It didn't take long for the battle to get rather chaotic. As monsters and blades met, it became more difficult to keep track of what was going on, and whether the one in front of you was another fighter, or a monster. Somewhere along the way, Caius and Mu would lose their third, and wouldn't see them again. Caius had no clue how someone so large could suddenly go missing like that, but well... That was a mystery for a never day. Caius and Mu though, would continue cutting down foes, with Caius managing to keep track of where the shinobi was moving to prevent himself from being stuck by himself in this.
And then the rumbling started.
Whatever it was, even the monsters had begun to stop. They would suddenly begin to make a break for it, with the other competitors chasing after them, hungry for points while the opening was there. As they went, the rumbling only got louder, until they could hear screams. Then a voice rang out on the intercom.
"There has been, um, an interesting turn of events. We were saving a special monster for the end, but it seems that circumstances have... Changed. The monster escaped its cage early. But regardless!"
Just then, a monster with bright red skin would burst into the square. With a green mohawk-type brush of hair on its back, the warthog-like creature brandished two sets of tusks. Two white tusks going upwards shooting from its nose, and two brown ones jetting forwards from the sides of its mouth. The thing towered over the competitors, and it did not seem to be happy about being held captive.
"The rules still apply! Whichever team can defeat the big bad will win HUGE POINTS!"
Caius looked up at the creature before them, eyes wide. Some of the competitors had turned to face it, and had charged it... Only to get swept to the side with its tusks.
"Well, this isn't exactly what I had in mind for this" Caius admitted as he would brandish his blade. "But at least it won't be boring, I guess."

"There has been, um, an interesting turn of events. We were saving a special monster for the end, but it seems that circumstances have... Changed. The monster escaped its cage early. But regardless! The rules still apply! Whichever team can defeat the big bad will win HUGE POINTS!" Surely it wouldn't change the game plan too much right? Wrong. Keimusho looked at the gargantuan creature which towered over the entirety of the individuals in the area, including the other monsters. The pig shrugged Team A off like they were nothing and proceeded to charge towards Keimusho. The ninja managed to dodge the creature's attempt to ram him, but just barely. To his dismay the boar would not turn to attack the other combatants, but rather the remaining captive monsters. Those that did not flee instinctively were mowed down by the pig via its tusks or the stomping resulting from its tantrum. It rampage continues as it started to make its way towards the barrier. The monster would start to ram the barrier and after three hits, it would create a crack in it.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the creature seems to be ramming at the barrier. It'll never get through tha-" The announcer pauses once the monster forms a crack in the barrier. Bewildered the announcer says in a soft-tone of voice, "Is it gonna break through the barrier?"
"By the Kami, how did they ever contain that thing? Hells and I just had to deal with a behemoth the other day." Keimusho says. Keimusho forms a single hand sign, Ten. In his hands appears a Fuma Shuriken. He didn't want to have to use ninjustu, but it would have been any moment before the creature broke through the barrier. As he tosses the projectile he says, "Change of plans Caius, it seems that I will be making use of ranged attacks after all."
The giant shuriken slashes at the creature's back, forming a gash in the split second of its existence. It harmed the beast, but it was not enough to distract it from its objective. It continued to ram at the barrier, creating more cracking it in.

The monster's tusks struck the glass once more... And it didn't take long for it to be clear the answer to the announcer's question. Caius' eyes widened as the tusk-bearing monster would back up one more time... Before Caius cried out at the top of his lungs.
"MU!"
It had been involuntary, a cry of panic to try and alert the shinobi to the severity of the situation Caius was predicting was about to occur. He had brandished his blade and charged forward... But it was too late. There was a sickening cracking sound as the crack in the magical barrier began to get bigger... And then it shattered.
What followed was a series of ungodly sounds of screaming as the spectators were overwhelmed with the realization that their lives were in grave danger. Now freed from the constraints of the closed in area, the creature let out a loud roar before charging forward into the more populated areas of the city. These tusks were strong, incredibly strong, and they were shown in full fury as the thing collided with buildings that made them shake, shattered windows... And of course anything that was below it was quickly stamped on.
