town they were building. She missed Fujin's depth and explorations on creativity. She missed Seifer's chatter and healthy cooking. He made the best muffins. Rinoa taking too long naps after reading romance novels, and Quistis ...huh, she didn't hang with her that much. She should do that. She should. She wanted to find out everything about everyone.
Selphie wished she was in her kitchen with Edea, making candy or making flower arrangements with Xu. It should be Christmas time back in Balamb. It seemed to be summer here. She pushed past the crowd, and disappeared into an alley. She would look at the weapons shop later and find her own personal weapon. The katana was usable, but she didn't want to use it for much longer. She walked down a hill, in the distance was a stream going down by the river. She heard the bubbling waters, and the rush of life, the frothy white foam dancing over the surface. She kinda liked rivers better than a beach. She wished she had a fishing pole, or that Zell was around to fish with. Seifer too. She wanted to go home. She missed home. She wanted to find a grave site and do a grave rubbing of the odd names in this land for Irvine. If she ever made it back.
She could hear the music in the distance, as she sat down on a stone boulder, crossing a leg and staring out into the liquids that moved over rocks. She heard a horn blare and got scared. "It's not... time, right?" Eden sighed. 'Selphie. This world has it's own end, but we must get back to our world so we can have our end." Selphie swallowed. "I don't want the world to end, no world to end unless we usher in nirvana." Eden chuckled fondly. "Selphie. Who are you afraid might die in the battles for heaven on earth?" She bit at her lip, wishing Seifer and Fujin were to qualm her fears. "Who, Selphie? Who are you scared for? You're safe." Selphie pursed her lips. "Mmmm…." There was a mother's kiss, her temple tingled and she frowned. "You should have told them." Selphie shrugged. She heard footsteps approaching. "Shh, no more talking. I'm Sorry, Edie." She felt a little fear, but not too much.
She felt bad quieting an ancient GF that apparently had no beginning or end. It was also strange she couldn't summon her here. It made her sad. There were no tough battles besides dragons and summoning Eden would help tremendously when she was on her own. There was also the trouble of having no added attributes from the GF's she had functioned. They were in her head but she wasn't able to use their abilities. She put her chin in her hands. She needed party members. Plenty of them. Maybe three-four? Why was she even here? She had over 10,000 Gil. Too much Gil even. Her stomach growled. "What I wouldn't give for strawberries and sugared cream. I don't trust the food after visiting the shumis, I may be an alien in a strange land but I've had my share of being scared of local restaurants and in guest dining." She stared into the waters, the rush so loud. She would be okay, she knew she would be.
