II. PERSONA
-All his life, Joshua felt the pressure of being an incredible Phoenix and leader to his people.
-Growing up as the archduke's second son and Dominant of the Eikon of fire, he always felt constrained and overestimated by others, notably by his mother who wished to preserve their 'noble' lineage in the family while giving a good image of the Pheonix's vessel to the citizens of Rosaria.
-He doesn't want to rely on others for help.
-He also doesn't let other people shoulder the burden on their own, even though he does the same.
-He loves to read any kinds of books, manuscripts, etc. that he can get his hands on.
-Although his health was (and is still) fragile, he was able to command the Undying and learn swordsmanship on his own during the years he was apart from his brother.
-He considers himself to be a kind-hearted and empathic man that never abandons a fight, even if all hope is lost.
-He can sometimes be forgiving of people who hurt him in the past.
-He always looks up to Clive as if he was some kind of hero, knowing he would have made a better Pheonix than he was.
-Although he has matured over time, he sometimes continues act childish with those close to him.
-He greatly hates eating carrots.
-He wishes for a normal, stable life now that Ultima has been eliminated. He dreams of travelling the world by himself before settling down in Zephon and starting a family of his own with the one he loves (if he ever finds "the one" that is).

III. HISTORY
“My flames may flicker… But they shall never die!”
Growing up as the Dominant of Pheonix, Joshua never had the freedom of taking decisions for himself. Most of the time, he was maintained at Rosalith castle where his mother, Annabella, could keep an eye on him to preserve him from danger while also keeping him away from the “lower class” people of Rosaria. Of course, he never listened to her and often left the palace in secrecy with the help of Clive and Jill. He would get reprimanded later on for his "risky" actions, but he never stopped doing it as they were the only happy moments in his life that made him feel like a normal kid again.
In the year 859, Joshua attended the Remembrance Ceremony with his father, Archduke Elwin, and other representatives from the Holy Empire of Sanbreque and the Dhalmekian Republic. It was during that same ceremony that he met for the first time Prince Dion Lesage, Dominant of Bahamut, whom he became quite fond of as a "friend." Elwin, could not be more pleased than to see the boys befriending each other at the celebrations, thinking that a new era of peace would be brought for with this next generation of Dominants, but little did he know it was only a facade that would slowly lead to the betrayal of his wife and the end of their alliances less than a year later during the Phoenix Gates events.
Joshua remembered this battle so vividly in his mind that it still haunted him till this day. The moment his father was executed by people whom they thought were their allies, himself being overwhelmed by the grand power of Phoenix, and Clive coming to rescue his little brother despite having no powers to help him control his new ability. Everything had been engraved in his brain like black ink tattooed on his skin. The only thing he could not entirely remember was the moment he was extricated from the debris by people of the Undying soon after the end of the fight.
Due to the shock of his sudden transformation as Phoenix, Joshua remained in a coma for five years during which he was taken care of by various Undying acolytes in Tabor. Upon finally regaining consciousness at their operation base, the young Dominant was acclaimed by all for his unexpected awakening and immediately placed under their protection in case of another attempt on his life. For added safety measures, he was assigned Jote, another member of the Undying, as his attendant to serve and keep an eye on him during his healing phase.
Although he disliked the idea of being taken care of by another person during his recovery, Joshua found himself to be quite interested in the girl who served him as his “assistant” and eventually formed a friendly relationship with her over the time they spent together. Since he was not allowed to participate in field research regarding the events at the Phoenix Gates until he was eighteen, Jote kept him informed of new discoveries they made during their mission, forgetting no detail about the testimonies they had collected from very important witnesses in Rosaria.
As time went by, Joshua ultimately joined the investigations and researched any books he could get his hands on that would help him solve the mystery surrounding Ifrit’s sudden appearance in the kingdom more than three years ago. While he did examine works of another era throughout his free time, he also made time for his sword training, feeling the need to stop relying on others in order to become stronger as a vessel of the legendary Eikon of Fire.
By the age of 20, his investigation took an abrupt turn when it was revealed that his older brother, Clive, survived the events at Phoenix Gates and was currently kept as a marked bearer in the imperial army of Sanbreque. The Undying suspected that the eldest Rosfield boy might be the evil dominant they were looking for, but Joshua denied their allegations and instead demanded that they continue their research on Ifrit to learn more about what was really going on in the world of Valisthea.
It took him almost two years before he was able to make a connection between Ultima (a god-like figure who should have left Clive, Jill, Joshua, and Dion alone >.<) and the mothercrystals, thanks to Moss the Chronicler’s parchments. Joshua believed that by learning more about Ultima and his schemes, he would know how to eliminate him in the best way possible without risking the lives of millions of innocent people. As such, he decided to undertake a long journey across the kingdoms in the company of his servant, Jote, in search of a solution that would permanently eradicate evil from spreading across their lands for good. It was not an easy task, and Joshua knew it, but he continued anyway, knowing that his mission would eventually end in saving the world from the mysterious entity they once called “god.”
Unfortunately for him, he arrived too late and had no choice but to seal this supreme being within himself to protect his brother and long-time friend from certain death at Drake's Head. In doing so, Joshua not only condemned himself to be Ultima's eternal prison, but he also sacrificed his own health and body to protect others from the harm of this evil entity, aware that he may have signed his death warrant. And yet, despite Fate being against him, the young Rosfield man continued his lifelong mission against Ultima in hopes of ending his reign once and for all.
By 878, Joshua was reunited with his old time friend, Prince Dion, after learning of Ultima’s involvement in Sanbreque’s politics. He tried to help him to the best of his capabilities, but even he couldn’t stop the god’s plans due to his weakened state. This ultimately led to a tearful reunion between him, Clive and Jill, who taught him that he was no longer alone in this fight despite the success rate of their mission.
Together, they fought tirelessly against Ultima and her servants across the Valisthean lands and eventually killed the vile deity at the cost of two lives, those of Bahamut and the Phoenix.
Joshua Rosfield's story could have ended there as fate had decided a long time ago... but a certain red star decided otherwise, wanting to give a second chance at life to this unlucky hero of Valisthea.
With memories of his old life and a fresh start in the world of Zephon, will the Phoenix be able to mend his heart and soul according to his own principles? That is for you to discover in rp~
