II. PERSONA
Zack has a tendency to always be positive and happy, looking to the bright side of most situations. Sometimes, his humor will come into play when the situation doesn't really call for it. It's due to the fact that he is not a fan on confrontation and tense situations. He tries to deflect them if at all possible, and therefore, earned himself the nickname 'Puppy'. He has the same hyperness as a little puppy, and will gladly befriend anyone who comes his way. He isn't a terrible person to have in a bad situation because he can totally be a good distraction.
The attention span on this one is that of a puppy as well. While he is decent at sticking to the task at hand, little things can steer him in another direction for a moment, especially conversations. Get him talking, and you'll be in for an ear full. Though he is attracted to both men and women, he tends to go after women more often than men, as he thinks they are far easier to sway with his charming personality. Even if they are the enemy, Zack will still try to smooth talk his way out of anything he probably got himself into.
Don't let all that fool you though, this man learned well from his mentor. Zack is dedicated to whatever he sets his mind to, and he will get the job done by all means neccessary. He doesn't believe in being better than anyone else, he just wants to be better than who he was the day before. He focuses on being a better person for himself before others, believing that you can't make others happy unless you are happy with yourself. He is a joy to be around, and you will definitely have a good time if Zack Fair is around.

III. HISTORY
Zack Fair was born in Gongaga and had a pretty normal childhood. He had his small group of friends, and parents who helped out around the community. He and his friends would always play fight with each other, and would pretend they were part of SOLDIER, as most little boys on Gaia did. Zack was different than all the other boys in town though, he actually pursued his dreams. At the age of thirteen, Zack left Gongaga and headed towards Midgar to join SOLDIER, with only a note left behind to tell his parents.
The dedication that he had growing up paid off, as Zack flew through training and was Second Class within two years. Of course, he had his mentor to thank for that. Despite his rambunctious additude, First Class Angeal Hewley apparently saw potential in Zack and took him on as his protege. Zack listened to Angeal, and took his words of pride and honor to heart, but that never stopped him from being himself. In a way, it seemed that sometimes, Angeal liked having someone with all that energy around. Maybe it reminded him that not everything was terrible.
Zack had met another boy there as well, another Second Class SOLDIER named Kunsel. It was weird, Kunsel never seemed to go out on missions, but he always knew things. Not just things, everything. How he got his intel was beyond Zack, but he appreciated it anyways! During a chat with Kunsel, Zack is called in to the Director's office. Angeal is there and mentions that he has recommended him for First Class. Of course, Zack was thrilled! He hugged Angeal and thanked him. Then he was informed that two would be going to Wutai.
Hearing at the point that Genesis was missing as well, Zack didn't hesitate to take the mission. When the arrive in Wutai, Angeal and Zack talk about dumbapples and Genesis, and then it was time! As he is trying to get into Fort Tamblin, he encounters a kid named Yuffie. He pretends to be injured by her and she takes off proudly. He defeats two monsters, but is saved by Angeal when one ended up counterattacking. After that, the two start to head home, but are ambushed by unknown soldiers. Angeal stays behind to attack them, while Zack takes the Director, who showed up randomly, and gets him to safety.
When he returns, Angeal is gone and he has to battle Ifrit. He's almost defeated, but Sephiroth shows up just in time. They both then realize that the soldiers are Genesis copies, and that Angeal seems to have left to join up with Genesis. Zack's next task is to head to Banora with Tseng of the Turks. There they find the grave of Genesis' adoptive parents and Zack locates Angeal's mother, who doesn't know where Angeal is either.
Genesis and Angeal are found in an old factory, and after an altercation, the two First Class SOLDIERs leave, and the Turks bomb Banora. Zack goes back to save Gillian, but she is already dead. When they return, Zack is promoted to First Class, which he isn't as happy about as he thought he'd be. Genesis copies attack Shinra, and Sephiroth and Zack fight them off and head to the Sector 5 reactor. They encounter Genesis and Angeal, who both now have wings. Zack refuses to fight Angeal, so Angeal destroys the platform and sends Zack falling.
