Throughout her brief time in Sonora, Luna had utilized the underground subway system constantly. Initially, it was just her caretaker's preferred method of transportation. It was quickly becoming something she looked forward to when traveling to new parts of the city. Each station had it's own life and depending on the neighbourhood or district being passed through, reflected the class of citizens. At this point, she'd experienced a healthy sample from poor to rich, having to accompany Lorenzo for different 'transactions'. The only place he wouldn't take her to, was the Scrapyard. Whenever he needed to go there, he'd make sure to call in some security personnel and have her stay in a fancy hotel or at the office.
Tonight, she'd be coming in from the west end. Having seen the various mining towns and the precious metals they were extracting on behalf of various corporate interests. Her mood had become rather melancholy, for despite the value of those goods, the towns were nowhere near the affluence of the city proper. All the technology, yet none of the benefits, left for a rather eye opening experience.
One man had mistaken her for the rich daughter of some CEO. Given the silver dress with it's long sleeves and off-white accents, she didn't have the heart to correct him. These days, she was the guest of a wealthy Mistress. Specializing in trade routes across Zephon; her ship routes were between Provo and Zephon and Provo to Torensten. She did get to see the ship and crew recently but not the elusive Mistress that was her sponsor. Apparently, she was feeling well as of late, which meant Lorenzo had to step up operations. Said Mistress has a sister, who was due to arrive in Sonora soon. Lorenzo was counting down the days till the relief would come.
In fact, as she looked to the seat next to her, he was on his phone looking at a calendar. She gave him a faint smile before looking out the window. The lighting strong enough to show her reflection as her car pulled into the next stop. Just a few more before they reached downtown. The slow stop was accompanied by the station name and the doors opening to let some passengers off, while letting others board.
Sleep was for the weak. He'd gone without it. Granted, there was going to be a big event coming up real soon, that he should probably be rested for, but he could do without. In fact, he was pretty sure it would just be awkward if he tried to get some rest. Best to just see a city that never sleep, let the adrenaline build and power him through the whole affair. Plus, well, he'd also heard that this place had Blitzball. That was a name that he hadn't heard in a very long time. He was something of a Blitz Ace himself back home. He was also considered pretty contact heavy even by Blitzball standards, so that might have had something to do with it. Absentmindedly he twirled the ticket between his fingers as he stepped onto the train. The others would be fine without him for the moment. Probably. Even if they did have a knack for getting into trouble when they really shouldn't.
And as he looked up from his ticket, looking for an open seat he could snag, he paused for a moment as his eyes stopped on one particular face. Really? Here? He recognized her immediately; someone who would turn the head of everyone in the room. Well, that and he just had a really good memory about these sorts of things. It always surprised people. But he'd gotten a brief glance of her when Noctis returned to his world, and one thought came to mind; Okay. She's obviously in trouble. Because of course she would be. Prompto had been getting chased by guards. Noctis wrecked a cab and got chased by police. If he had a gil for every time, he'd have two gil. Wasn't much, but it was weird that it happened twice. Needless to say, going by previous experience, she was probably in danger, too.
But, this would require a more delicate touch to get her out of whatever nefarious peril this was. Calm, smooth. Maybe he could get one of them out for once without getting shot at. "Excuse me." He remarked as he approached her and the older man. "Your name wouldn't happen to be Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, would it?" He knew it was. He was certain this was her. It was just... finding a way to get her back to Noctis. She'd probably be really happy to see him. Fiance and all that.
"...Yes, I believe so—" Luna remarked absentmindedly until she'd turned to look at the one inquiring. "Excuse me, Mister— Have we met, before?" seeing him rang no bells though the likelihood that she'd have any recollection at all was very slim. Such was the extent of her amnesia, that she was hardly certain of her name. Was she perhaps misremembering another's name, someone she was close to? It did feel distinct enough, with a convention that indicated royalty. She was certain she had been a Princess but could that be wishful thinking? She could just as easily have been a handmaiden for a Princess.
"Terribly sorry, the Lady is suffering from amnesia, a real bad case based on medical examination. My name is Lorenzo, I work for a wealthy Proprietor who is currently sponsoring Lady Lunafreya. I've been tasked by her to act as a caretaker and escort, until my Mistress' sister arrives in Sonora to verify the situation."
the gentleman beside her spoke rather eloquently, with the mannerisms one would expect of the elite of Sonora.
He'd reached into his breast pocket and retrieve a business card, holding it up to offer to the stranger that recognized his charge.
"In case you had any doubts, as I'm native to Sonora but the Lady's sponsor, is not."
given the local sentiment pertaining to dimension travelers, he wanted to subtly ease the man's concerns on the situation. For once, a member of a certain group was not in trouble, the kindness of a stranger prevailed to aid a damsel in distress.
