Welcome one and all to our beautiful new skin! This marks the visual era of Adventu 4.0, our 4th and by far best design we've had. 3.0 suited our needs for a very long time, but as things are evolving around the site (and all for the better thanks to all of you), it was time for a new, sleek change. The Resource Site celebrity Pharaoh Leep was the amazing mastermind behind this with minor collaborations from your resident moogle. It's one-of-a-kind and suited specifically for Adventu. Final Fantasy Adventu is a roleplaying forum inspired by the Final Fantasy series. Images on the site are edited by KUPO of FF:A with all source material belonging to their respective artists (i.e. Square Enix, Pixiv Fantasia, etc). The board lyrics are from the Final Fantasy song "Otherworld" composed by Nobuo Uematsu and arranged by The Black Mages II.
The current skin was made by Pharaoh Leap of Pixel Perfect. Outside of that, individual posts and characters belong to their creators, and we claim no ownership to what which is not ours. Thank you for stopping by.
The portside of Torensten began to rumble, and voices began to rang out questioning the shaking and quaking that began to interrupt their daily lives of doing Torensten people things. Vordun lifted his head as he would move over and knock Caius off the chair with his snout. "Hey!" Caius complained. "Damn you, you overgrown lizard" He remarked with part amusement, part annoyance before he would suddenly stop when the quaking began to become more evident. Caius blinked a few times as he would sit up. He would tug at his line to bring it back in case of emergency. But when he did, it didn't come back. "Oh" Caius mumbled, before he finally managed to get his line back. Without the bait. Or most of the line for that matter.
"Well, s**t."
A creature would begin to rise out of the water, and as it would grow larger, the people in the background began to notice. The thing was huge, with many, many tentacles... Purple in color, and very, very round.
"Vordun, circle around behind it" Caius would instruct as he would get to his feet. Vordun would let out a grunt in agreement as the lizard took flight. Caius hoped that with the people distracted, Vordun could get behind the creature and attack without being seen. Better yet, being able to flank it would mean better odds for the both of them. Hopefully, anyway.
Caius drew his weapon just in time as the angry octopus would let out an ear-piercing scream, before it would wipe its tentacles across the beach. Caius used his Warp abilities to get out of the way, though his lounge chair and fishing equipment weren't so lucky.
"This isn't exactly the day off I had in mind" Caius admitted as his sword would materialize in his hand. "But I've never had sushi before... Guess there's a first time for everything."
The Warrior of Light was certainly not used to being forced to relax or go take a walk.
Yet, those were the words tossed at him by the group of people he’d insisted on helping that morning, after hours of hunting down pests in the nearby woods around Torensten. He hardly knew any other activity of course, paid or not. Helping others was his nature, and being able to use the only skillset he had even more so. Lior stared at the group in confusion as they shooed him away for the afternoon, commanding him to go relax and enjoy the pleasant day.
Not knowing exactly how to do so, the knight found himself wandering the city. How he ended up from the woods outside of the tall city walls to the port, he wasn’t quite sure. The weather was pleasant, though, the Warrior acknowledged as he removed his helm to enjoy the salty breeze through his hair. The sea was always an enjoyable experience that reminded him of his adventures back home, with friends. There were no pirates to be seen in these waters, however -- just civilians enjoying their days in the sun, playing in the sand, or carefully watching the water where the lines for catching fish lay still.
It painted a beautiful picture. Lior enjoyed hearing the sounds of others having fun, living their lives to the fullest. Too many times had the world been drowned in a chorus of screams, the innocent plagued by darkness. Now, they relaxed and enjoyed themselves, many doing activities that the knight couldn’t explain, but seemed fun enough. Perhaps, he could stay for a while and enjoy the day as well.
Then, the ground rumbled unexpectedly.
There were shouts of confusion all around him, and the Warrior furrowed his brows in surprise. What could be causing such a ruckus? The sand shifted uncertainly underneath his armored feet as people began to move away from the sea, equally confused as he. Then, in the water, Lior saw it; waves extending from a central point in several directions. Something was coming.
“Get away from the water!” the Warrior shouted as he sprinted forward, following along the eastern edge of the sand to where the beast was beginning to emerge. Something large and round, purple in color, with many dangerous tentacles. Some kind of octopus monster? The creature let out an unbearable screech, before swiping one limb across the beach. Lior was still out of its range for the first swipe as he ran toward the scene to help drive the monster back -- spotting one lone blonde among the wreckage of beach chairs and towels. Good, at least the man appeared to be armed!
The knight closed the distance quickly as the monster screeched again, flailing its dangerous tentacles about the air. The Warrior summoned forth six sabers of light, directing them with a swipe of his sword to pierce the closest set of tentacles on the round behemoth in the water.
“I do not believe you intended to catch that,” Lior pointed out to the blonde with a gesture of his sword, summoning forth his shield into his left hand.
"Get away from the water!" someone had called out. Well, no shiddles they should get away from the water considering the presence of that giant... Thing. Caius turned his head toward the source of the voice, before realizing when he saw the sight before him that it was a familiar one.
“I do not believe you intended to catch that,”
"No, but it does look rather appetizing" Caius quipped dryly as he brandished his sword. "Good to see you again, Horns" the mercenary addressed the Warrior of Light, waiting for the creature to bring its tentacles upwards to slam onto the beach... And then Caius smirked. But only for a moment as his gaze turned to fierce stone once more. He called out a command.
"NOW!"
Vordun had already been charging a fireball in his mouth, and the drake would launch it full force at the back of the creature. It hit it dead on, and the creature flailed about in pain from the burns. It tried to turn to strike at Vordun, but the drake would circle around, coming into the Warrior of Light's sights and dodging the attack before launching a smaller fireball at its side.
Caius took the initiative and tossed his blade into the air, warping forwards and upwards as he tried to grab onto one of the creatures' tentacles. But Caius found that the surface was too slippery to get much grip on. And before he could plunge his blade into it, the creature would spin its tentacles about, throwing Caius off and onto the sand as the creature would lift its tentacles again and start to spin them around the beach in rapid succession...
Caius was hit by that too, being sent flying and sprawling across the beach. He let out a groan and spin out some sand as he got to his feet.
