Shidaka is a former Summoner and Warrior Monk hailing from the world of Spira who secretly disdained the Yevonite faith due to his close exposure to it growing up in Bevelle and his anger over the seemingly endless cycle of death casually accepted by its creed. A complicated upbringing under the thumb of his father, the Yevonite priest Ipetam, haunts his very being from a distance. Spending some years as a Warrior Monk, Shidaka eventually underwent the training to become a Summoner in the seemingly futile hope of discovering a way to permanently destroy Sin or merely expose the Yevonite faith for the sham it really was. Shidaka traveled around Spira on a lonely pilgrimage to the various Yevonite temples trying to discover allies as well as dealing with the fayth to gather up an arsenal of aeons. During his journey, the daughter of one Braska, Yuna, had begun her own pilgrimage. First the father and now the daughter seeks to sacrifice herself... Yet said journey ended in a rather unexpected fashion as Shidaka continued to conveniently miss her party along the way... Yuna managed to accomplish what was seemingly the impossible. The dream of Shidaka himself... The permanent destruction of Sin, the dissolution of the Yevonite faith, and the advent of what became known as the Eternal Calm. Shidaka and his family found themselves at a loss of what to do and he was personally a little bitter that his entire life's goal managed to be accomplished without him even playing a part in it... Shidaka thus decided to "finish" his pilgrimage, using the trip as an excuse to think over his new, free future. He thus traveled to Zanarkand from his home in Bevelle... As Shidaka roamed the ruins towards the Chamber of the Fayth in Zanarkand, the pyreflies that roamed freely bombarded him with visions of past pilgrimages that revealed to him the entire truth of what Sin really was and proving just how much of a sham Yevon really was... A chosen Guardian of a Summoner would have to sacrifice themselves to create a 'final Aeon', which would then inevitably transform into a 'new' Sin. Machina had nothing to do with Sin's "wrath" or anything of the sort. Shidaka barely managed to get into the Chamber before sitting down and trying to gather his thoughts on his life and the knowledge he was "blessed" with. While sitting in the Chamber, he suddenly found himself bombarded with even stranger visions that didn't seem to even mean anything... Shidaka then blacked out. When he reawakened, he was no longer in Zanarkand... In fact, he wasn't in Spira at all anymore. He had somehow found himself transported to Zephon. An entire new world all for the taking... Shidaka couldn't resist the temptation and thus he took being separated from his family rather well... Though he does secretly hide a hurting heart missing the home he knew and his younger siblings. Despite that, his ambitions would take a tighter hold over his mind and heart and he would decide to find himself anew in this new frontier.

Shidaka is an incredibly potent mage utilizing both black and white magic and thus is still more than capable of defending himself alongside his adequate physical prowess even without the ability to summon anything... At the moment~ His Sphere Grid uses Lulu's as a starting point, then travels through Yuna's (with a small dip into Rikku's, but that's not relevant for magic purposes). He likely has some other tricks up his sleeve thanks to the Sphere Grid.[break][break]
