After all of those years spent fighting, consuming himself down to the very core of his being... death seemed fine. To finally know peace even though he had to leave the future of the Star to "Him", felt soothing. He was alone, did not feel Zodiark or his fellow Ancients anymore but still the end felt like better closure than he would have ever hoped. He just used the last of his strenght to send the Warrior of Light into the past through the prison that was the Crystal Tower, and he was vanishing. Forever.
What the Star was facing was unstoppable even for someone as powerful as himself, but not for "Him". As he fell deeper an deeper into unconsciousness he knew that everything would be fine. If only... "If only I could see their smiles, just... one more time... just one before I..." . I... who was that "I"? He could not remember. He only remembered his mission, his title. "Elidibus. That is all I am... the heart of a dead god. I... I failed them all...". Uncertainty and regret started to slowly seep into his dying soul. After all he was just an empty husk. How could someone forget even his own name? Did he even remember the loved ones that he was fighting for?
It was a long time ago but he was something more. But then he was consumed by his mission, his promise. He was there, slowly losing the last of himself and it was not as peaceful ad he had hoped. "I beg you, Warrior of Light... do not fail our Star. Do not fail. Not like I did." As the last of him was fading, he felt warmth. Like the Sun was shining on his pale skin again, like it was breathing new life into him. He had a body again, and before the dark took him again, he felt gentle waves of water wash over him, and saw an even more gentle and familiar face in the distance.

He had been roaming along the shore for quite a bit of time now, his lavender hair flowing behind his back for once, instead of being tied in the usual loose braid. With a lute hanging from his back and his shoes in one hand, he walked in tranquility, lost in deep thought as countless times before. The fresh water tingled his senses, gently flowing back and forth around his bare feet.
Suddenly, his train of thought was halted by an extreme disturbance in the surrounding aether. A.. distortion of sorts? It brought him back from his song brainstorming to reality. At first he watched in awe, then he realized there was something extremely familiar about its color. He knew, didn't he? He had seen it before. "Is that..?" he muttered. Why was it so frail? It could not possibly only be because of the Star they drifted in - Hades was perfectly fine the last time they met in Sonora.
But him? He was utterly devoid of aether.
Hythlodaeus approached as his old friend washed ashore. "Heavens.. what has happened to you, my friend?" he asked, although he could clearly see he was unconscious, while dragging him away from the water. He could not believe his own eyes, he seemed to be entirely spent. "Well, I may be absolutely horrible at aetherial manipulation... But I should be able to do at least this much..." After muttering there words, he tried to give his friend whatever energy he could spare, careful not to exhaust himself in the process. The next time he talked, his voice was tired, but gentle and soothing. "Please, Themis.. wake up."
The darkness that surrounded him was unlike any he felt before. Or at least, it was different from anything he felt in a while. It did not feel completely alien to him, just too good for him. It was as if someone had caught him into their arms as he was falling deeper into nothingness, saving him. He felt his own body, the warm sun, the slow rolling of the waves but no matter how hard he tried to open his eyes, he could not do it. After all he used every single drop of his aether to help "Him". "What... what is this?!" he thought, realizing that he was alive once again. "Move. Move! Why... am I trapped? Who did this?!"
He heard footsteps on the sands. "Yes, I could see before. I saw... someone. Who? Did he bring me here?". Suddenly he felt the sand move around him, shifting around and below his limp body. A sweet, musical voice rang out but he could not make out the words that were being spoken. Then a pair of gentle hands grabbed him, dragging him away from the water's embrace onto the warmer sands. More light was passing through the eyelids, letting Elidibus imagine that at that point the Sun must have been at its zenith. "I know this feeling of warmth... I...".
The voice spoke again and then he felt a slow and controlled stream of aether give him the power to open his eyes. He could not focus immediately on the face hovering above him, but he could make out the colors and shapes. "Lavender.. hair", he thought, watching the strands of hair flow with the wind as he heard clear words. "Please, Themis.. wake up".
Elidibus' parched lips disclosed for the first time in his new body, uttering: "Who... is... Themis?"