"S**t..."
Caius was taken aback by the chaos, stopping dead in his tracks. But he composed himself quickly, looking to Mu to indicate the obvious that thing thing took top priority. "We need to kill this thing as quickly as possible" Caius remarked as he began to load something into the chamber of his sword's gun end. He summoned one of his daggers and fired a series of shots first at the creature, hoping to compliment Mu's attack and maybe draw attention toward them...
And then finally, Caius aimed his gunblade into the air and fired. A colored flare shot high into the air. And soon enough, a loud roar filled the skies...
He didn't want to do this. Not in the middle of Torensten. It was risky. But he had been left with no choice. It was his own comfort against the safety of the people of Torensten. It was now or never here.

It was only a matter of time, but the beast managed to break through the barrier. What followed was a series of shouts courtesy of the citizens now forced to run for their lives. The anima in Keimusho's kodachi showed itself once more. "Wow it actually broke through the barrier" the oni-like being said. However, Keimusho would say nothing, his priorities lied with the situation at hand.
Gunshots from Caius would come into contact with beast, with several entering the wound formed by the shuriken. The creature howled in pain, but still did not turn towards the duo. It was evident at this point that it was attempting to escape. The only problem was that in doing so it would harm the people of Torensten. Keimusho would form the Ten mudra sign once more and toss a second Fuma Shuriken, this time it would be directed towards the beast's leg. Another roar of pain would come from the creature and it would once more continue trying to move forward. Though it was unable to ignore its pain completely and it moved slower due to the freshly inflicted wound in its leg.
"Now our chance to catch up to it," he remarks to Caius as he runs towards the beast. He didn't wait for a response from Caius due to the severity of the situation. In addition, the shinobi also knew that Caius would have no trouble catching up to the beast by virtue of that ability that allows the mercenary to warp to places in quick order. To ensure that the ninja himself could catch up to the quarry ,he utilized Shukuchi to swiftly move towards the beast. Keimusho would jump on the back of the beast by using a car that the beast somehow didn't trample over as leverage.
Keimusho would draw his kodachi as he slashed repeatedly at the wound on the beast's back. His final attack would be the technique Hissatsu: Senei. Two red slashes would connect to the wound causing yet another howl. The beast would attempt to thwart the ninja from its pack and would launch Keimusho in the air with its attempt. The ninja would catch his footing and backflip in front of the beast. "Alright.. Stand in this if you dare!" He slams his palm to the ground creating a circle of corrupted earth in the ground.
"I'll catch up" Caius spoke curtly when Mu brought up that they needed to move and catch up to it. He looked around, as the roar sounded up above... He hoped that enough people had fled that this wouldn't be too much of an issue. What came next hopefully wouldn't distract Mu too much. For soon after Caius had launched the flare, a large winged beast came down into the square, landing next to Caius. With diamond-colored scales, with claws and wings, and standing larger than the most sizable of horses, the magnificent beast couldn't be anything else but the small fire-breathing lizard that Mu had met previously. Except much larger this time. The fully grown dragon wasn't on land for very long before Caius had climbed onto his back and Vordun had taken back off into the air. It was clear that Caius had gained a great deal of experience in learning how to ride on dragonback since the two of them had met last. He had Yuna to thank for helping him get a foothold in that training, and then experience lended itself to the rest after that. As this was an emergency call, Vordun was lacking in a saddle. But while it would make staying onboard Vordun harder, hopefully if they could end this quickly then it wouldn't be necessary. Caius had gained far more experience in riding atop Vordun now compared to when he had constantly fallen off while learning.
Mu had managed to damage the beast a bit before it had thrown him off, before the corrupted earth he summoned kept the beast from moving. It didn't stop it from angrily slashing at Mu though, and with its long claws, it wouldn't be difficult for it to reach him. But this did buy enough time for Vordun to reach them, as the dragon slammed itself into the larger beast. Cassius had drawn his blade once more, and when Vordun had rammed into it, he leaped off Vordun and slashed at one of the tusks, lopping it off the beast. It let out a great cry, and with the damage done there, perhaps they could had the thing on the ropes...