As for Lunafreya, she tilted her head but seemed fixated on studying Alex further. A questioning glint in her eyes as so many questions ran through her mind. "...Are you certain? That I am who you say?" the anxious expression she held, where ordinarily she maintained a steady conviction and love in her heart. Such was Luna's distress, that she needed something, perhaps someone; to anchor her. So that she could regain some semblance of normalcy again.
Yep. It was her. To even answer him without looking in his direction just confirmed it for him. The only question was whether they had met. He nodded halfway. "Yeah, sort of." It was... far more complicated. But she didn't know him, obviously. He didn't expect her to. But explaining that they kinda briefly saw each other while her fiance had been stranded in his world on the way back would probably be a bit complicated, difficult to believe, and a bit much to take in. As a result, he just figured it was easier to roll with it. They could fill that in when they all got back together with Noctis and Prompto and all had a happy reunion, especially once Ignis and Gladio were out of prison. Well, assuming he wasn't just immediately forced to go away, that was also a proposition. He could already imagine how Prompto would react with Alex showing up with Lunafreya in tow. He had a feeling that it wouldn't be pretty in any way.
Of course, the older gentleman was quick to intercede, introducing himself as Lorenzo, and explaining her situation. Amnesia. That made it even worse. Right. The rest of the explanation didn't help either. Oh. There it was. His Mistress. And her sister. Lunafreya being sponsored by some wealthy proprieter. Uh-huh. He did another once over on the card. His golden eyes only looked back up when Lunafreya spoke to him again. She seemed anxious. Yeah, there was definitely a problem going on, things were lining up too well to not be fishy. Slipping the card into his pocket, he met her gaze with a smile. "Without a doubt. You stand out, Miss Lunafreya of Eos." There had been something entertaining about watching everyone around him gush about how gorgeous she was when Noctis had gone home. "You're the one who reflexively said yes, after all." Still, he wouldn't point out the whole, her being a princess thing.
Because he did not trust Lorenzo.
Which going back to him, he looked over at the old man, then back to Luna. He did want to satisfy her curiosity as best he could, but he had a feeling the less Lorenzo knew, the better. "I don't want to overwhelm you if your amnesia's that bad, but yeah, I'd love to share some if you're willing." She seemed almost eager, too. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he figured he'd make a simple request. "Hey, Lorenzo, you don't mind if her and I have some privacy, do you?" A simple request that seemed easy enough; a reunion that would obviously have some emotion tied to it that might want to be experienced without any onlookers staring intently. Easy to understand, right?
There was some relief knowing they met, even if the circumstances seemed too complicated for quick discourse. What distressed her was not recalling that encounter or anything. Her mind was a blank slate, stripped of everything that made her...a person. Fortunately, Alex had enough confidence for both of them. When he stated her name again, he included a designation of where she was from. 'Eos', she mentally tried to sound it out but by the look in her eyes, it did not wring any bells. Which left her frustrated and in a pensive state. His reassurance was taken with a measured glance. The reflexively answering part was compelling yet she couldn't be certain.
The care he seemed to show, gave a mixed signal in contrast to Lorenzo. Though he wasn't as old as he acted, being in his mid to late twenties, he certainly had the mannerisms to fit the Butler stereotype. Thus, it was only natural that the request made of him was met briefly with concern:
"...Certainly. It's good that she's met a familiar face. Just try not to stray too far."
An equally fair, yet subtle response. It's not like the lady was in a hostage situation after all. Though Lorenzo worried she could easily be, without clearing people first. Failure to protect a fellow Outlander, would leave his Mistress quite vex. So he gave them a fair amount of space, particularly if this man was a lover perhaps. It would explain things, that would be quite the fated encounter. He only needed to keep a passive watch if so.
As for Luna, the opportunity to have any insights, was not something she could pass up. That she restrained herself enough for Lorenzo to give them privacy, was an act of sheer discipline and upbringing! "I worry that my name, might be borrowed from another. That the fleeting semblances that I can intuit, are merely wishful thinking. In the end, everything about me has been taken away from me." well, except one part of her. Was it right to use the term 'pining', she wasn't sure if the vague notions of that person was romantic love or the sentiment one held for a dear childhood friend. Neither could be possible too, that left her hesitant to even bring up that bit.
"Please, can you tell me a bit more. I'm stronger than I look." Of course, if roles were reversed, she'd have the same caution about sharing too much all at once. There was no way to be certain which memory would act like a painful trigger, opening the flood gates. On the other hand, what if there was nothing to recollect. That her condition was no mere amnesia but something more? For Luna, there was no point in overly speculating. It only led her thoughts to dark places.
