[attr="class","ayab-text"] A surprised gasp escaped her as she heard her name being called out as she turned around. The same, familiar baritone of a good friend and the one she had been hoping to cross paths with! Aerith felt her lips curl into a bright smile as she beheld Vincent for the first time in what seemed like forever. Gone were the heavy, crimson robes in light of something more flattering and stylish. His hair seemed to be the same, familiar mess that she had always wished to braid back for him. Her fingers even twitched as that familiar urge hit her without preamble! Bright, excited laughter filled the air as she spun on her heel fully to greet him. [break][break]
"Vincent! I'm so glad I found you!" Without hesitation, Aerith threw her arms around the taller man's midsection and hugged him tightly. He was just so much taller than her that she could not quite reach his shoulders so easily! Find another one of her friends filled her with a familiar warmth as she took a few moments to just hug him. It allowed her to realize that it was not a happy dream and truly real to her senses. After a few moments, she did pull away to glance up at him with a familiar smile. "Don't tell me it's like seeing a ghost! I asked Cloud the same thing when I met him."[break][break]
Oh, she truly hoped this would be good news for Vincent to hear as well! But her smile turned a little more somber as she realized Vincent must have believed her to be dead as well. The inflection in his voice told her as much. "I'm fine, really. What happened to me, well, it never happened in my memories. I think I was pulled here...before all of that took place." That was the best way she could explain it to him. Aerith allowed her smile to grow lighter as she waved her hand over his new appearance with excitement and happiness. "This world seems to suit you. You look so much more at peace here. I'm glad for you!"

[attr="class","ayab-text"] A colored card to seek out her date and a card filled with festival credits! Aerith is visibly excited as she takes in all of the various attractions to see. It was so much more exciting than Wall Market! It was almost like the Gold Saucer! This was the first time she had been on a date in quite awhile! Of course, she had offered Cloud a date with her but she knew she had practically dragged him with her. Hopefully this time would be less forced and more fun! Not that she hadn't had fun with Cloud! The memory of it was kept close to her heart but for once there were less pressing matters to darken it. [break][break]
The young woman had dressed herself a little too much for it, but she could not help herself! The red dress had been so over-the-top and pretty that it reminded her of the dress she had worn for her audition with Don Corneo. A form-fitting and extravagant thing that only matched what she had done with her hair. For once, she had allowed herself to wear it mostly loose with a red ribbon replacing her pink one to hold it up. Her White Materia was still tucked safely beneath even as the rest of her hair was curled and threaded with ribbons and flowers. Beneath the bright lights and the sound of laughter and joy, Aerith felt like she was almost back home in Midgar. The Slums were by no means this fancy, but there had been such life and joy either way. [break][break]
Her green eyes were alight with fascination as she tried to take in every single thing she could. Would her date like the dress she chose? Would it be fun? Would they mind if she dragged them off wherever she liked? Aerith could not help but giggle just a little giddily at the thought. Perhaps even a romantic dinner later on~? Of course, she did not see this as going further than just one fun night, but she was quite open to seeing where this event would lead her. For now, Aerith stayed where she was so her date would be able to find her with the matching card she had received.