Doton had the affect on the beast that Keimusho hoped for: stopping it in its tracks. The beast roared and clawed as it felt heavier due to the effects the corrupted earth had on it. Though it became imminent that the beast still had fight left in it as it claws approached the ninja. Initially the beast slashed at the Au Ra with its right claw, which was an attack the ninja dodged by backstepping. A second attack soon followed as the tusked-monster clawed at Mu in a horizontal attempt to maul the ninja with its left claw. This attempt of aggression towards the shinobi also proved futile as this strike would also be eluded. This time via narrowly ducking the beasts large claw. This pseudo game of tag between the beast and the ninja soon reached its end with the beast third attack towards Keimusho, but Keimusho was prepared for this as he knew that Doton would soon fade.
Bracing himself for the beast's attack Keimusho activated Shade Shift as he spun thrice to generate shadowy winds that would shield him. As this was done Doton dissipated and the beast regained its speed as it struck Keimusho sending the Au Ra flying upwards. Being bereft of damage the ninja caught himself whilst airborne. As he descended unto the ground the ninja looked towards the sky to see a winged creature. As it grew closure he realized that it was none other than a dragon being ridden by none other than the leader of the Dragonblades himself, which meant that this was the same dragon that was with the mercenary when the ninja initially met him. The dragon rammed into the beast, allowing Caius the opportunity the slice off one of its tusks. The ninja saw it fit to back up the duo by binding the beast once more, albeit in a different matter. The ninja brought his hands together to form the hand seal Chi followed by the hand seal Jin, which brought the combination necessary to cast Hyoton. The ninja would proceed to exhale heavily creating chilling winds that would freeze the beast in place.

They could do this! With the beast weakened after the loss of its horn, Mu had begun the process of enacting the finishing touches on this fight. Casting some sort of shinobi magic, Mu had breathed ice that struck the creature's legs. Ice began to form over its legs and whiled it flailed furiously, the ice wasn't stopping. But the ice wouldn't hold for long. With the creature's furious movements in its rampage, the ice had already begun to crack. It held for now... But they would need to follow up quickly. Caius sensed the urgency of the situation right away, and he knew that they needed to finish this here and now.
He took a deep breath as he stood to his feet atop Vordun's saddle, showcasing excellent balance honed from training with the dragon many times before. He could still fall, his size was a disadvantage in cases such as these and gravity was sure to catch up to him eventually. But he was too stubborn to fall just yet. "This is the end!" Caius growled as he leaped off Vordun and brought his blade down on the enemy while they were frozen, one slash after another striking the enemy one after the other with quick precision, using air control to dart through the air and strike another part of the body with each slash in order to keep him in the air. His speed began to increase rapidly as he began employing his warp technique, warping from one place to another and slashing all across the monster's body at blinding speeds as he picked up the pace. As he felt his magic beginning to wear thin, Caius warped backwards, re-appearing atop Vordun's back before leaping back into the air. "Do it!" Caius called to Vordun as the dragon began to charge up a powerful fireball, planning to go as big as possible. The ice was starting to shatter... They were running out of time...
Caius clamped his teeth on his sword to hold it in place, exhibiting great strength as he summoned the duel-sided blade, pulling it apart to reveal the twin gun-daggers. Aiming them both at the monster and pulling both triggers, the weapons opening fire in rapid-fire fashion as small bullets riddled the beast, aimed at the weak point that Caius had made for them. Vordun then fired, launching the fireball and hitting it dead on, creating a smokescreen with which Caius could strike from. With an opening made, and a good bead on where he could warp next, Caius disappeared, promptly re-appearing in front of the place he had cut off the horn and spun forwards for momentum before bringing his sword down with a heavy strike. The creature let out one last warring cry, the ice shattering just as the creature unleashed its final throes... A long, vengeful cry before it finally died down.
The creature went down, and Caius felt his stamina eb past its limit as he began to fall. Vordun caught him on his back, carrying the mercenary out of sight as the sound of the creature's thud appeared to stop the fleeing civilians, frozen in horror and confusion at the sound. From atop the nearest guard tower though, a man watched the battle with a pair of binoculars in hand.
