Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.
"Abssolutely. If it were eassy, the sskiess would be filled with airsshipss." Ka'ssol pointed out with a chuckle. It wouldn't be the first time he's had to practically break himself to earn something of value. It's just he usually earns it through unscrupulous methods. However, that probably won't work here, as he's still somewhat unfamiliar with this world. One lucky find does not change that. The bangaa had been delving into ruins for weeks, and more often then not, he only turned up small items that sold for a gil or three.
"Torenssten iss a good sstarting point then. Good to know" the lizard-man agreed. Merc work would probably suit him better then continuing to pick this place over. Especially after THIS encounter. A 100-gil trip is not worth a behemoth. Though this skystone was worth FAR more then that, it's an outlier, and not the norm. Plus, Ka'ssol wasn't going to sell it anyway.
"Well, Meko was a geniuss, even among other moogless. I feel very lucky to have befriended him. ...And admittedly, I misss hiss company greatly." the bangaa lamented, his shoulders sagging for a moment. "...But he would not approve of ssuch ssadnesss, sso, I'll ssave it ssomething else." he realized, chuckling to himself once again.
"I only know how bangaa dragoonss work. We do not have much affinity for magickss, but we can usse what we have, along with sstrict training, to imitate the abilitiess of dragonss. Advanced dragoonss from my world could use elemental breath attackss like the great wyrmss themsselvess. Unfortunately, I did not learn to control my Jump well, becausse I did not agree with the sstrict dogma the bangaa dragoonss adhered to. I prefer my freedom, and I did not wissh to be bound to a Clan ass an alternative to military sservice. ...Sso I ssort of dropped out." he explained.
Of course he wasn't idle while talking, he was heading in the direction Caius was, towards the town. It wouldn't do for them to stand around talking forever. What if the creature returned? Or other creatures showed up? Caius and his partner might be fine, but Ka'ssol was a little tired. Using abilities one has not mastered takes up more energy then normal, and he didn't have a high energy level to begin with. Something he was going to have to work on.
“Trust me. I’ve been eyeing that big, shiny new airship since I got here” Caius admitted with a small laugh. “Granted, it’s not as necessary now that I have… Well, you know…” He trailed off as he motioned to the drake behind him, making a few whistling noises to emphasize his point. “We’ll probably work on flying together when he’s a little bigger. Too small right now, but the little guy is growing fast. It wasn’t all that long ago that he could fit in my jacket and be carried around everywhere. Feels like a bloody lifetime ago, but…” He remarked with a casual shrug. “Well, here he is."
"Either way, I get the idea" He added. "And I’m sure with a lot of work, you’ll earn that airship eventually. Would definitely recommend mercenary work. Treasure hunting's fun, trust me, I know. But a steady job will definitely get the job done much faster, and you can certainly still hunt on the side" He spoke up as he and Vordun began walking toward town, keeping pace with the hissing one while they spoke. Variety really was the spice of life, wasn't it? That was something that Caius had found anyway. Mercenary work and all the different scenarios that he got into, and the occasional adventuring and treasure hunting. It was a good life, at least by what he knew. Far better than the life that he used to live -- something that he had begun to realize more and more by the day.
He listened as Kas first spoke about a Moogle, or something like that, that he missed. He didn't know what a Moogle was, but he nodded his head. "I hope that your reunion, if possible in the living world, is one that arrives soon" He spoke calmly. While the lizard man's capabilities were impressive, it sounded as though he had only scratched the surface of what he could have learned under his clan.
"Nothing wrong with doing what makes you happy, even if not everyone agrees with it" Caius responded. "And nothing says you can't work hard and learn how to master it your own way. I'm sure their training isn't the only way. And if you already have the basics as you do... Even better."
Caius had spent the last year honing his existing abilities as far as he could. He did not need the Kingsglaive to do that. So he knew this by experience, and hoped he would take the advice as far as possible.
Ka'ssol listened attentively. He nodded and began to tap his jaw, as if thinking. "You know...that'ss not a bad thought. Sseek out your own path, get advice when you need it, and apply what you learn in your own way." he said, a grin growing on his snout.
"I ssupposse I'm doing that now. taking your advice and applying it to my ssituation." he chuckled, watching the dragon for a moment. "...I wonder if that iss asss fun asss it lookss." he commented, the bangaa meaning flying. "I heard the dragoonss' leapss were patterend after a dragon'ss flight. Sseeing your companion move around, I can ssay they have fallen a little sshort of their goal. But perhapss it could be further refined." Ka'ssol continued with a soft chuckle.
"Yess. I do belive I sshall do both mercenary work, and treassure hunting on the sside. I believe that talking to you hass given me a new, and much more focussed purposse. Thank you Caiuss." he said, nodding softly to his walking companion.
The bangaa had a lot to think about, but mercenary companies were close enough to Clans that he is certain he'll get the hang of it fairly quickly. "On another note, perhapss, if I were to ever meet up with my companion again, I could get him to posssibly make you a cusstom weapon to usse in conjunction with your current armormentss." he suggested with a smile. "Meko would certainly enjoy your company, at the very leasst. The little fellow alwayss had a sspecial sspot in hiss heart for humess." he continued, absently counting how many filled canisters he still had. Four. That should be enough for at least the next couple days, while the empty six recharged. Some were almost ready, in fact.
The way back seemed uneventful for the most part, at least for now, and Ka'ssol was quite happy with his new, if temporary traveling companion. Once they got back to the city, the bangaa would absolutely make sure Caius knew that he could count on the reptile for anything he might need in the future. After all, Caius and Vordun had basically saved his life. "...One lasst thing, before I go to find ssome room in an inn ssomewhere. Do you think that encounter with the behemoth sshould be reported to ssomebody?"
The reptile seemed to find a few ideas for a path to take based off their talk, which he was happy to hear. Caius was glad to help in any way he could, and he was happy that he had been able to assist in some measure. Whether through his seeking out a path to better his own abilities his own way, or just finding his way in this world, if Caius could say he had even a small part in this... Then that made his day.
"The Dragonblades are always hiring" He pointed out with a small smile when he indicated he was interested in mercenary work. "They do have a bit of a criteria, but by what I've seen of you, I doubt that you'll have much problem. There's a woman in Torensten who goes by Celes. She is one of their two commanders, I'd seek her out if you're ever interested. Just don't make her mad" He remarked, laughing a bit at the end. "Even I'd be terrified to face her when she's mad. But yeah, a place to stay, a group of allies with similar goals and a place to find jobs can't hurt. And a lot of their jobs specialize in helping people, if that's something that strikes your fancy."
Kass would remark that his friend would be able to make Caius a weapon if he so chose, and he smiled lightly. "I design my own weapons, but I'd love to see what your friend is capable of one day."
Once they were at the city, it seemed that this would be their parting of ways. Though Kass brought up one last thing. Asking if the behemoth should be reported.
"I can do it" Caius remarked warmly. "I can find a guard on my way back to base and ensure that the remains are dealt with. Don't worry about that. It wouldn't be my first time" He remarked with a laugh.
Giving Vordun a pat on the head, he watched as the dragon soon flew off to head to the homestead. Caius would meet him there once he had touched base with Celes about the Behemoth that had been far too close to town. He then turned to Kass once more.
"I wish you the best, Ka'ssol. I hope you find what you're looking for."
