II. PERSONA
Nerissa is always known as the kind, intelligent, patient, and hardworking girl of her family. Since she was little, she gave it her all in everything she did, whether it was to learn how to wield a sword in combat, write letters for Cid's faction or read ancient books during her free time. She did it all without ever complaining to her superiors or teachers.
Because she grew up in a world immersed in war, Nerissa was trained the hard way so that she would be able to survive on her own if ever no one was there to protect her. With Edwyn, she learned how to be brave in face of danger; with Goldie, how to be generous with bearers and nonbearers alike; with Cid, how to raise a sword against injustice and corruption; with Joshua, how to be honest with those close to you, even if it's hard at times; and with Ammon, how to be empathic towards other people's struggles. Thanks to their guidance, she has become a better version of herself, one that her parents would be very proud of if they were still alive in this world.
Like any other person, Nerissa has certain weaknesses that are quite bad. For example, she often hides how sick, hurt, or wounded she is from everyone since she does not wish to worry them about her health and the state she is in. Also, due to her natural beauty, she is sometimes called out by men of various ages who wish to have a drink with her at the nearest tavern or simply have a little fun with the young woman in their own ways~ (if you know, you know). Whenever that happens, Nerissa politely declines their "invitation" with a smile on her face and immediately walks away from them, not wanting to commit a murder today in case it would affect the Dragonblades' reputation later on.
Other stuff to know about the Muireach girl is that she once had a crush on Lord Joshua Rosfield when she was a kid, which quickly faded away to their difference in status and his sudden death at Pheonix Gate (Of course, he survived, but it's been twenty years so of course she would no longer have feelings for him) x). Additionally, she used to have a fear of thunderstorms, but has come to control most of the fear over time.

III. BACKGROUND
She is a member of the Dragonblades and is part of the Ruins Research Unit. Her job mainly includes visiting ruins, taking out monsters and/or preventing their reappearances, researching artefacts, and rescuing people, whether they are still alive or dead.
Her fighting style is quite unique in the sense that her attacks are sharp and deadly, giving the chills to whoever crosses swords with her on the battlefield. Not only that, but her movements are always fluid and graceful, which provides the illusion that she is dancing with her swords while fighting her enemy.