It was the man who had played announcer for the contest before. The people may not have seen much of it, but he had seen it all. The battle, the dragon, the end of the beast.
When Vordun landed, Caius rolled off his back and hit the ground with a thud. He'd gone into Stasis when his magic hit its limits. Vordun let out a concerned little growl, and Caius managed a small laugh as he reached up to pat him on the head.
"Good job..." he spoke softly. "Go... Meet you back..."
Seeming to understand the command, Vordun let out a growl in affirmative before promptly taking off into the skies. The MC watched the dragon leave with a smile on his face. Holding up a Magic Crystal boosted with the power of voice projection, he called out to the people of Torensten.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE RAMPAGING BEAST HAS BEEN SLAIN, AND THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL OF THE HUNT HAS COME TO AN END! TEAM B KILLED THE BEAST, AND THUS HAS BEEN AWARDED 100 POINTS... THUS YOUR WINNERS... AND THIS SEASON'S CHAMPIONS OF THE HUNT... THE MYSTERIOUS MU, AND THE DRAGONGLAIVE CAIUS DRAGELION!"
The proclamation the beast was dead and the contest at its end loosed cheers amongst the townsfolk. While the battle had been like a blur to many, and the buildings obscured much of it, many had been able to see the two fighters zipping about the monster. Some claimed they saw a dragon... Others thought they were just crazy.
Caius let out a low groan as he picked himself off the ground. He was sore, he was drained, and he walked with a fatigued hobble for a bit as he slowly made his way back to Mu. By the time the podium in Legend Square had been repaired though, Caius was properly back on his feet again.
The people had gathered, and Caius and Mu stood atop the podium. Their third member had long disappeared, and it was as though he had never existed at all. None whispered about the party's third team member, seeming to think that the duo had been given a bad hand in the team draw and had still persevered despite it.
Caius looked around a moment. Where was the MC? He had been so enthusiastic about the battles, surely he was the one who was meant to be awarding them their prizes? He had such energy and passion for the whole thing, it only seemed right. But the MC was nowhere to be found. So what happened now, then? The actual runners of the competition preferred to watch from a distance, and Caius could see them on one of the guard towers... So who was meant to finish the ceremonies with them?
That was when the people of Torensten began to kneel. Down on one knee, they went as others made way in the crowds. A group of men came walking through, each finely dressed and looking quite important. But at the end of the line was a man dressed in the finest robes, with a crown on his head.
This was the Seven. The Torensten Dukedom's Ruling Council. And the man who trailed them in the crown must be...
"Hey! You two, head down! That's King Hremit!" one of the nearby onlookers psst'd to Caius and Mu. King Hremit, the descendant of the great hero who's statue stood just behind their platform. Smack dab in the center of Legend Square. Right in the center of Torensten itself. That Hremit? Caius was vaguely aware of his existence, but was in and out of Torensten so much that the culture of the city was still a bit of a mystery to him. But if the Seven were important, Hremit especially... He slowly nodded his head as he knelled, as a Knight would for a King.
King Hremit took the lead of the group, a hop and a bounce in his step as he climbed the platform. When he came close enough, Caius squinted as a he stared him down a moment.
He looked... Familiar. Didn't he know him from somewhere? Something about his face was familiar, but his expression was completely different. And who he had been thinking of actually had hair.
It didn't matter at the moment, though. Hremit motioned for them to rise, before he cleared his throat. And then cleared it again. Did he have a frog in his throat? Either way, the croaking eventually stopped as he finally spoke.
"Caius. Mu. Torensten owes the both of you a debt of gratitude, one that will not be soon forgotten. You have fought with valor, passion and honor beyond the call of duty. I would gladly swear the both of you to my service in a heartbeat, though neither of you seem the type" Hremit admitted with a curt, good-natured laugh. That was curious for Caius. Was it because he no longer held a knight's bearing? Or was it simply because he knew that he had responsibilities elsewhere? He didn't dwell on it for too long, though. He was right, as tempting as that offer might be, Caius was not in a position to accept it.
