At first the man seemed ready to deny her, causing the pre teen to pout, crossing her arms . Ah come on! She couldn't miss this chance! There were lots of cool sights around her home, but it was rare she saw someone like the man before her and his partner. He had this cool dark warrior kind of vibe she hadn't draw yet. How could she resist something like that? She wanted to capture it in her art!
”Oh come onnnnn please? You won't regret it! I'll capture all your best features!”
The floating creature however seemed to support her wants however, causing the young girl to jump up and down in excitement, the look of eagerness clear on her face as she rocked back and forth.
”Yes! Listen to the cool monster head please! I won't get models like you two for a long time I know it! Come onnnnn”
She attempted to give what might call the ‘child pout’ , that is, those eyes that kids give you to try and get their way, along with the frown to accompany. One of Relm’s dreaded skills truly! Along with her unheard of guilt trip ability (As a certain octopus for how that goes!)
Though she'd then stop when asked about her parents, Interceptor noticeably stalking behind her, as if glaring. Relm herself frown, losing a considerable pep to her step.
”I… don't know where my parents are, they should be here I think, but it's just been me and Interceptor since I hit my head or … whatever happened to me, I don't know. No one here is my mom or dad I know, I asked. Maybe they had to go somewhere, heh… bet my dad's some kind of hero, yeah that's defiantly it! Why else wouldn't they be here right?”

When she had first come to these markets the various shopkeepers had of course found such a small girl doing these things seemingly alone strange. Her only companion was the dog ever firmly at her side. Over time however they got used to her, after all the girl had memory issues, what was more her art had become quite popular among the townsfolk. She had done portraits of the businessmen, of their products for them to advertise… even their animals! As such some of the vendors had taken to accepting a commission from as an interchangable exchange with normal currency when paying for her meals for her and Interceptor. This was why she could be seen hoisting one of her larger paintings off of her partner and dog friend, and why said dog friend was now helping her carry that food back through the market.
”Hehe… that's another great day huh Interceptor?”
Said dog had a sort of mixed reaction, he was of course happy for the little girl he traveled with, his charge left from his long time partner. But at the same time he was still very untrusting of everyone in this world. It was good that Relm thought herself a resident of this world, it made things easier for them-the town saw her as nothing more than an orphaned child and her family pet, rather than wanderers from another plane.
Regardless, he of course woudnt allow anyone to take advantage of the small girl, as attached as he was. Like a Guardian Angel, one could say.
It really was a shame that, lacking her memory of the events she has been through-she had all the self preservation of a child half her age when she saw something that interested her. In this case that was the floating monster head floating next to the man in full armor, that she was now running towards eagerly. You know, that thing that would give any seasoned adventurer pause to observe it, much like Interceptor himself was.
But unlike Interceptor and his long time partner Relm was not a gruff, harderend killer.
No she was an eleven year old that very much enjoyed seeing new things, cute things, cool things, artistic things!
And so that was what the pair would see run up to them, with a clear ton of gidiness behind her as she hopped up and down with a smile in her face.
”Hey! Hello! Listen can I paint you and your friend? You both look cooooool! I can make you a copy to! Ahh I just can't miss this opportunity, please!”
Much like Interceptor and his old partner perhaps the pair to had the sense to show concern of the clearly dangerous thing in front of them. Not Relm herself of course, but the food carrying dog very clearly giving them the coldest glare it could manage despite the young artist’s eagerness. In fact Relm noticing such a possibility proceeded to wave her hands to try and dissuade such worry.
”Oh don't worry! He doesn't eat strangers or anything!”
But then she squinted, rubbing her chin in thought before turning to Interceptor for a moment.
”Well, I'm pretty sure anyway, right Interceptor?”
The answer came with… well no answer, Interceptor was very protective after all and thus never stopped eyeing the people they had approached, eventually Relm sighed, clasping her hands together and turning back to the pair.
”Well he won't attack you for no reason anyway! So how about that painting?”