IV. HISTORY
Trigger warning: Attempted murder
Nerissa always felt different from the rest of her family.
Born in a remote village in the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, Nerissa, then called Kaira, was abandoned by her biological parents at only four days old due to being the result of an affair between a rich noblewoman and her waloedian commoner knight. Because they were scared of being discovered for their secret liaison by their respective spouses, the two lovers took the decision of abandoning Kaira at the mouth of a river, leaving her in a basket that would float on the water and eventually sank into it, which would kill the child in the process. Luckily for her, the nameless gods took mercy on her, and her woven creel survived the long trip to the other end of the river. The young child was ultimately found in late afternoon by a woman and her son who were only passing by when they heard the cries of a hungry newborn baby from the stream. It didn't take long for Kaira to be taken out of the basket and be brought home to her new family, thanks to an unexpected change in fate.
Growing up in the Muireach family, the young orphan was greatly doted on, especially by her brother, Edwyn, who had taken on the mission of protecting his little sister till the end of time. Both Harold and Anne found it quite funny to see their two young children getting along so well together, but nonetheless, they were happy about this outcome. Thanks to that, they could always go to work without worrying about their youngest, Nerissa, knowing Edwyn was there to babysit her at any time. Of course, when the little girl started walking, she would often escape her brother's surveillance to go surprise her parents at the Rosfield castle. Both of them were long time servants of this noble family, Harold's parents and grandparents having also served the current archduke and his predecessor years before the couple even met. As such, everyone in Nerissa's family were expected to pledge their loyalty to the Rosfield family, as long as the archduke remained faithful to the people.
When she turned seven, the youngest Muireach kid pledged her loyalty to Archduke Elwin Rosfield and his sons, and soon started working as a servant in the castle, mostly cleaning the windows and dusting off books in the library since she was still too young to do harder jobs like the adults. Her job didn't feel like a chore to her and Nerissa enjoyed every tiny bits of it until tragedy struck their kingdom soon after the Pheonix's departure.
The year was 860 when the Iron Kingdom decided to raid their territory, knowing full well that the Archduke's troops had been defeated and that there would be no one to save them during this surprise attack. Their lands were put on fire, women were captured to become slaves, and most bearers were killed for the sin of practicing magic, which was strongly against the Ironbloods's values and beliefs. As their city was put down to the ground, Harold and Anne ordered their children to leave immediately the castle while they stayed behind to help other servants escape the area from the ruthless soldiers. Nerissa didn't want to leave them behind, but she had no other choice than to obey them if she wanted her brother to survive this horrific night. Her father was pleased with her decision and he, in exchange of her compliance, gave Edwyn a package that his daughter could unwrap once they were far away from this place. With one last goodbye, the two Muireach siblings left the castle and ran straight towards the forest where they would take cover until the raid ended.
They walked, and walked deeper into the forest, taking a few of short breaks during their escape, unsure of what would happen to them now that their parents were no longer here by their side. To cheer them up, Edwyn would say that they'd be able to return to their house once sunrise came, but it never happened. A day soon became a week, a week soon became a month, and a month soon became a year, leading the children to loose hope over the fact that they'd never be able to come back to the place they once called "home."
In 866, while wandering in an unknown marketplace, Nerissa and Edwyn were approched by a middle-aged man who claimed to be an old friend of their mother. His name was Goldie and, having recently known about their parents' death, offered them a place to stay in exchange of working for him for a little while. At first, his deal seemed like a trap to them, but they ended up accepting it for the sake of their own survival. Little did they know that Goldie was, in fact, a member of Cid's faction.
Since the day he took them in, both children have been living at the hideout and helping out a few their members whenever it was possible. Because Neri was still young, she was not allowed to go on missions unlike her older brother, and she instead continued her sword training with people of experience and learned how to write and read with the help of Goldie. At the age of 18, she started taking on missions for Cid's cause, often accompanying their people across the kingdom to help save Bearers and their families from persecution. For the first time in months, Nerissa found a new meaning in life, one that would allow her to heal past wounds of her childhood years. Even after losing her brother four years later during a suicidal mission, she never lost hope and kept on going for the sake of a better future for all.
A year later, she was reunited with Lord Clive and Lady Jill whom Cid had brought to the hideaway to help them recuperate before their next big quest. The young Muireach woman tagged along to help them on their journey, even though Goldie was strongly against it at the beginning.
Together, they traveled around Valisthea, searching for an answer as to why the world had gone mad in those last twenty years. Their travels were not without risks, many of their comrades having lost their lives in battle (including good ol' Goldie) while trying to put an end to Ultima's evil plans. Nerissa firmly believed that, this time, they would win this war without any more casualties, but luck was never on their side, and Fate had other plans for these heroic Dominants.
Upon learning of her comrades' deaths (Clive, Joshua, and Dion) at Ultima's lair through Gav, the warrior felt heartbroken and immediately left the hideout, wishing to be left alone for some time while she coped with these tragic news on her own. She went to a hidden lake near their hideout, a place only she and a few others knew of, partly because it was quite a long walk to go there from their main headquarters. Soon after she arrived, Nerissa fell on her knees and cried in agony, having no shame of letting go her emotions out when no one was there to look at her disheveled state.
Suddenly, a strange feeling overcame her and, next thing she knew, she awakened into the eikon of water, Leviathan. She couldn't believe her eyes, nor entirely grasp what was happening to her. When transforming back into her usual state, Nerissa couldn't think straight anymore and asked herself what she should do now that she was aware of being a Dominant. She ought to tell someone about this new discovery, but she never got the chance as she was teleported to a new mysterious world called Zephon.
"Author?"
"Yes, Nerissa?"
"Could you skip the embarrassing part about how I landed in this world and just go straight to the point to what I've been doing for the last month?"
"But-! It's the funny part~"
"They'll just have to find out in roleplay."
"...Fine. You win. Just let me grab my pen and- Huh? Where's my pencil? I thought I'd left it here on the table. Waaaaaait, where's Ammon? Ammon? Aaaaaammmmmoooooon! Come back here! I need my pen to continue writing Neri's story!"
It's been about a month since Nerissa arrived in Zephon and joined the Dragonblades. She has been a great asset to their group, always researching about ruins and tracking down monsters that cause a real threat to certain villages. The only problem she has encountered so far since living in this world was that of memory loss. Ever since her little escapade at the hidden lake near Cid's hideout, the young woman has no remembrance of ever awakening her magic powers and being the host of Leviathan. Instead, she has been plagued with nightmares consisting of past memories of her life and a sea-like creature named Levia. Often times, her nightmares would be accompanied by various symptoms that included ears ringing, chest discomfort, coughing, and difficulty breathing, as if she were drowning in a pool of water. She tried keeping it under wraps so as to not worry the others about her state, but it might not be easy since her condition has continued to worsen over time.

“I’ll always be there for you, Neri… Always.”
Lies.
It was, and has always been, a lie... Father...
Deep within within Nerissa's heart, she knew that those words her father spoke on the day he died were untrue. He said he would always be there for them, for her and Edwyn, that he would be fine no matter what happened during this war... And yet, here she was, standing in front of that blue crystal lake, shedding tears of an unknown kind as she tried remembering the faces of her dear parents whom were now lost in the flows of her old memories that she once called the present.
Following Goldie's unexpected news about Harold and Anne's passing, the little girl had not wanted to mourn their deaths with the rest of her "new" family, instead choosing the option of escaping Cid's hideout at night in search of a place where she could cry in unbothered peace without people's eyes on her. If there was one thing she hated more than someone watching her cry, it was someone feeling pity for her. Do that and you're sure to never see her again near you, unless she forgives you for it which rarely happened considering she never lost someone to death in this life until now...
As she watched the faint reflection of the moon across the water, a sudden thought came to her mind, and she wondered why she had never said anything bad about her mother. She did say her father was a liar, but what about her? What about the woman who raised her and took care of her like she was her real daughter? What about that person who would stay awake late a night to comfort Nerissa whenever thunder was striking outside of their house? The only problem she could find in Anne was that she was too kind at heart. She took care of the people around her, made sure they were doing alright and had enough food to pass the upcoming winter. She was all-smiley whenever someone said hi to her or complimented her for the good work she had done at Rosalith castle. Anne Muireach was too good for this world, including herself.
"Father... Mother... Why did you have to lie to us? About the world being a cruel place. If I had known sooner, I would have done anything to protect you from those Ironbloods soldiers. Even if it would have cost my life, I would've done it! It should've been me who had died on that day! Not you guys, nor anyone else, but me and me alone! It... It should've been me..."