Hythlodaeus
Waiting patiently for his old friend to recover, Hythlodaeus prayed for him to wake up. He tried his best to help, but he was well aware he could not do much more than he just had. Soon enough, his voice responded, and left the bard speechless for a moment. He looked at Themis in surprise and confusion before eventually shaking his head. "I suppose you are in the same condition as I was when I drifted here." he muttered. "Do not worry about it, for the time being."
He smiled softly, then shifted in position until he was on one knee and extended his hand towards the younger Ancient. "Come, let us bring you somewhere more comfortable. You need to rest and recover your energies." He tried to sound as soothing and reassuring as possible, considering he knew full well the confusion one could be in at their first contact with that Star. "You may not remember me, so allow me to introduce myself." He said a few moments later, whether he had accepted the hand or not.
"I am Hythlodaeus, former chief of the Bureau of the Architect." he explained with the same, never-fading gentle smile on his lips "I am currently a wandering ministrel, to be completely honest, but we can discuss about this later." He chuckled, then looked in the direction of the Hero's Haven. "Can you walk? The resort is nearby. We will find you something to eat.. and maybe some dry clothes."
Although he may have sounded cheerful and possibly carefree, he could not help but worry. What once was a soul overflowing with aether and in a bright, vibrant shade of light blue was now less than a shadow of what it had formerly been. Just what could have brought Themis to consume so much of his energy? Could it truly have only been Zodiark's will? He did not sense Zodiark's presence within him, but still...
He shook the thought away and looked at Themis once again, waiting for him to follow.
So Elidibus came face to face to an old friend that sadly could not remember. Not even the bright eyes of the Ancient could awaken those memories of eld, of his name, of their names. As the wanderer spoke, saying something about drifting here, a ring in his voice sounded familiar, but alas the feeling was short-lived and faded quickly. As Elidbus' parched lips opened once more he felt sand inside of his mouth, that made him cough a bit. After he stopped coughing he asked himself: "Is this normal? Does everyone lose their memories coming to this place?"
As he tried to stand up, their eyes met again, and eventually their hands met too. He did not know why at the time, but somehow as the lavender haired fellow said that he would bring him somewhere more comfortable, he trusted him. He had no reason too, after all how could someone remember Elidibus after such a long time? The last he saw any Unsundered, excluding Emet-Selch and Lahabrea, was eras ago... before the Sundering. "Wait! Are you... from Etheirys? Are you like me?", he asked, his voice as weak as the rest of his body. As the man gripped his hand harder and pulled him to help him stand up, he said something that only an Ancient could know. "The... Bureau... His friend...?" he muttered, the words barely audible.
Then, after Elidibus mustered enough strenght, he answered the ministrel. "Yes I can walk, ministrel. I... thank you for rescuing me." He soon pulled back from the grasp that helped him stand up and started walking beside him, with hunched shoulders, his back arched forward. He felt weak, and hopeless, and soon he stopped walking. His gaze pointed skyward to see a brilliant Sun cover the land with rays of light. "I cannot feel Zodiark at all. After all "he" truly ended what was left of Him. But then again... this is not Etheirys, no. It can't be, I know every ilm of it. And it does not feel like a shard either. And this man... why does he feel so... so..." His train of thought was brought to an alt by Hytlodaeus' eyes that met his own again. He was waiting for Elidibus to walk on, to their destination. The light blue eyes of the younger looking Ancient fixated on the self procaimed ministrel. He felt a slight shiver before opening his mouth, thinking that the question that just came to being in his head would be weird to ask anyone, let alone this wanderer. But he knew about the Bureau, a pillar of those bygone days. More confidently than before, he opened his mouth. "Tell me bard... Who is Themis? Why did you call me so? I will let you know of my name. I am Elidibus, the Emissary, member of the Convocation of Fourteen. "

Hythlodaeus
Hythlodaeus brought a hand to his lips to ‘hide’ a chuckle. ”I am from Amaurot, to be precise, although I did travel to Elpis more often than not.” he replied, then he properly introduced himself and smiled gently, asking a curious: ”Friend of whom?”
Hearing Elidibus call him by title, he wondered for a moment if he should ask to be called by name, but let the thought drift away soon after. ”No need to thank me, my friend. I am fairly sure you would have done the same.” he replied, starting to walk towards the resort. A few moment later, he noticed the ‘boy’ was not following him anymore and turned to be met by his soul, in a darker and much desaturated color from before. The man was desperate, probably feeling empty. Hythlodaeus could not help but pity him. He truly was the shadow of himself - but the lavender-haired Ancient was sure he could help, with enough time and effort.
When their eyes met again, the bard greeted him warmly, his expression cheerfully gentle once again. His question made him sigh. “Oh, dear.” he muttered. ”I’ve known you ever since you were more or less…” he positioned his hand horizontally at the height of his waist ”... this tall.” He continued. What he did not tell him, was that he had not really grown much taller since. ”So yes, you are Elidibus. But before that, and underneath the mask and titles, you are also Themis.” He smiled softly. ”And please, do feel free to informally call me Hythlodaeus. We have reached that stage long ago.” He chuckled once again, covering his mouth with his hand, then turned around. ”So, shall we get you someplace to rest?”
Elidibus was even more confused than before, every other Ancient was dead, how could an Amauroutine that was not part of the Convocation even be alive? Thoughts were racing through his head like arrows flying from a bow. A bow... yes! The Ancient remembered that man, Hytlodaeus, holding a bow side by side with Emet-Selch himself. As they were slowly making their way away from the sea, he kept thinking about it, until he remembered more details. Back then, two people had the gift of soul sight, required to take the Third Seat in the Convocation. In the end, only one was chosen. He suddenly felt weak in the knees, stopping yet again in his tracks, as a wave of sadness washed over him. In those bygone times, there was happiness and peace, but then... then what happened, exactly?
When the bard noticed him and spoke up, he felt like that horrble feeling was temporarily swatted away. Putting into words what he remembered just a moment before, he said "But of course! You were Emet-Selch's friend, the other one born with soul sight. Then you truly are my ally. I felt like you were someone to be trusted, but now I am certain." Their eyes then met again, and Hytlodaeus reiterated how not only that the white-haired Ancient was, in fact Elidibus, but also that beneath the title lied a name, Themis. "Themis... Themis... why can I not remember at all? I swore as Elidibus, that is as clear as day, but what did I...?"
After he tried to focus on his memories, only remembering vague informations, he heard the soulseer talk about his... height? He was taken back to reality and he asked him "Are you... making fun of my size?", wondering how the ministrel could joke in a situation as dire as theirs. Granted, the man looked relaxed even if a tiny bit of worry could be seen in his eyes. He chuckled an then Elidibus could do nothing except nodding at his offer, starting to follow him, as he was still feeling weak and confused.