If there was something scary for a young child, It was being lost in a world she should know. It was terrifying to look around and not recognize anything, not the ground she walked on nor the people she saw on it. She didn't know what happened to her, why she didn't know anything, she didn't remember anything about this place, She.... she wasn't sure she remembered anything about herself at the time. All she knew was that she was small, she was young and she was alone.
And that being alone... hurt her heart, she didn't like it. She knew that being alone felt.... wrong. Why was she alone?
For a while she cried. She cried again and again. She cried because she was scared, she cried because she was alone. She cried because she didn't know anything around her. She cried because she wanted to see something, someone, anything she recognized. She cried but at the same time... she survived, as well she could. Instincts she didn't know she had, but possessed none the less, like motor skills ingrained in her head, like muddied little whispers in her head giving her some hint of what to do.
This is safe Relm.
Now tie it like this Relm... No, a little more over.. there you go.
They leave alone if you....
Maintaining your equipment is important, remember to check...
Many were useful, some useless and... weird. What was she supposed to do with the knowledge she would grow up to be a beautiful woman one day? Or well... she assumed that's what it was getting at anyway. Yet she clung to them. She clung to the shards that were useful, she clung to the shards that were useless. She clung to all the shattered glass that was her mind just to have something!
She did that for as long as she could to help her get by, she did it to get closer to the lights far off, the lights that were surely somewhere safe. she did it as she got closer and it came into view. Soon she would get to the town, it was true-but not before one faithful obstacle was overcome.
The darkness of night consumed the sky, rain fell long and hard. It was a storm.
Relm was not prepared for a storm let alone the creatures that came with it. She was a lost child, pounded by water and unable to fight back properly. The serpent monsters that came with the storm, to hunt the vulnerable prey they could-they weren't something she could fight off at the time, she didn't know how. She tried to punch one in desperation, but it had very little impact,at most make it flinch back some and making the others more angry. In the end she was backed against a tree, Soaked to the bone and closing her eyes. Closing her eyes and hoping for something.... something.... anything....
And a piercing howl filled the area
The girl opened her eyes to see one snake fallen and a large, black dog standing steadfast in front of her. Without mercy it engaged the other two and, it wasn't long before they had fallen. She was frightened at first once the dog turned his attention to her. But... He was nice. and besides he was pretty adorable once you got past the fierce side! The dog seemed to know her, or at the very least he wanted to help her. It was weird, He seemed a bit disappointed when she didn't recognize him. Was he her pet before she hit her head or whatever? And if so.... How did she get such an awesome and cool dog?! She smiled as the dog insisted she ride upon him. She was small enough to do so, and the dog seemed to know where he was going way better than she did, riding on his back, exhausted from her long time alone she finally came to that place she had been working towards all that time-Torensten.
As they came into that town the dog of course set right to getting her into the most comfortable spot. He hadn't yet found anyone familiar that he trusted and such simply found the most warm corner he could and used himself to keep Relm warm after her ordeal. As the young girl began to finally doze off after what seemed like forever a simple thing came from her lips.
"Your gonna need a name right....? how about...."
It seemed to roll off the tongue so easily, so naturally, like a reflex. As she finally closed her eyes she could have sworn she saw the dog smile at what she said.
Why? She just said....
"Interceptor"
And from that day forward they were together in this town. It wasn't long before Relm rediscovered her talent art, with some guidance from Interceptor. Rediscovering it was a joy, like finding a part of herself again. Painting felt magical-like an extension of herself, and she used it to support both her and Interceptor. Selling pieces, taking commissions... finishing art pieces she could do it all! She ended up getting a bit of a name for herself if she did say so herself. People had at times tried to offer help but... Interceptor just didn't trust anyone that she could see, Or if he did it certainly wasn't anyone she had met so far. It was sweet of him to be so protective, but it did mean they were on there own, at least for now.
Today though? Unlike that day so fresh in her memory was one of sunshine, bright in the sky and a smile on her face. The girl had a skip in her step as she traveled the market place. It was time to gather groceries with the art money! She knew what she wanted.... had to make sure to get a good amount of meat for interceptor to, it seemed to be his preference!
