Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Click the image for a super easy new skin guide for a visual tour!
Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.
Provo’s Halloween festivities cover even the far reaching edges of the campground area. In one particular, inconspicuous corner stands a black tent, decorated in shining moons and stars, illuminated only by the light of torches. A sign is posted out front:
T A R O T R E A D I N G S
As you venture into the tent, you’re greeted by all manner of strange things. Lined along shelves are items from various beasts; eyes, wings, tails and more. Strange candles burn all around you, the colors of their flame differing shades of all colors one can imagine. The smell of incense catches your attention, hints of patchouli and sandalwood. Crystals of various sizes and colors catch your eye as you venture further in, realizing that the tent is much larger on the inside than it appears on the outside.
In the middle of the room is a round table, where a woman sits with a deck of strange cards before her. She looks up, startled that anyone has come in, knocking her hat askew as she quickly straightens it and clears her throat, “Oh, uh, howdy! Er, I mean, welcome~”.
It’s suddenly clear she is very much just from the area, and not a mysterious witch from the beyond.
The psychic gives you a smile, gesturing at the table, “Come for a readin’? You won’t be disappointed – and if you are, well, that’s yer own fault. The cards read you first, y’know?”
(In this thread, your character is welcome to sit down and have a tarot reading performed by a local witch! Lala will draw and do a reading with her own cards for your character, and all they’ll need to do is sit down and tell the psychic what kind of reading they would like. You can either do a 3 card or a 4 card clarity reading, but either way, you will need to tell the witch about the situation for which you are seeking answers!)

[attr="class","nikki109"]... As time passes, it really seems like the only 'original' thing Oren's old life had going for it was the existence of Mako. Even Halloween exists in this world... Not even a 'new' thing introduced by 'outsiders' like him either. It is a native part of this realm with its own festivities that were... Well. Exactly like he'd expect. Pumpkins, costumes, mazes meant to scare people, the whole experience. Oren wasn't sure if he should feel nostalgic or not. Regardless, he was still in Provo when all the festivities started so he guessed there was no harm in humoring them. He didn't look particularly festive as he roamed around in just his regular clothes rather than any sort of costume, but he didn't exactly have any time nor motivation to put together one.[break][break]
Oren wasn't sure where to really start here. He's been so lost and now was feeling increasingly confused over everything. He wasn't feeling particularly festive at the moment, but he wanted to try doing... Something here. He wasn't doing any jobs and now wasn't really the time to go looking for more unless an emergency happened. As he wandered around, he noticed a rather extravagantly decorated tent around the grounds. Oren quirked an eyebrow as he approached it and read the sign... 'Tarot Readings'. Oren tilted his head. He was pretty sure he had heard of this somewhere before...? Never put much stock in it, but considering the reality of magic was even more prominent in this world than even back home... Maybe this could give him some further guidance.[break][break]
Oren slowly approached the tent and would venture inside. The inside of the tent was rather strange, but sort of matched the vibe of its outside... The especially odd part was that it seemed to be much larger inside than it looked on the outside. A woman looking like a witch out of some storybook was startled by his arrival at the table she sat at. How long had she been waiting for someone to arrive if she was surprised by this...? She certainly seemed rather... Normal, though. Did she truly have any power of divination? Oren squinted.
[attr="class","dialogue"]"Uh... Hi."
He was growing a little more skeptical, but it wasn't like he had anything to lose besides some time... Which didn't bother him that much.[break][break]
Oren glanced to the sides. Didn't seem like there was anyone else here.
[attr="class","dialogue"]"I guess I can humor you... I've heard of this sort of thing before."
Oren would pull out a chair and move to have a seat, taking the sheathed Lunaris off his back and resting it on his lap.
[attr="class","dialogue"]"If I recall, I just ask you a question and then you'll pull out three cards to deduce an answer... Okay then... What does my current future look like in this world?"
Per tradition, Oren felt like a madman constantly trying to seek answers for WHY he was in Zephon. He had given up entirely for a time, but recent events have renewed an interest in trying to find... Well. Anything. If this reading had any legitimacy, it might shine a light on the true purpose for why he was summoned to this realm.
The woman quickly recovered from being startled by her first customer in – oh god just don’t even look at the clock, it’s not worth it – and quickly sat down as he did as well. She studied the young man for a moment, taking in his fiery hair and glowing eyes. She couldn’t help but feel that such brightness was hidden by his dark clothing, yet even more by his seemingly dark mood.
The young man draped his sword across his lap and spoke the question he wished to find an answer to into the world. Though, his wording was odd … perhaps he was one of those Otherworlders she’d heard of. “Looking for some answers to yer future, eh?” the woman clarified, shuffling the deck with care, “To do that, we gotta glimpse at yer past and yer present. Life is a road with many forks, and the decisions we make at each one lead us toward our futures.”
She finished shuffling the cards before slowly and gently reaching for his hand, placing it upon the deck, “Think strongly about whatcha may wish to find, and split the deck.”
Once the deck was split by his hand and put back together, he had chosen the path his fate would take.
The woman takes a breath, before drawing the first card and flipping it before him.
“The Seven of Cups,” she shows him the card, three cups standing upright on the left and right sides of the card, with the seventh cup upside down in the middle of them, “This card represents your past. The major feelings this card represents are Illusion and Deception, though not toward others, but toward one’s self. In your past, did you find yourself in a situation where you could no longer tell right from wrong, good from bad? Did it seem like everything in your reality suddenly became unknown, fuzzy, unclear? This could have happened because you were tempted down the wrong road, or because you wrapped yourself in lies and deceit to shield yourself from something. This is a haunting and sad card, for if one remains on this path, they are sure to find nothing but despair at the end.”
With that, she draws the next card.
“Justice, the eighth major arcana,” she explains, gesturing to the card depicting a sword lying between two cats, one white and one black, with their tails entwined, “This one represents your present. This is a card that represents Decisions and Karma, should you believe in such a thing. These two creatures represent a side of your soul, waiting for you to choose and make a decision. But, which is right, and which is wrong? The sword represents the heaviness of this choice you need to make, and the weight hangs upon your shoulders. If there is ever a time to believe in chance, fate, or destiny … it is now, in your present. The cards cannot decide for you, but let us see if they can give a glimpse to what your decision should lead you toward.”
And so, the final card is drawn and flipped.
“The Ten of Cups,” she sighs, possibly in relief as she shows Oren the card that depicts five cups across the top of the card and five at the bottom, each with four strings extending from it and attaching to the other cups in all colors, “This card is the near opposite of your past. It radiates Energy. This is a very powerful card representing the joy and excitement of your goals being realized. Your energy and positivity will be practically magnetic to others – infectious, inspiring them as well. Do not doubt the sensations that come with this, and open your heart fully to them when you realize them in your future.”
The cards sat between them as the woman pondered, “You are drawn to the Cups. They represent open-minded and quiet individuals, and mostly involve matters of the heart. Whatever clouds your heart … I do hope you find what it so desperately seeks.”