[attr="class","ayab-text"] Her situation in life had become rather interesting. Aerith had learned that Sephiroth was also in this world, which had her questioning many things. What should she do about this revelation? In all honesty, she preferred to stay out of Sephiroth's way unless she did cross paths with him. Then she could determine how much of a threat he was for herself. The young woman had a hunch that not everything was as it seemed and that the Sephiroth brought to this world was not the one she had known. No, she felt a strong urge within her that this was the Sephiroth that Zack had told her about. The hero, the legend, and the first of the First Class SOLDIERs. Of course, she was not going to view him with rose tinted glasses, but she still wished to learn of this situation for herself. [break][break]
But that was not why she had ventured back to Torensten, though. No, she had heard rumors about a man with dark hair and vivid red eyes. Someone she knew from the description alone and that she was keen on finding if she was able to! Aerith had already reunited with Tifa and Cloud, so she was quite excited about the idea of crossing paths with Vincent once more. This city was not unfamiliar to her at least! Her previous venture here with meeting Seymour would come in handy after all! Not to mention she was quite easily spotted in her usual ensemble of pink! Where would be the most likely place to find Vincent? [break][break]
Somewhere that sold ammunition! Well, the most likely place would be an inn that he could rest in. But, well, she was a little curious to see this city's black market. Was it like Wall Market? If it was, then she was positive it was nothing she could not handle! Of course, she told herself that until she lost herself within the crowd of people. And then she had a salesman shoving some sort of weapon towards her to buy. "No, I'm fine! Really! I can take care of myself just fine! I doubt I'd be able to use a gun the right way, anyway," she declined with a laugh. Deftly, the young woman smiled and quickly disengaged from the seedy salesman. Now, what should she do first? [break][break]
[attr="class","ayab-text"] Aerith realized something was wrong the moment she had laughed. It reminded her of the episodes Cloud would have when reminded of something that did not fall in line with his memories. Her laughter had not been out of malice but out of a surprised humor at his statement. Before she could think of her actions, she had reached out to grasp his hand as she had once done for Cloud. Her lightened expression had disappeared in favor of a concerned one as she stood from her seat to keep the man from leaving. His hand felt so cold and clammy within her own as she soon used her other hands to grasp his as well. Holding it within her own, she did her best to return warmth to the chilled appendages. No, she really had not meant to evoke unpleasant memories for him with her thoughtless action.[break][break]
"You're not going anywhere, Alex. Sit back down and finish the rest of your drink first," she stated firmly. Her green eyes were determined as she stared up at him with sheer concern. His movements and actions were almost instinctual in a sense to protect himself from whatever memories had been brought back. "Get it together now and just breathe." Aerith guided Alexander back to sit down just to keep him from leaving the cafe without first grounding himself. If nothing else, then she would be damned if she let him leave in this state. Not when she had triggered it without meaning to do so.[break][break]
"I'm sorry for laughing. I wasn't trying to make light of what happened to you," she explained softly. Slowly, she let his hands slip from her own when it felt warm again. Sitting back down in her own seat, she pushed her second mug of hot chocolate before him. "Drink the second one, too. It'll warm you up and make you feel better." Aerith stared at him stubbornly to make sure he would not leave her presence until she was sure he was well enough to do so.
[attr="class","ayab-text"] The soft muttering of gratitude tugged on her heartstring a little. Aerith wondered when the last time he had been shown some actual kindness had been. Being in this world must be difficult for him if almost no one remembered who he was. Okay, perhaps he was earning a little more respect from her now! He was still an insufferable butt, though! "Just a little. You seem to mean well, but there are some things I don't like sharing so easily." Secrets to keep and all of them were wrapped within her hair ribbon. Aerith smiled to herself in amusement before she found herself quirking her brow. Dropping a moon on his world? Before she could help herself, she found herself laughing at the sheer absurdity of it. [break][break]
"Sorry, I believe you! Just..a moon? I guess summoning a meteor was a little too much for them." Shaking her head, she took another sip of her drink. No doubt Alexander had many stories he could share with her over time. She had a feeling this would not be the last time she met him or that he would seek her out. "Warriors of Light? I don't think I've ever heard that title before. We must not have those on my world." The title was so grandiose! Was it given to just anyone? Or only persons of importance and strength? Did that make her little band of friends Warriors of Light on their world? Who knew? Aerith bit back another snort when he mentioned the moon had still fallen anyway. It would have been insensitive of her to do so. It had clearly been a tragic event for him. [break][break]
"I know. The first thing I felt when I woke up was the absence of the lifestream. Everything here feels so fragile and that it might fall apart at the slightest push. I don't know how this world can exist without one. What happens to the souls of those that die? Where do they go? Or are all the people here from other worlds? It's hard to fathom." Aerith idly traced the outline of her mug with her index finger as her expression became pensive. "Anyway, I don't think Sephiroth will be able to summon Meteor. I don't know if that's even his same plan now. I just want you to know that he's someone dangerous and very capable. Please, don't underestimate him and think it's a fight easily won. From what I was told, it took all of my friends to beat him."
