"True power is not something that is found by those who seek it. It is something that comes to those who deserve it."
The moon cast it's luminescent glow over the pale coast, the water gently lapping at the earth was not enough to cause waves but it was enough that a soft melody filled the quiet night. Serene and undisturbed until a soft glow lit the sky in a brilliant flash, leaving as quickly as it arrived. On the sand in the wake of the disturbance laid a young woman dressed in a pristine white dress.
'Is your journey over?' A voice whispered, dragging the woman's consciousness from nothing to waking, 'are you content in the path you walked?' It continued as with each second more of her mind awoke. Feeling came back and with it was a sharp sting of the night air that cut like daggers against her skin, the coarse sand under her finger tips scraped against the soft flesh. Movement was next, her hands twitched and eyelids fluttered before they slid open unable to do more for the moment but look at the night sky.
It took time before she was able to sit up, her body aching and throat dry. There was a fog that was engulfing her mind, she closed her eyes trying to piece together what was happening… It didn't come rushing back, small things gently whispered into her mind, "Lunafreya meet…" a small flash of a young boy's face, dark hair blue eyes who looked uncomfortable dressed in fine clothes.
The next was of fire and a woman, regal and unwavering standing down a wave of armed men before falling… Her mother… Another boy with hair as pale as the snow cried out in anguish and kneeling at her side… Her brother…
The next image was a man… A soldier maybe? With dark hair and blue eyes… Protecting her as a city fell around them, fire and ash choking the night sky. His voice was deep and firm, "You got a destiny to take care of here, remember? Besides, didn't anyone tell you? I'm the hero around here."
A demon with the skin of a man stretched across its body, his words holding nothing but lies and his eyes showing nothing but malice. "Now about that ring… On second thought… You let him have it…" He was the one that had sunk his blade into her side…
Her body lurched and her hand scrambled to grab over her side, there was nothing there her dress was flawless with no evidence of being injured or ruined… She really was alive… Shakily Lunafreya stood up and finally took in her surroundings, she gently hugged herself to keep the warmth she had before she took a breath. Unfamiliar was the landscape with no choice but to start and make her way to find a village or city to find out where she was. She followed the coastline something telling her that she would run into something, finally she felt the sun warm her skin as it started to crawl up from the horizon. Silence broke to faint noise and eventually she saw what she was looking for, a port it seemed; bustling in the early morning hours.
Relief gently settled through her as she approached a small group of people readying themselves for a day of fishing, "Excuse me, I'm terribly sorry to bother you." She called and took pause not far away, "can you tell me where I'm at?" She asked and clasped her hands in front of her.
Pausing their work the small group looked confused and looked to each other, "you are in the Port district of Torensten…" One of them said as they continued their work, "you lost?" The one that had spoken added, studying her with furrowed brows.
Luna hummed, "more than likely." She admitted, "can you point me to the main city?" She asked and offered a small smile, she had never heard of Torensten… The directions had been simple and with a small bow and a thank you she left the group to continue on.

While the Zephonian journey of the Oracle, Lady Lunafreya was just beginning... Caius had begun his new journey a long time ago. Now after what felt like years into his foray in Zephon, the one-time Kingsglaive had made a living for himself here as a mercenary. A co-leader and figurehead for the Dragonblades Mercenary Guild that primarily made its keep in the City of Torensten, he had hung up the Kingsglaive jacket that had defined him for years, some time ago. Now he wore a similar looking garb, but with armored platings in different places, a woolen collar and the symbol of a dragon's head aligned with two swords now embellished on the back where the insignia of the Kingsglaive had once been. He still wore the pride of Lucis in his heart, though.
Said mercenary was restocking on fishing bait for the next fishing trip with Vordun when a voice registered to the young man's senses. He didn't know how to explain it but he felt like he had heard it before. His neck snapped towards them, and he eavesdropped as the woman was given quick directions on how to get to the main city area. Paying for the bait, Caius pocketed it before deciding to gingerly make his way over. Perhaps he should have called to her from a bit further away, though. He was still very much unaware sometimes that he was a 6'4 man. But his movements were gentle and conveyed no malice.
"Excuse me, miss?"
He could only see the side of her face, but something felt familiar to him... He'd seen her before, hadn't he? Seen her, heard her... But it was so long ago that it was hard to make out. He didn't know how or why, but the honeyed words radiating from a beautiful woman emblazoned on a screen stuck out to him. But it was just so long ago... At times he'd almost forgotten that he had seen a television at all prior to his trip to Sonora.
"Please bear with me, but I couldn't help overhearing you're looking for help getting around. Am I safe to assume that you didn't come here on purpose?" he inquired, hoping he wasn't mistaken. Then he remembered he'd forgotten, ironically, the golden rule. Introduction. "Oh, right, um... My name is Caius. I'm a mercenary that operates in this area. I know the place well enough, so if there's uh... Somewhere you're looking for, maybe I can help?"
While he spoke as formally as a soldier, it didn't take a genius to figure out that Caius was a bit socially awkward at times. It was a hilarious contrast. He had hardened warrior written all over him, but in this moment he was soft and aloof and awkward. His words spoken formally, but at the same time every syllable was uttered with a tender, gentle tone.
The Oracle was quite fascinated with the port, the way the people moved and went about reminded her of Altissia before the chaos and attack from Nifflhiem. Her crystal blue eyes scanned further along the rows of ships but when she heard someone call to her she took a pause and shifted to look upon the owner of the voice. A brief flash of surprise crossed her delicate features as she took a moment to fully look at the tall man. His attire was vaguely familiar, almost reminiscent of the Kingsglaive… With that thought she felt a tight pull in her chest, she remembered the Glaives, brave men and women who fought for the safety of their King.
His face seemed kind and she felt no ill will coming from him so her body relaxed. A gentle smile crossed her lips, and her hands gently clasped, "you are well met Caius, I am Lunafreya." She started with, her head dipping to a respectful bow causing her pale hair to slightly obscure her face till it lifted again. Her voice though soft was anything but uncertain or showed that his presence or appearance frightened her. "I am truly grateful for your offer but I have no money to offer for your service." She said apologetically, at least she could recognize terms as long as they had similar meanings to her world.
She took a few moments and thought of his words, "it is true I did not come here on purpose and I have yet to learn more than the name of the main city." She said with a small laugh, "but if information is free, would you be agreeable to me asking you some questions about where I am, this world at least since it is foreign to me." She asked, it must be a casual thing for people to show up unexpectedly, for if it wasn't then the conversation would probably be more… Confusing and potentially frustrating for sure, but this man seemed patient though and she was grateful that he had been kind to offer assistance.
Fear was something the Oracle never gave in to, while being alone in this new world was daunting so had her mission back home been. She had traveled months alone and through generosity of the people she served she had made it safer to Altissia than when she had faced the God of the waters and the demon of the past. She would figure out a way to survive this trial.