Yeah.... she might not have remembered anything... but she had a special partner now, a buddy to share this time with.
And who knew, maybe another new friend was just around the corner!

Relm Arrowny
"Say sweetie, would you pose for a portrait?"
I. BASICS
FULL NAME:Relm Arrowny: NICKNAMES:: GENDER::Female AGE::11 ORIENTATION::Hetrosexual GAME OF ORIGIN::Final Fantasy VI ALIGNMENT:: Harmonious (Interceptor is Neutral) EQUIPMENT:: Paint brush and canvas, Magic, one very protective doggo and a Memento Ring. More exact, the matching ring to one her father presumably has. She doesn't know whether it was her mother or father's.
HEIGHT::4'0 HAIR/EYES/SKIN::Blue eyes, Blonde hair, White skin complexion DISTINGUISHING MARKS::
II. PERSONA
Relm on the surface is what you'd expect to see in a normal child, she's hyperactive and full of energy. In her lies a kind of innocence only a child of her age can truly convey. Though she is hyperactive and at times very easy to upset, at the same time she is not dumb by any means. At her core Relm is a very bright girl for her age, both in knowledge of magic and life. This fact is conveyed more than anything through her art. Both using her magic and making normal drawings she shows a practiced expertise it would take most adults years to fully master.. It is also the way the young girl best conveys her emotions. This is show even in her current state of mind in Zephon, as though she has lost her memories her resourcefulness still shines bright, between her and Interceptor who helps to keep her safe. She uses the things she knows how to do, such as her painting to get them both through each day in this new place she has found herself in.
Relm has her own way with words with people, like a wordsmith in training she can use her childish form to convince people to do things her way, though by no means a sure thing it can be quite effective when it comes to people weak to a childs charms-just ask Ultros!
Relm is a kind girl, if hard headed at times. She will follow what she believes is right to a fault, and if it's something she truly believes in or wants to do will even defy those close to in order to do it. As one would expect this has more often than not gotten the young girl in more than one bad situation whether it was because she was disciplined by someone like Strago, or because her actions put her in physical danger. Despite this the young artist tends to have the best intentions in her heart concerning others, and will do her best to help those she cares about. She is a very playful girl and loves playing with animals, especially Interceptor!
Ruff! Interceptor loves her treats, ruff!
She’s also quite impulsive and has a habit of both jumping to conclusions and acting on those conclusions, or else other ideas she might have without putting as deep thought into them as she should, and very much could if she thought to, instead believing to her utmost that ‘this is exactly what we need to do!’
……it’s probably a very good thing Interceptor is around….
Interceptor himself is a strange thing to the people of Zephon. Unlike Relm he retained his memory of their world and, noticing the state Relm was in upon arrival became even more protective of the girl, ensuring he is always by her side in some manner or fashion-some people of the land find it strange that such a fierce looking dog is doing this, others find it adorable, but none of them know the real truth behind it. His previous Master asked him to but he would have regardless. The dog is fiercely loyal to the little girl who treats him so well, often barring people from approaching the artist until he looks them up and down first, or upon Relm vouching for them.
That said he's still such a sweetie (if you ask Relm)
What? What do other people think? What about those bite marks?
Pffft there just jealous!
III. HISTORY
Relm was born the daughter of the train robber Clyde Arrowny, though the man didn't stay in her life for long, leaving her behind-whether to protect her or get rid of her Relm doesn't know to this day, as Strago rarely mentions the man to her, instead taking on the role of parental figure himself. When she was young Relm would cry out, wondering where her father had gone, Strago would have to calm her each night as she remained a tearful mess. But now a days she simply aims to find out what happened to him, who he was... And why he left her. Part of her wants to get him to come back to her, part of her wants to give him a good smack, but all of her wants to know the answer:Why? Though her memories have been swept from her in Zephon she isn’t an idiot, she knows she’s a child, and she knows her magic makes her different from other people:She still wants to know, Who he is, and why he isn’t there. She wants to know why she doesn't have her parents, why she only has herself and Interceptor.
