Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.

He could say, unlike in his old world, freelance work certainly paid well. Having actual funds that reflected his work was... Different. Actually, it was even more than he earned as a member of the Kingsglaive, though considering that was a world in the process of rebuild... Well, he supposed it was a given. Still, he hadn't truly realized the true worth of the amount of work he had been putting in all those years as a hunter of monsters and a full-blooded mercenary until he had come to this world. Yet... He still wasn't happy, deep down. If he wanted to, he could afford a place now to settle down, but he still hadn't. He still didn't feel as though he belonged in this world, belonged anywhere here. Work was the only purpose he found now. At the least, he didn't have to fear whether he would eat tomorrow. That was... Something he was still getting used to, despite having been in the Kingsglaive a year before this, and having spent a year here where the economy was better. He could never seem to shed his old life. But he wanted that new life, he wanted that new purpose...
But it was so far away now. And he couldn't do a damn thing about it. Everything that he had worked for, everything he'd strived for, his hopes and dreams, his old family and new, his sense of belonging... It was gone, all gone. All he could do was move forward. But to where? He didn't know where. Perhaps this mercenary's life was it. Perhaps this was how he would live for the remainder of his days, and it would be how he would die. One bit of bad luck on a job was all it would take to put it all to an end, after all.
The mercenary had decided to stop in Prevo, for resources and to find work. While there, he had restocked on what he needed, and had even found work while checking the boards. A simple escort job. Kind of boring, but it would do, as it seemed to pay fairly well. An escort job that paid more than his monster hunting work was a job he was fine with taking, even if there was little known thrill to it. Though there was always the chance it could become a bit more exciting...
Once he had everything established, the young man would slip into a tavern in town for a drink. Or bar, or inn, or whatever they called it here. Despite having been here a full year, he was still getting used to what they called things instead of what they called them in his world...
He was not there, the tavern filled with the bustle of the everyday workings of your common laborer.
Laughing and loud conversation filled every corner of the room even as the newcomer entered, the man named Caius but also Josh. A few precursory glances were thrown his way but the general atmosphere seemed quiet content to stay in it's situated calm.
Then, he was there.
It was not an entrance or appearance of energy or exuberance. It was merely a transitioning of the then to the now, at first there was what was and now there was what was AND the man in the black cape.
The man caused no disturbance, no one really noticing his sudden existence in the room and the near instantaneous and silken movement that brought him to the bar near Caius. Yet, to any with a sense of awareness or used to mapping the space around...this man was all at once very noticeable.
With the same ease and speed, the man in the black cape spoke in a voice that was somehow at the same time both quiet and utterly piercing. It demanded immediate satisfaction and attention, rippling with raw intent and yet cascading gently over Caius as it's sole target.
" Do you hear them still? Do you feel their hands laboring at your ankles?"
The words were too direct and personal, but the smile visible from underneath the man's drawn hood was not mocking in the slightest. Instead, the expression seemed sympathetic if not burdened by sorrow, itself.
Upon looking at the man in the black cape, one would notice him of impressive but not awesome height. He was possessed of well physique, most of his actual body hidden beneath the folds of his cape but black leather belts and boots being capable of seen from certain angles.
This was obviously a person who was looking to enjoy their anonymity.

A drink... A drink would help delay the effects of his ails. He could afford to drink now, and that too was something he was still adjusting to. He was used to rationing everything, from food to water to everything to survive... He wasn't used to any sort of luxury still, including recreational drink. He'd been here a year and yet, still, it didn't feel real to him. Yet while it tasted bitter, it helped him forget a little... That was what Caius needed. It was almost a little sad to think about for him, to know that he'd gone from a proud member of the Kingsglaive to needing a nulling supplement in liquid form in order to cope.
He'd taken his seat at the bar, and had his order slid over. With eyes that spoke of lament as his loneliness would overcome him, he would hope that he could just forget for a little while... And then be able to pursue the morning with no thoughts of any but the job at hand. He could get over the hangover during the trip, he had decided.
"Do you hear them still? Do you feel their hands laboring at your ankles?"
The voice was calling to him, nearby him. He knew it was to him, he didn't wholly understand the words, but he knew it was, somehow, directed at him. The tone somehow made him feel like he was being threatened, and he considered for a moment materializing his blade. He felt shivers running down his spine... Words that were not the same as the man's tongue ringing in his head. It was softer, a sing-song voice. And yet it chilled him to the bone.
"Estuans interius
Ira vehementi
Estuans interius
Ira vehementi"
It rang in his head, and he wanted it to stop. He hadn't even begun drinking yet and already his reality felt... Well, not real. There was something wrong with the one who had spoken. He didn't know what it was, but something felt wrong... Inhuman...
Not human, then what?
Perhaps...
A force of nature.
He slowly turned his head to look toward the cloaked figure, and after a moment of staring, he would respond with his usual blunt sass.
"No, sir. I'm not hearing context still, I haven't heard any context to begin with. Would you care to enlighten me?"