[attr="class","ayab-text"] Aerith tilted her head to the side as his rather discomfitted expression. Was there a story somewhere about this? All she could guess was that he had gotten food poisoning at some point and disliked ordering food. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she pushed her half finished mug in front of him. "Go on, take the rest of it. Promise I'm not sick or anything!" she replied with a slight grin. With that done, she stood from her seat to go to the counter and order herself another one before sitting back down. The poor guy could use some kindness after everything he seemed to have gone through lately. His shop had been destroyed, he had been chased by guards, and now he seemed deadset on pursuing Sephiroth. She wished him all the luck in the world on the last one. [break][break]
Was it a personal issue? A half-smile curled on her lips as she shrugged her shoulders briefly. "This is only my second time meeting you. I'm not about to share my entire life story with you juuuust yet." There had been secrets she had kept even from Cloud and the others in the beginning, because she had no wish to reveal just exactly what she was. Of course, it hadn't really mattered after she had given herself over to Shinra in exchange for Marlene's safe passage to her mother's house. A pang of homesickness hit her as she wondered how the two of them were doing. Hopefully someday she would be able to return home or just know that the both of them were alright. [break][break]
Eventually, her new order came in and she sipped at the hot drink with a contented sigh. Aerith set the mug down as she thought over his question. It was a fair one to ask. How did one go about destroying the world? "In my world, there are two materia that can call down the ultimate magic. The one Sephiroth used was the Black Materia to summon Meteor. He managed to do so and if left unchecked, well, the world is left nearly destroyed. When a wound of that size is present on the planet, then the lifestream rushes up to try and heal the wound. I believe he planned to harness the lifestream to gain power. As for the materia, I don't know if he has it, but it should be useless here." Well, Aerith sincerely hoped it was useless here. [break][break]
Idly, she couldn't help but finger her hair ribbon. Well, if he could, then she should be able to summon Holy. All of this was just hypothetical, though.
[attr="class","ayab-text"] Aerith merely sent the man a very dubious expression at that claim. No, she really did not think him to be charming if his first response is to insult those he meets. Another urge to sigh hit her but she quickly bit it back. Perhaps when he got the answers he wanted, then he would be on his merry way. She did wonder why he hadn't ordered a drink for himself since he did look like a drowned rat as well. Should she offer? He had lost his shop, so she didn't think he had much gil on him. "Did you want me to order a drink for you? You look, well, like you could use something warm," she offered. [break][break]
"I suppose so. I wasn't there, so I don't know. It may not have been him, but I don't know anyone else by that description. I just don't like judging until I know the whole story if I can help it." The Sephiroth she had heard about on the news had been a hero to so many, but he had also been a SOLDIER. A First Class one. A person didn't become First Class by worrying about casualties all that much. Well, aside from Zack, anyway. Aerith had only met one in person and Zack had been one of a kind. She doubted anyone was as friendly and concerned about his friends as he had been. Loyal to a fault. A fond smile curled on her lips as she thought of him, but now was not really the time for those memories. "But maybe I'm just trying to be too kind when I shouldn't be." [break][break]
His world had materia as well? Was it formed from the lifestream of his world? Crystalized mako that held part of the wisdom of the lifestream within it. Pieces of the Planet that held so much potential within. Her eyes did shine with empathy as the clear dismay from Alexander over having only one person remember him. Zephon was such a cruel place in a way. Memories were such fragile and precious things. It could be cherished for all of time and lost within an instant. "Yeah, they do. They're the best friends anyone could ask for. They helped me so much when they didn't need to and I'll forever be grateful to them for it. I'd do anything to help them." Her lips curled into a bright smile as she thought of Cloud and Tifa. [break][break]
"That's...a really, really long story. And it's complicated," she answered with a soft sigh. Did she even have the time to get into that? Not to mention a lot of it was personal to her and this was only her second time meeting Alexander. "Let's just say he was trying to destroy the world and my friends and I were able to stop him."
