This is the beast...
He smirked just slightly as he saw her eyebrow raise up. He could imagine what her thoughts could be, or at least their subjects. If not his wounds, then his scars. He was more than aware of the amount and although he was used to them she may have not. Or perhaps she was simply pondering whether or not she truly should help him.
They told each other their names and he did not miss the sudden twitch in her eye. Did she realize who he was in that instant? Perhaps she was not well informed on the recent events, but heard the name before? Not that he was particularly fond of it. But if she did, she did not let the information stop her.
"Interesting, you say?" He asked weakly. He might as well show some interest in her, until he was out of danger. "For what reason?" He was still feeling weak, but his voice was already somehow more steady and a little louder than before. He then looked at the blue liquid in her hands and let out a chuckle at her question. He could not help it. "Not my first, not my last." he said afterwards, looking straight into her eyes. "Surely not worse than cauterizing the wound myself with fire." then he looked at the potion again. "And better than being bedridden for days."
His voice was still pretty low in volume, but at least he did not need to stop and breathe in between one word and the other anymore and could complete a sentence without pause. "I am willing."

His smile was genuine - as genuine as when he had fought with the Warrior of Light in their most memorable battle. As he threw himself at his opponent, he chose to ignore his words completely. He did not know what a dominant was, he assumed it was a way in which his people called enshrouded reapers and let the information slide. The dragoon jumped away and soon threw at him another set of light orbs that Zenos deflected by erecting his magical barrier once again. He chuckled to himself, unable to control his own emotions. It was so rare for him to feel something, the sensation was still unfamiliar to him, although not entirely by then.
He grinned wide, looking at the dragoon on top of the trees, and started to gather aether in his scythe to use the Unyielding Blade Technique once again, but then he stopped as he noticed a shift in the man's presence. Soon enough, he followed him with his gaze as the dragoon fell down onto the ground, one broken twig after the other. As the knight sloppily landed, ending up on his knees, Zenos let his aether dissipate. He approached slowly, studying the man's condition. Could he still fight? Could he still make his heart quiver?
He could not, that much was clear.
Zenos walked closer until he was one step away from him. He stared at him for a long moment, evaluating his options, then released the Avatar and hung the scythe onto his back, reverting to his original appearance. "You have done enough, my friend." he stated "This will end here - for today, at least." He crouched in front of the dragoon, then swiftly loaded him onto his shoulder. Should his own clothes be soaked with blood, he would not care. It would not be the first or last time. If the man dropped his weapon, he would take it and bring it with him.
After ensuring that the man would not fall, the Garlean started walking back to the city. He remembered the way back to where he had meet the dragoon, so he brought him in the same place without a second thought. People would see him carrying a wounded man on his shoulders like a sack of popotoes - that would also not be the first or last time, probably.
Once in front of the place, someone rushed outside, but he moved the woman to the side and entered the building. He ignored everything and everyone, and half-threw the soldier onto the first bed he found. He stopped for a moment, staring at him. He did not even know why he brought him back, this behavior was unlike him. It was also true, though, that Zenos wanted the man to survive. He wanted a rematch on another occasion, and could only have it if he survived.
"Farewell, my friend, and thank you. I shall come find you again." He said, still looking at him. "Next time... I shall look forward to it." Then he walked out the door without as much as a glance to anyone else.
"This is the beast I've longed to face."
Someone will not be amused. Namely Yuna and Monori.

Zenos looked at the woman as she said something about him teleporting. He had a resource, why not use it? But it was true that garleans, especially pure-blooded garleans such as him, were not supposed to be able to use even the simplest form of magic. Yet he had never been normal to begin with. The woman was about to spout some more nonsense, and Zenos chose to shut her up with his next attack.
He could see it in her eyes. Fear. Simple yet powerful, perhaps a good reason for her to give him something more? But no, for a moment she was so utterly shocked that her grip on the spear loosened. She would have to go a long way -a very long way- before she could truly fight him. And that became even clearer when the latest of his blows sent her backwards onto a wall.
He stared at the woman for a long, long moment after she hit it. He had seen something in her eyes, something special. Was she also one of Hydaelyn's chosen? But he thought She had disappeared. Could the blessing hold on? It would not surprise him, considering Her power. "You have potential." He said, looking at her from head to toe and then back to her eyes. "You should not waste it on being murdered by someone like me." He continued, closing his eyes for a moment. He sighed. She had potential. She could grow. She would live.
"Leave. Take your time and return, stronger, when you stand a better chance to overpower me - be it through magical mastery or physical prowess, this matters not. If you aspire to properly engage in combat with me, you must possess power that matches my own." He looked straight into her eyes, his gaze as cold as the winters of Garlemald. "You do have the right hunger.. but at this moment, you are unquestionably lacking power. Leave with your life, or attack me again, and die." he stated, then he turned around and started walking away without waiting for an answer.