Later on in life visitors came to their home, in search of information on espers and magic. Though Strago himself feigns ignorance Relm inadvertently exposes the secret to Terra and the others gathered in her excitement “Can they use magic to gramps?!”, while also taking an immediate liking to Shadow's dog (and vice versa to the man's confusion) Relm didn’t quite recognize the connection from earlier on in her life due to her age, but Interceptor did. Or maybe he just really liked her treats.
Maybe both…
However later that night Relm is caught in a fire after playing with magical rods at a friend's house. Though Terra, Locke and Strago enter the building to rescue her they are almost overwhelmed by the intense flames before Interceptor, feeling the danger his important person was in came to rescue her (Shadow came to behind him, huh…) The claim was that he just came from for the dog. Hmmm well, at least Interceptor cared, adorable thing! Later on Relm asks to go with the group to help find the Espers, but Strago denies her. She however follows them anyway on her own volition, separate from the group later helping them against Ultros and using the octopus' own skills against him to drive him off, more specifically guilt tripping and gaslighting Ultros into letting her draw his portrait, only for doing so to scare Ultros off upon seeing it.
Though the group is successful in brokering peace between the Empire (or Leo at least) and and the Espers it turns out to be a trap set by Kefka and the Emperor-and it turns out to be a horrible success as the Espers are destroyed for their magicite, and Leo himself is killed in the process. In the aftermath Relm and Strago join the others in an effort to fight back against Kefka.
After Kefka brings about the world's ruin Relm is separated from the others, and tries to carve out her own life in the ruined world by using her art to help others, as well as escape the sadness she felt being separated from everyone-even Strago. However she is brought into a corner when a man named Owzer hires her to remove the demon Chadarnook from one of his prized paintings. She is ultimately unable to defeat the monster on her own before Celes and the reuniting members of their group came to help her. Relm then rejoins the group and helps save Strago from his trance as a member of the cult of Kefka. After words the group return to Thamasa and find Strago's childhood friend and, upon hearing his words finally hunt down and defeat the beast that haunted Strago many years ago.
Eventually the party is able to confront and finally bring down Kefka. However having absorbed the triad Kefka had become the source of magic in the world and with his destruction magic itself began unravling with Kefka's tower itself. As they escape Strago states her intent to finally draw a natural, non magical painting of Strago. A promise shefully intends to keep when they escape. In their new lives Relm has stayed with Strago thus far, using her powers as an artist to try and enrich and make the lives of the people around her as happy as possible.... Along with getting on Strago's nerves most of the time! Shadow’s dog, Interceptor came with her to, though oddly enough Shadow himself was nowhere to be seen. Relm briefly tried to get Interceptor to let her help her find him, he was a friend after all! But the dog was resolute in staying here with her. It was confusing for Relm at first but… well she always enjoyed his company anyway, he was lovely pet and friend!
Though... Even as the world was given a second chance and peace was returned Relm couldn't help but feel her own story wss unfinished. Her parents went away along time ago, Strago only ever telling her the fate of her mom but refusing to speak of her dad. This led to a heated argument between the two, Relm both angry and hurt Strago refused to tell her what she needed to know. It ends in her going off with a huff, declaring she would find the man herself, alone if she had to!
Well... And then everything went topsy turvy and.... Well now she was lost. Interceptor followed Relm in her raging huff and well… something happened with the world, something Interceptor saw, but Relm didn’t remember. That something brought them to wholly unfamiliar world in Zephon. Interceptor found his new master in Relm had lost her memory of everything, of him, there friends, there world… all of it. It saddened the dog of course, but… more than that he knew Relm would need him more than anything in that state, until she recovered her memories-if she did at all, it didn't matter:He would remain at her side at protect her. Relm for her part of course became attached to Interceptor once more, even without her memories she recognized the wonderful partner he was! Together they were intent on carving their life where they had found themselves. Relm retained her talents, both in magic and art, while Interceptor resolved to keep her safe, yes in this new world of Zephon, in the port city of Torensten the pair had begun to make their new life!