[attr="class","ayab-text"] And there went most of her urge to help him with that particular insult. A mild huff of annoyance escaped her as she took a sip of her hot chocolate to bite back the petulant urge to dump her drink over his head. That would just be a waste of a good drink and her gil! "You really know how to charm a girl, don't you?" she asked as she set her mug down. There was always the choice of simply walking away and allowing him to figure out how much of a risk pursuing Sephiroth was. Then again, if he somehow got himself killed then she would feel quite badly about it. Alexander was rather prickly. He reminded her of Cid in that regard--if only a little. [break][break]
"That is...certainly possible. But it depends on a few factors. The Sephiroth I knew more about during my journey had something quite terrible happen to him. As a result, he went from a hero to someone quite capable of killing innocent people." Her expression had become serious and pensive as she allowed herself to drop her more lighthearted tendencies. This was not a topic she felt the urge to make light of and she wished to press upon Alexander that the swordsman was not a man to be pursued with ease. At least, if something bad did happen to the blonde, then she had a clear conscience.[break][break]
"This world seems to pluck people out of different times. The friends I found here experienced different things than I did. So, it's very possible that the Sephiroth I knew is the man he was before he went insane. I can't be sure unless I cross paths with him myself someday," she mused with a furrowed brow. "Like I said before, don't underestimate him! He's a master swordsman and really adept at using the materia of my world. Ah, what you would call magic? The people of my world can't cast magic on their own. They need to use materia to do so." Holding up her wrist, an ornate bangle rested delicately along her wrist holding several, small orbs that shone almost like jewels.[break][break]
Aerith knew she was the only one capable in her world of casting magic without materia. Or, well, she knew she could, but it was just easier to use the materia she had acquired over her journey. Her mother had never had the chance to teach her how adeptly and she had wanted to ignore her Cetra capabilities as much as possible in the vain hope that Shinra would leave her alone.
[attr="class","ayab-text"] Aerith is taken aback when someone slid into the opposite chair at her table. Blinking owlishly, she takes in the wet man before her and she begins to laugh before she can help herself. Why had he been seeking her out? Did he realize that he looked like a drowned rat? Not to mention that smile of him was full of intent. Oh, she could see that he wanted something from her. Why else would he seek out a woman he had only met once? A thoughtful hum escaped her as she continued to rest her chin upon her hand. "You've been looking for me? Do I get three guesses to see what for?" [break][break]
She feigned an expression of deep thought as if she really was unsure why he would seek her out. Hopefully, he did not have any guards chasing him down again. But, since he was sitting here with a smile, she was quite sure he was no longer wanted. "You want to know more about Sephiroth!" Aerith grinned as if she had just solved the problem without needing those two other guesses! Giggling to herself, she took a moment to sip her hot chocolate before her expression became a little more serious. Sephiroth had been famous in her world and she knew more than most, but she did not know the man personally in the least. [break][break]
"What else did you want to know about him? I can't tell you more than I already did before. I don't know him on a personal level," she warned. The older man had only been an antagonist for her and her group of friends. ANd what she had learned from Cloud's story about Nibelheim? Well, Aerith had felt quite sorry for Sephiroth. From what she understood, he had been a good enough man before his descent into madness. Everything that had happened to him had been a tragedy in the making. In a way, she could empathize with him quite well. Her early life had been spent as little more than a Shinra experiment and being coveted by the company for what they believed she could do. [break][break]
Only a tool. Yes, Aerith could empathize only too well with that.
[attr="class","ayab-text"] There was almost a skip to her step as she followed Cloud's lead. Finding her friend in this new world had been sheer luck for her, but to now know she was going to reunite with another? Aerith was almost giddy from the excitement alone! Oh, she loved each and every one of her friends with her entire heart, but she had an especially soft spot within her heart for Tifa. The other woman could be so soft-spoken and almost shy when first meeting her, but she saw the protective and strong woman beneath that veneer. At least, Aerith certainly liked to believe that she could! Of course, she tried to remind herself that things were not that simple and from what Cloud had told her the others believed her to be dead. [break][break]
Or, well, she had died at some point in a different moment in time. It really was still quite a lot to wrap her head around. Aerith was burning with questions on that particular scenario. She would never ask about those details, though. Not at the present moment, anyway! The experience was a sensitive and traumatic one for Cloud and no doubt for the others as well. Honestly, she only wished to ask because there was a morbid curiosity towards the entire situation for her. Aerith felt quite alive and well and now she knew she had died in a future event that had never taken place for her. What did that mean now that she was here? What would happen to their world in the meantime? [break][break]
Aerith realized that she had been quite silent during their walk as she mused over her own situation. Quickly, the young woman perks herself up as she pivoted on her foot to walks backwards in front of Cloud with a bright smile. "Is there anything I should know before meeting Tifa? What I should or shouldn't say? I don't want to upset her if I can help it." That is her first concern! There is still so much she doesn't know as well. How long has it been since Cloud and Tifa arrived here? It must have been awhile if they had already established a place to stay and a way to earn gil. [break][break]
Well, there was only one way to find out for sure!
