Could programs choose if they were loyal or not? Shelke wasn’t sure, but she supposed she shouldn't be surprised that one that could would come from Shinra. As well,an A.I advanced enough… it would make sense. But loyalty…? They were slipping these days if they couldn't keep even something they created loyal to them, Or maybe that’s how they wanted it to begin with? It was hard to tell with them. If nothing else she could believe that Stacee was not overly loyal to them regardless of reason. Besides.. If she could break away, why shouldn't this A.I be able to as well? Shelke perfected up, if only a tiny bit visibly. She hadn’t wanted to deal with Shinra, or what they might want with her. But it seemed she wouldn't have to worry about them, or Deepground.
That’s what she wanted to believe.
Her words got a light smile from Shelke, an ever so slight turning of her lip to show her change in demeanor. It wasn’t much to the eye granted, but Shelke did feel a bit more comfortable
”I see…. Can you do that? There are not… well, restrictions to keep you from removing them?. Are you able to modify yourself in such a way? …wait, I am… sorry, I don’t mean to doubt you, it’s… really ok if you can’t though, I do not expect you to try and break programming for me. It is… nice of you though”
She did appreciate the gesture, she was just unsure how Stacee would do so, if she could she’d… honestly be interested in knowing how she did. She’d love to see the proof of such a sight herself, breaking free from how she was written.
..Well, perhaps she already had to an extent.
What came next was how this seemingly free willed A.I intended to help her, In Stacee’s case it seemed she offered two forms of help. One was to talk to her, she was.. Made for this after all it seemed. She appreciated the offer, but she wasn’t sure she could open up too much to someone she barely knew, she could… try though? There was a time she barely knew Vincent to after all.
”I can… try, your correct… it is difficult adjusting to this world, I’m not sure… how effective I’ll be at first, but.. I can try, you seem… nice enough”
What perked the girl up more, and more noticeably so as she was both visually surprised and had a warm feeling to her expressions. With a bit more eagerness she leaned forward, whispering back.
”Knowing whats going on would be useful but… would there be anyway you could see if Vincent Valentine has been through here?”
She paused for a moment, before realizing that a physical description might help such a search.
”Taller man, black hair, he usually wears a red cloak and black under it. Totes to guns around to blast people. He is… a friend, I’d like to know if he’s here. Are you capable of that Stacee?”
Stacee’s comment on Scarlet did manage to get a giggle out of Shelke, a light one but a laugh none the less.
”I’m not sure how anyone could think anything with that woman would be easy honestly… People in Deepground could be like that. Still it.. Was a home in it’s own way. That said, while I wouldn't mind seeing Argento or Pullum again, I’m.. in no rush to see the others, Azul, Rosso, Weiss and.. ESPECIALLY Nero”
The girl noticeably shivered when she said that last name. It was one thing to stand up to Nero when she had to, it didn’t mean she made it a habit, or sought it out. In the current condition she was in? She wanted to avoid the possibility at all cots.
Well.. he was gone now, so she shouldn't have to worry about that much right? She blinked a moment however, shaking her head as she realized a mistake on her part.
”Ahh… sorry, you probably can’t say their names either can you? My bad..”

…….A hologram.
Well no, that at least wouldn't have surprised her given the advancement of the place she was in. What did however was how she talked, more specifically how she introduced herself. Shinra… the statement made her step back in reflex, a look of distrust on her face. Therapy… and compassion? So she was supposed to be a therapist? That might have sounded appealing to her, that is if the name ‘Shinra’ wasn’t attached, even with something as seemingly helpful as this… there was likely something attached. But that was only one of several questions to ponder. How did data, a creation of Shinra even get here? Sure she had arrived here but… this just seemed more confusing to her. Was truly random things being snatched from their world and dropped here? Should she expect Midgar to fall out of the sky soon?
