I'M STILL BREATHING BUT MY HEART STOPPED BEATING
Nyx mused to himself at the thought of going back, would he even want to go back? He knew that it wouldn’t be possible for him – how could you go back to a place where your body ceased to exist. Besides, he somehow felt that here, in this place, was where he was meant to be. Although he called Eos home, it ceased to really be his home ever since he lost his mother and sister. Sure he had Lib and Crowe, for a time… Caius finished explaining that no one had returned but Nyx’s mind had already decided that he would stay here. There was nothing left for him in Eos – his mind flashed to Lunafreya but as soon as the thought came, it was gone.
“Guess we’re stuck here then.” Nyx chuckled lightly “Besides, I don’t actually have a body to go back to.” Nyx knew that Caius probably had no idea what he was referring to and he didn’t feel inclined to elaborate so instead he waited for the man to continue. As he waited he turned his gaze to his surroundings once more, the place felt homely in a strange way and he wondered how many people lived here. Caius had mentioned that Nyx could stay here while he worked out what he would do here. The thought made Nyx slightly comfortable, it wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate the offer but rather Nyx liked to have his own space. Living with other hunters, mercenaries or whoever else staying here did have its benefits but not nearly enough for Nyx to want to stay long.
Nyx’s thoughts were drawn back to Caius rather abruptly at the mention of Luna’s death. His eyes darkened when it was followed by the cause of her death. This news rocked him – he had been fighting for a future, for her future but that was taken from her. He turned his head to watched the fire, it wasn’t like he should be entirely disappointed about what happen for from what Caius said, they had indeed saved the future and that is what Luna wanted more than anything. Nyx let out a low sigh, she wouldn’t be unhappy with knowing that the world was saved.
At the mentioned of Lib, Nyx couldn’t help but smile. A big deal glaive – it was enough to tell him that Libertus had accepted being a glaive again and that he had done the right thing. Nyx never doubted that Lib would, he was the hero now, Nyx gave that title to him. It didn’t sting as hard knowing that he had passed, from the way Caius explained it sounded like he had lived his life and that was all that matter.
Taking the drink that was offered Nyx brought it to his lips and sipped it. It wasn’t like anything he had tasted before; it was richer in flavour but had a bitter after taste. Nyx liked his drinks hard so this was a rather nice drop for him. “Thanks.” He said as he took a mouthful and sunk back into the couch – it seemed Caius wasn’t done yet with the surprises when it came to Eos and this world. As he explained about the Noctis that had come to this world Nyx couldn’t help but scoff, that would be right – the gods of Eos were not the merciful kind, of course they had both Noctis and Luna killed. It was morbidly ironic and funny that Nyx let out a low chuckle “Of course he died too…” He didn’t mean it in a mocking tone, it was more that realisation that the world was a messed-up place. “That kid went through enough, probably for the best he believes you one of the Kings glaive.” Nyx sighed. “So tell me about this place then, you said I could stay for a while?” Nyx eyed Caius, he was curious about him. “I am keen to get my own place, how would I go about that here?”