Lunafreya.
It couldn't be, could it? He had seen pictures, and her name was the same, but... He was so young when he had seen her, so he wasn't sure offhand. He supposed he couldn't make any assumptions right away. So instead he politely bowed in return. She said that she had no money to offer for his services, but he shook his head. "For directions? I couldn't charge you for that" he promised her with a gentle smile. He may be a mercenary but for something so simple? Caius' jobs typically involved fighting monsters and bandits, directions were a simple affair.
She said that she did not come here on purpose, indicating she was an off-worlder like him. So she had likely just gotten here, and was trying to figure out where in the world she was and where she could go. Despite that, she seemed quite calm. There didn't seem to be even an inch of panic there. "Of course. What would you like to know?" Caius inquired, studying her expressions in turn. He felt like he knew her, and he had his ideas, but there just wasn't enough information to go on as of yet. He vaguely recalled a woman on a television screen giving a speech. The Oracle, Lady Lunafreya. Perhaps...
At the least, he'd give a bit of basic knowledge beforehand. "You're in the city of Torensten, which is part of the Torensten Dukedom. Torensten is mostly known for its airship industry and the ports leading to free trade. There's also a great deal of magic present here. The air trains can get you from place to place if you're not up to walking for a long time, though you'll need a bit of gil for that. If you don't have any, though, there's plenty of jobs to go around. There's a bulletin board on Legend Square. Mind, many of them are combat jobs."
Lunafreya listened to Caius speak, she was grateful that he didn't mind talking to her and giving her the basics of the port. She was surprised at the mention of magic, truly was it more accessible than with the crystal… Her hands clasped in front of her, "you don't seem surprised when I said I'm not from here… Is it common for people to arrive unexpectedly?" She asked as she tried to understand how common it truly was for people to arrive without warning.
She had only the bare minimum skills to defend herself but she knew how to heal maybe there was a need for a medic. She had mostly avoided fighting when she was making her way to from Insomnia to Altissia… She had been careful and cautious but now she had no choice but to learn how to use her trident but the weapon was not something she truly had experience with.
"You have been truly helpful I am grateful…" She said gently as her eyes swept his face, "Legend square is that in the main town?" She asked, needing to find some way to get money so she could figure out why she had been plucked to this world. "Is there more than combat contracts? I'm far better at healing than fighting." She admitted as she watched the busy port become more lively as the minutes passed.

"Yes" he spoke softly, with a gentle smile when she asked if people showing up unexpectedly was common. "A lot of people you'll meet are from other worlds entirely. While some are wary of folks who show up from other worlds, they have become common enough that they're practically in abundance at this point. I wouldn't worry about it too much" he promised in turn. "I'm actually from another world myself. I've been here about... Two years now. I used to be a military man, now I'm part of a mercenary guild here in town."
The questions kept coming. Understandably so. She asked if Legend Square was in the main town, and he scratched his head. "This is the "main town" actually. Torensten is the capital of the Dukedom, and Legend Square is... Just right that way" he brought up, pointing towards the center of the city. Torensten was a massive city, so he supposed he wasn't too surprised she might get mixed up. He didn't mind, though. But he couldn't help but study her face. Was it really her? Was she really who he thought she might be? There were quite a few people who would be interested in knowing she lived. Aera, Nyx... Noctis. But was it really her?
She asked if it was all just combat jobs, and he shook his head. "There's something for everyone there, typically. Combat jobs are just the most common. Torensten always has monster troubles" he admitted casually in turn.
He decided he might as well just ask. No harm, he supposed.
"If I may, my lady..." he trailed off, scratching his head. "Your name wouldn't happen to be Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, would it? If I'm wrong, apologies. You just look a lot like... Someone I know. Sort of."