About Zenos
He's an absolute madman with a huge problem with boredom. He loves to fight and feels alive only when doing so. He's selfish, insensitive and pretty arrogant - and on top of that, to him live has close to no value, both because he was raised as the heir to the Garlean Empire, and because he only values good fighters. He doesn't like meaningless massacres, though, as he enjoys the hunt and the fight, but only when the prey is worthy.
Plot ideas
★ The Hunt ★ Are you a good fighter? Then you'll end up in this eventually. He does not care in the slightest whether you're good or evil, old or young, or whatever else, he only cares if you are strong enough to be good sport... which means if you have the potential but are not quite what he wants yet, he will let you be and come back in the future like a flippin' stalker.
★ Mercenary ★ As he does whatever happens to pique his interest in the moment, he might just want to look for something to fight in the meantime - especially if he is getting paid. He could guard something, or simply kidnap or kill whomever as long as he is well paid, as he kinda needs the money to roam around, eat, sleep, and so on.
★ Father ★ He deeply, completely despises his father. The man has dared stand on his path and attempt to kill his prey before, and he has been slain for it. He most definitely would slay him again. Not to mention Zenos has more than a few grudges against him.
Relationships
★ Fandaniel: The Ascian and clown and madman that "served" him for a while when he had taken the throne in Garlemald. He can't stand him, and thanks to him Zenos now hates jesters, clowns, and anything similarly looking or acting.
★ Varis Galvus: His father. They have seldom seen each other, and Zenos despises him for many reasons, from being an absent and abusive father to trying to kill his prey.
★ Alexander Sorel: His first friend, and his enemy. Zenos wants to find him, to spend some time with him. He hopes that his friend is still alive.
★ Thisei Virleth: the person who saved his life. He's not too sure he's happy about it.
★ Dion Lesage: The best fight he's had ever since arriving in Provo. He is now his friend. But probably doesn't want to.
★ Renitra Starspear: She wants to kill him. He doesn't understand half of what she says when she accuses him, but he doesn't care.
★ Solus Galvus aka Emet-Selch: Technically the grandfather of his father, they haven't really interacted much.

The woman's words did not bother Zenos in the slightest, although he did feel the need to reply to one thing. "I have never laid eyes on you before." he said - although he was not quite sure whether he did not remember because he truly had never seen her before or because she was entirely inconsequential to him. He was known to forget names and faces he did not need to remember.
He stared as she called upon her cards. He had always been intrigued by ishgardian magic, and he did study what he could about astrologians. They drew power by their skills in divination. Yet, this one was also a dragoon. Perfectly fitting, he thought, as both had their connection with the skies, one through the air and one through the stars. As he witnessed the woman imbue the power of her card into her weapon, he smirked. She truly was no warrior of light. As far as he remembered, which truly was not much to be fair, his friend was nothing like her, both in character and abilities.
"Boring, boring, boring." he muttered, as he erected his barrier once again. Then, as she started her descent, he simply teleported a few yalms away, in order not to be hit. Perhaps, she would take a moment too much to recover from her landing? Not that he cared much. He rotated the scythe above his head, infusing it with aether, and slashed a few times towards the Hyur using the unyielding blade technique: a sliver of dark-infused aether, projecting the scythe's path, darted in her direction. He did not truly care whether or not others would be involved - he had never truly cared about civilians, or buildings even. And he did not care whether she did care or not.

Light?
In the fraction of a second, after the blow the Garlean had landed, everything had changed. While a moment before he was unsure whether or not to make a better use of his avatar, as soon as his opponent raised his hand he felt something stirring. He stepped backwards, and widened his eyes when he witnessed the rays of light that came flying after him. He had to go all out if he did not want to risk his life, this time. So he erected a magical barrier in the attempt to get rid of the rays. What he did not expect was the second attack, a beam of light that crashed onto his barrier and quickly cracked it.
Once again pleasantly surprised, Zenos called upon the power of his voidsent as soon as the barrier started to crack. It broke only one bat of an eye after he had merged with the creature - and that probably was the one and only reason why he did not collapse right after receiving the blow. Instead, he was thrown away by both the shattered barrier and the bright flare, landing on his back quite a few yalms from where he standed before.
He laid still for a moment, his mind slowly taking in what had just happened. His appearance had changed as the soul of his avatar was now merged with his own. His eyes turned red, with a black sclera, his golden locks intertwined with something more similar to black and red tentacles the further from the scalp they went, one of his arms had become red as his fingers and nails turned into claws.
He took a deep breath, not caring in the slightest about the pain spreading all around his body. Then he stood. He smiled. He positioned himself once again. "Come hither, my friend. Our clash shall tear down the Heavens." he said. Then he rotated the scythe above his head and threw himself at the opponent once again.

