The Adventurer's Paradise had not disappointed the lavender-haired Ancient so far - and was still not doing so in any way at the moment. He had just finished playing his guitar in the market square, gently picking the strings to accompany his warm voice in a slightly melancholic, sweet song of his own making. He had sung about his old friends, from whom he had been separated for too long: about their deep connection. how they could understand one another with a single glance, how they had chosen each other. At the end of the song, he had closed his eyes, picturing them right before him. He was alone, though, in his travels.
When he opened his eyes, the colours of the souls in front of him blinded him for a moment. They were bright vibrant - although some more than others. He loved the effect the melodies he played, infused with just a little bit of aether, could have on others. He loved to see the people captivated by the stories he sang, he loved to see their souls resonating with his music. And when the people left, only then did the emptiness come back, weighing his heart down.
After losing himself for a moment in his own thoughts, he painted the usual, friendly smile on his lips. He thanked the people who had not already gone and invited them to come back the following week. After doing this, he stood and hung the guitar on his back. Taking a quick look at the offers the people had given him, he widened his smile a little. He was not playing for the money, but if people were willing to part with it, then it must have meant that he was not as useless as he sometimes thought. At the very least, he would be able to pay for a room and some warm food, for both that day and the next. It was much more than he usually earned.
"I suppose you were right, my friend." he muttered, staring at the offers for a moment "The people truly do seem to like my music."
"Let the light of your soul shine for all to see."

Torenstein was a town that Terra had grown to love. Ever since returning to it and getting back in touch with her best friend and offering to help the citizens should they be needed she could not help herself. She had taken to wandering the city streets and just offering aid wherever and whenever it was needed. Everything from a simple scraped knee to a full blown fight and dispute that needed to be resolved she had gotten her nose stuck in the middle of. It seemed that her association with the Dragonblades had garnered her some level of leniency and trust with those in charge. Certainly she was grateful that she was not harming their reputation in the slightest.
Yet today had been a gratefully slow day and something had caught her ear as she wandered around. A delicate voice and strumming of an instrument. Something she had grown a little familiar with as there were performers all over the place and yet there was something different about this one. Allowing herself to wander in she would find herself slowly approaching the musician through the small crowd of people that had stopped dto listen to the man perform for them.
Having arrived halfway through his performance she had not gotten to hear the entirety of his story and yet she could not help but feel that it was one that touched the man. As his facial expressions showed her just how he put his all into the music. It was something that she could not help but feel a smidge jealous that he could perform so easily. Watching as the majority of the crowd headed out she was going to wait and approach after all the others did so. Seeing the last of the people leave him gil and heading out she deigned to approach him. Catching the last of the things that he said to himself she put on her usual pleasant smile snd chimed up.
“People appreciate those that can take their minds off of things in their own lives if only for a few moment. Your music and story most certainly did that good sir. It was a treat to listen to even if I had not caught all of your performance.” As she finished speaking Terra moved just ever so slightly the blue of her cape moving to the side as she gave him a slight proper bow of greetings.

A feminine voice distracted his from his own thoughts soon after he finished that sentence - had he said it? Apparently he did, considering what the girl said as he turned around to face her with the usual, sweet smile on his lips. "Thank you, my lady." he said, bowing his head just slightly to accompany his words. "I am glad I could reach the hearts of this many people." he confessed, then he put away the money and looked at the girl once again. He had never seen such shades on anyone, back in his homeworld, which could only mean she came from another. He had learned, in time, that every Star had a very specific shade or pattern that belonged to it - and it alone. Thus was he able to understand roughly the origins of people.
Thoughts aside, he kept smiling kindly at the girl. "I am Hythlodaeus, wandering ministrel. May I ask for your name?" he said, then he took the guitar in his hands once again. "As for what you said before.. I can sing for you again, if you like - this or another story. I have plenty to share." He looked at the guitar, then in the girl's eyes. "I have heard tales from far and beyond, surely I will find one for you." After these words, he looked to the side. "Or perhaps I could ask you to keep me company for a short while? I would like to know your story. Maybe I can put it into song, soon enough. If you allow me, of course."
"Let the light of your soul shine for all to see."

As Hythlodaeus spoke and thanked her for the compliment she could not help but give a shy smile back toward him. Hearing his reasoning for performing as he did brought a warmth to her heart. For Terra it was something that struck a chord deep down as she remembered the fighting back home that she had done. All the fighting she had done was to brighten the hearts and minds of people. Though as he turned away and then brought back his gaze to her Terra could not help but feel a little twinge run down her spine as if the man was peering directly into her soul.
That sensation disappeared however as the man introduced himself to her. It drew Terra from the momentary fugue state that was inside of. The proper introduction reminded her of Edgar but without the undertones of flirtatious aims. “I am Terra, Terra Branford. It is a pleasure to meet a wandering mistral as talented as you are Hythlodaeus.”
Terra could not help but feel a slight blush come over her cheeks as he showed her kindness by mentioning that he would perform once more for her. Though what also intrigued her was about how he had heard tales from far and beyond. As if he had been here on Zephon as long as she had and had met many a soul before her. Many different people like the many that Terra had met over the years. Though hearing the invitation to just keep him company and to chat made her even happier. As that was certainly one of the pastimes that she was not going to overlook nor turn down.
”I would love to keep you company and to speak with you. Though sharing my story I would love to hear more about your own story. A minstrel such as you must have led a wonderful life and have many tales of wonder that you can share with me?” Terra could not help herself but smile as she spoke. Each day was still a beautiful thing for her even if she was seemingly stuck here on Zephon.
Looking around she noticed a picnic table that no one was using several dozen yards from them. Making a motion toward it she spoke up once more. ”How about we go and take a seat so that we can talk easier. As my story is a long one and I doubt yours is any less lengthy.”

"It sounds like a kind name. And thank you, I am honored of being called talented." said the bard with a sweet smile on his lips when he heard the girl's name and her compliment. It was more or less his standard expression, just perhaps even friendlier than usual. A little later, after saying he could play for her or they could keep company to each other, he listened to the girl's response and widened his smile a little. "I have not led such an interesting life, I'm afraid." he replied before chuckling "But I am more than glad to share a few stories with you." He followed her gaze and gesture when it wandered in search for a quieter place to speak comfortably in. "As you wish, Terra. I will follow you."
While following the girl to the table, the ancient let his eyes wander, following the currents of aether that swirled and travelled through everything and everyone around them. The shades he could see with his Soulsight were different from the ones back in Amaurot or Elpis. He loved to look for the tiniest details that made the difference, be it in the hue or shape that the aether would take while roaming. It was beautiful and unique, unlike anything else. He truly felt lucky for this gift to have been bestowed upon him at birth by the very Star.
Once at the table, he let his instrument rest on the ground, leaning onto it, and took a seat in front of the girl. "Allow me to ask you again. Would you tell me your story, Terra? You look like someone.. who has suffered from great pain." he started, now focusing on her. "But also like someone incredibly kind, and loving. Am I reading you right?"He concluded, trying now to focus on her actual face instead of the colors of her soul. It was hard to ignore his gift, he could not really turn it off and on at will, but at least he could try to see through the aether. Maybe.