Maybe someday. When his task was finished.
The King turned to his people.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I GIVE YOU... YOUR CHAMPIONS OF THE HUNT! CAIUS AND MU!"
Applause rang through the square, as the King himself presented to the both of them a grey medallion with the insignia of a wolf on it. Crowning them both as Champions of the Hunt. Caius lowered his head to accept gratefully as the medallion was slipped over his neck, and Mu would be presented his as well.
"The both of you will be awarded monetary prizes as well for your efforts, they will be prepared for you by morning. A bit extra will be added from the Dukedom's own treasury, as a show of thanks from the Council" Hremit brought up to the two of them once the medallions were presented, before he turned to his subjects once more. "With that... LET THE HUNTING FEAST COMMENCE!"
The feast lasted well into the night. There was partying, dancing, music, even fireworks created using Magic Crystals. Legend Square was lit up in fire, in magic and in mirth. Caius was typically a quiet man and wouldn't be found partying, but he did meet up with the other Dragonblades to talk and tell stories. With their base being held in Torensten, it was a given at least a few of them would have been present and seen the events that had unfolded, though the crowds likely kept them from intervening when things got bad.
If Mu stuck around, Caius would eventually find him, and offer him a glass he had poured.
"Your skills are just as sharp as ever."

The grand battle would come towards its end as Caius made use of the advantageous moment created by Mu's Hyoton. The mercenary unleashed an aerodynamic assault on the beast, slashing from every angle possible, courtesy of his ability to warp around. Once the mercenary mounted his dragon once more, the dragon would breathe a giant ball of flame that not only dealt a massive blow, but also formed a smokescreen not unlike those of which are made from Mu's smokebombs. This gave the Dragonblade the opening he needed to end the beast.
The final announcement was an indication that the battle was indeed over. The townsfolk cheered. Many being grateful for still standing and others for being able to witness such a battle, at least in part. The fatigued mercenary hobbled his way to Mu after the dragon departed. The ninja had a grin on his face, but knowing that Caius could not have seen it through his mask, he would also give a nod of approval.
After time passed and repairs were commenced, both Caius and Keimusho would stand atop the podium. As the duo awaited the people of Torensten would begin to kneel before a group of men that stood out from the rest, with the man at the end appearing to be the most esteemed of them all. It was then that an individual pointed out via a whisper that it was Torensten's King Hremit. As suggested by the same individual, the shinobi would go down to a knee. It had not had been since the ninja met Lord Hien that he would have to show such respect.
The king croaked as he had to clear his throat. If Mu was a joking man, he's probably compare it to the sounds of Hellfrog Medium. "Caius. Mu. Torensten owes the both of you a debt of gratitude, one that will not be soon forgotten. You have fought with valor, passion and honor beyond the call of duty. I would gladly swear the both of you to my service in a heartbeat, though neither of you seem the type," said the king. Mu was glad that the king said that, because it saved them from the burden of declining an offer from a king. King Hremit turned toward the people of Torensten and states, "Ladies and gentlemen, I GIVE YOU... YOUR CHAMPIONS OF THE HUNT! CAIUS AND MU!" What followed was a standing ovation for Caius and Mu. Never before had Keimusho had so many eyes on him. Never had he been giving so much praise. It stands to reason as to why though, he was a shinobi and they had to work with discretion. But now it was different. Because of this the people would recognize the name Mu, at least for a while.
King Hremit would proceed to present the both of them with a medallion with a wolf's insignia on it. The king slipped the medallion of Caius's head and the ninja would lower his head the same to receive the medallion. Keimusho typically would decline such a thing. He didn't particularly care for working for his own gain. He always acted out of a sense of duty whether it was for Doma or simply an stranger in danger. However, he decided to accept it for two reasons. The first was because he respected tradition and did not wish to offend the people that resided here. The second reason was more selfish. For Keimusho the medallion was proof that he was fulfilling some sort of purpose in Zephon. A purpose of which he believed was why the Kami sent him here.
