[attr="class","sgtitle"]Seymour
[attr="class","sgoverlap"]Life is but a passing dream.
[attr="class","sgbody"]Seymour listened intently as Yuna explained how her half-human, half-Al Bhed heritage affected her and her parent’s lives. He was shocked to hear that the Church of Yevon shunned Braska before he defeated Sin and brought the Calm. He had never heard anything but praise for the summoner. But then, he’d never really heard of Braska at all before his death. He wasn’t anyone Jyscal ever mentioned to his son, not until he became important after his end. [break][break]
His father had to have known about Yuna’s existence and about her half-blood heritage as well but he had certainly never told Seymour anything about her. Though, back in his time period of Spira, Yuna would have only been a child. That thought brought a wave of pain as Seymour tried to wrap his mind around the madness that was this new world. He looked at the woman before him. He guessed she was around his age, maybe a couple years younger. Did that mean the version of himself that she knew was thirty? How did a thirty-year-old Seymour act? Especially after another decade trapped in Spira. He couldn’t fathom it. [break][break]
When Seymour mentioned that he hoped he’d provided her and her guardians with help, Yuna seemed to get awkward. She stared fixedly at a point behind him which caused him to furrow his brows in confusion. There was definitely something she still wasn’t saying. And then she spoke and her voice was higher-pitched than usual and a little bit wavering. She was the worst liar ever he decided as she claimed that he had been helpful and protected her during a Crusader attack. But her words distracted him from her obvious awkwardness. The Crusaders? He barely knew anything about the organization, only that they used forbidden machina in an attempt to repel Sin. “We were working with the Crusaders?” The thought was surprising, especially if she claimed that he was a Maester in her time. [break][break]
For some reason, Yuna’s cheeks were flamed red now. She was definitely lying about something to do with their time together. He thought about asking, but surely she’d just deflect again. Maybe later, maybe once he was more acclimated to life here. “Yes. I suppose we should,” he agreed. Further discussion of their strange shared past could wait until they were out of this forest of ghosts and uncomfortable memories.