Zack wakes up in Sector 5 slums, in a church where he meets Aerith. They hang out a bit and then Zack is called to upper Midgar to go after Genesis. On the way, Angeal shows up and flies him to the destination. After another battle, Zack loses Genesis and Angeal and heads back. His next mission is to Modeoheim with Tseng and other Shinra infantryman, one who who ends up his friend Cloud. When they arrive, Zack battles Genesis and thinks he has won. When he runs into Angeal, his mentor fuses with monsters and turns into Angeal Penance. Zack ends up defeating Angeal Penance, but is scratched on the cheek. Angeal hands the Buster Sword to Zack, telling him to remember his dreams and honor.
During a vacation in Costa Del Sol, Cissnei shows up to talk to him and they are attacked by Genesis copies. The defeat them and Zack is then sent to Junon to take care of the Shinra copies. That is soon taken care of and Zack is sent to Nibelheim, along with Cloud and Sephiroth. There, Sephiroth finds out a deep secret and goes insane. He burns the town down and steal Jenova's head. Both Zack and Cloud try to fight him, but both end up badly injured and pass out. The memories after that are hazy until about four years later.
Zack hunts down Genesis and finds him in Banora. There, he defeats him once a for all. After that, Zack carries Cloud, determined to make it to Midgar. They are stopped by the Shinra army when they get close to Midgar, and Zack fights them off but almost loses his life in the process. Instead, he wakes up, not having a single clue where he is. He notices that the Buster Sword is still with him, and fears for what happened to Cloud. Deciding it would be best to figure it out, he places the sword back on his back, and heads into the nearest town.

ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE:: "96. 97. 98. 99. 100. Alright Cloud, time to go." They were getting close to Midgar, but even that wouldn't stop Zack from getting in a good round of squats before continuing the journey. He couldn't believe they were so close, and it was going to take an army to stop them now! As he approached the cliff edge of the cliff, he decided now would be a good time to eat his own words, er, thoughts. Right smack in front of him was, in fact, an army. A Shinra army to be correct. "Oh look Cloud, they sent us a welcoming commity." Smirking to himself, he thought it was best that he hid Cloud from them, since he was in no condition to fight. So he laid him down behind some rocks.
Without even arming himself, he casually walked up to the army. Giving them a smirk, he shook his head. "Boy, oh boy. The price of freedom sure is steep." So it had come to this. After everything that had happened, Shinra still saw him as a threat. Hadn't he done enough for them!? Angeal, Genesis, Sephiroth, they were all gone now! Well, if it was a fight they wanted, it was fight they were going to get. Pulling out the Buster Sword, he brought it to his forehead. "Embrace your dreams. And, whatever happens, protect you honor. As SOLDIER! Come and get it!" With that, he took off towards the army.
The whole thing was a blur to be honest. There was bullets everywhere. Shinra soldiers going down left and right. To be honest, Zack hadn't even wanted to fight them. In the end, that was what had to happen. He had taken most of them down, but they still got him. His mind drifted off to Cloud, hoping they didn't find him before retreating the little amount of survivors. As if to hear his thoughts, he heard something moving towards him, and then, Cloud was above him.
Did he really look that bad!? Cloud looked way too worried and, for the first time, Zack was having troubles getting his voice to work. So this was what dying felt like. Weird. 'I definitely thought it would hurt more.' When Cloud finally said his name, Zack tried to smile. Instead, he used what energy he had left and reached for the Buster Sword. "For the...both of us." When Cloud looked confused and repeated it back, Zack gave a small nod. "That's right...You're gonna...Live." He reached up the bring Cloud to his chest. "You'll be...my living legacy."
His left arm then gave out, letting Cloud sit up again. He used his right arm to bring the handle of the Buster Sword to Cloud. "My honor...My dreams...They're yours now." Zack was getting tired, but before drifting off, he smiled as he heard Cloud repeat what he had told him. Good, he heard. Zack thought that it was the end for him for about ten minutes before he woke up. When he opened his eyes though, he almost screamed. Everything was different! Sitting straight up, he noticed he wasn't bleeding anymore. "Am I in heaven?" There was only like a few people around since he woke up in a small park it seemed, but they were a little concerned.
"Well then."