The duos efforts would also yield them monetary gains as noted by the king. The ninja was glad, not so that he'd use the gil for his own comfort, but because it was for the benefit of the elderly Aldrich. When the awarding of the medallions commenced the king turned towards the people and declared, "With that... LET THE HUNTING FEAST COMMENCE!"
Whenever he got the chance Keimusho found Aldrich amongst the crowd. Like Caius the ninja was not interested in partying ;however, the food was a different story. Keimusho was rather spent after the battle and food was quite literally a solution for it. After all food not served the stomach, but also severed to the replenish the body of aether lost through exertion. Keimusho ate enough to satisfy himself and would stash some food for later.
Keimusho eventually took a seat away from prying eyes, which was when Caius approached him and would pour him a drink. "Your skills are just as sharp as ever," said the mercenary. "Yours as well," the ninja responds to the Dragonblade's leader. "The ninja would pull down the mask", revealing the Au Ra's scaled face. "I suppose this would be the first time you've seen my face," the ninja comments before he sups of the drink. "I must say that I certainly didn't expect for Vordun to show up that was quite the clever way to signal for him," the ninja says referring to the flare. It wasn't to dissimilar to a tactic that shinobi used to signal each other if they were not in a position to communicate verbally, which was why Keimusho was so intrigued by it.
"Yeah we took down those beasts no problem. Roughed them up we sure did," said a voice. Keimusho turned his head to find that the oni-like Anima appeared next to Mu's head flexing its aetherial muscles. "We sure did, Enma. Good work," he said to the Anima while giving a small chuckle. Keimusho was glad that he choose now to appear, who knows what might have happened if he choose to do so in front of so many other people or even worse in front of King Hremit. Most probably would not take kindly to what appeared to be a demon suddenly appearing.

The both of them seemed to be of similar minds on that one. While Caius was not exactly a social butterfly -- he was more of a business socializer than anything else, so to speak -- he wasn't going to pass up a plate of Torensten's finest food. Recharging his batteries, and maybe sneaking some helpings for Vordun for later in the cold-isolated pack that he used to store and preserve meat , were perfectly practical things and Caius didn't mind sticking around for the festivities with that in mind. Not to mention that it was polite to stick around, considering he and Mu had won the thing. As far as protecting the people of Torensten went, the adulation and celebration that came with it weren't something he considered much. Protecting people was part of the gig, in his eyes. It was why he had set out as a mercenary and why he had formed the Dragonblades with Celes all that time ago.
Caius nodded his thanks when Mu complimented his capabilities. Though to his surprise, he pulled down his mask. He hadn't expected him to, even if he had offered him a drink. He had never seen him take the thing off, so he had supposed it might have to do with some kind of cultural taboo and he would figure out some magical shinobi voodoo in order to eat and drink. Yet here he was, taking his mask off in full view. Talk about a surprise. Mu then brought up the surprise of Vordun's appearance, and praised his method of signalling for him. "He's too big now to pass off as anything but what he is, which can be a problem in big cities. It's not a perfect method, but... Most times, it makes sure he's here for emergencies" he answered, as he looked to the small creature that was now floating next to Mu. He had brought it out earlier, but... He hadn't had a good chance to look at it until now. It seemed that Mu was able to talk to it, as well. A familiar, of some kind?
"That's an interesting friend you've got there" Caius commented. On the topic of friends... Something came to mind that had been on Caius' mind in particular for a good while now. He didn't like talking business during a time like this, but...
"You know, we really could use someone like you" Caius decided to bring up. "I'm not just talking your capabilities either. Twice now you haven't hesitated to jump to the defense of the people here when things went down, and kept your head on your shoulders while you did it. We've got our hands full with the Original Sin, and things are getting... Interesting, to say the least."
He drank a bit from his glass. "I won't pretend that doing combat jobs for money is for everyone, but it makes sure everyone's fed and equipped and ready for times like these, and can put all the time they need to it. And lately, a lot of dangerous people have been showing up. One of them, Kuja, may even be more powerful than the Lich that was stomping around not too long ago."