He could not help it, his soul had started to resonate. His entire being had been lit up like unbridled flames by that single blow. Little did the soldier know that any further attacks would only fuel the fire within him. As he saw the dragoon leap once again, Zenos grinned wide. "Yes. YES! Give me your all!" He shouted, staring at him as he bolted downwards. He waited until the last possible moment before he finally dodged the blow with a quick hop to the side - but not entirely. He waited for one moment too long and groaned just slightly as he felt the tip of the spear cut through his skin.
It was not a grave wound, but surely enough to make the Garlean chuckle darkly. He swiftly rotated the scythe above his head and then attacked with a series of quick blows: some of them had no magical projection as he simply sliced in the dragoon's direction, while others were infused with aether and sent forward slivers of dark-infused energy. He was having fun. Finally.
He could feel it, the soldier had changed something in his attitude once again. Perhaps he would finally stop holding back. At long last. And so did Zenos not allow him to rest. After the first few blows, he leaped forward and sliced down towards the ground. Normally, he would have aimed at the man's head or chest, but he had promised not to take his life -and had he gone against his own word, he would have had to be bored to death again, wouldn't he?- so he simply aimed to the side, in order to only carve his path down the soldier's arm.
He wanted to enshroud, but he was not sure the man could handle it. He was a very good fighter, on that Zenos had been right from the start, but without any magic it would have been too easy to overwhelm him. So, to keep himself in check, he eventually stopped attacking and stood still, waiting. He had to be careful not to be too carried away, or the man would interrupt their encounter, without a doubt.

He stared in confusion as she mentioned what he supposed were his far eastern blades. He hadn't used a katana since... well, a very long time. And he did not have one at the moment, as his entire collection of weapons had been lost together with Garlemald when he first awakened in these foreign lands. Then he raised an eyebrow when she called him "Zenos yae Galvus". Yes, she was from Hydaelyn, then... but he had no idea what she was talking about. He had never seen her before, and even had he done so, he would have remembered her if she did not bore him.
He did remember ordering someone to experiment on a lalafellin female to develop an artificial echo, that he did. What was her name? Cry? Kyle? Something along those lines. But he did not remember any of the rest - or better, he remembered witnessing those wars, but not her presence in them. But then, after the woman was done rambling, something caught his attention. Warrior of light. She was supposed to be a warrior of light? The Warrior of Light? "Is this why you fight?" he asked, emotionless, as he erected a magical barrier to protect himself from her spells - just like the one he had used in Ala Mhigo, since she had named it.
"I am no prince, not anymore. And you are no Warrior of Light." he stated, then he deflected the woman's weapon with his own, and attempted to kick her away by aiming at her side. "But if you wish to take my life, feel free to try. I will not take yours, should you provide me with good enough sport." That said, he slashed at the woman again, whether she had been thrown away by his kick or not, but this time with the unyielding blade technique, channelling his aether into the scythe and projecting the slash into the air and in her direction.

He was strolling aimlessly among the streets of Provo. He was looking for someone to fight, but he still could not find any sort of entertainment. Thus did he take refuge in his own mind, where, at least, he would not be bored to his death. And it was while he was lost in thought that something stirred outside, somewhere close to him, and he was quickly brought back to the present by his instinct. That same instinct that perceived an attack and made him move out of the halberd's way without even seeing it. A surprise attack from a dragoon knight? Was this the new technique the people were willing to use to attempt to murder him? Cowards.
Still.
Was his name so well-known that anyone would know it? Had he told it someone he could not remember? It was possible. But then, why would this savage speak as she had? He had not murdered aimlessly ever since he had come to the city. Why the hatred? Although he was well aware that he was a ruthless beast, or a monster as she had said. Was she from Hydaelyn? He did not know, and to be completely honest wth himself, he also did not care. So he looked into the Hyur's eyes without the shadow of an expression, simply staring as if looking at whatever else. "You wish to fight me." he stated, detatching the scythe from his back. "Very well."
He was not known for caring about his surroundings, nor about the passersby. Anyone who would offer a fight would at least be tested. But would this woman be good sport? Would she entertain him or bore him, he wondered? "If it is a fight you want, you shall have it." he stated, then he swung his blade towards the dragoon a couple of times, without even relying on the unyielding blade technique. He would test her first, then take the bar higher and higher should she meet his expectations.