But this was hologram, so maybe this place simply got ahold of that data and made use of it? Though… given Sonora’s reaction to her, and outsiders in general she couldn't imagine they would have been very open to using things from other worlds ether, it would probably be akin to infecting themselves with it, if she had to guess. This answer became more solid as she continued to speak, and the hologram found itself unable to say… certain things. Things like her name, and who she worked… ONCE worked with. Sinora would have no need to censor such information, but Shinra would.
The red, alarming screech also served to tell her as much, Shelke rubbing her ear a bit do to the close proximity.
”It’s… fine, look, do not worry about it, I imagine that….”
Another error screech as she let the program continue talking, another flash of red as she attempted, she could only surmise to say ‘Deepground’. Of course, They were like a dirty secret, something to keep hidden. They were the brush under the underbrush, The dirt under the surface. Having that information casually said, even by one of their own creations was an unnecessary risk. Shelke couldn't help but thing that was a reasonable choice in that case as well, even with her lack of fondness for the group. Because that program that had been censored seemed to displaying more emotion than she ever did on a regular basis. How ironic that was to think about… maybe she was the true machine in this… huh? Shelke herself remained silent as she contemplated this information, listening as the hologram known as Stacee continued her efforts to speak two simple words. Heh… that was ironic in its own way. It would nice for someone to speak her name, to hear someone that knew who she was from the start. Even such a simple thing it seemed was far to much to hope for here. That would be… fine though, she could get through this. She was an adult, all she had to do was focus and keep finding a way forward.
”Really, you can cease, I’m certain you won’t be able to speak those… terms. You do not have to stress so much about it, I’m… not the easily upset type”
She attempted a smile, though it came off as meek at best. It was more difficult to do without the.. Proper stimulus she supposed. She would never pass in a situation where she had to fake happiness, emotions in general really. The pair contrasted strangely in this, one showing more emotion than she should, the other showing less. Shelke crossed her arms, shaking her head as she looked at the program. Perhaps she could have simply told Stacee that she was no longer with Deepground, save them both some time, and struggles. But then she might simply leave, having no reason or obligation to speak to her. Shelke didn’t want that, not because she had particular care to Stacee herself, but because it felt nice for someone to recognise her, even if it was just as data in their system. It was something she’d… like to keep going for a bit.
”I am… unsure of how you can help me however.. Are you not just as much of an outcast as I am here? I am… struggling to get along here, to get what I need to keep going proper. I have a store for now but.. It won’t last forever and as you may know people here are.. Less than cooperative”

She was not welcome, that much was certain from the beginning. Tossed into this new world against her will the first thing she was met with was rejection and disgust, Distrust and hate. It hadn’t helped her situation any that she came into this world right in the middle of their square. It had definitely helped even less that the way she talked, that monotone, almost robotic tinge to her voice only succeeded in putting people who were already on edge even more so. An emotionless creature sent to gain their trust, then overthrow them.
She wished it was as simple as that, perhaps it would have made things easier.
She was used to seeing faces that didn’t like her, it was not anything new. She had seen them from foes, and even allies. But…. she had grown used to seeing the faces of people that liked her in recent times. Of seeing smiles and kindness. It didn’t make her any less used to this of course. But… it did make it hurt just a bit more than it used to. She didn’t want to accept it, but it did. She felt the pain herself.
She didn’t want to stay here, she wanted to return to where she belonged….
That first day, someone attacked her, she defended herself, only rendering the boy unconscious… yet she was the one treated like a criminal, as she hadn’t only been acting in self defense. This place was horrid, full of hypocrisy and yet… where else could she go? She had no way to return to the place she belonged. She had no way of knowing if other places were like this one, or broken down. This might be the only place she could find mako, if such a thing was here… but it had to be, if it wasn’t….
…….
No, she would find a solution. It was as simple as that. In the meantime she had worked as a mercenary for the city, it was the only thing she was ‘trusted’ to do to any degree it seemed, and even then only from certain people. It was enough to sustain herself, but that was it, and by no means was it any closer to getting her to her goal. As things were it was simply a clock ticking down, down to her eventual perishment.
…..She… didn’t want that.