Caius had been keeping his ear to the ground for any signs of Mu, believe it or not. Rumors of one who snuck through the shadows and cut a swath through evildoers that crossed his path had reached him many times now. He didn't know Mu's path, but it seemed they were intersecting through the same kinds of people.
"I know you prefer working alone, and if that's your style, so be it" he remarked. "I don't know what your path is, or where you intend for it to take you. But it seems to be taking you through a lot of people that we'd be more than happy to help you take down.If you're ever interested, the Dragonblades would love to have you."

It won't do to twiddle our thumbs and pray for a saviour.

"That's an interesting friend you've got there," Caius said as he look as he looked at Enma. "Interesting would be an understatement. You probably would've had the chance to meet Enma at our first meeting, if it were not for the fact that they were in a deep slumber until recently," Keimusho responds. The anima would shift its boastful flexing into a Far Eastern bow not unlike the one that Keimusho gives during greetings and goodbyes and while showing respect to people. There were definitely a lot of situations where one from Doma like Keimusho gave such bows, so it was no surprise that the Anima would be capable of mimicking his wielder. "Enma at your service. I am a one of a kind combat companion and Mu's closest aibou," the oni-like anima said.
After a while, the tone of the conversation shifted to one of professionalism. To put it plainly Caius wanted Keimusho to join the Dragonblades. The mercenary praised the ninja for not only his combative capabilities, but his willingness to defend innocents from harm. It wasn't too dissimilar to Mu's sentiments of the Dragonblades's leader. With the same offer came details of troubles that the mercenary guild would face. The Original Sin obviously was the one most expected, it was a name that he could not forget as they were a firsthand example of some of the horrid individuals that Serentestra housed. Caius would also make reference to the Lich that he helped dispatch, by saying that one dangerous individual in question was potentially more dangerous. Kuja... he would commit the name to memory.
"I know you prefer working alone, and if that's your style, so be it. I don't know what your path is, or where you intend for it to take you. But it seems to be taking you through a lot of people that we'd be more than happy to help you take down.If you're ever interested, the Dragonblades would love to have you." That was what struck the Au Ra the most. What was his path? The answer was never easy and it required a reflection of oneself to obtain it.
It has been a challenge for Keimusho to find a sense of purpose ever since coming to Zephon. It has not been easily on him to not only have not only lost a clan of the only ones he could consider kin, but to also lose his homeland just as it was reclaimed. That was not even mentioning the fact that his homeland could easily be overtaken again, because of death of the hero who paved the way for Doma's liberation. Keimusho looked back on his conversation with Alexander, which has notified him that those results have played out in differing ways in differing timelines. A lesser man would have easily have been broken due to these circumstances. But he also knew that he did not have the right to complain as a multitude of the individuals summoned to this world had lost just as much if not more.
"The offer touches me truly, Caius," the ninja said genuinely. "I will admit that I am no mercenary. I never done any sort of work with the intentions of filling my pockets. I've never had that luxury. Before I was sent here, I fought for a clan... nay I fought for the liberation of my entire homeland. And though we had succeeded in that endeavor, that war was far from its conclusion." Keimusho took a moment to drink from his cup. "And throughout those frustrations I am but left with one question. What is my purpose now? And as I asked myself that question, I have realized that just as I did in my homeland I fought without any intention of compensation."
The ninja turned his head to spot Aldrich. "That elder over there would be the prime example. By the Kami's grace I somehow managed to save him from some sort of black creature, only to find that he had lost his memories. Ever since, I have kept an eye on him and ensured that he had a place to live here in Torensten." The ninja sups the remainder of his drink. "To put it plainly, I am no mercenary. However, you can certainly consider me your ally. The word that Enma used earlier 'aibou' would be the best way to put it. It is a word in my culture that in simple terms mean 'friend' or 'partner'." The ninja holds up the medallion. "This is a testament that we can call each other aibou. Whether if its with the Original Sin or this Kuja individual that you speak of, if you'd have need of me I... no we shall lend my assistance," Keimusho says to refrain from excluding Enma.
