You meander toward the square, where the majority of the festivities are being held. As you approach, you overhear an argument between friends as to who is going to dominate the contest this year. They say its the ultimate test in artistic skill, something only the most creative and talented minds could perform. Intrigued, you look toward them and notice a sign:

Picnic tables and benches are set up with pumpkins galore, all begging to have the most artistic face put upon them. At each station is an array of carving utensils, pencils and paints, and of course an apron to keep you clean as you work. All ages are clearly participating, as you see children dressed up painting away on their small pumpkins. Something suddenly wizzes by your head, floating just above the nearby tables.

A Dorky Face bounces about wildly, laughing as it zooms over the pumpkins below, “Welcome, artists! Who will carve me a wonderful new face for the upcoming year? Don’t be shy, I can’t return to the woods in this old thing, make me something nice!”

(In this thread, your character will carve whatever design their heart desires. All the carvings will be judged by the resident Dorky Face, who somehow claims he can take your pumpkin and wear it for a year. Give him a brand new mug to go show off in the spooky forest, or he might get upset and smash your good gourds. And yes, you’re handling sharp instruments, so do try and be careful…)