The girl, in her DEEPGROUND uniform likely standing out to any normal person walked the streets, giving out a neutral sigh, simply staring at a lifted hand as she made her way back to the area she had been staying. She stared intently as if maybe she could find some solution to her troubles in the palm of her hand. As if perhaps, it was just a matter of looking at it different.
And then she leaned against a wall and stared up to the sky, just as she had done the days before, doing the same thing she had done with her hand.

II. PERSONA
Due to the experiments she was made to endure Shelke has developed a stunt in how she expresses herself. Often times it is difficult for her to properly get her emotions across outside of extreme circumstances. In turn this has effect of making her come off as robotic to most, if not void of emotion all together. Though once close to a reality now a days it is simply a side effect from what she went through, as she has come to rekindle those emotions through her travels with Vincent and through Lucrecia's memories.
Though it has gotten better with time Shelke does have a strong habit of looking at things through a logical lense, rather than an emotional one. though this can help at times with planning for various things beforehand, it becomes a deterrent for her when it comes to matters of the heart, whether romantic or in normal conversations with friends or coworkers. This can lead to conflicts with her budding emotional state as she sorts through what she should reasonably due and what she should do, emotionally. A conflict that while she is improving, has yet to fully work out yet in herself.
That aside, Shelke has developed both a sense of camaraderie and loyalty, most strongly towards those who do place their trust in her. Because of the difficulty she can have in forming genuine connections she cherishes the ones she does have above most anything else, willing to put herself in danger to protect those bonds. In such situations is when the girls determination shows itself the best, even if she doesn't fully understand why, she knows in her heart, that she desires to protect the people that matter to her.
Yuffie's a bit annoying though...
III. HISTORY
At the age of nine a young Shelke Rui was discovered to have a rare ability, 'Synaptic Net Dive' and, due to this ability she was to be taken form her home, her sister, to take advantage of this ability for SHINRA themselves, though originally meant to brought into SOLDIER to fulfill this purpose,Rufus' plans interfere and means she ends up in DEEPGROUND instead. Once there she was subjected to a wide form of experiments and training, all for the purpose of harnessing her abilities. These experiments would take there toll on the young girl both mentally and physically as her growth was stunted a the age of nine and over time cut herself off emotionally, instead turning to logic to drive her actions. This also had the side effect of making her require Mako (or something similar) in order to keep herself alive. In time she would prove herself worthy of joining the ranks of the Tsviets, but due to her physical condition she was not able to be sent outside of DEEPGROUND for missions or combat. None he less with he SND abilities invaluable Shelke became their fourth member, under the title 'Shelke the Transparent'
Later on, while rebelling against the Restrictors Shelke and Argento would upload a virus into the Deepground supercomputer, which would have the effect of freeing those affected by the restrictive chips they bore, later, with the group in need of another worthy candidate she was told to use her powers on one they selected, manipulating their thoughts and memories so that they would hate the Restrictors.
Later on the Tsviets are in search of the Protomateria, and using her abilities Shelke is able to find it's carrier:Vincent Valentine. She would go on to find him during DEEPGROUND's attack on Kalm, alongside Azul. Though they would try to take the materia from him, Shelke's losing power would force the duo to retreat. She would later infiltrate the WRO's base alongside Azul using her cloaking ability, however through the interference of her sister Vincent is alerted and the two sisters reunite. However the reunion only brings up the painful memories she had went through in DEEPGROUND, cuasing her bitterness to win out in the end-though a shower from the sprinklers would prevent her from going through with her attack and allowing Vincent to get Shaula to safety. Afterwards Shelke faces off with Vincent who, after a rough fight is able to use sedatives to subdue her.
A few days later she awakens, having been taken in by the ones who defeated her. She claims to her sister that it was a mistake to let her, an enemy live, Threatening to attack again until Azul himself manages to break free. Vincent and her sister try to fight back against Azul's more bestial form are unable to break threw, leaving Shelke to bring him to a crawl. While stopping the man's rampage with her shield materia she learns that she is now being targeted for termination in addition to their goals, as she had both been captured and outlived her usefulness in their eyes. Stunned, Shelke is only able to use her materia once more to slow Azul down, while Shalua attempts to pull her away to escape. However Shelke's reluctance to go with her results in the door they are to esape through beginning to close on them, as well as Azul begining to catch up once more resulting in her sister blocking the door with her artificial arm and ultimately, sacrificing herself to allow her to escape. an action that left a confused, stunned Shelke to ask 'why' The response by Vincent causing a resonance in Lucrecia's memories inside her.
This results in Shelke informing Vincent that she had previously absorbed some of Lucrecia's data into her mind in order to find the Protomateria. She offers to combine this data with the rest Vincent had already found in order to get a clear picture of what they were up against, as well as to regain control of her mind. On board the Shera she makes a terminal and performs an SND in order to fulfill this purpose, learning of the groups goal to bring forth Omega prematurely to destroy the world. As they prepare to assault Midgar Chaos begins to overtake Vincent, observing this Shelke returns Vincent's cell phone, which she had earlier obtained and now modified so that he can keep in contact with her, to him after his dismay, though she insists on only doing so, and helping the WRO for her own benefit, She is taken abak when Vencent says he is depending on her, as no one had counted on her up to that point. She is able to use the information she gathers to assist in the assault on Migar, keep watch on the ships status and montier Vincent on the ground.
After reaching the remains of the Shinra Building, Vincent begins to lose himself to Chaos once more, however Shelke speaks to him in Lucrecia's voice, informing him of the nature of Chaos, and the ability of the Protomateria to control it until it was taken from him. She encourages him to fight against Chaos' influence, telling him that she does not wish for him to die, however her SND visor short circuits shortly after. There after Cid complains of something going on in the engine room which Shelke offers to investigate, only to the fallen crew members as well as one of her form teamates, Nero the sable. Not wanting to fail the people who had put their trust in her Shelke confronts and fights against Nero, but after a short skrimish she is overwhelmed and captured by his dark powers as well, only able to protect herself within them thanks to her Shield Materia. Overtime in this darkness Shelke comes close to giving up, however a combination of Lucrecia's memories, as well as her own of her sister comforting over their mother's death. a vision of her sister asks if she can return to the planet after this, to which which Shelke gives a firm 'no' rubbing this encounter off as data interference she rubs tears away that had begun to fall down her face, surprised as she had thought she did not have any more tears to shed. Vincent is able to recuse her just as her materia had begun to give out, placing her in a regeneration tube to recover thereafter.
Later as Vincent confronts Weiss Shelke prjects an image of Lucrecia to Vincent, encouraging him to control Chaos rather than try to overpower it. Later when Omega awakens and Chaos has overcome Vincent Shelke theorises that the souls in Omega act as a network, and uses her SND ability to dive into Omega and retrieve the protomateria. Within the darkness she finds herself in she sees an obscured figure resembling Lucrecia who hands her the Protomateria, Shelke returns this materia to Vincent under the appearance of Lucrecia, allowing him to finally gain control of Chaos, stop Omega and save her.
Once the conflict has ended Shelk remarks on things a week later, of the life she now has as she tries to fill n the gaps in her life she had missed out on until now, she has realized that she is not alone, she even sends a message to Vincent reminding him of his promise to tell his feeling to Lucrecia. As Vincent emerges from her cave later he finds Shelke, now in more casual clothes, having sent by their other friends to retrieve him, though she remarks that she doesn't understand why they did so..... but also saying that she does not mind. They smile at the sky, and then leave to join their friends.
That is as far back as Shelke herself remembers, but she does not recall how exactly she ended up int the world she now finds herself, only that she was thankful a supply of her Mako had come with her, for she had been able to find more sense. In order to get by she had taken up some work, sometimes in the mercenary line, and sometimes as an asset to gather information for employers. But one thing had been consistent in her time in the world:She had not seen Vincent, or anyone else she knew yet.
Perhaps in some ways that was best for the girl.
After all, their were some shadows she'd never want to see again... even more so with the looming threat of her Mako supply running low.
